I see a trend here. You don’t NEED or DESERVE a convenient spot to do everything in on place. Go explore the world. You can WP instantly. It’s not like you have to wait 3 minutes for a tram or flight or something.

Just had this interesting thought after doing the story mode.

At the end we see Dessa try to leave the fractal and suddenly things go wonky. She seems to reset and loses all memory of having just run a fractal or meeting Ellen.
Additionally, Dessa doesn’t know that the reactor has blown up which might suggest she is either very ill informed or in the past before the reactor explosion.

It would also give a good explanation as to why you are doing the same fractal runs over and over for her. Every time you go visit her you are visiting her for the first time and she has yet to run those fractals from her point of view.

So like how she can’t pull people out of the past or other Fractals, she cannot leave her own Fractal and we keep visiting her space in time as a fresh face each time.

Evidence? —--

• Dessa doesn’t know what Silvari are
• Dessa does not know the Fractal gate is in LA
• Dessa thinks LA is run by pirates still (Ok so it sort of is)
• Dessa didn’t know the Reactor blew up
• Dessa ‘resets’ and has complete memory loss of the story mission events at the end when she tries to leave
• Dessa never recognizes you (no dialog changes)
• Dessa runs the same fractals over and over in our point of view
• Dessa comments about not being able to leave (either knows or an unaware comment)

Based on the post bellow, there’s technical limitations on exchanging Fractal weapons for Fractal skins:

I think a solution to this would be to convert our Fractal weapons to Fractal skins by exchanging them to a NPC much like we can with our old Infinite Gathering Tools from “Soulbound” to “Account Bound”. Surely if Gathering Tools are replaceable in this way, Fractal Weapons could also be.

The only benefit I see to karma armor being soul bound is it will force people to explore areas they already traversed extensively in under powered gear to create the illusion that people actually play in those areas.

This right here is why Soulbound is a thing. It’s a gimmick to get people to play more. Though it’s normally a sub-based game thing, so people keep paying to keep playing to do the same stuff. Since ANet doesn’t actually benefit from people playing every month, I don’t see why they need subscription based gimmicks.

So the game looks busy and people go “there’s lots of people playing” and then they can brag to gaming blogs about login’s….

easy fix for this.

If you do the pre-event chain to completion where that world boss spawns, you get a Boon that lasts until you zone.

the Boon would be simply

150% Magic find on the next opened World Boss Chest

And Bam, problem solved.

Just wait for second generation Legendaries and hope there are some better looking short bows

There are a LOT of items in this game that are soulbound for no good reason. I just spent the last week using my mesmer to get exotic dungeon gear for my support ele, only to find out that there is no way to break the soulbinding. Now I have to gain all those items again with my ele which is no easy feat because this game favors dps toons too much. I wish they would use account binding more as it would save a lot of frustration.

The idea is supposed to be that you can run the dungeon on any character you want, then you tranfer the tokens to the character you want to wear the gear. Which is, of course, stupid. If I can transfer the token to any character in order to buy the item, why can’t I just buy the item and transfer it directly?

If they made all dungeon vendor items account bound, like that, the result would be that runes acquired in the dungeon itself would automatically be account bound too. The reason that runes acquired in dungeons are soulbound is because they are the same item as the runes you can purchase from the vendor.

The little fish swimming around it would look a little odd on land, though. But I guess it would still fit the necromancer’s style a lot more than the bifrost…
