What are your queues like on Kaineng? Your numbers are ridiculous.
I think Kain players are pushing harder than normal and playing longer hours, which is to be expected in their first real test since the transfers. I’ll admit though that I was surprised by their numbers on reset night. As BG’s numbers dwindled later in the night KN stayed pretty strong. I didn’t expect that kind of showing. KN seems to have recieved more transfers than I thought.
I can verify that we do often pull split shifts. That is to say our Oceanic/NA population wakes earlier or stays up later than most. Probably due to the fact that our Euro population is almost non-existent. For instance, personally on reset night I rarely go to bed before 6am EST, it’s usually more like 10 or not at all.
Our strongest times are when NA and Oceanic overlap, which is unfortunately the point at which most NA servers start to head to bed (insomniacs excluded). Yes, there were a lot of transfers though. The closure of free transfers bumped up our population drastically.
Everything I heard mentioned BG having pretty good 24/7 coverage – is that not true? I know the numbers are a bit skewed this week due to the lunar New Year, but later in the week that should balance out some.
Great week so far, here’s to hoping that internal Kaineng drama doesn’t skew our awesome matchup thread and the fantastic atmosphere TC and BG have shared with us.
Not really. We have some Oceanic’s and they are great at what they do, but we have never had a strong 24/7 coverage. If WM and the other oceanic over there was looking for an equal fight they will not get it. BG will fight and do there thing, but it is not our strong side. BG is a lot less populated then most people think.
WM plays early when they are looking for a big fight. Like on reset.
Kaineng, keep it together and always hold the line. It’ll all work out in the end. Best to keep internal affairs off the forums.

Do you really speak Korean and talk to them? On DB we have a lot of players from Taiwan and we rely on just a few translators. Sometimes it makes communication hard. I wonder how other servers are at coordinating cross prime time.

Kaineng has quite a few Taiwanese players as well. It can be an issue but we get along just fine with strategically placed translators during highly active times.

However, since we have a chance to collectively correct our individual grammar, let us start with this post. Firstly, in the first sentence it would be best to use a comma after ‘No’, otherwise it would come to be ‘No trying’, in which case you are stating that you are not trying to figure out what he just said. In the second sentence, we see what is seemingly a typo, as it should properly say ‘an English’ and not ‘a English’. Next we see that it would be best to put a period (alias a fullstop), but a comma can suffice as well. Alternatively, you can choose to put ‘and’ instead, making it ‘… website and if …’ The second part of that sentence we see some more common mistakes once again involving a comma – ‘… trying to say, am I …’ Also we see confusion in using tenses, where present tense suppose should properly be supposed. Moving on to the next sentence, we see And is out of place at the start of the sentence, removing it and adding a few more corrections, we should get ‘Seriously, are you posting in a thread on the internet to “win arguments”?’ Please do not forget that sentences should be ended with the proper punctuation marks in this case a question mark. The show up, they crush everything, they get targeted by trolls till no tomorrow. First they were spammed by AGG with hate pms. Then they get mass reported for botting by frustrated opponents.
Let’s get this clear – the original WM were simply elite. Seen them fight against absurdly outnumbering (and proPvP) forces from HoD. Fought besides them for months as a PuG. Their level of skill is not comparable to anything I’ve seen – melting groups 2-3 times larger in size. There might be some new ones (though I doubt they would let anyone in).
Fanwong is a classy guy – and their official translator and interface to the English speakers. He reads these forums and informs them on their own.
Yes, they are under orders. Yes they do have a “military-like” organization – they are War Machine after all. That’s what makes them so powerful. However, one of my guildmates was once invited on their own VoIP (not speaking a word of Korean) and told us that it seems to him like they were laughing 90% of the time – except the 10% when they were fighting and when the intensity and rigor in communication was noticeable even for an outsider.
Yes, they are strict with WM members on what they can or not do. But anyone who ever played besides them on any server will confirm – they are extremely friendly and positive with PuGs/militia/other guilds – was never treated that well by any other guild group I played with.
SBIer here – and while I’m still sad about them leaving us (come and guest with SBI for some PvE fun at least), I just wish them to find what they are looking. And to be tough enough to ignore the trolls.
Very nice of you to stop by and support WM. They get a lot of nonsense from opponents. You’re right though they’re real people not bots and plenty of fun.

They were investigating this issue on kaineng today in kbl. So they are working on it.

I think I know or can guess what Dev was investigating in K BL. At least one has been informed directly via whispers/party chat/vent. It would just be helpful to have an official statement for us to work with here.
It would be nice to be able have our core guild members on our BL or know if we need to adjust tactics and reassign guilds to different BLs, etc. If it’s something that’s going to be fixed in two days that’s not really a concern… If you see where I’m coming from.
This is happening on US servers too, we need a response Anet. We’ve counted, we’ve all joined squads and counted that way. We’ve counted on Vent, we’ve counted in chat (I don’t know if you’ve noticed but Kaineng’s population loves to talk).
Also, I tossed up speed boosts and scouted our maps – counting green dots on the mini map to avoid culling issues – for people that weren’t following our commanders, while the queue bugs were obviously in effect. I’m willing to admit I may have missed 5 or 10 (or even 20 moving very fast :P). Not 80-100 though. Not happening.
General results show 50-75 people on bugged maps at any given time.
I am surprised that DB isn’t able to counteract Kain’s oceanic presence that much. I guess Kain is now taking over DB’s role.
Yeah, NA guilds backup our Oceanic guys until upgrades go through, at least. Likewise, many Oceanic guilds wake up early to help with upgrades getting set too. Reset is an event on this server, lol.
Now I’m going to try and get a nap started before 8 am rolls around.
Yeah it’s totally not a bug, you’re right. That’s why when I told a guild member who’d been queued for five hours to reset his queue two times then wait 15 mins he got in in 10.
On a side note the window for entering Green BL at reset was approximately 3.5 seconds, after which the queue bugged. Various different approaches have worked to fix the queue on an individual basis, but it hasn’t sorted itself out yet in full.
Yes our average queue during reset is 2-3 hours. Given that our population hasn’t doubled in the last week, we shouldn’t now have 6 hours queues on K BL.
I was on during reset, I got in immediately, once about 50-75 ppl had joined the map the queue started and has persisted since. We’ve done head counts, we’ve done rallies, and no there aren’t people chilling out in the JP.
I’m only around to post this b/c I took a dinner break. So yeah queue time for me!

Lol, he’s is on Kaineng, and is a commander, in a well known guild. He’s right about the people looking for an easy win being in the wrong place though. Things are about to get rougher.
BTW does Kaineng have their own TS or Vent server?
To my knowledge we do not have a unified TS or Vent server. Hopefully someone will volunteer to buy one at some point.
EDIT: actually think NEO alliance has one….but thats still not really server wide.
Our vent is for the alliance but we do have an open policy. Everything but the guild specific and officer meeting channels are public. Anyone can hop on whenever.

I spent three years in Eve, as an industrialist mostly (and the occasional Thrasher roam /w Caldak). So I actually agree with that – though the folks that kept suggesting to put Second Life related stuff there annoyed me no end as well (spent several years there prior to Eve – would have had a Beta account if I had joined immediately after the first Uru Shutdown).
Anyway, on topic – thankfully I’ve not been too worried about drop rates – thanks to Eve, I’ve learned to do more with less anyway, so I’m a spendthrift at times (plus I’ve been a lot more savvy about ‘using’ the TP once I got used to it). I do Dailies and saved nearly every karma jug so far (just about to hit 50 IIRC), so between that and the new Laurels is where I’ll probably get most of my end-level gear now.
Have you looked at the new Utility Infusions though? 15% Karma, 20% Gold, 20% MF are the ones in particular that got my attention. The MF one is gaining most of the rage, but I think that may be misplaced when looking at the other two (mudflation seems possible with those in place – though that seems to be happening anyway). Perhaps its just me, dunno…
Don’t forget to use a Karma booster before drinking those jugs. They do gain the 50% buff, chug them back to back and buy karma gear. If you WvW a lot P/V/T gear is a godsend.
WvW loot isn’t actually worse than open world loot. I’ve gotten exotics off of tower lords, just like in the PvE world. Even without MF gear/buffs. Yeah it sucks compared to grinding dungeons but that’s life.
I’d rather not have a bunch of farmers in WvW anyway, what with queues to get in and all…

Full time WvW players are like pack of hungry animals, if Anet didn’t starve us to near-death, ignore us completely for months on end like a neglected puppy in a cardboard box full of barbwire and hand out the beating to the side of said box with a big bat… just to annoy us a bit more.

Orange swords at the water gate after they were in, I zoned onto the map and saw orange swords at the inner gate then ran over there. Still no contested on the icon however.

I’m thinking you must be one of those people who look at the score and evaluate the match that way. You should probably read the matchup thread – we’ve been fighting YB and CD, and we collectively have had a ton of great fights this week. I’ve seen plenty of posts from all three servers saying the same.
YB and CD aren’t helpless, nor have they failed to bring the fight this week. They just don’t have the coverage to show points on the scoreboard.
So, yes, it was a good week in WvW.

I’m impressed by the sportsmanship everyone is showing in this thread, especially all the KN guys coming out to give CD and YB props for putting up a fight even though the whole map will eventually be blue again. I tend to take a break Monday – Wednesday so I’m fresh for the weekend, but I know plenty of SoH’ers and other CD’ers have been keeping up the fight all week. I’m excited to see how next week’s match goes.
It’s honesty, YB and CD have their tactics and their coordination. We see it, we learn from it, we thank them for the fun. Contrary to popular belief, most of the transfers love a good fight. Meanwhile the old Kaineng has always been known to love the same.
YB for instance, zeros in on our least populated hours and hits hard and fast. It’s almost always a great fight, and can go either way. As it should be.
Skirmish wise the week has been great. I was testing a few random builds and got my butt handed to me several times. So thank you YB and CD for putting up a fight small scale when large scale wasn’t possible.
Good luck to all in the coming weeks, I imagine the points reset will throw everything into utter chaos. I hope, in the end, everyone ends up with a worthy match and equal opponents. No matter the tier, let’s have fun.

A least it’s not as bad as when we fought EBay and DR. DR kept throwing zergs at the back of EBay zergs when they were attacking our keeps in EBay BL. Why? No clue but it made wiping them both faster.
ok we all know that today A-net has officially announced that at the end of this week the WvW rating system is going to be zeroed (all servers having 150 points or something). so you tell me if there is any point playing wvw this week? As a Kain player we will be better of if we stay in this tier rather then moving up a tier since we will get more points here then in tier 3. So whould we continue fighting? what for. Its better if we let the Yaks and CDs take all our stuff…. I know this is frustrating but what can we do? Just follow and run around like a headless chook.
How about…this tier isn’t fun so we NOT stay here. Besides Mag is next tier, Mag is fun to fight against. Screw “must get to t1 faster”. Have fun :P
i know what you mean by this tier being boring but we need to look at the bigger picture. If we stay in this tier next week (which is unluckily anymore) we can reach tier 1 faster. I dont know what else to think anymore.
You realize it’s going to take weeks of matches for the tiers to sort themselves, right? Step back and ask yourself if you really want to be in t1 for a week b/c of a blowout match in t4. Just let things sort themselves out naturally.

He’s right if both servers have queues you have equal numbers. It’s hardly the other team’s fault if your players are off killing moas.
