Can’t believe people are upset to see this amulet go, so glad it got deleted. Also the implication that a teams sucks (The Abjured) and avoids fair fights by out rotating is pretty lol. I always thought of The Abjured as a team fight oriented group while teams like TCG were out-rotate teams.

Warhorn Air #4 reads that it is unblockable but I had it blocked many times. Either a error in the tool tip or bug in the game.

Shouts seem very lackluster, still. Shouldn’t have to spec to get might or boons on shouts otherwise, what is the point? Already have to spec to even make them relevant and they’re still not….

Someone, somewhere suggested that air #5 should follow your character instead of being aimed and I agree.

Warhorn #4 water knockdown needs to be instant so you can actually use it correctly.

I think if overloads are going to break stun they need to be put on some sort of global cooldown because 4 stun breaks on essentially a 5 sec CD is broke.

Remove eye of the storm from traitline along with the rest of the passive play in this game please, no one wants to fight passive CD procs.

Some sort of mobility on warhorn would also be desirable.

The lack of complaints regarding Mesmer is very discouraging to me. Everyone is so focused on ele for some odd reason. Ele sustain is too high but the core problem is the burn change, cele amulet stats and blinding ashes ICD.

This meta is absolutely disgusting and borderline unplayable. Every fight is a “who can clear more burns” fight or who gets “x” passive proc.

Fix the game then curve the classes, idiots

In PvE they offer the biggest DPS in the game + soft and hard cc, amazing support lots of fields and lots of finishers. I mean its pretty hard to make an argument for filling the slots with anything non ele when you have a guard already.

No one cares, it’s PVE.

In PvP the Celestial varriant can beat about any other class in 1v1 and shrug of conditions as well as direct damage while dealing great damage themselves. Zerker with focus offer allmost no counterplay because all the spells are instant casts with instant procs from fire/air sigill. Even then they get all of that from their weapons and can take all the defensive utility they want.

D/D cele got hit pretty hard with the the recent might changes and in the squirmish spvp meta it’s easily focused and bursted in team fights. 1v1 potential is still pretty good. I still think that shoutbow/cele engie are a lot better then D/D.

Also, cele staff is a lot better then D/D IMO.

S/F insta burst is a problem due to it’s lack of counter play but the class has to rely on huge CD invulns in any prolonged fight. S/F is non existent in the TOP play of spvp due to it being a one trick pony. Why have an S/F ele when you can have comparable burst/boon strip/portals/on-demand interrupts from a halting strike mes?

In WvW they are the main source of Damage and can lay waste to entire Zergs. As well as sustain their own with waterfields and harrass the enemy with static fields. They also make excelent roamers and scouts.

Laying waste to a kittened zerg doesn’t really prove anything other then the fact that the zerg is kittened. If an organized zerg cant deal with ZELE statics and nukes then maybe they should run some type of gank and 1 shot them….

D/D in WvW is still strong due to the insane amount of stats you can get(can say this for a lot of classes). However, zerker necros and power rangers make it pretty difficult to do much small scale stuff on D/D these days.

With the introduction of celestial people have forgotten how ele was pretty much deleted from the spvp meta and really only used in PVE for conjure and WvW for AoE nuke. The class isn’t as strong as you think, it gets carried by an insane amulet.

In regards to the last page:
Phoenix is definitely broken considering you can hit it 5-6 times so umm yeah…

This. TBH I’m kind of confused why people insist that they need to sit in Earth attunement. This trait is an Active Defense which allows them to nullify an entire burst. If they choose to stay in Earth to permanently get the trait’s effect which cripples their DPS greatly, then they’re doing it wrong.

Except, Thief can redo that burst within 4seconds. So While you may avoid the first burst, the moment you leave it you will be burst down anyway.

So they do there burst, it is reduced by the trait and being in earth. Then what? You’re in an attunement that offers very little. The thief will just wait until you leave it and burst you down. That isnt exactly great play, that is just waiting for you to leave an attunement.

In the mean time they will keep attacking you and have little to fear because Earth skills are rather weak and of little threat to pretty much anyone. So the thief is just bididng his time knowing thaqt you will have no choice but to leave the attunement sooner or later and as soon as that happens, back into easily obtained stealth ready to backstab you know that you will have at least 10seconds before you can go back into it.

You would go into earth to nullify the backstab. Gain control of the fight with earthquake, leave earth attunment with prot and then smart use of utilities such as arcane shield and mist form and skills such as shocking aura and updraft to control/mitigate/nullify following backstabs. Earth attunment has a 10 sec CD = no crit and more prot

Just to be clear, I’m just saying this trait has potential.

There appears to be a definition problem. Can you define what you mean by burst?

Uhhhhh…you swap to earth to proc prot and negate burst and/or to proc rock solid to clear condis and heal……..situationally……

I heard you like rock hard appendage jokes.

You guys are severely underestimating the fact that you can nullify an entire burst and leave the attunement with prot for your following offensive posture.

The earth magic trait line is amazing and with stone heart it’s going to be even more tempting. No longer being crit plus rock solid+Ether Renewel combo…just went from 6 to 12 in my pants.

I’m completely shocked at the amount of people defending and refusing to admit to warriors being over powered. I don’t agree that they are ridiculously overpowered however, the damage they put out, the amount of sustain they have as well as the mobility they possess is to much. It’s the D/D ele 2.0 (Except warrior can achieve crazy amounts of damage without much sacrifice and have access to numerous low CD CC). Then to top it off, we get a video of a guy who clearly doesn’t understand the lowest basics of pvp and proceeds in rolling his face across his keyboard and effectively missing EVERYTHING to arrive at the conclusion that…..warrior’s are not overpowered…ok GW2 community, ok…

There actually is no targeting skill which can hit an ele during rtl as it is too fast. Rtl is the best escape in the game, period.

Ele is fine as it is. It’s the most balanced class out there actually, the nerf it took were necessary. The problem is that such nerfs should be applied to other classes too.
If rtl was brought back to 15s cd and 1550 distance we would see a lot more complaints about ele being op because “omg can’t kill the ele he always rtl and flees”.

Rtl is fine. Rush is fine. I just can’t stand people asking for unneeded nerfs.
And I play an Ele and a Mesmer, and hate the warrior current state as much as you do.

I would really like an acknowledgement from ANET regarding the current state of the elementalist. They have completely ruined the class and it shows in the most recent TPVP events.

yeah that’s the actual point of this thread :P Last i heard anything from the developers they said (about 1-2 months ago) : “When we have brought down the fotms abit elementalist will be fine”.
Then they proceeded to not nerf any of the fotm at all, and left the elementalists completely unchanged really apart from support staff. There just have to be one developer out there who are concerned with elementalist and their roll in pvp! the time for information is now, since last things they said was complete bs apparently!

I just don’t like what I’m seeing lately with the changes to staff and conjures and this talk of ele being a “support class”. This game got away from the trinity (tank, healer, dps) and therefore that mentality and philosophy is totally against the games design (and is nothing but a blanket statement to cover up the classes destruction). That ridiculous statement made by the dev regarding his encounter with a “strong staff elementalist” was just more propaganda. Congrats for standing in a meteor shower.

ANET pulled a Blizzard and completely “whacked a mole” which is something they have been pretty outspoken about avoiding. The lack of attention from the Dev’s in the ele forums and these threads regarding the current state is disgusting.

Who would take this trait over zephyr’s boon or bolt to the heart? And when are the dev’s going to realize the nerf to RTL was to drastic….I love running around with my 900 range gap closer that’s on a 40sec CD while warriors go WW and leaping by me with twice the health pool, better healing and better defensive attributes that don’t sacrifice offense……

Rogues were about stun lock in WoW and there was just as much, if not, more QQ about rogues.

My adrenaline rush mace spec + empyrean demolisher was extremely OP

The prep spec rogues could double ambush…and rogues with 3 pieces of nightslayer could double backstab…soooo yeah. You just don’t remember the tears and I do cause it’s all I played.

Well I do. Thieves are the only class without a 1200 range option and I feel that adding in longbow when we already have a shortbow would be a little redundant.

Anyway, I would also like to see a much better Sword/Empty set and perhaps wield the sword as though it was a greatsword.

Why not just buff shortbow….

RTL nerf needs to be reversed, healing needs to be buffed, traits and CD’s need to be adjusted. You cant design a cloth melee class and take away its survivability. Warriors are just as mobile (and always were) and have better healing now….Nerfing certain aspects of one class while giving them to another is not the answer

Sounds to me the OP wants even numbered play. Having played WoW for 5++ years which btw has evenly balanced #‘s due to queues, I guarantee you the WoW board still QQ’s daily over Battlegrounds, this after the games been out since 2004.

In other words, Anet can add your ideas to a TEE but knowing the MMO community, the playerbase will find something new to gripe about.

This! Omg this a thousand times. The MMO genre is plagued with the same problems generally circulating balance and PVE favoritism.
