The WvW matchups are isolated right now but it’s only for our convenience in analyzing performance. Because of the way Megaservers works it doesn’t really matter in terms of CPU load.
Gotcha, thanks for the clarification on that. Now if we can isolate the skill lag issue in my aforementioned post. There definitely seems to have ‘some’ correlation to the amount of people on a map… but I’ve also noticed skill lag (albeit reduced amounts ~1 second ish) on nights where there aren’t queues.
This DEFINITELY is not the case, most people are complaining about SKILL lag, which is indicative of a connectivity or server side problem.
Also to piggyback this post… this is the single BIGGEST cause of frustration. Video Lag is understandable. Skill Lag, where you either mash your button 10 times before a skill fires… or worse as an Ele, are failing to change attunements, is the lag most/all of us are requesting to be fixed.
On reset nights, the lag can sometimes be unbearable. IE; I’ve waited 5s before attunments to change, and forget about casting anything but your ‘1’ skill, because it isn’t firing.
Is it too much to ask that WvW matchups be put on their own blade? It seems fairly clear that sharing the CPU power across WvW / PvP and PvE VM environments is too much for one blade to handle.
Keep in mind, this armor was female human only before…. If it was ‘easier’, then why spend the time and go through the exercise of making this skin applicable to the other races and gender?
Makes zero sense.
This should be an armor set… not an outfit.
People love ‘Capture the Flag’
Why is this not a full time PvP match? (with normal class/skills) This would be an amazing map for a basic 5v5.
You could even tweak it so the victory scenarios are:
First team to 500 points wins.
Cap the ‘gift’ or ‘object’ gives 250 points.
10 points per person killed, (similar to ‘Courtyard’).
This point system would prioritize the capping of the gift, rather than to simply zerg/grudge-match each other down. (‘Nike’ Warriors = OP unless stunned/immob’ed)
TBH, I dearly ‘miss’ this type of gameplay… ala Warhammer: Scenarios.

Hold the phone here just a second…

So, the armor skin set that MANY of us have been requesting… and what appears that the time has been put in for to design for other races and male characters… will only be available as an ‘Outfit’ and not as wearable armor in the game? Excuse me for being, just a little, perplexed.
Anet, Why?? Why has thou forsaken us?
Just give us the ability to weapon swap between Staff and them a D/D or S/F etc… That’s all I want…. seriously. Done. Totally happy.
Additionally, using FGs4 immediately after using a FGs3 causes you to run backwards in the direction you came from. [Bug.]
Dear A-Net…
Please god… no no no.. Do Not make our alternate profession a pet-based mage.

If anything, I’d love to see a more CC type class that focuses Stun / Immobilization in Air… Fire walls, Earth magnetic pulls, etc.

Dear A-Net… How about fixing the bug when you use FGS3 and then FGS4 immediately afterwards, but end up running backwards with the FGS4 skill.
Plz.. kthxbye!
@Palador… I know right, It’s not like you see people in real life, copying famous celebrities styles or anything..! </sarcasm>
Trejgon, you’re likely right. These are just screengrabs from armor examples that have been put out in the past from Anet.
Repost, I know.. but this one is merited considering the amount of people who clearly want it:
Dear ANet,
Anise’s Armor. [&AgECWQAA]
Suggestions on how to make this work in pieces: (as seen in the attached file)
Light Armor:
Chest = The Corset (as shown on left model in photo)
Leggings = Mini Skirt with pattern (as shown on left model in photo)
Boots = Thigh High Boots (as shown on right model)
Shoulder = Shawl (As shown on right model)
Head = this is where we’ll need to be inventive… perhaps some sort of masquerade style pattern
Gloves = Full armlength gloves (as shown in both models)
Please take 800 of my gems for this armor set. (Combat Wearable… not town clothes)
Make this happen… make your quarterly earnings estimate!
Thank You!!!!
Confirmed with several other people…. Your finisher in PvP and WvW keeps resetting to the default “Basic Finisher”. Once you set it to your ‘purchased’ finisher, it automatically resets in-game to the basic.
Frustrating…
Dear ANet,
Anise’s Armor. [&AgECWQAA]
(model from the original design photo attached, the leggings are much more pronounced.)
Would happily pay 600-800 gems for this armor set. (Combat Wearable in WvW, PvP, PvE, etc…)
Please please make this happen.
Thank You!!!!
Bump.
Would happily pay 600-800 gems for this armor set. (Wearable in WvW, PvP, PvE, etc…) Or make this an armor skin that can be crafted via Forge etc..
Dear ANet, make it happen. Thanks!!!!
I can confirm this is happening on my client as well… Seems to have started within the past couple weeks.
I tried going back to my old video card as well, but same issue… While moving, there is a noticeable graphics “lag” / “hitch” for a moment, then streams fine at 50-60fps.
This is more noticeable in highly populated areas such as WvW, or for example, when you’re on a high up hilltop, and have a ‘long’ field of view.
Also, while playing in Windowed-mode, reducing the size of the window seems to help mitigate the frequency at which this issue occurs.
System Setup:
Windows 7 Pro
i7-3930k on x79 chipset
16GB Ram
Have tried two video cards, same result: GTX670 and GTX970 on the latest nVidia drivers.
Admittedly, I have not gone through the entire thread – so this might be suggesting something that’s already been mentioned.
For the Borderlands (non EB) in particular, why not do something useful with the Skritt and Centaur territories? As of right now, what purpose do they serve?? ~20% of the map goes unused.
My proposal is simple… take some of the good mechanics about EotM and integrate them into the Borderlands. For example, the scorpion-catapults… If capturing the Skritt / Centaur areas gave you a useful buff or siege utility, I think you’d find that added diversity of the BL maps would bring back interested player base… and additionally encourage fighting versus the karma-train.
I have the same problem as the OP.
I am experiencing this very same issue as well…
Open the program.. Launcher shows for a brief second, then disappears. Process is still running in the background, with 3-9% CPU usage.
Confirmed… this was happening to me last evening.
Ever since the April 15th patch, I’ve noticed an increase in skill lag, or skills not even firing – taking multiple button presses to even get them to cast. This can be seen more often where multiple keystroks in quick succession are made, and the 2nd or 3rd skill casted doesn’t fire… then requiring a few more button presses to get the intended skill to fire.
IE; Ele Static Field, Change Attunement to Fire, and then Attempting to Meteor Shower. If the keystrokes are done quickly, the Meteor Shower will not cast. Similarly, I’ve had difficulty getting my 6 ‘heal’ skill to fire after casting a few items in quick succession.
Does GW2 have a skill cast queue, and was something changed with it in the April 15th patch? I can only assume that the required delay time between keystrokes has been increased.
This ‘bug’ is even more pronounced in heavy zerg-on-zerg fights. Where you have 60+ people, likely all mashing buttons.
Further complicating matters, sometimes, after dodge-rolling – while holding the movement “W” key pressed at the end of the dodgeroll, you fail to keep moving, requiring you to lift up and repush W to continue moving. This happens more often while strafing and dodge-rolling while casting skills. In WvW areas, this is a particularly delicate bug. As not being able to move after a dodge-roll, oftentimes gets you killed, when otherwise you’d continue to move out of trouble.
Thank You in Advance!

What kind of issue are you specifically having that could be related to lag?
Skill Lag of 1s up to even 15 seconds… and sometimes even being locked out of using my skills. (Not even /dance or /wave fixes, I need to completely log out and back into the game.)
Rubber Banding occurs when using a blink/teleport or roll-backwards skill (Ele Fire 4)
Insta-deaths, etc…
What server are you on?
Blackgate
Has there ever been a time when you or a friend are experiencing lag, while others in your party are not?
Has there ever been a time where one party in a map is experiencing lag, while other parties in that same map are not?
Same Answer for both questions: No – It happens to everyone in my guild when there are zerg on zerg fights ANYWHERE on the map.
Do you experience the lag at very specific times?
Not meant to be accusatory, but it seems to happen with a slight bit more frequently when facing Jade Quarry… or when JQ is fighting Tarnished Coast elsewhere on the map. That said, we do seem to experience a bit of lag when fighting TC as well in larger numbers.
If so, can you estimate how many players are in each zerg?
Lag starts to become noticeable (1-3 second skill casts) when there are 40+ people fighting each other… and becomes unplayable at 60+ people. (5-10 second skill casts, rubber banding, insta-deaths out of no where.)
We had a 3-way in SMC one night… 100+ players in one area, and the lag simply became comical.
PC Spec:
