Cutting them slack is something I have been doing for months now. I have been playing this game since about a month after release, until the queens jubilee ruined the game. I can’t log in and play for more than 10-15 min before it crashes to desktop. I have 9 character slots and I have had over 15 lvl 80’s. the game used to play and look amazing on my 27" iMac. I can’t play WvWvW or take on any Dragon without crashing immediately. I have tried everything these forums and moderators said to try. This is on them to fix this seeing how it worked before they did that update. I was getting between 50-80 fps.

I am not the OP, I only read what some of the people were saying to him and had to speak up. Just because some of the Mac users are able to play without problems doesn’t give them the right to talk trash to someone like the OP who feels ripped off. Maybe you should cut him some slack? Implying that this forum is how I would go about getting my money back is laughable….

Btw I know exactly what a beta is, I have been a beta tester on more games then you have probably even played. They can label this Beta all they want, it doesn’t make it one. It’s just an excuse not to have to fix anything for Mac users when they update the game for PC users.

I suppose people forget what beta means, also you almost always only hear from the negative. So using the forums as the sole point of reference is a bad practice. You would have to get the total sales and downloads of the Mac Client, then get the total number of users (not individual posts) making reports of horrid and non-usable software, then get your average from there. Even then, there are variables to consider like the person who gets mad at the one thing and jumps online to gripe about it. Normally that is regardless of the fact that every other part of the client works fine for them, so I would say there is a +/- 5-10% error even in my basic equation.

My fiance is playing on Mac and it all works just fine. In fact, some things she does runs a little smoother than my custom gaming rig, so I can support the Mac Client. As an avid supporter of devs making games Mac/Linux compatable, this is a great step and I think people just need to learn a little patience in order for them to get it right. Direct X is that industry standard, so Open GL takes a little longer to make work sometimes.

I don’t give a rats &$$ about how well your woman’s Mac is doing. Nor your brothers twice removed cousin from your mothers uncle Jim Bob. What I do know is this game is UNPLAYABLE on a lot of Macs including mine.

Someone from Anet already stated they are not looking into fixing the problem we are having. So excuse me if I am a tiny bit kitten ed off at them and don’t plan to buy another game these twits make. They sure took my money and I’m not talking about a messily $60. that I paid for the game. Seeing as how we haven’t even heard from anyone (like Luis) in 12 days, we can say they don’t even care. Maybe they are just not good enough at the job they do to fix this problem.

This is crazy! It has been a week and you still can’t find a fix to something that has made the game un-playable??? Wow, what a dev team you have. Oh wait I get it, because this is only happening to a small amount of the players in GW2 (The iMac owners) it is not on the Devs priority list.

The game worked just fine before this patch. I for one am tired of jumping through hoops or changing my settings just because these devs are too lazy or stupid to test these updates before they release them. I have played since the beginning &I am done with GW2…..

Same problem here, crashing every 5-10 min. I can’t even get out of the new area before it crashes again. Someone should be fired over this….

The fighting in this tier and T6 the last week has been the best fighting I have done since starting WvW months ago. I can only imagine this is what Anet had in mind when they built WvW. Sure there are still problems but if this back and forth fighting was in every tier, WvW would be a smashing success IMO.

Haha! They have some real thieves then. We had SM, EBay trebed down the outer wall. We held them off, but a thief and Mesmer stayed inside after we repaired the wall. We took out the Mesmer but the Thief was able to evade “CnD” for an long time. He killed a lot of DR who found him. He took me out on my Mesmer so I logged on my thief & got him.

Has it ever occurred to you that you lose because you make fundamental mistakes? Take the simultaneous garrison assaults last night (DR & SBI).

30 of you were on SBI trying to take our garrison with a golem rush while 30 of us were on DR trying to take yours using rams. We had nobody defending garrison but a lookout. YOU had at least 20, mostly AoE specialists (and of that, a LOT of longbow rangers), defending your keep.

When we heard you were trying to take ours, HALF of us went back and wiped you guys right as you broke through the inner gate while the other half remained to keep the pressure on while having inferior numbers. *In our defense of our Garrison, besides being out-numbered, we had no siege, no time to prepare as we barely, within seconds of your busing the inner gate down, made it into the inner keep way point. *

Despite being out-numbered by our choice, we, true to our expectations, wiped you. While out manned. The floor was red with DR bodies and I got somewhere around 10 bags. Your zerg never made it to the Lord’s room, dying in the supply courtyard.

Let’s compare that to your garrison defense.

During our assault on your garrison it took us 45-minutes to burn down your seige that you spent 1700 supply MOST OF WHICH YOU WASTED ON BUILDING MORE SIEGE THAT WE KEPT DESTROYING.

Not that it was ‘easy.’ You repeatedly, with your massive AoE knocked our squishy guys down so the heavies had to keep getting them up. And getting them up was a chore because you had multiple catapults and mortars you’d pound us with. But we did it, despite the ground being red with AoE circles and no place to dodge.

Beyond that, you must have had close to a dozen arrow carts in and around the Lord’s Room where we couldn’t take it down from the inner keep. When we broke in, with you having PLENTY OF TIME TO BRING IN REINFORCEMENTS from your SBI wipe, GIVING YOU YET ANOTHER NUMBERS ADVANTAGE, plus all those arrow carts, we still wiped you. And while we were wiping you, you respawned at Citadel, hit the just opened waypoint at Garrison and rushed in again. Where we kept wiping you, despite the constant stream of reinforcements.

So, even with all the siege, and having greater numbers AND the tactical advantage of the citadel-short-run-back and your own waypoint, you lost.

You had us out-manned on SBI. You, in the end, had us out-manned and with multiple tactical advantages on DR. And yet you lost. Twice. With more people (in total) than us in both fights.

So, I say, look to yourselves. Stop pointing fingers. Stop acting like it’s ‘superior SBI numbers.’ It’s not numbers. It’s how you play the game.

I haven’t even been able to play GW2 this week, but do you actually think your server is really that skilled? That the amount of people had nothing to do with the outcome?

Population levels for the servers are too low, imo. It is fine if you just log on during prime time and want to have some fun before heading to bed or whatever, but at off hours I do not want to spend more time finding a fight, then fighting. Not saying you do not have a good thing, just why it wouldnt work for me.

I would rather run through wvw looking for a fight rather than what I have had to do for the past 5-6 weeks! I go for hours in Wvw without seeing a single person from my server. But I do run into 20+ roaming parties from the other servers. So for me wvw is a joke now…

Well now you may have just messed that all up! Everyone on a server who’s been in bad match ups thanks to this wonderful scoring system will want to jump to your server :p

I for one do not care about the score nor have I ever cared. I come out everyday to WvW for one reason, to kill people. It shouldn’t matter who has “better night coverage” or “zergs” as long as you get the chance to kill things that is what WvW is really all about. So please, stop comparing, stop complaining, stop bragging and just enjoy WvW for what it is; a place to kill people.

We miss you too! Apparently SBI is a horde server on this tier. Just one tier up and we were hilariously outmanned. But it’s all okay, we keep our chin up either way. Those couple weeks of matchup threads were the best.

Ya, this matchup is great. There are no ques on SBI. Often all the borderlands have been in the home servers hands 100%. I’ve gone onto LoJ and DR borderlands several times since the matchup began and found maybe a few handfuls of players roaming. Pretty empty and deserted. Lots of fun that way. The NPCs tower pushes are a great to wake everyone up lol. I am glad they added that. Yet, still the large commander led groups and the large scale tower and keep attacks are in full swing in the EB for those who like that. There’s a bit of something for everyone.

Yes, I am sure you would think this match-up is great. You don’t have the outmanned boon every time you enter a WvW zone… Just as I am sure you are having a lot of fun. Devonas Rest has been a dead server for a while now. Probably the reason I now have 7 lvl 80’s. I can still roam around killing off small parties while solo. But even that is getting old. If Anet doesn’t do something about WvW soon it will continue to lose players.

Why would I want to craft 10 ingots? I’d rather be in WvW making you T*T about my class being OP. This isn’t all about how difficult these are. But how much a waste of time they are. The people saying they like this new daily system are bunch of morons. This new system in no way, no fashion adds to this game. If what they are trying to do is drive people away from the game then… Thumbs up! Why The Hell should someone be forced to DODGE if that’s not the way they play a Ranger/Necro or whatever class. Is it easy….sure. But I never had to make sure a kitten mob got close enough to do it. Why should I now? Oh yeah, so I can complete the #$$%^&*^%$ daily.

What strategy are you talking about? CoE stratagey=stack on the Alpha boss. The further you are from him the more dmg he does. Come on, what kind of crap is that? People play ranged classes because that fits the play style they enjoy. But they are forced to get a melee weapon and stack….

You don’t even have a real healer class in this game and the so called tanks go down as fast as the light armor players in your dungeons. So now we can’t even use a wp and run back into the fight? Thanks, now a dungeon run will last 2 hours instead of 20 min.

Getting rid of Combo killer now…….. does not help those who missed the daily already because of it…. So it was still a FAIL.

People need to remember that the daily system IS NOT YET COMPLETE with this patch. The system is designed to allow the player to choose 4 of 6 daily achievements to complete for the daily reward. This part of the system is not functioning YET. All of the new achievements aren’t even in the game yet, and some might get changed in the future.

When the system is fully functional, you can SKIP the CRAFTING DAILY.

If it isn’t “COMPLETE” then it shouldn’t have been put in the UPDATE!!!

Some people do not like to go into WvWvW but they like “Crafting” . Wonder how they would feel if they had to do WvW in order to finish the daily?

I never liked doing Fractals so I never did the monthly achievements. Now in order to get the daily done I have to team up with people just to do the combo killer….. this is a game killer for me.

The combo killer for the daily is just stupid. I agree that people should be fired over this new daily system…..

Actually, tbh I do talk this much smack IRL because I’m the big guy and can get away with it….but whatever works for stroking your online ego….afterall it’s your lie. And as someone else stated above and something for which you can research yourself if you took the time, Maguuma has been a fairly “stable” server in regards to where it sits in the brackets. It isn’t our fault that sometimes we like PvE a tad more than WvW and take time to enjoy the benefits of the game like holiday events and stuff.

DR is not going to keep up this week. We will get dominated from the start. We have had tool many weak sauce pansies that have jumped ship to other servers. Server jumpers should have to pay to move.

I can run around on PVE maps all I want. When I go into WvW the minute I run into 10+ people it crashes on me. I also have a late 2011 iMac with 8gigs of ram.

I can play any other mmo without a problem. I even play WOW on full rez while on GW2 I have all of the sliders on low. This and the fact that nobody from GW2 ever responds to anyone on these message boards lets me know they really just don’t care.

Goes to show how little ANet cares about the people who BUY this game. BTW why would these devs make it so you can turn off the profanity filter? If these people who are reporting others do not like profanity then they shouldn’t turn it off.

Just wondering why every single time this game crashes while I am in WvW I log back in & I am lying dead in Divinity Reach??? I was sitting there looking at the gear and it crashed and I still came back dead. Makes no sense at all. Never did this before this stupid Winter crap.

Something that you should know is that it constantly crashes on a Mac!
