Radical tuning/balancing behavior(?)

Anets tuning/balancing behavior seems radical everytime and most of the time over the top. My big question would be, why the devs cannot change things a little more fine tuned?

Some examples of radical tuning/balancing:
(I do not want to discuss if the changes where good or bad, only why they are so radical in my eyes)

1. Changes to icebow > its like they wanted to destroy the skillset damagewise, why the targetlimitation on 3 targets instead of 5, ontop of the 50% dmg reduction?

2. Dungeonreward > from 1 gold too 35 silver (example fz p1) a loss of 2/3 rounded, 1/2 would maybe been more resonable?

3. Maizbalm > instead of the 3 charges there are only 1 charge left, and if I am not mistaken only one ambiente creature will be changed, why not only one of the two changes for the start?

4. (newest) Softwoodlog into planks from 4 to 2: why not 3 logs for 1 plank like all the other woodrefinings?

Thats the examples in my head at the moment. If you have more fell free to add them to the list.

Maybe the mindset in these radical changes is: when we change, than we change it “good” to prevent aftertuning. But on the other hand, if the change is too extrem you have to change it a little back. So aftertuning or finetuning will be a thing, one way or the other.

So what do you think about the topic of anets-tuning behavior. Is it radical in your eyes or maybe not radical enough or is it good how it is?

@ Anet: Maybe one dev can explain why the tuning is like it is. I am only on the playerside and have no database, so it would be interessting to hear what drives your decisions.

Lastly a good wintersday to everyone

I have experienced the same today in silverwaste. Every escortevent gives ~1000 exp lesser exp-reward than the previous. I even ended up on ~1800 exp for the champevents after vinewrath… At first i thought i has overdone it with my necro who nearly lives in sw because i like her chilling gameplay and have designed her build specificaly for sw. I have switched charakter and went a second time to the silverwastes. At first it has looked like my exp has normalised. But then i noticed a reduction in exp gain after every event with the new charakter also. I dont know what it is, but i really think its wrong they way it is. I mean its like a sick joke if simply grinding cof p1 mobs is a better supported way to gain exp then running events on a map.

But as someone else pointed out in this thread the blog actually says they are replacing TS with shards of glory, they never say how many. So I am assuming that is where the difference comes in. We’ll probably get 5-10 in each bag making it much more reasonable.

Hm, that would be indeed reasonable. Somehow I were jumping to conclusion in thinking there would be only one shard per replaced transmutation charge. If it would really be 5-10 shards per (maybe) bag or something it would have serveral “positiv” aspekts. First Anet will get some sort of RNG and we all know how they love RNG Second the price would (maybe) be resonable.

We should furthermore assume that we need 100 shards for the hammer-haft and 100 more for the hammer-head. That would make 200 for tier one of the precurser. But at the end we doesn´t know if the shown numbers are final.

Can we “level” our masteries with tomes of knowledge?

All of my infos are very vague. Some guys say “No, you cannot.” others say “Yes, you can.” and all say “anet have said it”. So what can I believe? If you know the answer, could you pls give a link where anet has confirmed it?

At a sidenote, I personally hope we cannot level trough tomes of knowledge. In my eyes it would be a waste of the entery mastery system if this could be possible.

Then legendary crafting is a NO NO for me, I will not stand for being forced to play PvP by anyone. Ascended will have to do.

Bwahaha, now be happy. You can buy the PvP-Stuff. If you want more, I have no idea how Anet can help you. Like many others here and in other discussions pointed out: its a legendary journy, not a I only do what i want to do and get the best looking shiny journy.

The outcome of this depends on the quantity needed to complete a legendary.

You only get 2 per reward track it seems. If you need 10 then they probably won’t be too expensive. If you need 100, then I suspect they will be 100+ gold each.

It seems that you will need 100 shards of glory for tier 1 of the precursor. (Source: http://dulfy.net/2015/09/26/gw2-twitchcon-legendary-journey-in-hot/ look into the video, the screenshot is not the best to see how many you will need) Abou the quantity you will need for the other tiers of the precursur we only can assume. I think it would be possible to take 300 for a full precursor. That would be 150 full rewardtracks. I must say, really not bad.

Maybe Anet trys to make the ressource-aspekt of the pre-collection optainable for all game mods. I mean if a PvP player whats to do the pre-collection to craft a pre, he must get (Spiritwood Plank for example) somewhere. In most cases, they will more likly buy them, then spend there time in PvE farming for those. So the PvP player gets something he can sell to buy other parts he wants. It sounds like a fair deal. I hope WvW will get something along that line.

Guild Wars 2: Heart of Thorns will introduce Shards of Glory, a new tradable crafting material obtained through PvP.
From: https://www.guildwars2.com/en/news/pvp-reward-tracks/

So all off the people who were whining on how they don´t want to be “forced” to PvP are getting what they wanted. Now I should wait to hear something like: “It shouldn´t be tradeable, because… will be to costly… or should force people to pvp… or whatever”

I think its a good way to do this. I will most likely try to get most of the Shards trough PvP. If I need some more at the end or want to speed things up, I can buy them. PvPers get a (maybe) good sellable item, if they want gold and all the PvE-only-players are able to get there pre-collections without evil PvP.

But its only my opinion and I am curious how the rest of the forum might see this.

BW3 Difficulty Nerf [merged]

in Guild Wars 2: Heart of Thorns

DieFinn.3594

The difficulty in the previous BWE´s were really good.
Now its only disapointing.
But to reinforce these two points I want to tell a little bit about, why I think the difficulty in the previous BWE´s were imo perfect.

First is my father (he is not the forum guy, I even don´t know if he knows a forum exist). He is “only” a casual player. After over an year of playing this game, he still don´t understand most of the combatsystems. His builds are lackluster and he doesn´t know, what most of his skills even do. In short he is “a bad player” a casual to the core. BUT and this is really important! He enjoyed the first BWE´s even if he goes down like thousand times. Yes, at times he was alone he ranted sometimes, because he couldn´t figure out, why he was going down, but he rants in vanilla too. I roamed the new map with him, like always at first he was really bad and keep dying countless times. But after a while he adapt, he became more cautious in roaming this new map and so he became “better” at it. He still doesn´t understand a thing a the new map in view of combat mechanics but he were able to survie it and with other players around he was able to complet events without much frustration and enjoy the map to its fullest. (all at BWE2, I might confuse some grammatical tenses, its my bad point in english, srys for that)

Second myself: I am not the very best player, but I think i has understand most of the combat, have a descend build for my charakters and know what my classes are capable of. In BWE2 it was really fun to roam the map and at some points to push myself “to the limits” (a little bit overdramatic) to get trough the entcounters. It was a hell of fun, I really enjoyed the challenge. At the end of BWE2 I almost completed a nighttime defensiv group!-event on my own. I was there alone and had to play really to my limits. It was one of my greatest encounters in open world in the whole game. At the end I failed the event, because two or three mordrem were enough to get the “captureprogress” working in there favor. I pushed them out a few times, but was not able to negate there progress, so at the end Iit was a fail. But even with many mordrem I was able to hold my ground for a long time (~1 min were on the timer left at the end) and I hasn´t gone down once. Hell I even were running a full glasscanon build at that time, and still were able to survive.

TL;DR: Even my father (casual noobplayer to the core, who doesn´t understand most of the games combat, traits, skills he play and so on) was able to survive and enjoy the open world content at BWE2!
I myself (imo medium skilled player, to lazy to “learn” pro skillrotations, but in full understanding of combat mechanics, combos and traits/skill I play) was able to almost beat a nighttime defencive group!-event alone!, wihtout going down once in full berserkgear, full dps-traited.

If the difficulty will stay like now in BWE3, it will be a high blow to all of my enthusiasm in regards of HoT. I was really looking forward to the expac, especially for the new maps and the great experience in BWE2… now its only a pale shadow of this great experience!

Healer gear in a game without healers?

in Guild Wars 2 Discussion

Posted by: DieFinn.3594

DieFinn.3594

Its bugging me quite a time, but most off the people do forget that there were always a “healer” in the game. You can build a healguard who alone will be able to uphold health quite a while. Was it mandatory? Not at all. Was it needed in a good group? Not really. But what did it do then? It makes dungeons and fraktals a huge chunk releaxter. New people have the time to learn the encounter (learning per doing) or the whole group wanted to make a chillrun. Hell its even fun in its own way.

But! and thats really important here. Its not the fastest way. And in a time were everyone only looks on the gold/hour ratio its seems like no one wants that kind of play. Maybe or maybe not, who knows. I know nothing.

What people really need to get into there heads is the fact, that all paths are possible, but only one (and this will never change) is the fastest. You can in the past and in the future always play a “healer” but its not the classical mmorpg (ala wow) healer and in the content so far, its not the fastest way to deal with stuff. But it is releaxed, if you has the time and try it, you would be surprised how nice and smooh things can go. But knowleage about the content is important too. Don´t expect never to die if a “healer” is there, but you make everything “false”. As a last sidenote

Edit: Maybe other classes are capable in healing the whole time too (ele or engi, or what not). I personaly only tested guard in this way. So do not hit me, if your classes of choise are possible “healer” too

At the start i want to say, that i have no clue about economics and especilly the ingameeconomie. But my head has produced the following scenario:

1. You need t7 mats for certain parts of the pre-collection, for t7 you need t2-t5 mats and because people want things as fast as possible, they tend to buy mats, so all across t2-t5 and t7 mats will (maybe) increse in price

2. The incresed prices of the mats will (maybe) get more people to farm mats (because they are profitable), so the mass of mats will increse too (i hope you can understand what i wanted to say)

3. over a longtermlook the price of mats will stabilize maybe at the same value like today, or only slightly higher

I know its a really simple kind of view, but what do you think, how possible is such a scenario?

About the collections itself. I am really happy because they seem not to have (so far) included items who are based on rng. All of the shown things can be optained trough gaming, gathering, visiting and so on. Thats exactly what i wanted: to work towards an item/pre.

The only salt on top off this sweet cake are the complainers. I know everybody has his own opinion and its good this way, but its saddens me to see so much egoism in the complains. Its a huge gaming community with a huge number of individuals, so everything anet is doing, there will always be people who are not satisfied. But why must those people trample on the opinions from others? Why are so less comments like: “Its not my thing, because of ?!?, but i am happy about those who wanted ?!?”. No, its most of the time: “I don´t like ?!?, change that, (and mostly on top) all others are wrong, i am the only right” I know a part of this is only human, but on the other side most of the players are adults and should “controll there human natur” and be open, rational and friendly… ohoh, i lost the path… let it be the blabberbla of an sleepy guy at nightshift and move on

Pre-Collections reveal on HoT Launchday(?)

As soon as someone unlocks the requirements, they will be posted in Dulfy, the Wiki, and all over the web. No one that wants the information will be at a disadvantage to anyone else.

Seen from this standpoint, yes, i would say you are right. Even if there are some greedy players, who don´t “publish” these infos, there would be enough who do. So if I really want to, I probably would be able to get the info really fast.

Xstein.2187, you may be right too. In my mind were only collections like “treasure hunter” or “exotic dingsda” (with the exo weapons). But you are right in reminding me of the luminicense-collection. In these collections were only items you get trough the game or good avalyable vendors. And if I am not mistaken, only if you wanted to finish it as soon as possible you had to deal with RNG.

Main thing is Anet wants the players to discover things in game so they try to spoil little as possible! So No!!!!

Yep, I want to discover it ingame too. I blame the little voices in my head, who was wispering something like: “But what if you are to late and it will cost you a ton of gold.” or “If you may be fast enough you can make a huge amount of gold”. You know the tiny little voices who don´t want you to get fast asleep

Yeahyeah, if the mind wander and go crazy without reasons. I think i should relax, lay back and forget about fast gold or something like that. Even if i try, I suck really hard in that kind of sector. I should enjoy the expac in that kind of way, its the most fun for me

I think you fail to understand why we get precursor crafting in the first place.

And i think you fail to admit that there might be items in the collection who are or who need items we can buy from the tradingpost. It would be really nice, if all of the collections only include items we can only optain trough playing and not buying, but i fear there will we a few who you can get trough the tp or a huge amoungt of rng luck (i look at you: treasure hunter).

Pre-Collections reveal on HoT Launchday(?)

in Guild Wars 2: Heart of Thorns

DieFinn.3594

There is a crazy idea in my mind. It only works if the following would be true: the collections for precursurs would contain items who are sellable at the Traidingpost. Anet has stated they wouldn´t showcast whats in the pre-collection to prevent the crowd from panicbuying/selling. So i assume there would be items who can be bought per TP for the collection or who can be bought to upgrade it to the needed item. So my idea was to grind out the precursor mastery as fast as possible to know what its contain and maybe be able to make a huge profit from it, if i get to be one of the first to get these infos. But i question myself, would that be fair? Its one of the twosided medal thingis.

If someone grind out the masterytrack for the pre-collection, has he earned the (maybe) big profit on items who will become pricier because of the collection? Or is it “cheap play” from such a player to make a profit out of the players who want to enjoy the expac and get to the pre-collections later?

So an idea get into my head. What if Anet reveal the full lists of items needed for the pre-collections (or maybe only the old pre-collections or only t1 collection or so on)? Would that be fairer for all players? I mean someone who is interested in making a profit will still be able to try to do it. Look up whats needed and try to get the items before the huge playercrowd looked it up. Someone who is not interested can play the expac to his hearts contend but have nothing to complain at the end about the traders, because he would have been able to look it up.

So, what are your toughts on this topic: fair, unfair?

tl/dr: Would it be good if Anet reveals the items of the precursor-collection on launchday? What about trader who want to grind it out, to be the first on that info, to make a good profit? What about normal players who enjoy the expac and have to pay a higher price for items needed for the collection later? Fair? Unfair?

(Sry if my english is strange or false on some points, its not my native language)

I share the same concerns as the OP.

In fact I have a second concern. Anet has sayed they only show (and implement in the beta i guess) things, who are “ready” to show. So it seems in my eyes the forge and the druid were the last professions “ready”. It seems these two professions give them the hardest times to “ready up”. I would say they originaly wanted to have all specialisations in BWE 2, but forge and druid were not ready at that time. So not only these two have lesser time for testing and adjusting. They have lesser time and! the devs seems to had problems programming/designing the two profession. Not a good match in my opinion.

There is (for me) a new bug ingame. So I wanted to check if the bug was reported by others and try to search it. But the searchfunktion seems bugged, too. I have a bug in the Concordia LS S2 instanz and wanted to search. Tipped “Concordia” and nothing changed, added an blank and the search goes: “No Results”

Holykittenlord, what is this?

For fun I searched for “revenant” in the “HoT Subforum” -> No Results
Seems like no one at the HoT! Subforum is talking about the new class. Ok let us go to the “Revenant Subforum” -> and wow “Found 6 results.” … in the whole subforum of this class only 6! post seems to have the word “revenant” in it. Pls tell me this is a joke?

Ok, maybe the wrong is on my end. I mean I only tipped the word I was searching for, maybe there is a special-secret-must-do-move to get a good result. If so, then pls Anet (or whoever is in charge of the forum) tell me about this mysterium, so i can master the secret arts of forum searches.

I simply like strange lfg-messages. So a thief (from the p1 run) and shortly after a ele joined. So while we are waiting for others we cleared the path to the first champ. 10 minutes later we were still 3 people, so I decided to change the lfg-message to: “P3: Come on bord”. 3 Seconds later we were full. I agree in terms of the UI, as it stands now it is a little bit confusing. Furthermore it would be nice too be able to track the next reward without going at the map to look it up everytime. Some little windows over the map (maybe with an on/off option, if people do not want to clutter there monitor with it) or something like that would be nice.

I keeped track of how many events get rewarded and ended up on every second event. Can the others agree with that? And like the others said, it is ok not to reward every event, but a little highlight that you have gotten the reward would be really nice.

The variety of rewarditems seems fine to me. I think it will give a way to farm spezific items if you want so.
Will it be more efficiently in contrast to “goldfarm and then item buying”: atm i don´t think.
Should it be more efficiently in contrast to “goldfarm and then item buying”: Maybe, maybe not, but I think it would be really nice if the two systems would be more or less equal from a time-investment point of view. But I have absolutly no knowledge of the games economie, so I don´t know if this would be possible.

I am someone who likes to work/farm for spezific items/mats etc. but atm it is frustrating, because there are no reliable ways to farm things or it is way! more efficient to simply farm gold in (imo) unfun ways. These new maprewards looks promising. Keep going and make it great anet

[Suggestion] Buying Hero-Points

in Guild Wars 2 Discussion

DieFinn.3594

How would I do it so that WvW players could obtain their HP in WvW?

  1. Implement a new WvW rank track for Hero Points that caps at the same number of points available via challenges. Update this number as Challenges are added to the game.
  2. Adjust the number of Wvw Rank points needed so that the amount of time spent actively pursuing the total points is roughly the same. This would take some skull work and testing. Use an intern.
  3. Create a one-time choice option for Hero Points over the 398 obtained for being L80. Players choose to obtain them via Hero Challenges or via WvW ranks.
  4. If they choose Challenges, they do the limited Challenges.
  5. If they choose WvW ranks, they get theirs by playing WvW.
  6. If they already have some from PvE, the system subtracts that number (which is already in a data base) from the total available via ranks. That number becomes their new baseline.

That’s a notional system that undoubtedly has its own flaws, the largest of which would likely be resources to create and implement.

This looks really great, I would follow your suggestion. And thank you for pointing out the flaws of my idea. You regained my hope in forumposts

(Also, easy solution: do your skill points while sitting in the reset night queue.)

Thats the best I read so far. Thank you for giving me the feeling that you read more than the headline Maybe the group who profit from such an option is to small to even bother. Why should I even bother, I have no problem in doing map-exploration and so the challenges.

OP – I am a bit lost what you even want. As has been pointed out multiple times you get all the hero points you need by level 80. It is better than before where the skill points you had by 80 did not unlock everything. So what is the point? Do you want to buy the traits again for some reason?

You on the other hand. You give me the feeling you read near to nothing. I have pointed out multiple times that this will first show effect when HoT hits. Because only then comes new specializations and so on. Believe it or not, I figured myself, that I can unlock all coretraits and utilitys at level 80.

And to the rest. Do not bother anymore. Only 24 h and I have enough of the forum for a year. Why should I bother and think about other players or try to make constructiv posts… when they aren´t read by most of the other posters.

So in short words:
- you can buy the hero-points of a map, after that the challenges are done

I’m not trying to be combative here but, if the challenges are complete, you get the Hero Point. What is there left to buy?

Its simple, lets go trough this one by one (example Caledon Forest):
1. You has nothing on this map, but are in need of hero-points
- Caledon Forest has 7 hero-challenges
2. You go to the NPC and invest 7 gold and 700 Badges of Honor
3. You get the 7 points and the 7 challenges are done, without visiting the map once

To prevent further irritation. If you have done maybe 3 of the 7 already, you get only! the last remaining 4 points. Simple as that.

Wow, I am simply amazed. First about the really, really bad and gamebreaking thing I suggested. And second on how I get the feeling that most people only has seen the headline and don´t read the text at all. Ok, maybe to much text, I tend to long text, a bad habit of mine.

So in short words:
- you can buy the hero-points of a map, after that the challenges are done
- the limitation on the total number of hero-points will be still intact
- this will only matter after HoT is online (aka specialization)

And to prevent abuse while leveling or pay to win, it could only be available for level 80 charakters.

Please tell me, what is the big and bad difference between this suggestion and the former option to pay gold and skill-points to unlock traits?

[Suggestion] Buying Hero-Points

in Guild Wars 2 Discussion

DieFinn.3594

Hui, thats a huge load of questions you got Rasimir
Let me try to answer them with my own thoughts.

What happens to map exploration if a character buys the hero points? Do they count towards map exploration? Do they get a different icon to show the points are bought but not unlocked, and you have to redo them for full exploration?

In my scenario you will unlock the hero-challenges like you have done them. So they will count towards world-exploration. As a little reminder, it would cost 198 gold and maybe 19800 Badges of Honor, if we add them. This would be a huge amount only to get all hero-challenges and therefor not really attractiv (for me).

And if you get to unlock the use of hero points through whatever currency, why can’t I buy an unlock to use a waypoint I haven’t been to yet? e.g. to get someplace for guild missions?

I tought about waypoints too, but dropped the idea, because for everything you need full world-exploration or most of the waypoints now, one charakter is enough at the moment. You can do guild missions easily with the one charakter who has the most or all waypoints. The currency and the items you gain are all accountbound.

How about the upcoming masteries? If I can pay for character progression (in the shape of hero points for elite specialisations), can I also pay for account progression (in the shape of automatic mastery points/mastery bars)?

Good question. I would say the little detail here is the difference between charakterbound and accoundbound progression. With the new masteries you has to do the gating content one time and get the rewards for all charakters, but if you want hero-points on mutiple charakters you has to do it mutiple times.

If not, why is that pve player over there allowed to progress their mastery bar to gain access to new legendary precursors (and ultimately weapons) by playing their prefered content (pve), and this wvw player isn’t (since they can’t progress the legendary mastery in wvw)?

To craft a legendary weapon you need to do most likely more or less PvE now and I think it will stay this way. So a WvW player who wants a legendary weapon (new or old, it dosn´t matter) has to do PvE content (like running dungeons for the specific gift). But he don´t need to get a legendary weapon to play WvW the most effectiv way. It is his own choice, if he want some fancy weapon or not. But if he should need one of the specialization to play WvW the most effectiv way, he is forced to get the hero-challenges.

And this “forced” is my mainpoint. PvE players have to yell a long time, that they do not want to be forced to do WvW for world-exploration. So one patch Anet changed that. Why would it be such a big deal if Anet implement a way for WvW players, not to be forced to go out and do the hero-challenges?

[Suggestion] Buying Hero-Points

in Guild Wars 2 Discussion

DieFinn.3594

To clarify an important thing first: In my suggestion somebody would only be able to buy the points of a map, nothing more, because they are and should be limited. Furthermore Anet could control the value of one point easily trough the “pricetag”.

If things are removed or changed solely to keep players from having to play content they do not like, then they might as well just auto-level everyone to level 80, give everyone every legendary out there, double of appropriate legendaries, full ascended gear and trinkets, and every other reward out there.

It’s a slippery slope when they change things so that players don’t have to do content they don’t like to do for rewards.

This is a good and fair point. I admint it will be dangerous for the game if suggestions like mine are implemented without toughts. If every “I don’t like it, so give it to me for gold or more better, for free.” will get realised, then someday you can do everything in the game by doing nothing and that would be really boring.

But unlike the PvP-rewardtracks (for example, see niea´s post) the hero-points from map-exploration would be mandatory to get the new specializations and/or utilitys. And so it would be more a “I must do it, to play with the new specialization” as a “I like the rewards but not the content who gives the rewards”.

If we suggest that most likely the WvW-players would be the ones who profit from such an implemation, maybe we should gate the hero-points more for this special group of players. This could be done for example with the pricetag. 1 gold would be easily payable for every player. So lets add 100 Badges of Honor for an example and it should be more addressed to WvW-players only.

[Suggestion] Buying Hero-Points

And you can unlock all skills and traits by simply leveling to 80. They would only need to go out and do Hero Challenges if they wished to do the elite specialization and had spent all of their Hero Points already.

And thats the point. There are people who dislike or hate doing map-exploration. Some off the hardcore-WvW players have charakters with zero worldexploration. If the system stays at it is in gaining hero-points, when HoT comes and those players want to use or maybe must use a specialization on one of this charakters with zero exploration, he is forced to go and make the challenges.

Before some amount of time PvE players were forced to go into WvW to get the 100% world-exploration. Many PvE player who disliked or hated WvW criticized this system. And they were right about it to a certain amount. (After a long time) Anet changed this and excluded the WvW-maps from world-exploration. But I fear in the future are WvW players forced to do something they hate, only to fully enjoy what they like. I think this is not right.

Maybe the NPC should stay in the Homeborderland because I thing the WvW players would be the ones who want to use such a feature the most.

Ironicly I myself wouldn´t use such a feature, because I have no problem with exploration. It is not what I enjoy the most, but i would rather go and do hero-challenges than spend gold for the points.

[Suggestion] Buying Hero-Points

In one of the first announcment on the converting of skill-points to hero-points Anet has given the idea that someone need to explore a certain amount of hero-challenges to unlock all abilitys and traits. (see: https://www.guildwars2.com/en/news/specializations-part-two-reward-tracks-and-elite-specializations/ ) Short before the patch with the core-specializations hit, they announced that you will get enough hero-points trough leveling, that you can unlock all core-features at level 80. (see: https://forum-en.gw2archive.eu/forum/game/gw2/Skill-points-and-Spirit-Shards/first#post5187859 )

This was a nice way to change things and before the second announcement there were many critical voices who wanted too play for example WvW without bothering with map-exploration. Now everyone with a certain amount of map-exploration has a stockpile of (atm) useless hero-points and the community is speculating if they are for the new specializations and there utilitys. And I think these speculations are right. But I fear they will bring back the critics from people who like to play WvW only or people who do not enjoy map-exploration, but both groups of people will enjoy or maybe need one or two of these new features. And this is the point were my idea begins.

At the core its simple: Why not buy the heropoints?

The heropoints will be limited trough the number of hero-challenges, so simply buying 5 or 20 or whatever number wouldn´d do the job. So the NPC who sell the hero-points should not sell blank points, he should sell the points from the maps. The idea is, that you could go to the NPC select maybe “Caledon Forest” and get all hero-challenges of this particular map done aka you gain the exact amount af 7 hero-points the Caledon Forest has to offer. Should you has done maybe 3 off the 7 hero-challenges you will get simply the rest done aka you get the rest 4 hero-points.

What could be the price of this?
My suggestion would be 1 gold per hero-point. So in example of the Caledon Forest it will cost 7 gold to unlock all hero-challenges on this map. If the specialization tracks cost the same amount of hero-points, then it will cost 60 gold to unlock the full track trough this methode. In my opinion a fair price, but sure a point we can discusse about.

Will this affect the world-exploration?
I think not. Buying all hero-challenges for world-exploration would be 189 gold if you follow my price-suggestion of 1 gold per hero-point. And at this point the person gets only the challenges done, nothing more. He or she has to run the entery map for the rest of it and I doubt a normal player would invest such a amount of gold only to spare maybe an hour for the full world-exploration.

After going this trough my head a second time it seems as a reasonable idea. With this a full fletched WvW-Player will get his hands on enough hero-points to unlock all he wants with gold. Someone who dislike map-exploration can choose if he wants to spend the gold for the points or bite in the pillow and go trough the exploration. And people who likes exploration could ignore this.

Last but not least I have no idea how hard it would be to implement something like this. Furthermore I have no idea if there should be a fix price for every map (like 7 gold for Caledon Forest ignoring the fact that you might already have 5 of the 7 hero-points) or a dynamic one (like to unlock the last 2 hero-challenges cost you 2 gold).

PS: English is not my first language, so please excuse mistakes or bad spelling.

Hm, the revenant has hammer for 1200 range. Another range weapon with 900 range would be nice, but another 1200 range weapon? I do not think we will get another. Guard as an example has only one 1200 range option, too.

Sry Threatopener, but you seem to forget other weapons on other classes. The staff is not DPS on Revenant? The Short-Bow is not DPS on Ranger. The Staff on Guard has low DPS. What do you want?

Minimum prices blocks TP

in Bugs: Game, Forum, Website

DieFinn.3594

Maybe it is more a technical issue and not a bug, but i believe this topic belongs here nevertheless.

The TP shows minimum prices for items in relation to its npc-merchantprice. Bying or biding under this minimum price is not possible. But there are offerings out there, that undercut this minimum price. No one can buy this items, because the TP says you have to pay the minimum price. But to pay the minimum price is not possible, because of the undercutting offers. Therefor these specific items are blocked, you cannot buy or sell the items at the TP.

Maybe the items are to irrelevant to bother for most of theplayers. But I think it is a question of the principles of the TP and should be looked into. I think we as players should be able to buy or sell every item on the TP, but these (maybe old biddings) are hindering us.

I suggest anet clears the TP out and erase all undercutting biddings. Or move them up to the minimum price. I mean they were doing a “big” overhaul on the TP, but are not able to see this (maybe small) problem. I have no idea how hard it is to correct this, but a comment on this topic would be nice.

Uhm, excuse me if I am wrong, but isn´t it noted in the GW2 Wiki that the aura of an offhandlegendary would be overwriten by the aura of an onhandlegendary. Before I has crafted my howler I was reading the articel of it and I think there was something mentioned.

Hm only thing i found is: " Footprints of a legendary equipped in the main hand will override any footprints of a legendary equipped in the offhand."

So i may be wrong with my sleepy brain

Mystery Cave, no melee

DieFinn.3594

I was replaying “No Return” and went to the Mystery Cave Part. All no problem, first time with ranger, now with warrior. Get the dragon in the flaming-phase and wanted to bash his face with my greadsword and… nothing… ok, maybe not the right place with hitbox and so on. Next try and… nothing… switch to bow and i see the first damage on boss. Ok, so he can take damage. Switch to greatsword, took boss in target and rush. Now I stand in the hitbox, in theory, but… Nothing!

Now the question: Is this a bug or a great new feature?

I mean it looks like you need! a range weapon or you are kittened. First I liked the design of the boss, it was more then pure dps… but without the option to bash his ugly face with a meleeweapon of own choice. This is insane, purely insane.

its excitin to see areanet making trinty happen in gw2 so we can play how we want instead of stuk with meta alway

Two things are buging me on this statement. First: How will “Waiting for an tank or healer” be a good way to play how we want. Lets face it, it will be a forced trinity or the “normal” dmg to kill in a few seconds thing. Second: Meta will be Meta, you connot get rid of it. Now its "zerker"meta. If trinity comes in a forced way, it will be "trinity"meta. It is like saying “i do not like jack russel because of the dog-part, so i switch to german sheepherd”.

Too sudden build up of LA

in Guild Wars 2 Discussion

DieFinn.3594

From the feeling it would be better if LA is rebuild in several stages imo, but to do so, anet must create severeal buildingstages and the map must be updated a few times and that will likely cost a huge amount of ressources i think. I understand the request fully with on part of myself, but another part tells me it will be highly unlikely to happen. And if you ask me from another viewpoint, i would say, they should place the ressources in developing new stuff over a literaly cosmetic feeling of rebuildtime in stages.
(I hope my english is understandable and not the worst)

I am happy to see that I am not the only one who is bugging this

Today i snaped again. Wanted to do a releaxed SW-eventrun and tada cf-train. I have nothing againsed cf, but I was not in the mood. So I looked in lfg. First group > map full. Second goup > map full… and then the message. I thought, wtf is this

Only two groups and the restriction snapes in, please, this is really rediculous.

For the record. After login I joined cof p1 group. After that I explored queensdale for an hour. So maybe it can be seen as I joined 3 groups before I got the message. But this fact doesn´t make it anything better.

Ok, rant of today. I really hope anet will lock into this, somewhat in the near or maybe far future xD

…please wait a moment before trying to join again.

In the past I get this messege a few times, when i tried to join a silverwastemap. I was unlucky, the map was full, so i go for next group. Maybe ok to restriced this, maybe not. It was a pain in the butt, but I waited a few moments and is was ok. But today I joined 1! group, got instantly on silverwastemap and all was good. After half an hour the map was done and i would like to join an FotM partys… and the game tells me I have “joined too many, pls wait”. Charakterrelog: same message. Game off and on: same messege and now after 10 min of writing this text… same message. Too hell with this, I want to play, even if in my guild or on my friendlist no one is online.

At first i thought to post this in the bugforum, but on second thought, why is this even in game in such a strict restriction. I can understand if they want to cut the joining after 20 oder maybe 30 attempts, but after roughly 5 times i try to join an sw map for example. Its rediculous.

I even have no single clue why this should restricted in the first place. Maybe I am not creative enough to think of a way to “abuse” the lfg with joining after joining and so on. Even if the restriction itself has a purpose, I really think it shouldn´t be restricted this hard (5-7 groupjoines and happy waiting time). If it would be restricted after 20+ joins it would bother less, i think.

Hm, maybe it is a typing error on anets side. They tell us everytime this should be the basic idea and they need to adjust the numbers, so i think maybe there are spelling and typing errors too. Imo it would make sense to assume they mean somethink like: 7% from your vitality goes into ferocity.

If they really mean healing power, I am not sure if they hasn´t lost a few cups…

I have writen an ingamereport and two reports over the website (two accounts, me and my girlfriend). If there will be any response i will tell you.

The bug is horrible. My girlfriend is a rangerlover. She has 5 rangers on lvl 80 and is struggeling really hard with this issue. Yesterday she refused to run dungeons and fraktals with the guildis, because she is afraid of wiping the party because the pet goes leeroy… It is sad to see her losing fun on the game.

And i was concidering to participat on the pvp-ladder-test. I am most experienced with the ranger in pvp (and have the most fun). Now i can hardly participat because in worst case i will be a big hindrance to my team because my pet is out of control.

I can live with the new dailys, like they are. But on thing is bugging me. Why is “Do 4 Events” only on one Map. If it were on a Zone (like Maguuma) the player will scatter more (hopefully) and the events of one maps wouldn´t be overrun.

I haven´d read the thread, so sorry if this was mentioned before.
