I’d of preferred that they just got rid of being able to get the chest (or guaranteed rare) if you were guesting. Hell, it should have kicked guesters automatically if a server native tried to get into the map. This could have been solved multiple better ways.
Like others have said, Anet keeps kittening people over with multiple alts.Disagree, this is a good compromise that doesn’t break guesting, and is better for the over all game cause now the economy won’t be flooded with Rares. it is clear that Home server is just for WvWvW purposes, and that home server means nothing in PvE.
for the 10 hours it takes chasing all the dragons down i could sit in the middle of cursed shore and farm events and get MORE yes i said more yellows then the bosses drop

Other then scavenger hunt for pre-cursors, which they have not stated when it will be released nor ever hinted at it, is the only time they talked about another way to find precursors.

Anet hasn’t lied about anything. They implemented a solution to a problem – which was overly generous IMO – that had unforeseen consequences. No test scenario in the world would have caught it. I honestly believe the one guaranteed rare per account per day deal should have been implemented from the start.
I’d think after 25 years of real world gaming experience would give you atleast some manner of hindsight to understand the rationale of making a mistake. If you’re really not happy, go back to WoW, see if Blizzard treats you any better… >.>

ive got over 2000 hours in this gaem and havent seen one pre drop ever last night i went to look for spark on tp 1 spark today theres 5 all for 700 gold which means i have to break out my ZERKER ALT and GRIND cof p 1 over and over only becuase the exploit of the npcs not following you like as in other games is taken advangate of to the point where over flow is not only on dragon events but the preevent to cof on some servers is overflow wtg anet

I have got them farming the grenth event when it was glitched in the beging of the game i farmed the cannon spot and got 5 keys with only 150 mag find on in 4 hours, the kills were pirates on the shore lines , so i assume u can farm them from killing thing that have broken lock picks.
It’s looking like we might hang around as a thorn in the side of T3 another week yet. Early, but so far gained more points than Mag has in T4. It’s got to be SoS’s remaining high rank though, when that settles to a proper place it will be harder to gain.

Do we have euro players on NA servers? I thought the ping difference would make them suffer more than playing in their own region.
Your idea is a good concept but the technological limitations would cause more lag when playing against people from other side of the world. The lag is bad enough as it is with culling.

This is a great idea, because i play a NA server already and forced to read languages i dont know,so why not unite all server i mean wvw is garbage right now any way, and fail to see anet fix anything to do with it. On dragonbrand server, we are stuck in mid T3 where the lower tier come ups are overpowered, and the tier 2 drop outs overpower us .
Sick cycle that is very very endless, all though it is fun its very demoralizing to servers.
why not have a weekly rating where every day you get put up with server of the same wvw player numbers, and work for weekly point counts, so it calculates the points every server got at the end of week and take tiers away all together.
Zergs are the SHIZ thats not the problem, it"s spending server money on upgrades that can be taken in less time then the upgrade it self. I say anet should give us what we want zerg zeplins invun buffs mabey for a hour every 3 hours for for camps and towers mabey, bigger and better seige weapons, and bigger and better guild bounus, and server bonus.

Hello i was just wondering peoples opinions on snowball servers, you know the ones that you fight for weeks on end, only for server jumpers to leave the lossing server.
Now that anet has gem transfers, it dont stop servers from asking to go up the ladder with certain guilds. Should transfers only be honored a few times, or mabey even go up every time you transfer?
I for one think its a good idea to stop the outrages and dissapointment.

Everyone always says blah blah blah well for one it isnt march yet, two anet dont respond cause they created something they dont know how to evaluate with out the curent system, three its every tier up too tier two that has problems. If anet thinks its fun fighting the same server over and over knowing the first time fight was a loss and players will return to wvw atmospheer under the presumption that they will win in one of the weeks,and then the winning teams never leave that tier its way way to much for me to stand, absolutley no way for my server to progress in wvw with our number but we are a tier 3 ranked server its jokes and needs to be fixed.
How come everyone say oh cheatin this and hackers that,the real fact is its crap game programing i got 10 infractions last week for accusing WM from kaineng of boting you will get infracted as well just report all glitchs,dont talk about it anet gets there pantys in a bunch cause of the CRAP game programing.

My guild and I have killed many WM running along the road who do not respond at all, definitely something strange going on. Either they are so devoted to their leader they do not deviate from his instructions at all (i.e., they’re insane) or they’re botting.

You do realize that recruitment is done through exactly the above video right? You don’t get in if you can’t move, and can’t stay together. Movement and following your team is mandatory, follow targets is easy, but staying together with the group isn’t as easy as it sounds. It’s an easy mechanic to check whether someone has tunnel vision or not, and identify who might not listen.
They may also be having fun. They are humans ;-)
You hear great stories about many guilds. WM is a great guild, and even better for opening some doors to bring up other players who want to learn or improve on those things.
…but when something plainly suggested falls on deaf ears, and people want to join a made up witch hunt, it gives them something to do (shrugs). Both threads sadly look like a whirlwind of 5 people emailing each other back and forth, and to date … 1 useful post. It’s different looking from the outside in.
It’s unfortunate, and people give kaineng, always give kaineng a rough ride, because someone says something at the wrong time. Well, in any event at least the tiers are so skewed … we won’t be the only ones going through it anymore. And yes, after 4 weeks of apologizing, people from other servers don’t give a kitten, and kick you in the teeth regardless. Eventually… we’re numb to it, and missing all teeth. But we’re still here.
Not looking forward to this next match up either.

I didn’t see anyone on the server Kaineng coming forth with a guild botting on there server either tho. Aiding and abetting a criminal offense which using those programs are illegal for this game. Just keep trying to defend that server.

How can a smaller server rank up in wvw, when full servers run the top tiers?
Will there ever be a server ally system in wvw?
In the run up to the end of free world transfers we saw large population changes as people settled in to their home servers. This means that the WvW teams being fielded by many of the worlds are now dramatically different. In recognition of this fact, and in light of the increased population stability that comes with paid transfers, we feel that this would be a good time to reset the ratings of all the servers. A reset at this point will allow the rating & ranking system to more quickly and correctly rate these (effectively) new WvW teams.
Here’s how the reset will work:
1) We’ll let the current matchup play out. Since free transfers were available during the first part of this matchup we don’t want it to count towards the new ratings.
2) When the matchup rolls over on Friday, February 1st we’ll post the final ratings & rankings. The new ordering will determine the groupings for the next matchup as usual.
3) After the new matchup has started on February 1st we’ll reset all the ratings (and deviation & volatility) behind the scenes.Because every world will have reset ratings the system will treat the February 1st matchup as the first matchup and will calculate the ratings accordingly. The new ratings will then be calculated normally in the way that you’re already familiar with. We expect several weeks of volatility while the ratings settle down but we believe that it will ultimately yield a more correct result more quickly than letting the current ratings persist. That also means that the coming month or two will be a fantastic time to fight for your world’s place in the rankings!
Additionally, we’re taking advantage of the reset to revisit some of the math behind the ratings. I’ll have more to post on that once we’ve crunched some numbers and made some decisions.

25 real money should get you 50 gold in game money thats the simple basic thing they could grant me for buying the real life gem cards but botted gold and farmed gold dictate the “trading”. its preety garbage and i hate it no way ever in a VIDEO games should one $ of my real life money get me only 1 gold of the vid money no way ever EVER EVER should it b like that .
the real problem is the anet dont fancy the people who buy real gem cards from game stores more then the botted gold and farmed gold on the market cause more then half the money was botted by glitched events and all the real farmers but a gold converter has to deal in that whack market its a real shame and let down that i cant even have a merry christmas becuase of botted and farmed markets competing with gem card conversion

I’m concerned over ascended gear. Is Guild Wars 2 supposed to be moving towards traditional MMO progression? One of the reasons I stepped away from WoW and others was so that I could enjoy an MMO at my own pace without the risk of being excluded by something like Gear Score.

I can see your concern, our goal with ascended items is to fill the gap in our progression between exotics and legendary as well as give us a new tool with the infusion slot to give more depth of rewards by offering new and interesting infusions that are directed at different game types.And that answers absolutely nothing, we have gotten just as much from the blogpost…

the fact is a net said this would b a cosmetic game and if its not then large playerbase will leave and up and comers will have no help lvling u need people there u need players with you at all times of the game basicly to get events and pre events done no joke i tryed to do stuff alone in this game and everyone to busy farming glitched events to even care to unlock dungeons and everything get daily chests when chest dont produce better drops then farming mobs do thats sad. But YES new cosmetic gear is a great thing new maps great thing new stats the dont over power WVW great thing .
the thing about this mistake is player base really really dictates the dificulty of the events and everythign around u in the inviroment have fun playing new content when the player base leaves and no one is helping u with events good luck completing any of it.
