See this recent interview with Colin Johanson. The dragon question is brought up at 15:20 mark.
Assuming that Anet would introduce another playable race, what would you like it to be?
1) Harpies – Who wouldn’t want to fly?
2) Centaurs – Because 4 legged is awesome!
3) Skritt – Always works in teams of 3 (when you make 1 character, you get 3!). Strength and intelligent in numbers!

Tonight, I decided to drink my stash of Liquid Karma and buy Lost Orrian Jewelry Boxes.
I had +90% karma buffs: 50% from Karma Booster, 15% from Guild 24 hour boost, 15% from Karmic Infusion, 5% from Bowl of Saffron-Mango Ice Cream, and 5% from a Karma Banner. (Another 5% can be obtained by using the new 10% Guild Banners)
I started with 1,964,101 Karma. 1530 Lost Orrian Jewelry Boxes later, I was down to 3361 karma. So each box really costs 1282 karma, because all boxes give karma in the form of drops, tastes, vials, and swigs.
From the 1530 boxes I got 23g 45s and 239 Obsidian Shards. So each Obsidian Shard has a 15.6% (less than 1 out of 6) chance to drop. By comparison, an Obsidian Shard is 2100 Karma from the Temple of Balthazar so the Karma I used could have bought 933 Obsidian Shards.
I got a total of 64 Lodestones (I include Pile of Putrid Essence). So each Lodestone has a 4.2% chance to drop. There are 8 different types of Lodestones. My results have a maximum of 11, a minimum of 5, a mean of 8, and a median of 8. The variance is 4.75. Despite the high variance, I expect they are each equally likely to drop. 64 is a small sample size amongst 8 types.
I got 15 Risen Priests of Balthazar. So the Risen Priest of Balthazar has approximately a 1% chance to drop.
I got 3 Hard Potions. So the Hard Potion has approximately a 0.2% (1 in 500) chance to drop. (This value does not have a high confidence interval due to the abysmally small sample size. Two of the Hard Potions actually dropped in a row.)
I stumbled upon an interesting tidbit. Very rarely (at least twice for me) you can get 4 Swigs of Liquid Karma from one Lost Orrian Jewelry Box. These have a base value of 3000 Karma, I was getting 5700 Karma from each, so a single box can give you 22800 Karma.
Conclusion:
In my tests, using 1,960,740 karma I obtained 239 Obsidian Shards and 86g 02s 05c after selling everything. If we value Obsidian Shards at 2100 karma then 1,458,840 karma is worth 86g 02s 05c.
So each 1 karma is worth 0.58965 copper via this method.
For reference, capturing a Keep in WvW without any buffs gives 1,360 karma, a value of 8s 02c in addition to the 7s 84c from the event. Karma gained from events is worth more than the coin given. This becomes more profitable if you have karma buffs. A Karma Booster would add another 4s 01c for example.
I also got the mini. Well, 15 minis, but they’re account bound, so kitten that noise.
TL;DR I spent an hour of my life buying boxes, opening them, and using the liquid karma. I probably double-clicked over 6000 times (1530 purchases, 1530 openings, and a ton of Drop of Liquid Karma. kitten that noise! I want that hour of my life back; and my sanity.
I know a lot of the games have the fishing system. When i saw those fishers in game. I really want to do some fishing in game? Do you guys think they will make a system about it? and maybe add some fish as food?
I am skritt. Sometimes I take shinies. I like shinies. So many shinies. But mean dragons! Hrrrngh! This is my story.
Are the lost items all available in game right now? Or will others be added as the Living Story continues? Because I could only find two refugees, and two lost items.
From the post right above yours:
Initially, you will see two refugees. When further phases of the event unlock, and the refugee area in Lion’s Arch grows in size, you will find new people to talk to who may also be missing items.

Asura ranger: Dr Doolittle
Mine goes to a human female ranger – “Sara Farcher”.
lol say it fast!
I just heard news that Cantha might not ever be making its way back into GW2 as an unnamed artist for Anet has said: "NCsoft was firm in its decision to stay away from “Asian” themes and keep it “universal.” ArenaNet had to make adjustments quickly. A small number of you may recall that the human story was originally split by Canthans/Elonians/Ascalonians instead of the current Streets/Commoner/Noble paths. Divinity’s Reach originally had sections dedicated to the three cultures as well (Ossan Quarters & Rurikton are the current “versions” perhaps?) ArenaNet obeyed NCsoft’s suggestion and halted all Canthan productions, including the once-existing Canthan sector of Divinity’s Reach…. Because of time restrictions, they had to erase the Canthan sector of DR quickly. The current result is “The Great Collapse.” It’s an inside joke now, she says. The “Collapse” symbolizes what was once an idea that didn’t make it all the way. She further states that ArenaNet had to come up with some new lore to cover up the lack of Canthan content — hence the Emperor’s decree (read lore on Wiki). That’s all I have."
Regardless if this true or not, it is ridiculous. The game world is made universal because it has more than one type/race of human. In GW1 I saw it like this:
Kryta= Greece, Ascalon =European, Istan and Kourna= African, Vabbi and Orr= Arabic and lastly Cantha represented Asia, mostly China/Japan/Korea. That universal diversity is what made Guild Wars such a compelling game. By trying to represent most cultures, you created something universal. I think it is a huge mistake that NCsoft think that universal should mean some sort of one ‘common race’, that because of sexual mingling has come about. That being the only way for it to come about… It is unbelievable to think that entire continent can be erased from a game for the sake of PR.
Cantha and Factions had some of the very best concepts about it in terms of map design and cultural lore. From The training Island to the main land the entire game was beautiful, and the giant city, felt like a giant city. I have actually gotten myself lost in it many times. In fact for quite a lot of people I know, Factions is what got them playing GW in the first place… I know that doesn’t count for much but still.
But what I am most annoyed about, is that you guys (anet) have always been ‘we talk to our player-base’ If this about Cantha is true, then surely this is something we need to talk about. As this is no small thing, it is an entire section of lore and some of your best work going down the drain for no real good reason. Even if this is a thing set in stone, I think it is unfair that the player-base’s opinions go left unheard. It could even be possible that if NCsoft realise how much we love that part of the game, they might change their minds. After the whole Mass effect thing, I think anything is possible with enough voices.
Anyway I just thought I should say something and hopefully people agree and that we can rescue Cathan from the ideas bin.

Yes, Thieves do lack options which is why we tend to gravitate heavily to what works. It also means there aren’t a lot of choices for people who chose to follow a particular build (bleed vs. crit).
I mean realistically, how many weapon choices does a Thief have who specializes on Condition Damage?
I also agree about the missed opportunities with the combo-system. I mean skill-combos are great, but they seem so useless in the overall scheme of things.
Proposal 1: No!
Proposal 2: No!
Proposal 3: No!
Proposal 4: No!
Sounds like you just suck at playing the game and need to get better.
Almost all classes can deal massive damage, and kill just as fast as a thief if built as a glass cannon (though some can do this even without being a full glass cannon), and played right.
Moreover, backstab takes the most amount of effort and awareness to deal its full damage. BV is not an excuse anymore either since it is not a paralyze, but instead a stun. You’re just plain bad if you’re still dying to these thieves. Learn to use stun counters.
These are all just terrible suggestions!!!
