Thank you to the entire team for all your efforts. Often the effort it takes to get content to the shippable stage is akin to climbing a cliffside without any gear. Previously, regular updates did set a precedent for the players, but acknowledging that this process was not sustainable is admirable.
Personally, I look forward to further exploration of new environments – the attention to detail of your artists is very prominent if you take the time to explore any HoT zone, including the guild halls and raids.
I am experiencing the same problem. I have 7 HC (Hero Challenge) in Central Tyria left to complete. I’ve tried the following:
- Using them immediately after purchase like I had before – Does not work
- Using them while standing in Straits (I have all HC completed in this zone) – Does not work
- Mapping in to a zone that needs a HC (in this case it was Dredgehaunt Cliffs) – Does not work.
In every case I receive a full refund when I try to use the Notarized Scroll of Heroics for Central Tyria.
I was able to use 3 of them this morning. When I tried to use the 4th one it gave me back 1 Proof of Heroic./
I am now at 188/189 Hero Challenges. Screen attached, the culprit Hero Challenge lives in Metrica Province. Sorry I can’t narrow it down more than that right now.

In-game, the idea of Shared Inventory storage is very desirable. However, as a consumer, the price + the very restricted amount of slots isn’t worth it for me and many of the people I play with.
To put it plainly, if I were to invest in the shared inventory slots I would be throwing away previous investments on the duplicate items I’ve purchased. You just don’t do that.
As an example, I have 3 Copper-Fed across 17 Characters. If I buy 1 Slot @ 700gems I am now out not only 700 gems but the 1600 gems for the two other Copper-Fed. Put another item there you say ? Adjust the cost accordingly to whichever item would be convenient to put there, Teleports, Gathering Tools. You could put the once-a-day purchase items there, but what a waste of space if you have a Bank Contract.
The fact is, there is a whole whack of working items and this change makes many of them redundant.
- 5 Slots is not enough to store Keys, which is what the community actually needs, with the new set of keys-per-map.
- 5 Slots is not enough to store all the convenience items available, such as the salvage kits, the passes/bank pass, the merchant, the unlimited tools.
- 5 Slots is not enough to hold gear to swap between characters. It’s not even a full set of Armor.
It’s a loss no matter how I look at it, the functionality just is not worth the cost for a player that has been around long enough to have these items. And truth be told, isn’t that who the game should be marketed to, as well as to new players?
I love this game. I love supporting the people who make this game and as a result, I’ve put a lot of money into it. But I just can’t buy this. It caters toward newer players, its price point is fair* IF you do not already own more than one of the convenience items that would be placed there. They will sell less convenience items in the long-run so the price-point does make sense long-term. But as a loyal player I have multiples of these convenience items and I’m being asked to willingly throw away my money. Can’t do it.
Suggestion? – Our multiples = an equivalent exchange through an NPC. Example: 1 Copper Fed = 1 Slot + 100gems to your account.
(Edited for a more friendly discussion rather than simple whining, including a suggestion.)

Hi, Please also take a look at this:
Summoning a NEW Phantasm over a Phantasm who has been shattered previously, no longer refreshes the Chronophantasma charge on the NEW Phantasm.
Noticed during Sabetha:
3 Avengers up, F5, I cycle in 3 New Avengers, F5 and they’re all dead.
Edit:
This might be on change between Sabetha/Sub-Bosses when they disappear.

If the drop was nerfed for people who’ve had it drop for them before, that makes sense. But an overall drop across the board so it’s inaccessible to players seems excessive.
Here to report that since the patch on Tuesday I’ve been crashing 3-4 times while playing in a 5 hour play period each day.
Prior to Nov 17 I had no crash issues – ever, I mean ever in the last 3 years. Whenever others reported crashing issues, it never happened to me.
- Running 32bit
- AMD Radeon HD 7870
- Settings on High/Postprocessing: None
- Windowed Fullscreen
Moving forward, I will install and use the 64-bit client today on-ward and hope that makes a difference.

Yes, they still drop.
If you really want one, farm trash mobs that drop loot. Underground Facility (Dredge) and Jade Maw ought to be prime choices.
Thx, have been doing that. Just needed to make sure because I’m probably going to go insane with it not dropping.
Hi, I’m one of those players who has the worst drop luck known to players. The kind of inconceivable bad luck that makes other players balk in disbelief. You see, I ran FOTM daily for more than a month or so, and never once got the spoon when the collections came out. I tried doing lvl 11s solo several times, but alas, no spoon for me. So I took a break, because it’s a spoon and it was destroying my soul.
I’ve heard the Fractal Spoon had a drop rate nerf, though I’m not sure when that was. Can anyone confirm they’ve received one dropped since HoT release? I’m back to doing FOTM more frequently but I haven’t heard one drop for my friends yet. (They’re always sure to rub it in my face as they know I haven’t got it.)
Map Completion/Specialization Collection Tracking
- Mesmer 100% Verdant Brink did not receive ANY map completion reward. (Mesmer has 100% Tyria completion.)
- Necromancer 100% Verdant Brink did receive map completion reward, but the Item Collection Achievement did not track the acquisition of the Necromancer’s Cache. [screenshot attached] (Necromancer does not have Tyria completion.)
- Edit: Opening the cache tracks it to the collection. **
Story Progression/Achievements
- Prisoner’s Of The Dragon: Unable to begin achievements, no NPCs to resurrect and the paper note on the ground you cannot interact with. My Friends, the Smiths & Peer Review (3 Attempts made, 2 solo, 1 with a friend.)
- Strange Observations: I completed both Avoid Traps and Predatory Prey but they did not track in the Story Journal. (2 Attempts made, with friends.)
- Hearts and Minds: If you die, the instance itself gets really weird. Reality Rifts don’t work or you can’t attack the sub-minions or the boss itself is invulnerable for a time. If you die and are playing with a friend you’re sent to “jail” leaving them alone to die or finish it solo (this seems intended but makes a buggy fight longer than necessary since you have to start over). On the 3rd reset we finally defeated him but the “Deal the Final Blow” was on the opposite side of the stage, nowhere near the downed boss or reality rift. I found it by accident and was able to complete the story.
Skill Related
- Necromancer’s Tainted Shackles (Skill 5 in Death Shroud) often selects 1 mob instead of 5 individual; in other words it puts all the shackles on to 1 rather than distributing, even when all mobs are within the radius. It seems to break off faster now as well. This is often, but not all the time.

Characters. I have many of them. 15 in use.
I logged in after reset (around 4:30PM PST) yesterday and received my reward “Bag of Mystic Coins” in the 4th row.
This morning, still in the same day cycle, (10:30AM PST) I was swapping through my alts and I was prompted for a second daily log-in reward. “Bag of Experience” in the third row, three days back.
I was able to accept both rewards. When I logged into my main character and checked my Hero Panel it shows that I’m on the correct login reward.
Note I have completed an in-game bug report as well, I just wanted to add more detail and a second screenshot than the in-game can provide.

Good post and I agree! The populations should be re-assessed, definitely.
As a player with two accounts, one on Dragonbrand and one on Sorrow’s Furnace I see a significant difference between these two.
Dragonbrand is currently full, we can pull our weight but it’s obvious some of our opponents have a higher WvW population than ours.
Sorrow’s Furnace shows as “Very High” and WvW is not fun. I can’t even remember the last time I enjoyed WvW on SF. I haven’t seen a zerg in months. Commanders that tag up will have max 3-5 running around with them until they’re rolled over by an enemy zerg; they become so discouraged to play that they just tag down or leave altogether.
Despite the existing player issue; it’s nearly pointless for me to refer a friend to buy & play GW2 with me on Dragonbrand. I’ve had NEW players waiting to get in to the server because they have a specific interest in WvW and would rather be able to join my server now than pay $20 USD later.
Um, was this really the best place to put this node? …
1. The NPCs are too close to the Shard & Node
2. The Shard & Node are too close to each other
Unrelated to original post but rather to sigil of energy reply. Energy works, there is an internal cooldown on the Sigil, however so you do not benefit from every swap.
This was my post 5 months ago for the watchknight tonic.
https://forum-en.gw2archive.eu/forum/support/bugs/Clones-on-Dodge-Infinite-Watchknight-Tonic/first#post2910218
Created a short video showing that the Priory Aethershield blocks Mesmer Clones, both Mirror Images and Clones on Dodge are shown in the video. I have not tested further with the Aethershield.
This may be a similar issue to the Infinite Watchknight Tonic that has the same problem. The tonic+clone issue has not been fixed. With the Watchknight Tonic only ‘clones’ are affected. Phantasms can still be summoned.
Tab targeting now prioritizes players over NPCs (including minions; mesmer clones are an exception) and champions over everything else.
I have bound Closest Enemy to “C” – It no longer functions when any Champion/Legendary is around.
Where this hurts me the most is in high level fractals on the shaman boss, it doesn’t matter how many Lava Elementals are between me and the Boss, C is targeting that freaking Boss because of priority targeting.
This bug is figuratively killing me in certain situations.
Nevermind, the game lagged out and when I restarted the client it patched and the issue resolved.
In Guild Wars 2 only when I press and hold either the Left or Right click, move the mouse, the cursor follows on the screen and the camera rotates. When the left or right click is released, the cursor snaps back to the originating point on the screen.
Ideas? Nobody else seems to have this happening to them and I don’t know where it came from. I use Razer Naga 2012 with Synapse 2.0 (fully updated). I primarily play in Windowed Fullscreen however I also use Full Screen and Windowed Mode – it happens in all.
It does not happen outside of the game.
Never had a problem, at all. I haven’t heard of anyone else having a problem, at all. I’ve not read, until you, that anyone has had this problem.
Have you tried the in-game LFG tool yet?
Hate to say it but I’ve read your three posts you just bumped and it just sounds like an issue on your side.
No clones on dodge when transformed. See video: http://youtu.be/HtBGrLmhbbs
Started SAB with a group thought it was weird that I was missing, so I went back and started it again. I’m still missing.
Kinda dangerous, picnic by yourself… might get kidnapped!
Tickets dropping in main pavilion area (not overflow) are in another language. US Server – Sorrow’s Furnace.
They stack with the originals and change the name of the stack to just “26”
See screen w/ linked item in Say
Recently transmuted my mesmer’s starter mask to the hood skin in WvW. They blended together.
Wish it stayed like this forever =’(
Ah, you just reminded me about SAB. Guildie hasn’t played for 2 months, logs in to see SAB, first glorious chest, Scepter Skin.
Just another example. He doesn’t play, just wanted to see SAB so I have no more drops to tell of from him.
I know, sigh. I don’t have access to those kinds of numbers though.
I don’t think you’re right though, I didn’t get a single exotic drop from a world event until many months after I started doing them, and then I got 3 exotics in the span of a week or so. There’s no DR, but your brain is going to find patterns in the RNG that don’t exist because our brains are hardwired to find patterns in EVERYTHING.
That’s fair, yes, our brains are hardwired to find patterns. I had two other guild-mates who had returned from a long hiatus were also getting fantastic drops. Which would reinforce the pattern.
@ArchonWing: There are some of us who do world events because they’re fun to do, any money made is just a bonus. Yeah it took me a month or so of world events to get 100g in the bank, but I had a lot more fun doing that than I would have had farming CoF howevermany times it would take to make that money.
And I further agree here. Dragons and world events are significantly more enjoyable than repeating CoF or other similar over and over for the monies.
Hm, perhaps I could have worded it better. I am moreso pointing out that a player with less play-time than myself has consistently received better drops. I mean, consistent. We play together, we do the same events, the same dungeons, we level our alts. But there is a consistent difference in our drops.
In short it appears that RNG may also be affected by playtime. Causing players with more playtime invested to receive poorer drops. Which in theory does make some sense. More play time with the same drop rate of someone with less play time would bring a lot more exotics into the market.
But to the player who plays way too much and receives little to no return on their time investment, it’s almost like a punishment for playing too much. Understand?
I’m curious about DR, I know this is still largely hidden from us but I’m starting to notice a trend outside of the ‘do events to clear your DR’ in regular PvE. I’m talking DR outside of the dungeon. Dragons are related in what I’ve noticed but only due to the drops.
Here’s what I’ve seen:
My /age 1100 hours total for the last 7 months. I play frequently, almost religiously every day. I don’t get anything better than a Rare from a Dragon chest, most of the time that’s the guaranteed one. A Rare in a normal event actually results in a dis-heartened ‘woo, finally’ from me.
Several other players have a little more than half my play time.
An example would be someone who hasn’t played in 3 months, /age was around 400 iirc over 6 months.
Zhaitan’s Reach x2, Final Rest, and sorry 2 others I can’t recall while I’m writing this.
What does this mean to me?
Stop playing. Go do something else for 3 months. You have a better chance at getting something worthwhile.
Really? That is it? That is the problem? UGH, that is the worst… Unattainable achievements are not fun.
A quick search shows several topics on the same subject.
I have the same issue and this has been bugged for a long time. The problem is that when the game was launched there was no PvP-icon (in the top right row on the screen) so you had to go through the Hero-pane to travel to the mist. They removed that, added the PvP-icon, but never changed the achievement, so the game still wants you to go to the mist via your Hero-pane before you are rewarded with that achievement.
This has been bugging me for a long time, achievement-hunter that I am, but I understand they have more important things to work on.
Created a warrior to get my final hint today. Once I got it I checked to see if it tracked, (because I had to restart my Ranger to get the pet hint previously.)
It is showing 82/83 Hints. As seen in the screenshot all hints are checked. I clicked through and confirmed all are checked in each section as well.
Swapped to another character and restarted game.
I’m finding that on my alts I’m getting better drops. My lvl 80 w/ some MF+ (not full gear mind or anything too fancy) and MF+ from guild, I’m still picking up A LOT of junk. Some White, mostly blue, occasionally green. I’ve become completely discouraged with the system.
I like this suggestion a lot. I would happily grind to a max MF level on every single character. I would also promote an “if you don’t play for X time you lose % of MF” kind of like an on-going background boost.
The Mystic Forge is, frankly, a brilliant idea and it serves a very useful economic purpose, but it is most definitely not a gold sink; it’s an item sink. It destroys items, not gold.
Yes, if you spend 200g on crafting / buying rare greatswords you’ve spent 200g, but that 200g goes to other players, not to vendors – it stays in economy, whereas a gold sink is when money leaves the economy entirely.
The 15% tax on transactions on the Trading Post, on the other hand, most definitely is a gold sink – that money leaves the economy altogether. That’s one of the most important purposes the TP serves; it’s probably the biggest gold sink in the game.
Perhaps this might be limited understanding but say, if you were to be buying/selling items on the TP with intent to use the profits to buy mats/items to use in the MF you are definitely contributing to both sinks.
Edit: And perhaps a flood of items on the TP should not necessarily only be blamed on bots but also on a users unwillingness to send their items into the void.
GW2 would be my first MMO that I’ve ever enjoyed playing, previously they’ve never kept my attention and I did not get any satisfaction or enjoyment from them. I have never played GW1 to be fair. SO- I guess I might have a unique attitude towards the MF:
I wouldn’t touch it with a ten foot pole. The fact that I can only get a precursor from it makes the very idea of them unappealing to me. I would much rather play the game a little stress free than mess with the forge. All pain and very limited gain.
I would much rather fight a boss 100 times and never get a legendary than sit there and struggle with the constant obtaining of mats/items and struggling with the forge.
Edit: I feel like the Why might not be clear enough here. Why would I rather fight a boss over and over than sit and do something uninteresting and tedious… well, actually that kind of explains it. Flashy boss battle and a sense of accomplishment VS combining materials, blood, sweat and tears.

Glyph of Elementals now has a 20% faster recharge rate bringing it down the 96 seconds.
When the skill is used, the 96 second countdown starts. It becomes misleading because when the elemental dies the timer is reset and starts at 96 seconds again.
The initial countdown should be 60 seconds to indicate the remaining duration of the used skill so it is less misleading.
I notice the message all the time but the skill itself is not actually locked, it is still useable.
I’ve been having problems searching the game bugs page but… I then logged in, searched this part of the forums no problem… I think you have to be logged into your account to search.
Was a guess. I’m not the best at differentiating between characters
Seems to be happening only to the Ore and to everyone on the map.
(edited by Distillia.9834)
I’m not entirely sure how this happened. I noticed someone link something in Korean in the map, and then later I noticed I’m mining ores in korean.
Sorry, don’t know more than this.
