Quick question about keep walls.

Why is it that the attacking forces have better LoS then the defenders? I mean the defenders cant get the line of sight on the attackers because they have to get right up on the edge of the wall. But the attackers can stand just next to the wall and can shoot/nuke the entire top of the wall? Come on. walls are ment to provide security/advantage over an attacker.

Here walls are deathtraps. It just don’t make sense.

lol wait till you run CM now after leet babys cried that it was to easy. In the changes they added they didnt mention the additions of Bombers. When they throw a bomb at you and if hit, you are knocked down and cant get up for like 3 seconds and guess what… the bomb goes off in 3 sec. Guess what else….. Yep the second you get blown up you are knocked down for another 3 seconds….. yes you are correct again…. another bomb tossed at you just as you get ready to stand again. Unless one of your team can stun/fear/knockdown this guy you are probably going to die. If you are in a Pug… Kiss your kitten goodby.

That mob incites rage and cost players thousands of dollars. OMG $1000 on what you might ask……. Keyboards…. yep I have already had to put a few keys back in mine. Never knew they would jump off the board like that!.

by the pic you can see that the trebs are like a mile from the keep walls but still are hitting it. yeah i know higher start point = farther distance. just wondering how far it could actually shoot.

Currently I’m not good enough at the game for explorable dungeons. It’s disappointing, because I’d really like to get better, but I die so quickly that I really have no idea what killed me or what I did wrong, and people really aren’t super-enthusiastic to take somebody along who just keeps dropping all the time. You need experience to get the job to get the experience, but then even if you get the job it’s really hard to translate the experience into actual learning.

Wait, hang on, just respecced from melee to ranged…

Ok. There we go. All set.

(I may be exaggerating, but I’m certainly not joking.)

That would be unfair to those who just cant get a group to do it. you have the attitude of HAH i got mine lets make it un-doable by anyone that isn’t leet! So that only the cool kids will ever have pretty gear.

I didnt say make thekittenthings a cake walk just adjust them to have a less lethal option so that in time average players could afford to by something for the bazillion hours of attempts.

I consider myself an average player, better then alot of others and nowhere near the best. And while I can learn stuff and how to avoid things some of the mechanics are odd. I watched a AC-EX video and the bosses didn’t do all the stuff that they did on the run I was on. So yes the video looked easy. Went to run it again and the last boss would pull everyone in and do his spinny move repeatedly every 6-10 seconds…. and for anyone who knows how long it takes your cooldowns to come up and how long it takes to regen from dodging it was stupidly difficult. But in that video he only did it once or twice. Each encounter is never the same. either the killshot mechanic is in overdrive or you get lucky and it doesnt trigger every 10 sec. Another example was in CM-EX butler path i think what was the first boss, the fight is not forgiving. If you manage to not avoid the shot you get knocked down and its like 3 seconds before you get up by the time you are able to use an ability BAM shot again. This time your downed, and if your team isnt Jonny on the spot with the rez, 3rd shot is probably gonna kill you.

Maybe instead of making changes to them someone put out a well written guide explaining encounters or how to avoid stuff can help people learn to progress.

So what your saying is that a player with average skill or a PUG should just avoid explorer modes…

CM explore last night for us was impossible. Our problems started when we his Waylan or whatever his name was. The warrior would charge in and use the 5sec invulnerability, and the Dolyak Signet, and 5 seconds later the room fills with explosions repeatedly. We tried pulling the boss out of the room and fight in the hall way but then we have even more limited space. once we got pasted that the next hall is filled with what seems to be 40 trips that go off and on to allow you to charge through it. The only problem is you cant use Dodge because of the traps that are still active. The rifleman that are at the end of the hall are shooting at you the entire time you in the hall way. One of them were shooting our mesmer for 6000. And those of you who have been in there know most people that go in there have anywhere around 7000-8000 hitpoints. Once you get to the end of that hall to the mobs you have either lost someone or you have burned just about everything to survive the howitzer cannons the rifleman have. Once past that the next room there were must have been something like 18 mobs that would run at us. 6 of which were Silver’s. And 3 of those would heal themselves. We would pull kite them back as far as they would follow trying to pick off what we could. After what seemed like 15 wipes only about 1/2 of them were dead. So we decided that this was not worth going broke from repair.
The rewards for the torture you go through is not worth it.

So I feel your pain.

I have been told that I’m just a bad player by the leet people that say OMG this is sooo easy L2Dodge. Instead of OH I remember that fight try this….. yadda yadda yadda.

Dungeon content for average skilled casuals? ...story mode isn't.

CM really isn’t that hard everyone. I have no opinions on Seraph path but Asura and Butler are pretty simple. You get your entire party far from the packs of mobs and pull as far as their leash will go. Then you pick off a few at a time as they run back.

It’s a really kitteny way to design a dungeon but it works and you’ll get out of it with zero deaths if you pull slowly and waaaaaaaaaaay the fruk back.

I’m not wanting to have to find a way to cheese my way through. I would like to do it as it was intended. And currently the intended way makes me want to smash my keyboard.

I blame the lack of a open beta. Not enough casual/semi-hardcore people to run content and give feedback lead to all the current bugs. I’m sure the current difficulty cant be what people thought was the right amount of difficulty. Don’t get me wrong, I love a challenge. But having to chain rez or release 20 times and run back fast so the boss HP can ’t reset is far from fun. This forces people to run certain specs, group makeups, and PUGs arekittennear impossible.

Maybe as I got older I have just forgot what fun was, or that I’m just a bad player and totally don’t get it. The frustration some of these encounters cause is amazing. As a guildy said tonight… “I think banging a hammer on my head would be more fun then this”.

So if you think this crap is easy can you do a favor for your fellow players that are having a hard time completing content….Please make a video of the instance from start to finish so we can learn how its done. Explain each mob and what they do and how to avoid/negate some of the damage that would normally kill you stupid fast. For example, the JoeSchmoeMob will raise his left foot and 1 second later he will smash your face into yourkitten if you dont move. I saw mobs tonight that are shooting people for 90% of their life from further then a ranger can shoot with a longbow.

Maybe me being an Asura warrior is making it hard for me to see some of the warnings (if there are any)… I mean I’m looking at kneecaps with my entire screen filled with enough lights to send some people into a seizure is why I cant avoid some things.

I look forward to learning from one of you who are willing to show us how its done.

we had a few good days where the servers that were matched made sense. now its like the pick a T1 and pair it with a T2 and T3 so the T1 just zergs the crap out of everything.

so things like this happen more often.
