So this old man is coming back to GW2 after a hiatus.

After 3 weeks I have not found the proper guild yet so, thinking this might be a good place to post, here goes.

The proper guild for me will:
1. Be PvE-only… any and all aspects
2. Have only retired (60+ years) members
3. Utilize TS/Mumble/Discord (whatever)
4. Promote a helpful, friendly, funny environment (without bathroom humor or gratuitous profanity)
5. Not require rep

Yea, that may be a whole lot to ask.

Has anyone heard of such a guild? Lemme know.

That is concept art, right?
I don’t know anything exactly like them in game. For1e instance, no axe I know of has chains swinging from it.

But these might suffice….
Sword – Legionnaire (similar, not the same)
Axe – Ophidian (close), Gallant (smaller back blade)

The Phoenix Sword and Axe would be a nice combo, except for the colors.

Check your Wardrobe via your Bank Vault interface.

I have the medium version. The default color is Midnight ice as seen in this screenshot.
On other characters I have dyed the set and erased it. The default stays Midnight Ice.
Is that not the same for the Light version? What about the Heavy?

Note: I had Ebony selected when I hovered over the hat. That’s why it is gray.

Engineer makes some sense. Maybe use some magitech armor, a big ole rifle (Spectral Wave Modulator?), wild hair and glasses!

Any fighting the will do will be Open World stuff; exploration so those golem runes would be fun.

I read about that Mining Pick, but I had previously bought one with that does not have that extra drop (nice animation though). Was looking for a similar Logging Axe, but no go. :/

A friend has all the nodes; maybe he will let me visit and farm those for sprockets and shards.

Finally, maybe someday I will try dungeons again.

To make Blade Shards for mystic forge you need :
50 Watchwork Sprockets
1 Blade Shard
1 Pile of Shimmering Dust
1 Pile of Glittering Dust

Now just need about 1500 Sprockets. LOL, never ends.

Another thing you will see as you are fighting mobs in open world,.. just as you get a mob near death someone will run by and get the last hit in that kills the mob.

That used to bother me (due to prior game experience), but I get the same xp in that case.

Sharing is so nice.

Now if ANET would “fix” the group kick problem/issue/whatever in dungeons and fractals.

After checking the wiki, I don’t see an infinite Logging Axe that drops sprockets like the Watchwork Mining Pick.

Is that right?

Is there any Logging Axe that drops additional items (except for Snowflakes)?

Just a note…
I took my lvl 3 (yes, 3) engineer to EotM yesterday.
A pug picked me up and we made good progress.
After 90 minutes I left at level 16.

If you want to play WvW for that content, then, imo, you should do it.
There are many activities there that can aid your server.

If you want to level quickly, EotM is what I would suggest, especially if you are playing the Overgrowth side (but that is a different issue/rant).

I have been playing an Asura thief for a little while.
Decided I’d like to make a Norn guardian.
Since he (or she) will be a frontline WvW chararacter, I thought it would make sense to use the tallest model possible so I don’t get lost in the crowd.

However, when I took him to the starting zone the guy felt so slooow. Movement-wise.
Does movement speed get better in time?
Does a shorter model feel faster than a tall one?
(Yes, I know that playing a bouncy little Asuran will not be the same as a large lumbering Norn. )

What do you think? Yes or No. Why?

Also are the movement animations any different between male and female.

Thanks, Mystic. I already have a PU Mesmer (sylvari ) which is fine, but slow to kill.

Anyway, I went with a tiny Asura Mesmer. She is lvl 39 now so getting re-geared. Maybe will post a screening later.

I am leaning toward an Asura (if female, a cute little one in pink and blue).
Thief makes sense, but I am not enthusiastic about the profession.

PU Mesmer is fun and has enough stealth options to qualify, but I want good damage as well.

Maybe that is what I need to research.
Which professions have enough useful stealth options.

didn’t they fix it so you have to have the bloodlust sigil on your person at all times, so you can’t use your underwater weapon to retain stacks.

the only reason to put bloodlust on a water weapon set is so you don’t loose stacks while swimming.

So I would need to have Bloodlust on my Greatsword as well?
If so, will have to re-think using Bloodlust at all.

I am confused. Please tell me what is wrong with this Sigil setup.

I have:
Long bow with Bloodlust (#1)
Long bow with Fire And Air (#2)
Speargun with Bloodlust (#3)

With #1 and #3 equipped I build my 25 stacks of Bloodlust.
My power on the Hero panel reflects the addition.

I switch #1 for #2 and lose the Bloodlust stacks and Power.

I switch back to #1, but still no Bloodlust stacks.

Why are the stacks not retained since my speargun has Bloodlust, too.
I thought that was the point of swapping out weapons with stacking sigils.
I hope you follow this. Like I said, I am confused.
