My 2 cents:
You gain resistance when your endurance is full.
Duration: 2 s
Pulses every 2 seconds
(When endurance is full)

This would really change your playstyle and would reward active play (only dodging when absolutely necessary).

Another idea would be to reduce the cooldown of all recharging glyphs by X amount (let’s say 3 secs) each time you swap attunements

In addition to all the usefull and true tips on exotic armor, I would like to tell you that getting your goal of getting Ascended armor will be very steep. It will take tremenedous amounts of gold and time, and the overall increase, if you have everything ascended is only about 5%, which isn’t that noticeable. I crafted one piece of light ascended armor, it took me one month, I wont try with the rest of my armor.

Remove it, or change the icon for it. The icon on the minimap completely overlaps the point it’s pointing at. While the system is active, one point is never visible on the minimap. This is extremely frustrating. It’s always covered, because there is a capture and a defend event on eahc point. I have to turn my camera around now to look at the colour of the point, instead of a quick glanse at the minimap.

This is a question to Arenanet. Will this be in the game again anytime soon? I really, really want it as headgear for my ele. It completes my characters look, and it’s the only thing that will. It has been in the game, there is a vendor for guild armour who only sells a chest piece…. can this be added? Anyone else have any info on this?

"Regions" achievements has enormous potential

It’s good to see more people think this is good! What I’m really looking forward to is getting achievements for Heart events with special mechanics, and unique challenges you could tae on. I want to see more like the challenges in Ebonhawke, like “Bring down all the propaganda posters in one day”, or reading the founding of ebonhawke. There could be achievements for the guild trek locations, etc, etc.

As a clarification; I want this because it should be easy to implement, in episodes, and lead to a lot of things to do for little effort.

Sure.. but following a meaningful story also takes a lot of time for developers to do, and i want more than 30 mins of gameplay out of each patch, so “cheap” achievements are the way to go. OP im ok with the fact you enjoy that kind of content, personally for me it shouts nothing more than filler content, its the exact kind of thing we’ve gotten from the beginning of the LW and its just re-package filler content, im talking about for example the find the missing coins achievement, its just filler content linked to achievement points, if there were no AP linked to it I wouldn’t bother, ppl will just refer to a guide anyway to get it out the way, what’s so significant about exploring every nook and cranny anyway, its not like it changes anything, theres only so long one can hold the opinion of thinking every nook and cranny holds an adventure before common sense tells you it doesnt, for me it isn’t obvious why exploring every nook and cranny is fun, what is fun is following a meaningful story which connects the player to the world, which I still think season 2 could deliver.

I would of course like it even more if there was a more immersive story to follow (maybe season 2 might even be that), but Regions achievements would be easy to implement, giving me something new to do, without the need to create new content. That would be a major improvement.

Dragonic Elemental.2674

It looks like the “Regions” achievement category has the potential to expand with every new LS update, if a new map (region) is added with every update. I love this style of achievements, as they encourage me to explore everything in a map, and complete achievements! However, what I think would be absolutely phenomenal, is if – eventually – all maps would be aded to this tab. It would make me return to this game for at least another year, on its own. Getting achievements for finding all the little nooks and crannies, defeating the important foes in each area…. Man, that would be awesome.

From the emptyness of the tab, it looks a little ANet was already planning something like that, but I would like to know more about their exact plans with this. What do you think?

[Video]1 Boon Strip Trait vs Strength Ele

in Profession Balance

Posted by: Dragonic Elemental.2674

Dragonic Elemental.2674

As an ele main: We stack lots of might indeed. I would assume that every time you gain any boon, or a stack for a boon you already have, that boon is moved to the top of the list, as that would be a logical way of coding. “Removing a boon” is most likely coded to remove the top boon, which, in case of a mightstacker, will pretty much always be might. (This is also where the idea of cover boons/conditions comes from)

Edit: You could test this by applying boons in random orders, than having one removed and looking at which one was removed; should be the one that was placed on you last.

Active challenges in GW2 and in Wildstar

in Guild Wars 2 Discussion

Dragonic Elemental.2674

Well, in PvE, Guild Wars 2 is certainly very easy (apart from maybe a few instances; the Prime Hologram foght comes to mind in the sense of active play). I would like it a lot if they added more mechanics to all champions, for instance (and got rid of defiant), but they can’t make everything hardcore, since it’s not the design philosophy of the game. However, if I want a challenge, I just hop into PvP, where the enemies are smarter than any AI in the foreseeable future. Problem solved?

Dragonic Elemental.2674

1. Doesn’t really matter. If you have all 8 crafting disciplines, than the 2 open slots can be used to level the characters you have them on (gaining a crafting level grants exp).

2. I’d recommend that you start crafting after you did other things. I only started crafting after about half a year, and by then I had so many materials that I could just go 0-400 in a couple of days.

3. I don’t know.

4. No, there isn’t in PvE. There may be a slight difference in certain areas (dps may be higher for a certain class) but it is balanced by other areas (higher survivability). DPS differences are overal not noticeable.
In PvP it’s a different story, and there is less variety in builds, because everyone wants the optimal one. But each class can be good, some are just harder to play (Warrior vs Elementalist)

5. As a fellow League player: extremely friendly. I did get called a noob once in PvP. Once. That’s it.

6. Completely depends on the guild.

7. via the bank!

Engineer literally blows stuff up with grenades and bombs, but I don’t think they jump around as much as Elementalist, which has (imo) absolutely the coolest effects in the game. You can easily have permanent swiftness (at later levels) and many skills make huge explosions (Churning Earth, Burning Speed, Phoenix, Fire Grab, Meteor Shower, Glyph of Storms, Arcane Wave to name a few devastating skills)

But never have I seen people that were being elitist about AP (I always kept up with the standard though, had 5K when it was demanded). You are just hanging out with the wrong people. in Guild Wars 2 Discussion

Posted by: Dragonic Elemental.2674

Dragonic Elemental.2674

@TheDaiBish: My god, that is awesome. Well tought out, and that could actually be introduced lore wise.

@OP
I was thinking of a system with one active “enchantment” which ends when the next comes up. Gives a passive buff and an effect when it ends. Many skills give you an enchantment, and consequently also end the previous enchantment.

This would allow you to switch between tactics very fast, but for the “bigger” end effect, you would have to anticipate your foes. Spread them out for sustained damage, or use all your enchantment skills at once for burst.

Dervishes could be heavy armor, medium health, because that is an obvious missing combination of stats. Their signature armor is sort of in the game (http://wiki.guildwars2.com/images/9/90/Diviner_armor_human_male_front.jpg http://wiki.guildwars2.com/images/3/32/Dry_Bones_armor_human_male_front.jpg http://wiki.guildwars2.com/images/c/c2/Winged_armor_human_male_front.jpg), but more could come in if they ever decide to make profession-specific armor.
Style is hard anyway, since there are so many armours and styles, and of course new people that never heard of the Dervish before.

It would be absolutely awesome to see more from Nightfall period. The dervish is one of the most awesome things in it, so I’m in!

I think the skill system depends mostly on what class you play. You may be a very fast learner, but I think you might be playing the wrong profession. As an elementalist, I have been discovering skill combo’s and am still discovering them over the past ~2 years. However, the warrior skills feel very generic and boring. There is very little depth to the warrior skills, and a lot of depth to ele skills. So this issue may be fixed easily for you?

Game Updates: Traits

in Guild Wars 2 Discussion

Posted by: Dragonic Elemental.2674

Dragonic Elemental.2674

Elementalist:
-Blinding Ashes: please make the ICD per target. The concept of the trait is perfect, but in practice it does not work at all this way.
-Lightning Rod: it’s weird, because ele doesn’t have enough interrupt to mke a build centered around them, and thus this trait is outclassed by the original two grandmaster traits. It would be god if there was a reliable interrupt without a 40 second cooldown…
-Elemental Contingency. Absolutely useless. Elemental Attunement gives more boons for more duration, and you don’t have to get hit for it. As with Blinding Ashes, the ICD cripples the trait. It makes it hard to guess when you will get a boon from any of your attunements, because each boon has a different duration, and you can’t time when the ICD is over. Even if the ICD was per attunement, the concept of the trait, utility trough boons, will still be uterly outclassed by evasive arcana. This trait is better off being redesigned, or put at the 5-point trait spot.

What is the problem?

in Elementalist

Posted by: Dragonic Elemental.2674

Dragonic Elemental.2674

So I main elementalist around 1500 hours of playing elementalist and 300 hours in playing other classes. The only reason I ever bothered playing other classes is/was because elementalist was really bad in pvp after especially the nerf bat that hit our signet of restoration and the mistform ether renewal combo.

As for the current situation. Happy to know that the signet of restoration was returned withing acceptable boundaries to where it is actually usable now in pvp. As for tankiness. If you spec for it ofcourse you’re gonna survive a 1v2 but beating them is only possible if they’re complete noobs or mess up big time. I play a S/F glass cannon fresh air build with runes of air and sigil of air so my burst is about 10k dmg with 5 lightning bolts which puts most of my atunements on CD plus ya need to press approximately 15 buttons in 4 seconds to have it be called a burst. Fire scepter 2 in fire and water and earth are pretty much useless in pvp except maybe that fire scepter 2 is a blast finisher.

D/D eles like yours are the ones I target down first.

As for my experience with other classes. I really like the engineer and necromancer because I rarely ever die with them. Engineer because I can stay at 1500 range and run away when I get targetted with an 1800 range jump. With my necromancer because minions heal and remove conditions automatically and I can just concentrate on auto-attacking aka bursting down anybody. Can take down medium armor folk in 4 seconds with auto attack… Wanna see you try that with elementalist…

Cool! I must admit, I’m not nearly as experienced as you, I have 900 hours as ele and about a hundred on other classes. I know these burst combos, but I simply like the feeling more of being rather tanky, as ele’s die sooo quickly otherwise. The AoE on ele does mean though that it feels like 1 v 2’s are entirely possible, as long as you evade the important attacks (and sure they could be noobs). I don’t know if you’ve tried tanky, but I love it. ;D Then you don’t need to put all your attunements on cd. It’s still cool that you still can to do high bursts, and yeah, I don’t play scepter because of the single target and quite low sustained damage.

What I mean is: not everything is fixed, and there are still lots of useless things in all classes, but for now, I’m hapy with how things are!
