Okay so, to my knowledge, the Celestial amulet was removed due to Ele’s being OP at the time.
Well, the meta has changed and from my knowledge, the only viable ele builds currently available are super tanky builds or fresh air(which is alright but undertoned imo)
So, can we see a return of the celestial amulet so to make more offensive Ele viable builds?
I don’t love the map, but I’d definitely keep it.
It’s balanced.
Is there any chance the devs can give us information on how to make our custom tracks play specific music in specific areas? or at least tell us if it is impossible to give us such feature?
Example: City track plays in all 5 major cities, ambient works for all areas of Tyria and expansion area.
While if you run it without custom playlists, the cities have their own specific track, along with maguuma having different ambient then the rest of tyria.
I don’t have much to say on the matter, I love that they implemented this feature, but I feel like playing it feels too clunky and lacks precision.
I know ANet loves to be unique but for once I wish they could do what Mabinogi did and use the MML system.
Example: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=jI4gqedjLfM
Perhaps keep the existing instruments as they are and release on the gemstore an MML version-ed instrument, MML’s are more precise and diverse, they’re fun to play with!
Perhaps even link this with a crafting discipline that increases every time you play to get better? anyhow, just an idea.
Well, I can’t say much on the matter, banning all Accounts on the same IP seems like much for me, I can’t rely on much other then what I’ve heard from them and the gm response.
All I can say is I hope justice was done if it was do, but to ensure the crime was actually made.
Sorry for bumping this post again, apparently, I finally figured the problem…
I had Japanese text as a composer for one of the songs in MainMenu, making it not function. I just so happened to have updated my playlist the day of HoT’s release and blind-fully blamed HoT.
Sorry for the confusion and the salt, everything has been fixed and works fine.
Well, i’ve tried that but it does not work, I HAVE found the problem however.
MainMenu is broken (or was tossed aside?) and makes your MainMenu not play.
Currently what’s going on is Ambient plays for it’s respected times, HOWEVER, it also plays for MainMenu, Heart of the Mists, Dungeons and the new Maguuma maps.
What bothers me is that if Custom playlists are not set, they still play their default SPECIFIC tracks that I assume all originate from Ambient…
Meaning ANet has customization options they know that they won’t share, I’m not impressed. Please give us the ability to change our HotM, Dungeons, MainMenu and Maguuma Playlists or at least tell us how you guys coded your system to how tracks gets picked.
Come on, it’s been a month and still no fix?
This seems easy to get done and is essential.
Dragon Stand achievement “Sum Viewer” is not being awarded properly to me, Photo to demonstrate… (Yes I’ve tried re-loging and such.)
If this isn’t what the quest asks me to do or this is the wrong spot, I’ll be kittened.
MainMenu music is not currently playing.
Please fix this whenever you guys get a chance.
On the side note for Custom playlists:
- HotM and Dungeons should have their own unique playlist
- Crafting should be fixed and also play while in Guild Halls
- Seperate Ambient from the Maguuma Wastes
Also, think they will have exclusive Guild Halls music?
Gw2 has custom playlist features, which I love.
Will custom playlists have more to offer for the HoT?
Will we have more variety of playlists to customization or will it remain the same and will we have access to tweaking playlists for HotM, dungeons, Verdant Brink or even Raids?
In my opinion…
SAB over HoT
I’m unsure of if this has been stated before, but here’s my concern.
When we enter sPvP, we have everything unlocked including Elite specs.
After HoT’s release will none owners of it be able to utilise Elite specs in sPvP?
- You can argue no, however if ANet wants to promote the game as an E-sport that is free to pickup, isn’t limiting spec availability going to turn off “Pro Players” and make this a crash course?
- On the other hand, this might make some people tilt at never purchasing HoT as they have everything they need in sPvP… However, I still think it would make it more healthy if none owners were allowed to use it in this game mode while getting a message when selecting the traitline that they will require the full game to use in the open world.

You buy the pre-order if you are absolutely sure you want HoT.
Pre-purchasing comes with add-ons such as beta access to is exclusive to pre-purchasers, if you’ve tryed the beta in any way with this, you don’t deservse a refund as you’ve used key pre-purchase exclusives.
On the other hand, if your one of those people saying Gw2 has no end-game or there is nothing to do, look no further then the lack of grind we currently have, i’m not supporting grind, but a little grind helps preserve the game.
Considering Verdant Brink HP gives 10 points, this shouldn’t take more then 3 days.
ANet is on the right path.
(Sorry if this sounded harsh, this is but my opinion)

Unlocking your elite spec is a training line in your training panel that costs hero points. You do need to have trained all the existing training lines before you’re allowed to put hero points into your elite spec.
If you’ve got all the hero points in the existing game you’ll have enough to train about half the elite specialization training line on launch day. The rest you’ll need to earn in the jungle or via the new system Tyler outlined yesterday from WvW. The number of points to fully train your elite spec is higher than other training lines – but hero challenges in the jungle are worth 10 points each, so it’s not actually as big as it appears.
I thought Anet was against making incredibly grindy stuff? This completely ruined my plans of having a Herald ready on day 1
Do people actually know the definition of grind?
A little grind is OK if you want to keep your game longer and interesting.
Compare grinding to games like Maple Story, now that’s grind.
If you need 200~400 points before mastering you’re elite, that’s 20~40 hero points from Verdant brink, easily accomplishable inside a day or over 3 days if you play sufficiently.

I’m aware many Rangers have long wanted a “No Pet” feature, where they simply play with they’re pets stowed, however Ranger is balanced with the pet in mind and removing it cripples the Rangers performance.
I’ve even heard many players like Rangers, but selected another class because of unwanted companion, or others that quit the class because of pets.
Here’s my solution:
- Create 3 pets that is stowed by default, such as a fairy, wisp or mist animal.
- The pet has no stats aside Vitality, the top 5 skills are invisible with this pet.
- The pet will appear similar to function gyro’s when downed 3 is used or other means.
- The three pets boosts one of your stats, either Toughness, Vitality or Healing Power
– The selected stats is lined with Anets philosophy of limiting Zerk Power creeping.
– Depending on the selected pet, it awards (About) 300 of one of the stats
– This will also enable Druids to play without pets and gain 300 Healing instead. - The pets can only be uptained in Verdant Brink, incentivizing HoT’s purchase.
- If needed, these pets can utilize F1 to F3 in terms of self abilities, here are examples:
– F1 Grant yourself Superspeed for 3s (30s CD)
– F2 Kick your foe, crippling them for 3s, 300 Knockback (45s CD)
– F3 Your pet covers your area in mist, evade for 3/4s. (60s CD)
These are mostly inaccurate numbers and mostly offer idea’s of a work around petless rangers. Positive or negative feedback is appreciated and do leave a like if you agree!
I personally prefer Blinds on shatter over the sword trait for sPvP
If it’s PvE and the content is easy go for extra damage.
Don’t know about WvW.
How much gear does ANET expect us to carry ?

Anet dosen’t want to kill zerker, they want to kill the meta, this means they are mostly aiming towards the game being not played exclusively with zerk.
You wouldn’t need 2 full sets, from what I understand, simply changing a few trinkets might suffice.
Chronomancer and a tad of Reaps

the number 170 was a datamined number, it seems to be true, although numbers can change.
My only concern for this class is the classes F2.
The visuals focus on the wings, but the animation does not fit it at all.
You shouldn’t flip in the air, I’d rather a higher jump and have more of a falcon’s decent.
With my unexperienced Engineer look at scrapper.
- Hammer 3 should have a larger hit radius per swing to negate swinging at nothing on the 2nd hit (animation looks great, keep it)
- Gyro’s is hard to track how long they are up and they seem to be up not long enough
*Finish/rez gyro should have a buff when you have it available(unsure if you already get it or not) - Stealth Gyro and other moving gyro’s movement pattern and ability to keep up irritates me.
Everything else looks great!
Woah, Tempest is looking MUCH better this time around!
Heres my feedback to what I think could see tweaks.
- Overloads is in a good place
- Shouts are pretty flavorful, I find Rebound much better, however I would still prefer a Maeltsrom styled elite.
- I feel Eye of the storm should give a 2s shock aura and increase it’s CD slightly
- Eathen proxy trait needs a slight nerf, i recommend merging with hardy conduit
- Tempestuous Aria should get 3 might instead of two, I would rather blast finish then pick the trait
Overall fantastic changes to Tempest, I feel it only needs a little extra flavor(not neccessarily damage or support) and it will be a great elite
Make sure to +1 for the devs to see!
I support this.
I noticed Heart of the Mist and Dungeons now play ambient.
If this is a bug, I would like to see dungeons fixed, but I would prefer to keep ambient for Heart of the mists.
Or let us change the playlists ourselves please! :>
And it seems to be fixed. Main menu now plays custom playlist again. Even better, now it randomizes the first song too
(Yup, it played a different song after a relog)
I like the ranomization, however I liked when it played the top song first, then it randomized similar to how ambient “used” to work.
So I could play this " https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=xxSkZ8ySo1o "
You could also place an empty track for it to always randomize so it’s a win win.
- MainMenu was fixed and now randomizes
- Dungeon Music now plays Ambient?
- Heart of the mists now plays Ambient
I assume these are bugs, but I would really, REALLY like to be able to tweak those in my playlists sepperetly
Also if they could let me tweak some SFX like Death Shroud and the Dodge refill sound
I’m beginning to think these are actually part of a bug as Dungeon musics are also playing ambient, which is not fitting…
Along with the rest of the odd playlist behaviors.
I absolutely do not want to see mounts in game.
AND BY GOD PLEASE NO FLYING MOUNTS (Gliders are fine)
When we get mounts, the world starts to look much smaller and theirs less insensitive to take your time and look around the beautiful world.
I wouldn’t mind if the mounts were well limited such as horse stables lending horses for specific areas of a select few maps.
Anyhow… I’d rather see more creative ways of travel, but I’l try to be happy with what I get.
Not gonna lie, I am disappointed by the scepter buffs. And they are buffs, I suppose, but they’re just not going to make much of a difference.
Go away, Necros. Hijack another thread to cry about your class. You’ve been getting significant buffs across the board in every major patch within the last few months, you are set to get one of the best (if not the best) elite specializations, and you still whine about your class on other class subforums?
Talk about a victim complex.
You guys got the victim complex, being one of the most demanded classes and still cry about everything. All I said was we didn’t get better changes either. Also there will be more changes, so hold your breath and wait. That’s what I will do.
My main is an Ele, but my second main is a Necro, and I gotta say, both profession forums are really whiny; really all the profession boards are, come to think of it. Everyone’s always convinced they’re in the worst spot.
^
Lion’s Arch also has stopped playing ambient musics one after the other.
I think having randomized tracks are ok, but I enjoyed have the top song play first… We could always nullifie it by putting a blank track anyways.
I see that heart of the mists has also changed to Ambient, shame that we can’t edit Heart of the mist individually. Oh well.
I have noticed MainMenu has been fixed, however it behaves differently now.
It appears that it no longer goes in order and is always randomized?
And if that is true, has any other custom playlist options changed or opened up?
If I could get a dev to answer that would be great! :>
First of all, just wanted to mention I LOVE this map, however their are parts of it I believe should be tweaked.
1. “Guards die too quickly”
If your enemy decides to kill your guards, their isn’t much you can do, defending em proves not much use aside from using some of their time healing before they die.
I would perhaps recommend we have the finisher mechanic for outdoor guards.
2. “Archers are useless”
I would much prefer if Archers would have long cast times and do warrior kill shot amounts of damage. It would also be nice if Archers were the best way to kill guards!
3. “No Treb Auto-Repair”
I’m not sure whats the best fix, but auto-repairing trebs should go.
I would argue maybe brining 2 ~ 4 supplies to it would repair it.
4. “Quality of Life, Lord HP”
As it sais above, for clutch times where both lords are fighting, I would appreciate knowing how much health both teams have so it feels less Random.
It would also have other uses such as when my lord is underattack, I can see if I NEED to go home, or can leave it to my teammates.
Many classes such as guardian, ele, mez and warrior have access to invulnerability’s or damage nullification.
Necro does not have access to much stability, breakstun, resistance, invulns, etc.
We have a strong defense tool but we are very susceptible to heavy burst or cc.
I don’t feel we should be prevented of healing when it is our profesion mechanic
However, I am aware it might be OP in sPvP and I like the idea of the heal being absorbed and passively heals you.
By seeing the cooldowns of our utility skills, we can then more strategically use Death Shroud, promoting skilled play/counter-play, and it will help balance the necro as a class.
110% Agree
Just the fact I could see when my heal is up so I can drop shroud and heal would make me so happy!
#Quality of Life
Yup, i really dont know why ot even has to exist.
Just yesterday my 2 supportbots blew 10k+ heals on me, but seems devs think that with 2k hp and under focus fire is wrong time to enter your only defense mechanic.
^This
In all seriousness, reduce heal receive effectiveness while In DS by 50% and it should be fine.
Question is: is self healing not considered damage absorbtion? Because if yes the biggest difference with death shroud is the focus on healing compared to the focus on “damage”, I would not consider it enough to justify the lack of utilities and ally healling.
1. You are spending the time healing yourself rather than applying pressure.
2. CC stops you from healing yourself if you get locked down while DS does it passively. It is a pretty big difference so DS definitely has the advantage there just for the passive nature of its damage mitigation.
^This
However I would like to see no interupts on switching to DS when stomping/rezzing.
Every other class has some a access to safe stomp, stability and such, I feel we should at least be able to keep our health from dropping mid stomp/rez.
Druid = remove water traits?
I need my condi cleanse.
Does anyone have a link to the balance changes?
They shouldn’t remove IceBow, they should give a HUUUGE buff to conjure weapon trait to make it viable for us to consider using them.
I’ve played the game since launch and eventually stopped playing, every time SAB releases or re-releases I immediately join the game and my interest for the game peaks. I prefer SAB then any content they release even without an update to SAB.
If you can make exceptions ANet, I’m willing to spend 60$ if you can give me a pass to SAB, just send me a private mail or something and you can have my money. T~T
More than a proper whip, I would like to see a “chain weapon”, that could be skinned as a whip, a kusarigama, a lasso, a vine or even as a tentacle, and which have attacks that mostly lash, entangle and pull.
That sounds like a fantastic idea, we could get from Simon Belmont whips to ball and chain, however I feel like those would need different animations as one is light and the other well… Just a thought!
spellbook ( 2 hand ) u can cast ur freaking spells with cool animation like drawing spells symbols thats fun
something like a dark magic
Exactly what I was thinking. :>
To be honest, outside of Quickness and Resistance, I don’t see what’s wrong with sharing the other boons.
It has to be noted that taking Tempest and Warhorn requires two major sacrafices:
-Taking Tempest
-Taking WarhornSeriously. The Tempest line is a huge damage and survivability loss to take relative to almost any other trait line. Taking Warhorn means you lose out on the massive DPS of Staff in PvE or the incredibly good kits of OH Dagger or Focus in PvP. Seriously. Outside of Heat Sync, there is very little reason to take Warhorn over OH Dagger and Focus.
The thing is that Ele Offhands or Staff are already super strong. Just look at the OH Dagger kit. It has so many strong skills. Same with Focus, and same with Staff. Warhorn, without Heat Sync, makes 0 sense to be run with any build over these other 3 options. Even a condi option like some people have suggested like “Convert condis to burning” or “convert condis to might” or whatever would be so utterly situational that you would never seriously consider running Warhorn over any other weapon set.
The range of boons needs to be large. Might, Swiftness, Regeneration, Protection, and Fury at least. Warhorn has to compete against superstar skills such as:
-Obsidian Flesh
-Magnetic Wave
-Swirling Winds
-Ride the Lightning
-Updraft
-Ring of Fire
-Cleaning Wave
-Healing Rain
-Static Cage
-Frozen GroundWarhorn has like… Warhorn Air 5.
Seriously. Even the “good” skills on Warhorn would be the MOVING Water Field and Sand Squall, which while strong, has been bugfixed to now only give 4 sec of Protection and only extend other boons 2 sec instead of 4. Right now, it’s basically Sand Squall versus the kits of the other weapons, and the fight does not look good for it.
Heat Sync, simply put, makes Warhorn a competitive weapon choice with OH Dagger, Focus, or Staff. Without it, or with the very much weaker suggestions put out, Warhorn will never be taken over the incredible Staff in PvE and WvW, or the OH Dagger in sPvP, or even the occasional Focus, which still has an incredible kit. An OH weapon set has to be at least as strong as Focus in order to ever be seriously considered. With a complete nerf to Heat Sync, I can safely say that no one will seriously use Warhorn at any high level of play in PvP, PvE, or WvW. Heck, even with Heat Sync as strong as it was, it still makes more sense to run OH Dagger in PvP and Staff in WvW and PvE. Warhorn is barely hanging on as a Tier 2 weapon choice and it’s being pushed to garbage tier, and that’s just really what amazes me.
Please don’t nerf Heat Sync, or at the very least, allow the skill to share Ele boons like Might, Swiftness, Regeneration, Protection, and Fury.
100% Agree^
I’m ok if they change Heat Sync, but Staff and other OH weapons have SOOO much more flavor Warhorn, Warhorn had HeatSync and SandSquall, if that nerf goes through, I would laugh at any ele with a Warhorn equipped.
- Either keep it how it is, limit boons to not grant quickness/resistance.
- Or give us a totally different AMAZING ability.
Spellbook to me seems a bit too much like a focus… Is it supposed to be a, er, “two hand” “weapon”?
A 2handed weapon yes! You would not be physically holding the SpellBook in both hands, rather hold the book in the left hand, and cast/flip pages with the right hand. (Similar to how you cast spells with staff with your free hand)
_________________________________________________________________
There are already book-themed focus skins…
Skins are one thing, but the SpellBook could be more visually more stunning with pages magically flipping when casting, if that’s not convinsing enough for you, consider the Spellbook to be a GreatFocus similar to sword and GreatSword.
_________________________________________________________________
And book-themed guardian elite skill
Their’s also a Sword themed Guardian Elite… I don’t feel like this has any credibility. (Considering Guardians would not have access to the SpellBook weapon to begin with)
