OP, learn to read, you make some huge hot air here for nothing that is any kind of big deal.

Would you have read the article properly, then you would have quickly realized, that people who use this item are instantly under very strong limitations and bound to 1 map – the silver wastes and this so long, until the player either tries in any kind of way to leave the map, or permanently uses up the item for one of his new created characters…

its seriously unbelieveable, how some people can complain even about such ovbiously great features like this and find anyhow somethign “bad” in these things, just because they can’t read and comprehend completely what they have read first – most likely due to being not patient enough to read the full article TO THE FREAKING END, but no instead they go already preemtively into rage mode the very moment they read something they dislike, or think they may dislike, without understanding the full context of what they have just read, due to their own impatience of not reading the article completely first to its end to be able to understand its full context

In this case it’s that or him/her just being a blatant troll since the same OP’s really keen on driving a massive hyperbole about the 2g daily reward crashing the game’s economy in another thread.. I mean that’s the feeling I got from the OP.

Either way I find this boost a very welcome gift in case I want to make a new toon but don’t feel like doing all the leveling from scratch anymore, not to mention the bonus items you get are nice. A wonderful move from Anet <3

In a new patch we are getting reward of 2 golds for a daily achievements, it is too much in my opinion, with 2golds per day, just from achievements, its like 730g / year. With that big income of thousand players it could harm gw2 economy really hard.

What do you feel about that ?

You are absolutely right it actually is 730g/year or even 7300g/decade and now that i come to think of it it’s 73000g/century this is a LOT of gold there this clearly needs to be nerfed

Well if you want to go with that line, think about if 10.000 active players make every day 2000+ gold through TP while another 100.000 players make 200+ gold… I think there’s so much of this gold inflation as you said in the game that people getting another 2g just from the dailies really isn’t going to make that massive change into the numbers.
PS. Also like some people already said in this thread earlier on, Anet will make sure most of the excess gold will be sucked out with all the gold sinks that come with all the festivals etc. so don’t you worry your pretty lil’ head with all this gold inflation talk.

And you dont forgot to overthink your pretty lil head about that player to player trade throught trading post doesnt have an effect on an inflation and doesnt change anything about making golds and gold inflation.

Well seeing as someone before you corrected me on this already and you didn’t even deny the fact that players will make much more gold from other sources of the game easily is showing just how much you’re wanting to thrive this ‘discussion’ forward just with your own hyperbole as its base only. 2 gold from completing the daily meta will not cause massive gold inflation into the game, the end.

Well if you want to go with that line, think about if 10.000 active players make every day 2000+ gold through TP while another 100.000 players make 200+ gold… I think there’s so much of this gold inflation as you said in the game that people getting another 2g just from the dailies really isn’t going to make that massive change into the numbers.

Minor note: The gold players make on the TP comes from other players. It’s not an inflation source because it’s not being generated by the TP.

Ah true, thanks for correcting me on that. Though the point still remains that more than 100.000 players generate over 2g easily from elsewhere in the game without difficulty so gaining 2g from the dailies is not really as serious as the OP is making it to be.

So… wouldn’t this also mean that getting the 2g every day from Teq is also ruining the economy as well? The logic is simply astounding in this. Oh and not to mention the -les gasp- 5 gold you get from doing 8 unique dungeon paths, that’s simply going to break the system!

No. I actually enjoy the leveling process and opening up new map. So I neither want an instant level 80 nor do I want the maps unlocked.

An optional system where someone can get map unlocks but get no map completion bonuses, including the Gift of Exploration, is fine with me.

+1 on this, it should be a given that if you want to get an instant map completion then you must in turn have some kind of payback for that convenience.

My thrill in PvE doesn’t usually come from loot. It comes from getting stuff done. Like when we have a few seconds left to finish a 30 location guild trek and we’re down to 5 seconds and beat it. That’s what thrills me.

This. I haven’t ever really seeked for the thrill in PvE through loot, stuff like this where you manage to complete an event or a guild mission is where the thrill comes from though naturally even that eventually might become mundane if it’s constantly the same struggle to finish up an event in time. I can see how the game will become extremely boring and frustrating if you’re searching for awesome loot drops only.

Ary just wants others to play the game the same way that they do. Anything else is clearly wrong and obviously an exploit or glitch because you shouldn’t be able to do that…whatever ~it~ is.

Why do they continue to argue their point even when several others clearly disagree with their conclusion? Validation? I don’t know.

Didn’t you answer your own question? They want people to play their way of the game, which I guess is either meleeing Golem and spending most of the time looking at the floor to see the hints of which panels will be lethal next, OR standing on the stairs which btw is an exploit with the reasons given in here since classes with 1200+ range can still stay in safety throughout the match without getting struck by most of the attacks except the occasional knockback.

Seriously, it’s always so adorable seeing people get their panties in a twist from whatever is an EotM (Exploit of the Month, kinda like in Swamp Fractals!). Just report it and move along, Anet will fix it… eventually.

Honestly told for guild events it makes more sense to just take one of the toons you have 100% world completion on already… and I sincerely hope they won’t implement this idea, since getting the WPs alone makes it far too easy and faster to complete the maps and I doubt Anet wants that due to the amount of mats that would rush onto the market when people would complete maps twice as faster than usual.

Let’s start out with all the good stuff that affected me the most or came into play in my time inside GW2:

- Gliding in Tyria is wonderful and I’ve been enjoying my time in ‘old’ core Tyria maps with new way now due to this change!

-Being able to change the scale inside fractal instance is great and makes doing daily fractals so much easier and faster without the constant re-exitting and entering

-Shatterer’s revamp was a welcome change, he now requires even some moving about and actually thinking of what’s happening instead of the old right foot-afk-hitting

Then the bad stuff:

-Some bad bugs slipped in like LFG bugging up on if someone leaves your party in fractals, so you have to break up the party and restart completely outside in Lion’s Arch if you want to actually post up a LFG message

-Profession balances felt a bit lackluster on some parts especially considered how much talk was about a lot of QoL changes coming in and those did come in, but not really to the ones that was spoken the most about (Ele Scepter, c’mon now… really?)

-The Lunar New Year doesn’t bring in anything to fully attract everyone into doing it like wintersday did, Dragon Ball is too unbalanced and at times buggy+unfair for it to be fun and enjoyable for everyone.

Fun fact that there’s another lazy cheese spot as well that’s also a bit easier to access and stay on compared to that one… oh Anet, you so silly with your fixing attempts. I had a huge laugh when doing the 67-77 dailies today and got to witness that spot and the other one, wonder where people will head off to next once the trees are cut down. xD

Honestly told I would imagine them revealing new legendaries every 3-4 months or so, just when looking at how long it took them to get the precursor journeys fixed for the 3 current Gen2 legendaries (IF they are fully fixed, I do not know since I haven’t bothered to even do them due to reading all the previous bug issues both ingame and on the forums)… but we shall see, this month might be the crucial point where they either reveal at least something, or actually put them out when Wintersday ends.. or stay silent as usual and keep people waiting around.

I’m afraid not, it has some small effects like on every 4th step or so there is a note effect on the ground and apparently those are enough… you’ll just have to wait for the Gen2 legendary focus and pray it’s better. I was a bit disappointed myself as well by the fact they gave some buffs on the other legendaries that already had good visual effects like Kudzu, but oh well.

I could imagine them replying something like that they will fix the aura issue in the bigger patch that comes around 15th December, but this definitely did look like Anet’s way of saying that WvW players must drag all of their toons separately to WvW to grind out those heroics if they don’t want to do PvE.

Hate to be the pessimist here, but I personally don’t really foresee a surge of players unfamiliar with PvP or WvW going into those modes. Reason being? The mats needed for the new legendaries from both modes will be tradeable.

I’m sure there will some, but doubt it will be overly noticeable.

I agree with this, the players that have avoided PvP and/or WvW will keep avoiding them since they know they can just grind up some gold and buy the shards off from TP.
Also when it comes to PvP some people might just do the trick of filling out their reward track through daily rooms which means completing a track in 4 days and that’s 2 shards per track, of course right now we have no idea how many we’ll need but due to the fact that the new legendaries won’t be quick to obtain anyway, why would the nonPvPers be in a rush to do actual PvP matches if they can take the easier route to obtaining the shards?
And WvW… well, if a person is already on a server that’s very low in tier and not active, they won’t be any more eager into doing WvW stuff, thus they will still rather just grind out gold though SW or in case HoT brings up a better gold-earning place.

I wish they weren’t tradeable. The current legendaries already have the feel of needing to do most parts of the game to get them. I like this change.

In a way I do too since PvP is not that scary of a monster people think it to be.. well, it might be if you head into actual PvP rooms but there are daily rooms where you can progress your reward track by 25% per day, so you could get those 2 shards of glory in 4 days… or 3, depending where on the track are the shards located.
WvW on the other hand I can understand why it would not seem that enticing to people in case they’re not on a WvW-active server, not fun to go and do stuff there if your server is being beat down by the other two 24/7.

You are too reward driven. Where’s the fun, the enjoyment? Nope, it’s all about the lucre.

In a MMO that’s like saying “You’re too into killing monsters.” or “You’re too into exploring.”

It’s one of the core elements. Explore…kill things…get rewards…with work together thrown in there.

I have to agree, getting rewards IS part of the fun for me, as an example if I wouldn’t have a chance of getting an ascended armor/weapon chest or fractal weapon skin at the end of a daily fractal tier, I wouldn’t even go and do the darned things, same applies to dungeons with that 1-2 gold being the reward of going through the dungeon path. Some people play for the pure fun of it all and some play with rewards in mind, you can’t say one way is right and the other is wrong.

You can still make the old legendaries in the old way, only the new legendaries will have completely new requirements so you have nothing to worry about, just keep going at it and hey, once the HoT comes in you can have a chance of making The Legend without needing to farm up 1k gold or more!

No Problem, tbh I was a bit worried at first of the PvP and WvW aspect, also the fact that we don’t know exactly how much will we need of the Shards of Glory as an example and how much will players put value onto them (like will they be new Foxfire Clusters or Giant Eyes), either way it’s still good they’re not account bound and gives a chance for PvPers to make more money out of their reward tracks.

Eh, I’m being a bit too nitpicky but the new legendaries were one of the reasons I’m getting HoT, so it struck to me as Anet taking the easy way out on one of the legendaries by using some old skin that was gathering dust godknowswhere.

I wouldn’t think of it like that. They’ve wanted to revamp the legendary acquisition system for a long time, they said long ago they intended to bring us new legendaries. So they must have had some people start working on those before realizing they weren’t ready to debut new legendaries given what else they wanted to do with the system.

Thus it’s not a random skin they pulled out of storage, it’s a dedicated piece of art that is finally seeing the light of day for its intended purpose

That’s probably why it isn’t a melee style staff, in fact, it was likely designed before they were thinking about Revenants and Daredevils.

I’ll still take Bifrost before Nevermore thanks to my own personal aesthetic preferences (unless the Nevermore effects look reaaaal pretty in action, we’ll see on Friday), but art being old doesn’t reduce the merits of the art. … then again, I am partial to Beethoven symphonies and don’t object that the orchestra is dusting off some ancient thing instead of playing something written last month, so my thinking may be skewed.

Hmm, well when you put it like that I can understand why they now used the skin that was datamined to ‘exist’ at least somewhere in their datafiles, now it’ll become more of a unique skin in a sense when people really have to do some work for it.
And in fact no, your thinking isn’t skewed rather it is how people’s minds work, mine too except in this case I just didn’t see it that way since I only now saw the datamined video of Nevermore and jumped into own hasty conclusions.

At first I was I was really excited about seeing the first new legendaries, I still am excited about the axe and pistol to a certain extent. The staff, however, lost its points in my eyes when I found out it was something that had been datamined from the game years ago… I was expecting all of the legendaries to be brand new and made from scratch, not something that was made years ago and now decided to be slapped into the game together with the expansion with some minor tweaks to it or as it was.

time gated would be a great idea, chuck! or they could make a key equate to like 1/5th of a legendary. 50 of each t6 mat, 50ish ectos, etc. that is something that I would definitely consider grinding to craft, even if they only allowed me to craft one a week, which isn’t crazy like it was before but a little something extra for players to make!

Now that sounds like a WONDERFUL idea, crafting a BLK with so many expensive mats that selling those aforementioned mats would yield more gold to turn into gems and in turn you could buy keys straight away with that gold instead of this pointless crafting process. As an example that 50 ectos bought with current buyer price be 20 gold and at the moment you could get 125 gems with 24 golds, that alone would already be the price of one key, and if we did with your suggestion of 50 each T6 mats as well it’s just… no. Nope, hell no.

You really aren’t thinking any of this through properly, just stop please.

Yep, so people with lots of alts that still need a precursor are still left out in the cold. Not sure why they restricted it to one per account when the end result is account bound…

Possibly so that people couldn’t get the Twice-told Legend achievement more easily or something? That is a good question really, since they’re account bound would it really matter if a player could make 10 Twilights if he/she so desired.. or maybe it’s to make sure people will still need to rely on the old way to get another and keep the precursor prices the way they are now, that’s the other reason I would think for the restriction of one per account.

Silverwaste was supposed to be a map to do the events and fight multiple bosses, NOT a chest farming map. If GW2 wants to keep chest farming in, make it for a limited time, so that those of us that like doing the events can. It is unfair that those of us who like doing the events have to wait until the chest farming group deems it the right time to do so. I also refuse to jump from map to map to map just to find some people to do events with. Keep the chest farming in, just limit it.

Unfortunately I don’t see why they should do that since it’s easier for people to just jump maps through LFG system, and I can imagine people throwing one hell of a tantrum if the chest train farming was touched/nerfed in any way, especially right now after the keyfarm nerf.
