I got 3 carapace coat boxes in my first 2 hours in SW… Got luminescent coat the hour after, carapace coat looks better, waste of 2.5 hours.
I’m a full zerk warrior on pure gs, can’t remember the last time i got downed and i do 14 dungeons a day, honestly just learn how to dodge, look for tells from enemies, dodge, and as before 3 on gs is a valuable extra dodge too… tbh most of your enemies should melt in sub 5-10 seconds if everyone in group is running meta (full zerk).

Best options are Gossamer and Iron right now, as a rule of thumb the average price discounting outliers like thick leather and mithril which have spiked crazy, is around 1600 per box, if you’re paying more than that you’re getting ripped off.
right now with gossamer and iron you can get them for under 900.
What’s interesting is if you compare the average cost of these boxes last year to the various costs for them currently, they’re still currently cheaper than last year with current prices (depending on the material). However, it seems their potential “value”, in regards to drops from them, has yet to be determined.
I would imagine items like the recipes would be less in demand overall, but with the inclusion of items from the past season as rare drops… will make for some interesting days ahead if you’re involved in the TP.
I don’t personally know how many players partake in zephyr supply boxes and to what extent they care about how much they spend on them, but if we do the good old economic thing of modelling players as being rational then all prices of materials which don’t serve much purpose (apart from now being converted to zephyr boxes) on the tp should reflect the ratios ArenaNet have given the trader vendors, now what I will find incredibly interesting is if we actually come to this ratio (or relatively closer to it) during this event and maybe some kind of currency medium of exchange will be kept permanently in the game by arenanet to continue to achieve this ratio… some prices will be super high because of the other uses of some of the materials.

I’m wondering if there’s a way to calculate total gossamer amount in buy orders between 894 to 493 to see how much of an off-loading it would have taken to cause this, possibly, depends how much the prime time players have also stockpiled.
So what do people think about the Ascended Armor crafting and Gossamer’s current tank of about 40-50% from yesterday’s pre-patch value? Did you see it coming? How much Gossamer do you think was stockpiled in the economy?
thank you! i’ll try this now
let’s make this constructive: what’s the highest price people think Genesis/Entropy/Shadow will reach?
Hi,
Like many people here I’ve been playing the game since launch but ever since the recent culling patch me and a few guildies have noticed the extra stress has this placed on our connections to the game.
Many a time I now find myself being disconnected in Lion’s Arch and most annoyingly the Clockwork Chaos events. As much as I appreciate the whole “see your friends” thing, I personally think this is silly, sure I want to see my friends, but then make it so only the people in my party (clearly my friends) aren’t culled, not seeing a field of people (who aren’t my friends i.e. in the zerg) in ugly basic armor who look identical. If everyone looks the same, then who looks like anything?
I’m running on best performance to mitigate the amount of damage this patch does to my connection but I really think it would be a good idea to at least include an option to have the old culling in gfx options for those of us who don’t care about what the 736 people around us look like in basic white armor.
Hope this gets some kind of response,
Ed
Axe/Mace is my favorite combo, despite the long cooldown on 5 it can be used very well and to great effect as well as the vuln from 4 and 1 from axe for constant steady mobile dps (not stuck in place like 2 on gs), depending on the scenario my other set will either be gs (for when i know i’ll be able to stay still a bit for 2), sword/warhorn (if i need mobility), rifle (stating the obvious but this is for when ranged makes life easier ie cliffside fractal)
thank you very much for all the help, i’ll have a look through again to see if i find anything that matches the information you’ve given me
Hi, just wondering if anyone had the links for the builds I hear people always talk about like the Axe/Mace build for mid-high level FotM (20-36) and Berserker GS build for CoF, I’m gradually tapering off of my PVT armor but want to make sure I’m investing in the right equipment and using the right skills/traits when going into these builds.
If you could provide links to these I’d really appreciate it!
Thank you
It’s funny how this tool for flipping is actually good enough to render flipping near on impossible/impractical in the future… Which is how you know the tool is good.
700g is wow, but isn’t there a limiting factor to your cash flow because you require 200 deadly blooms per nightmare coil = under 8g, how fast can you farm 200 deadly blooms after doing daily runs of each path?
can anyone remind me what the gold sink in gw1 was? because that economy fluctuated from time to time but they were never ridiculous fluctuations and imo worked much better than the tp we have in gw2.
I play the game on a £280 Toshiba C660D Laptop with integrated gfx card, on best performance settings, everything is fine apart from LARGE like Dragon events where fps goes down to about 10ish but WvW is completely fine unless you’re in a humongous zerg v zerg battle in the hundreds. treat yourself to best appearance whenever you get a new piece of armour/weapon or want to appreciate some pretty scenes and then switch back to best performance before you blow up

I think the difference is that these also work with slivers and shards not just cores to lodestones as elonian wine does… Sidenote: they are still pointless and provide no change in the way I’m getting my lodestones (farm, get money, buy cores, make lodestones with wine)
my guess is 2 slivers + binding agent = shard, 2 shards + binding agent = core, 2 cores + binding agent = lodestone, 2 lodestones + binding agent = 2 lodestones + 1 core or 3 lodestones. i don’t think this will have a massive effect on markets, potentially a short term 40% decrease in prices but back up to 80-90% of original within 3 days.
thank you Heylo and Dreamslayer, you’ve given me the answers I needed, going to start daily doing all AC paths for exotic axes to dump in Mystic Forge in a bitter attempt to get Tooth of Frostfang whilst doing CoF P1 and HotW P1-3 for rares to salvage for ectos for clovers XD
people are saying to buy the rare pieces of armor… I just checked vendors and these are level 35 for AC… I thought ectos only dropped from equipment that was Level 70+ or when you mentioned the 30 token were you talking about the higher level dungeons and excluding the lower 6?
So I’ve been reading through the topics in BLTC and seeing a lot of people complaining about people controlling and altering the market for their own benefit… I think ANet wants this to be a game for the players, not the economists (I know half the people on this forum claim to study economics but what do you know I actually am half way through my BSc in Economics) and I propose implementing a trade limit per 24 hours.
What does this mean? Either a quantity or value based method, so if we treat each item as an independent market and limit it to maybe 5g worth of trading per server day for t1-4 materials whether it’s buying or selling (pre tax and charges) which means that no one trader can make a massive change to any market as cheaper markets have tonnes of supply and demand so even if 5g would buy thousands of that product the net effect would be negligible. Now you might say this isn’t fair but is it? Why would the regular player require 1000000 soft wood logs unless it was for market manipulation? This might inconvenience the few players that spend their gametime logging in, going on BLTC, and making money for their legendary that way, but I guarantee the amount of people inconvenienced by a method by this will be greatly less than those who will benefit from a more stable market.
This is just a concept, I also think maybe a physical quantity trade limit including both buying and selling every server day might also work so limiting t1-5 mats to 500, t6 250, lodestones to 25, cores to 50 etc this would give the market of normal players an opportunity to easily buy up any cheap mats being dumped on market to push down price/adjust sell options and vice versa. Basically the idea behind these is to limit the power the rich have on the market so that the majority of the players can enjoy using the BLTC with more stable prices and not worry about when to buy their mats for what they’re making in fear that they’ll be 30-40% cheaper the next day. (True story happened with me and my Corrupted Lodestones that I’ve been buying for Gift of Ice)
Another concept is something that comes from real life economics (progressive tax) and also the current game mechanics in gw2, everything we do is made so that there’s a disincentive to repetitively do it i.e. do all paths of a dungeon then token reward drops for the day, farm a certain area over and over again and you’ll hit DR after 30-60 minutes, do your daily fractals and after that fractal rewards decrease… everything apart from trading. So again on the whole either value or quantity scheme of things but maybe instead of just limiting altogether increasing the gold sink during that server day once they’ve hit that “limit” and adding +5% listing fee and +5% sale charge and doing this again when they hit the next tier of trade “limits” until a server day reset… which I’d also be tempted to say should only remove only 1 scale of +% listing and sale charges so if in 1 day you hit 3 tiers of trade limit it will take 3 server day resets for this to go back down completely… This will help the gold sink and combat inflation whilst stabilising markets and limiting the power of the rich and making any market shifts to be from the power of the majority not the minority essentially making many “poor” people totalling to a net worth of 1000g more influential to the economy than 1 person with 1000g which is currently how the BLTC works.
In my personal opinion I think the final idea could work really well, and would shut people up about market manipulators because any real market manipulation would have to be a collective effort from essentially the entire market if the right limits are set.
Whether you’re an economist or not let me know what you think, if you’re a Dev even better… I won’t charge for the idea… but if you want to increase the drop chance of Tooth of Frostfang from Jormag’s chest until I get 1 I won’t say no haha

anyone know if they’ve changed the Corrupted Skeggox to not share the same skin as the precursor Tooth of Frostfang?
I’m going for Frostfang so always keeping an eye on Corrupted Lodestone and Core market… All I have to say is that there are about 15 listings trying to push the market down to 1g20 from 1g65 and now normal people have panicked and shoved their lodestones to match lowest offer so now the lowest 3 sells are on about 10 each… Obviously a cheaper Frostfang is good for me but as a player I think a trade limit should be set to avoid market manipulation like this
Hi people, so the (Profession) Gear available from the Laurel merchant for 2 laurels states that it contains 2 exotic/rare items from that profession… does that include precursors as exotics?
lodestones are so vastly supplied and demanded I don’t think they’re subject to manipulation as much as some people claim. Also you have to bear in mind what recipes each lodestone makes and the demand for the items that each lodestone makes i.e. if a charged lodestone makes an item much nicer than a glacial lodestone it makes sense for it to be more expensive. legendaries aren’t meant to be easy… and I don’t have one either because I expect it to take a long time to get… but if Claw of Jormag chest would like to drop me a Tooth of Frostfang any time soon I’d really really appreciate it
just a quick question to theamato, how do you manage to “AA and can be traited the same way in the Arms line for the Vulnerability traits”? I’m an idiot, I know, but I’m an idiot asking for help XD
Deathspike the build in general is good, especially the use of soldiers on top of shout warrior.
Godmode is an awesome name, reflects the holy aspect of guardian and massive aspect of being a Norn.
Big E Nada Smalls, background story is that he was conceived whilst his Iberian Celtic mountain region Norn parents listened to a Biggie Smalls album, named after his father Edgar but not a fan of being called Edgar II he adopted the name Big E Nada Smalls, because he’s a big kitten Norn Warrior with nothing small about him.
