By chance, have you tried adding that name to your friends list in GW2? I would think you’d still be in luck if there isn’t an account tied to it (Or it gives you an error perhaps, since it may be still linked to your account?)

Members in my guild had tried before, but I hadn’t done so myself. I’ve just tried this and I’m being told that there is no player using the name in question.

Hmmm. The only temporary solution I could see if you still can’t register it is having a guildmate reserve the name, but that could cause a slew of new problems if it won’t release after 24 hours of deletion.

It always puts your Screens to your “My Documents” Folder. You need to change this path in Windows 7.

Yeah, it appears we can’t change the folder GW2 saves its screenshots to. Here is the guide I used to change my paths on my SSD.

Can someone pls explain to me the requirement of using reserved names from gw1? None of the names I used in gw1 were available in gw2 even though I linked my accounts. I have not played gw1 for years and dont have all the expansions, is that the reason?

Run Amok, if you look Here they detail that you had to log in sometime during 2012 to reserve the names :/

Katsuma, you may want to delete your serial code from that post (you don’t want to post that publicly) but keep your Support ticket codes up.

For Windows 7:
If you have access to the administrator account:
-Right-click on the gw2.exe in your Guild Wars 2 folder, and go to properties.
-Click on the Compatibility Tab
(Looks like the order is a little different if you want to apply to all accounts)
-Press “Change settings for all users”
-Check the box at the bottom of this new window labeled “Run as Administrator”
-Apply changes and exit the properties window.
This option should now be selected for all accounts.

EDIT: Just tested this between a regular user and admin account, and it appears to work. If you want to do this entirely from the user account:

-Right-click on the gw2.exe in your Guild Wars 2 folder, and go to properties.
-Click on the Compatibility Tab
-Check the box at the bottom labeled “Run as Administrator”
-It should ask for the administrator password, enter it.
-Apply changes and exit the properties window.

These apply to your first character created only, as they’re one-time use items. The mistfire wolf elite and the Hero’s Band are on all characters created. See Here.

If the sender’s character is still in your zone, you can report them using the in-game report interface (What velena says to do). Otherwise, no way to report it according to this post here.

If you go into My Account → Security, you can see a list of IP/logins, and can disconnect other logins. However, I don’t think we can look at previous logins.

Same thing happened to me with my CE serial code. Can’t access my account with all my characters, just an account with nothing.

EDIT: My issue is the same as Kalua’s below, that my GW1 and 2 credentials did not match and the registration dialogue was unclear.
