If you keep on having trouble after configuring AVG you may want to try the port 80 switch. I would try it without the switch and see if configuring AVG fixes the problem first.

Running the client on port 80 may help alleviate the issue also.

1) Navigate to theGW2 directory normaly located at “C:\Program Files (x86)\Guild Wars 2\” or “C:\Program Files\Guild Wars 2\”
2) R-Click “Gw2.EXE” then select Send To>Desktop (create shortcut)
3) One your Desktop R-Click the “Gw2 – shortcut” and Rename it to “Gw2 – Port 80”
4) R-Click the “Gw2 – Port 80” shortcut and select Properties
5) In the tagert line, all the way to the right after the quotation mark add a space then type the following: -clientport 80
Example: “C:\Program Files (x86)\Guild Wars 2\Gw2.exe” -clientport 80
Example 2: “C:\Program Files\Guild Wars 2\” -clientport 80
6) Click Apply then OK
7) Try running the game

This worked for me,

Just reinstalled after upgrading my laptop with an ssd Now im getting this error no matter what I try atm. Running Win Ultimate now was running Home before. Dunno if thats an issue. Anyone found a fix pls post, and I will be very gratefull.

Thx for your feed back guys, I dropped elixir B as you said, and are experimenting with the bomb kit instead. Im gna continue to try the net turret skill later as you also suggested, sounds like a smart choice also

This thread really made me laugh. I can understand it feels offensive, but I Really dont think its a repporting matter. Thx for making me giggle and making post of the day.

5 minutes… wth didnt you respawn, just sitting there spewing brimfire at ur screen I can just imagine. I mean no disrespect but its just a funny image.

Explosions:
Shrapnel- Exp have 15 % ch of bleeding
Short fuse- Reduce recharge for Gr and B 20%
Grenadier- 1 extra grenade and 25% further shot

Inventions:
Protective shield- 3 sec prot on crit 20 sec cool

Alchemy:
Fast acting Elixirs: Elixir skills recharge 20% faster
Self reg, defense: Drink elixir S at 25% H
HGH- All Elixirs give 20 secs of might

This build is working really well, its not a 1v1 build but more a pty cc build so with that in mind how can I improve it.

I usually use crit food and crit Nourishment.

On weapon I use superior sigil of blood- 30% ch LS on crit.

Also why not just have a short title above invaders, Like “De” Desolation or just an Icon for that server. In large battles all that writing is insanely annoying and completely useless.

Otherwise an good addon to wvw.

This post is created by fear and not by experience. We dont know how it will pan out untill the actual fix. Also there is a L2p period after fix so it will take a while before any usefull posts on the topic emerges. Im not gna troll here, but Will point out that thieves have been trolling alot in thief/stealth/culling nerf posts to stop this. This is just another example. Some thieves/mesmers has been honest about this issue and I can only applaud and respect that. Ill say it again wait for patch and l2p and then come back and post your honest experience.

Wait for patch, you dont know how it will work out yet. Also if ppl make a lot of threads about an issue its probably because there is a problem or something needs to be done. Arenanet are doing their job to A++ by responding to forum and they are pretty much doing a great job overall. Nothing to get upset about yet.

Also it would be nice if they had a guild tag (like banners) next to the name.

Nice idea, this would be a small reward for the guild or person using lost of money on arty. This might also encurage ppl or guilds to use more money on arty and thereby evening buildsites out between more ppl and guilds.

On the downside it could make it look like ur not as welcome to use the arty if ur not in that guild.

Another way to go around this could also be to add a reward by placing arty. The reward could be based on kills placed arty does or it could be based on amount of damage dealt. This would encurage ppl to make sure arty is placed in the best spot possible, and there might even be ppl rushing to get arty up at best spots.

Just like the health bar on artillery, catapults, trebs, ac, bal ect. It could be nice to see if artillery needs a reset on time left. Atm 5 ppl will reset the same arty within 5 minutes or not at all.
Also If you place a treb on a spot ppl dont pass very often it could be nice if ppl actually passing could see that a reset was needed. Most ppl wont bother jumping up to a vista to reset a treb if you dont know it needs one.
Some ppl dont know that arty needs reset and this would fix this issue.
It would be easy to implement since there is already a none visible timer

Implementation:
-It could be implemented as a bar like the HP or showing time left as numbers.
-When the time left is below 10 min bar could turn red allerting bypassing ppl.

Constructive feedback welcome or state if you agree/disagree with something.

I Disagree with you OP, portals are nice in jp wvw and anywhere in the game, im not a mesmer and it does not annoy me in any way.

Swear a lot. Use all caps. Never take the blame. Waste siege. Always lead groups into situations they can’t win, like SM.

No, but seriously. Follow a good commander around and learn their tricks. How do you know they’re good? They win most encounters, and have respect for other players on their team while doing it.

The part about good commanders winning most is bs.

If you are outnumberd you cant win, and a good commander will stay and untill ship has sunk and not just leave a fully upgraded keep to its doom so noone sees them loose. I havent seen 1 commander do this however, most commanders are cowards unfortunally.

A good commander dont spam the chat 1000 times repeating things over and over filling chat so noone elsees messages are possibe to read, as if they are the only ones who has any valuable input and everyone else is braindead.

A good commander does not take all the credit for winning battles.

A good commander is determined and most of the time makes good choices.

A good commander does not buy a commander tag without spending a lot of hours weeks in WvW learning the game to an expert lvl.

People follow crappy commanders most of the time because they are shouting the most and a lot of people mistake that for being a Xpert commander, why else would he scream.

Also people confuse a victory with a good commander, if you are leading a huge zerg you have to be a terrible commander not to get victories.

Thats why most commanders chicken off if pressure is to high, afraid so show thier true color.

So I guess the last remark on a good commander has to be,,

A selfish and scared commander knows when to hide from battles. But a really good commander is prepared to take on hard odds.

Disagree, if you are in a battle and overrun before you can pick up your loot its only fair that you loose the “right” to claim it. Its up to you to escape the battle with the loot. The way it is now is perfect no need to change.

This is a Constructive thread, meant to help the game designers to get stealth back on track in WvW.

Anyone who plays the game WvW knows that stealth is overpowerd. Ppl playing stealth classes will try and shoot this thread down. So let me refer to the post “Stealth in WvW needs a nerf” where the OP is a stealth user and feels its very overpowered. Some will try to claim he is lying but at the end of the day. ANYONE playing WvW knows that there are way too many advantages when using stealth as Mesmer, Thief.

1.You can take out a group of 4 ppl, no other classes can do anything similar.
2. If you are close to loosing a fight you can cloak and run to safty and start all over again. No other classes can do anything similar or even close.

So pls give some constructive feedback on how stealth can be fixed in WvW.

This is NOT a yes it is NO it isnet thread. So when ppl start try to shoot the thread down pls try to be the wiser and stay on topic. I hope to get a lot of great ideas with this post, so we can help the gamedesigners with some great input.

An idea could be one of the following
- To prolong the cooldown on stealth.
- reduce time in stealthmode
- Let more skills interrupt stealth.
- reduce backstab damage
- not being able to cloak while using “finish him”

Thieves needs a nerf

A skilled thief can pretty much take out a four man group, while perma cloaking. If you imobilize a thief they can cloak run away. They knock you out, cloak and press Finish him. Counter? You cant decloak a thief, you cant stop them from cloaking + healing. If they feel the heat they cloak and run. Its just too easy, to play a thief. I dont know how they are en PvE but in WvW they are totally op. They jump into a 7 ppl gruop knock you out and if they are “lcky” they kill you and run away and over and over. Thers no other clsass that can challenge a mob of other players singlehanded and win. Ive been happy about game and balance so far but this is a Must do for the game. Sure its fun for the thief to play with low risk. Ive never seen a game where one class was so op seriously. I mean perma cloaking again and again, cmon put a timer and possebility of a counter to cloak on that please. Also if im using a flamethrower and the thief cloaks, and my fire is hitting where he stands he wont get hit. So its not just a cloaking skill its an invulnerability skill you can use again and again really fast. I can use such a skill about every 30 secs and it lasts 3 secs and I am visible meanwhile. This is so much a no brainer. I know a lot of thieves will probably come and try and stab this down. But the only reason for that is that they know this is true and they dont want anyone to stop their fun obviously. I hope this message reaches a gamedesigner, if not well, I could imagine a % of the playerbase leaving if they feel its a joke when they pvp other players.
