To op, if you are indeed using a laptop gpu then I would revise the title of your topic if you can to “Nvidia Mobile gpu drivers dont work with GW2 on Windows 10”.
Nvidia drivers work fine on desktops which is what most people will be gaming on and therefore will reply about “theirs working fine” which is absolutely true but not relevant to your problem. Please, please also report this to Anet. The more people that report it, the more likely they will have to do something.
To Sassy…there are far more problems than that issue with Nvidia laptop drivers, which to be honest is to be expected and advanced users would have picked up on that and gone into Nvidia control panel and selected for the gpu to be used on the new .exe file. The other problem is non fixable by the user and has as much to do with Anet and Microsoft as them. See posts above.
I would, but there’s a 45 word limit in titles.
Regardless, it’s been a fluffing month of playing on and off with the buggy checkers wars 2 32bit client . And no word from neither Nvidia nor Anet…
Why can’t we have good things? ;-;

Last week I’ve run some updates on my PC, now the 64bit client won’t work. It logs on, but when I press Play…nothing happens. When I open my Task Manager, I can see the game process but I still can’t open it.
I tried to play the game on the 32bit client again, but it has a really weird texture problem where textures randomly go chess-like blue and green, and the water is always that way. Not to mention that every time it changes maps, it freezes once the loading has finished and I have to press Ctrl+Alt+Delete to break the freeze since Alt+Tab doesn’t work when it’s frozen.
I’m getting HOPE (or at least i’m planning on doing so…) because I have 3 condi sets (2 for WvW and 1 sinister for PvE) and all the pistols I have don’t fit engi too well.
HOPE HYPE!
Ever since the removal of the hobosacks, and the arrival of the toilet paper roll and the bag of onions back in June 23rd, we’ve been promised that these placeholder models would be scrapped and we’d get the real deal.
So is this coming with HoT? or When it’s ready™?
Th builder’s numbers were inaccurate last time I checked. The in-game numbers are a bit higher, so yeah the damage is ridiculous…
(It may have been fixed in the last two weeks, so don’t quote me on this)
Perplexity and Grenades Isn’t optimal but works wonderfully for me. no problems taking on multiple enemies at once. It’s my go-to condi solo roaming build.
Pyro mode on is one of two builds I run in a roaming trio I have going on, very down-shutting and offers good support. (can switch out crate for mortar’s elixir shell but I prefer the crate’s area denial and 2nd heal)
Giving your build would help understand your problem :T
some builds don’t need to choose between them because they both complement them well. Something like a condition or a power HGH build wouldn’t need to choose because both Inventions and Alchemy compliment each other and give you monster survivability, they’re like the Arcane and Water of Elementalists but more offensive and more less mandatory.
Your build seems really tough to fight against. This last BWE I saw some people using the might stack variation, with FT/EG.
For the Cond. burst pressure that you said, I solved the problem using Alchemy. The real big problem with this build was Reaper’s Chills and Fears, because they are chanelled now. The rest, pretty easy to get downed.
Build for reference: http://gw2skills.net/editor/?vdAQFASnUUBlch1UBudBEqilKji+tr77WcZCgwb8DigGA-TxRBwARuAAXV+tT9H86AIu/AgHAgZlgECw8WA-e
Yes that build works just fine!
I also came up with another variation, where I use Lyssa runes for my burst condi cleanse on Sneak Gyro but I’d lose a lot of power for, but I don’t know how well it would work yet, but I really wish Anet would put us out of our misery and give us a Marauder stat set already
I’ve loved scrapper the second I grabbed my hammer and saw those ridiculous numbers, and I’ve spent my BWE3 in PvP and WvW testing my scrapper, and I haven’t done much else.
And I’ve gotten sick of people with HGH Scrapper with flamethrower and Grenadiers, so I came up with this: Static Discharge-Scrapper Edition!
Playstyle: don’t be afraid to go right in the middle of a bunch of people and ruin their day with your stuns and dazes, your stability and sustain healing is pretty good and will get you through most fights, but your skill level is what’ll get you through sticky situations.
And don’t waste blocks because these are your win/lose skills, and don’t hold your Stealth Gyro back when you’re in trouble or trying to res an ally.
Burst: your main damage is Electro Whirl+Surprise Shot in 1v1 situations, that should be your opener, but in 1vX situations, use Thunderclap and Rocket Charge followed by Acid Bomb for massive AoE damage, otherwise you should save your Thunderclap for when your enemy gets sloppy.
Roaming: you have perma swiftness so the only thing you need to care about here is your Rocket Charge, to make the most out of it:
1.Use Rocket Charge 2.Switch to tool kit 3.Drop your tool kit using (`) while in the middle of the last leap.
Engage: your normal engage is pretty much the same as the normal SD build, Magnet>Electro Whirl+Surprise Shot in 1v1.
If you’re coming in to help an outumbered/downed ally start with Thunderclap, target the ally and use Function Gyro to double res them.
Disengage: disengage isn’t that difficult on this build, use Acid Bomb to leap back then deselect your target and Rocket charge out of there (if running from rangers, use Electro Whirl to reflect projectiles and block if you have any of them off cooldown).
Chase: because you don’t have your rifle, chasing can be hard. But Rocket Charge, Surprise Shot, Magnet and Elixir Gun #1 and #2 should help with most targets. Unless it’s a warrior then just give up (Against Thieves and Mesmers use Detection Pulse to reveal them when they use SR or Mass Invis, but again, it’s unlikely you’ll catch a thief)
Camp Soloing: Switch Stealth Gyro out for Mortar Kit. Aggro the camp guards and keeper into a corner using LoS, then drop Mortar#4 to blind them and give em hell with your hammer and EG AoEs (use Tool Kit #2 to get rid of the blind cause by the guards)
Variants
1. Group Roaming/Havoc: Engi can be very good in havocs now thanks to on demand stealth, but you should switch your scrapper master trait from Rapid Regeneration to Expert Examination for extra vauln.
2.Ranger Danger/Denied Noscopes: switch EG out for Bulwark Gyro giving you a 50% damage reduction and more importantly, giving you kitten reflect bubble around you. Perfect for fighting Pew Pew Rangers and one shotting rifle warriors(Also useful for stomping warriors, revenants, and engis)
3.Improvise: Engineer is all about thinking outside the box, try other utilities, different skill wombo combos, and different traits. And if your ideas are good I’ll add them to this post for everyone to see.
Counters: Condi build are generally annoying for this build, Confusion and Torment based builds specifically. If you run into any non-cheesy condi builds ,(which is unlikely) pressure them first before they completely fluff you over.
The only solution I can see for this is giving Rapid Regeneration a condi clense on an interval when one has swiftness(3-5s) or superspeed(1-2s) but that is very unlikely T^T
Cheers! sorry for walls of text
See you all in HoT, with the Completed Build (Unless they nerf it to hell)

NA’s Geekiest Engineer.
Hammer skills are amazing and provide great utility/damage, except for the lackluster auto that’s really dragging this down(give it a bit of a faster cast time and I’ll be a happy engineer) and the rocket charge’s obnoxious flying, needs to stick to targets better
Traits are very good and that give the scrapper good sustain and much needed stability, my only problem with them is that they don’t really support condi specs but oh well, I’m still very happy with them.
Gyros we don’t really need to talk about how horrible gyros are with their hit/miss path-finding , sluggish speed and their 30% responsiveness.
IMO they should be entirely reworked and implemented with the fuel resource you’ve mentioned a long time ago. the engi community said it 5 seconds after seeing them back in the HoT announcement trailer “For the love of god NO AI”
EDIT: the Abjured’s Chaith/Five Gauge went into more detail with possible solutions for the gyros in his forum post .
Ever since the new specializations, engis have gone towards Flamethrower for insane burning damage. But now that bomb radius has been fixed, would you give bombs a shot? Especially since flamethrower doesn’t offer the condi variety that bombs have.
(This is a PvP question btw)

(it IS very glassy though so don’t let anyone near you with your block on cooldown)Have fun learning it
-LukkiI’ve been running this in both WvW and sPvP since the patch, and I have to say it is awesome. The only thing I do differently is I dropped the GS and now use Scepter/Pistol Scepter/Torch. I find it offers a lot more flexibility and negates some of the glassiness as iDuelist will continue to damage your opponent while you recover in stealth, and you can still shatter it at will, so it’s easier to maintain pressure.
Yes but I wanted to use a non-meta build in which I can use a Greatsword because I had just crafted Vision of the Mists by then
Edit: You said you’ve used it in WvW, how did it do? cause I’ve wanted to use it in WvW but i can’t guarantee it’ll work.
Would Rampager armor, Sinister trinkets work?
You can use a GS, but then you have to decide which one to give up, torch or pistol. I’m not willing to let go of either. I suppose in a power build it makes more sense though.
As for what I run… Rampager works if you’re comfortable with the lack of toughness and vitality. I personally don’t run in zergs but always solo roam, often getting into 1v2/3s, so I prefer dire armor with rampager or rabid trinkets.
Nah, i don’t mind glassiness.
It means I can rub my victory in people’s faces when I get 1v2’d or 1v3’d.
and in a PU build there is no way I’m leaving torch behind

You think Dredevil is bad? what about Forge? kittenING FORGE!!
Rifled Barrels was the only thing that made it through to the game.
Accelerant Packed Turrets was only ‘baseline’ if you took the Explosives line, because it’s a minor trait there, it’s rather annoying how they don’t justify their changes
Pistol’s ‘Explosive’ Shot isn’t an explosion, and Jump Shot isn’t either, even though they said they would be labeled as explosives with the new specializations system.
Don’t feeling like writing a huge intro, so here you go:

This is a power build that focuses around might stacking using your Elixir skills( which now include the toolbelt skill, #4 and #5 on Elixir Gun, BOUT TIME!)
Capable of maintaining 20+ might permanently while in combat, and MASS Condi-Cleansing for your party.

Variants
Roaming
When you’re running around keep using your [Toss Elixir H], [Healing Mist],[Acid Bomb] and [Super Elixir] to keep your might up while out of combat.
Engaging
Use [Toss Elixir S] for quick access to stealth and try to land as many grenades as you can from [Grenade Barrage], then [Blunderbuss] and [Overcharge Shot] (your Tools Adept should proc, which will instantly break your self-CC, giving you even further advantage).

Since when did Fire’s Embrace become a “useless” trait to be removed?
They stated that the specialization system would force us to “change” our builds….
but WTF this just removed a build entirely…
GG, Anet,GG, Much build diversity, such wow
OMG y u do dis ANet?
You’ve heard people’s QQ over the water and arcane changes and you put them back, why change this though?
That Fire aura on signet looked very promising.
So much for build diversity >:C
Their “to-do” list shouldn’t take over a year to cycle through. I understand prioritzation but this was straining credibility 6 months ago, now it’s just embarrassing.
It can’t be a hard fix, there are plenty of already existing spell effects that grant “invisiblity” instead of stealth. Seriously just fix it already.
Engineer hobosacks are in a similar situation – since launch, there’s been threads about them, and the response has always been ‘We just don’t have the resources at the moment.’ My theory is that they just keep shoving things into the pipeline, which keeps pushing seemingly small fixes back; if I’m right, then we can expect Last Refuge to be fixed at the same time as Hobosacks: roughly a year after the game has, for all intents and purposes, died.
Well engi’s Lé sack dé hobo is no more, so there you go.
Yeah teefs are kittened, when I saw the changes I flipped out and thought I might as well learn S/D to have some experience with it, but they’ve even nerfed Feline Grace
This new system has brought great buffs to my alts (Shatter Mesmer, Condi Survival Ranger, Signet Cele Elementalist) but it had me looking at my two favourite characters with eyes filled with sadness (My main engineer and my beloved teef)
I haven’t see the Ele part in the stream but did they say anything about making Blinding ashes have an Internal cooldown per target? or is it the same but with a shorter cooldown ?
Picking up a grandmaster just to inflict blinding on 1 target is kinda ridiculous, Blind is more used to mitigate damage from large groups of enemies (For example taking camps you could just stack the guards and drop a flame wall and avoid most of their damage)
and they mentioned that they have a new engine, so isn’t this possible now?
Kinetic Converter-Critical hits will reduce the cd of gadgets by x sec prob a low amount just the more you crit the more youll be able to access your utilities in a fight
Oh my glob this^^
But shouldn’t they just reduce the CD of a utility in general? Or even Toolbelt skills?and Would it include healing skills? It would have to exclude kits (Obviously!!).
The system could use RNG to determine which of your utilities gets effected by this .
Personally I’d rather have a trait that reduced 1s with no cooldown over a 10s reduction with 10-12s cooldown.
Very awesome Idea
SD Engineer is the best fun I’ve had in this game, And I usually run a 24026 so these changes intrigued me :
(Of course keep in my mind that if you haven’t watched the stream you’ll be as blind as a bat, and probably won’t make any sense of what I’m saying)
1. 2 in Explosives: used to go here for Knock-back on turret detonation( this is baseline now THANK GOD) so no explosives anymore
2. 4 in Firearms: used to go here for Improved range (now baseline too)and damage.
So now it’ll probably be More Crit% when <600 range in adept, and rifle trait in master, but I’ve yet to find anything useful in the grandmaster spot
3. 2 in Alchemy: used to go here for Invigorating speed, now I’m completely lost in this trait line and would love some guidance
4. 6 in Tools: now here is the problem, I used to go
(Static discharge)-(Speedy kits)-(Power wrench)
But now I can’t do that, since Power wrench and Static discharge are both adepts! (and i don’t know what to pick for grandmaster either so I hope their “TBD” is worth it!)
Does anyone have any opinions they might have on this situation?
And can someone tell me where the kittens is my Bunker down?
Should I love how this thread is still going after 2 years since release, or should I hate Arenanet’s lack of respect to their playerbase?
They listen to casuals whining and QQing about thieves mesmers and engineers being “OP” but they don’t listen to their didecated Engi playerbase’s constant requests about something cosmitic no less.
No Hobosacks or RIOT!!
It logged me out in the middle of a really good ranked arena T.T

Timeframe: 2 weeks ago Friday the 6th to be exact
Server: Used to be on Northern Shiverpeaks now on Fort Aspenwood and the problem is still there.
Game settings: does it matter? i’m talking about network latency.
PC specs: How does this influnce anything?
Also, I took the speedtest thingy and it says my ping should be around 30-40ms.
The server lag is making this game unplayable, 0.5s-1s delay in PvP and WvW is a middle finger to any action combat system.
It’s been like this since last week, and I can’t believe it hasn’t been fixed yet,and quite a few people are having the same problem.
And before you start saying “it must be your internet” or"your modem is probably a potato" I’ve checked everything else and it all worked fine.
Please Anet fix this.
More core polish,Less world polish.
I play on NA btw.
I’ve been experiencing it all the time, it’s very annoying and needs to be solved right away.
You can’t have action combat with slow servers.
