I am curious to know if anyone running GW2 with Yosemite. I’m having quite poor performances on my Mac and I was wondering if this was the reason (I reseted the SMC already). Tuning down options does not make any difference. It won’t go above 30fps but it will surely go below 10.

Lets talk. Message me in game, would like to discuss with leaders that used to play DAoC to form an alliance, move to a server that has minimal to no queues, and take it over, rise in the ranks.

Disadvantage to this is all of our guilds would have to start over on influence, but how long does that take in WvW? Not long at all. We have a strong force that is hard to get into battle together, and I am sure many of you do too.

We tried to do that with my Alliance… Pure DAOC players. Small alliance of 300+ and we chose the least populated server (that was pre release). We are the Grand Cross Alliance and we play on Vizunah Square…

No, they have MORE queue during primetime… Look at the scale on the left of the graph. It goes up to 600 fors VS, and only 450 for FS… Learn to understand a graph please.

So what? Having more queue does not mean you have more people playing in WvW… It only means that more people are waiting to enter WvW.

There is 2 options :

1) FS and Deso/Riverside grow nightshift armies and stay in the 1st bracket.
2) FS and Deso/Riverside don’t grow nightshift armies and will be replaced by servers with 24/7 WvW population.

They have a nightshift army: just look at the queue graphs. They have less queue, but queue means that the WvW zone is already at its max population.

VS does not have more people in WvW. It just mean they have more people waiting to enter WvW.

Do you even understand what Full/High/Medium next to the server name means? It’s the POPULATION of the server, NOT the people currently ONLINE. So even if FS or Des server have 5 people online at 4am it will still show as FULL.

Wouldn’t expect from people who take pride in pvp’ing gates and npc’s to have any brain activity. You’re like bots, so maybe npc’s are the right enemies for you after all.

One thing is for sure : the server that manage to get its keeps upgraded to 3 will have a huge advantage when “prime time” comes. Sadly, when it comes to night capping, even if Arenanet were to publish population numbers along with timezones percentage for each server, this will not end the trolling I have seen since 3 weeks. This is why we can’t have nice things.

This does not reflect the VS majority and certainly not Grand Cross’s opinion.

I do agree. Several times, against quit big enemies gathering, I spent my whole fighting by trying to kill people I did not see by using the tab key. In one occasion, after opening a keep gate, we rushed in because the courtyard was “clean”, only to be almost insta killed by aoe 3 secondes later and having a HUGE crowd poping in from of me 20 seconds later.

Eventhough it was far from perfect, the AION system of removing models but leaving the “tags” is better than seeing nothing at all.

In those situations, I just stealth: it removes the mark. While it’s not perfect because if forces you to have at least one “stealth skill” ready, it’s very effective.

You might like it for now but destroying your opponents in a way they find really unfair like this will inevitably lead to a death of interest in 3W from them which leads to pure boredom for you by sheer absence of opposition.

Once again, like almost everybody from Vizunah said, we are dedicated WvW players : most people from my guild just afk while being on queue to enter WvW and nothing else because they are only there for the WvW. We all come from DAOC and we have been expecting the next DAOC for about 6 years now. So we want to have nice fights as much as you do, but what should we do? Just stop playing or ask our members to stop taking over structures?

I feel for you guys, but don’t blame us for your internal problems because we can’t do a thing about it.

Last night at 3am we had a look on the servers population.

Vizunah Square: High
Far Shiverpeaks: Full
Riverside: Full

So stop blaming us if your folks prefer PvE over WvW.

I do concure. It’s only a skin thing. I did bought a tier 3 greatsword and the first thing I did is to apply its skin on another greatsword which had better stats. 120 golds for a T3 armor is a bit too much since only the “skin” will remain.

It’s part because of Green Fire that is huuuuuuuge, it’s timzeone and its use of very effective WvW tactics and part because during prime time most of the structured guilds on VS can’t get more than 20% of their members in WvW (yesterday we were 13 [FM] for 56 in queue).

To be honest, I’m pretty sure that if we all could see our position within the queue, it would not be as bad as it is today: not knowing anything makes it worse.

For 3 days in a row I was not able to enter WvW even though I logged each time around 17h00 (17h35 top). What made it worse for me (and I’m pretty sure for a lot of us) is having guildmates entering the queue 2 hours later than me and getting an invite 30 minutes later. Then you start to wonder if you did something wrong ; if you zoned too many time, if you were not on the right map, if you launched the queue while being on an overflow server, what is that particular windows or action I have made, etc.

Since you don’t have any estimation of you position, you can’t plan ahead so you get stuck in doing nothing in fear you might get the queue to bug and start over and it gets on your nerves.

I think that having “normal” queue with some kind of estimation would help greatly.

At 100 golds, I’m pretty sure people will favor gears, skins (think cultural armors) and shinny stuff (legendary weapons) over a commander icon. Even for medium guilds like mine (90+ members), we are considering at most 1 or 2 commanders.

Please do consider that 24h rounds are just warmups. Just be patient and don’t overestimate too much a server’s strengh based on very short periods where burst of point caps prevails over anything else.

I’m pretty sure that 2 weeks rounds will be more balanced. In the mean time, just enjoy the game (that is if you are not stuck in 4h+ long queues).

The thing is we don’t have much Québécois. Of course we do have some but I’m pretty sure we don’t have many of them. In my alliance (Grand Cross) but for a few people, all members are from France. We do have a handful of people players that do live in Guadeloupe, Réunion, etc. but they are in French territories.

However we do have a lot players that only play at night. And they are quite structured because that’s what we are asking from them.
