Knights aren't dropping loot [Resolved]

i think 15 boxes were a balanced reward for this event. whether you do scarlet hologram or not. imo, farming in queensdale or frostgorge is much more rewarding than this event, so the difference between time spent/loot is ok from my pov. the escape from LA patch was more rewarding than this one, that’s because you were dropping both bags and chests. so i would like to see things like they were yesterday before the last patch.
i suggest to punish leavers, lower-leveled players, norn, asuras, humans and everyone who breathes aswell. in my experience, afking was the only way after 11 try to get two achievements. deal with it.
^ exactly the way of thought which contributes to the current state of real world.
No thank you. Instead of doing an achievement through an “exploit”, I will not do it at all (since these achievements require me to wait for corrects buffs without crossing lasers and thus not DPS for 75% of my time and thus put other people’s success at risk) and instead post a constructive thread on the forum which can tell devs why their ideas were bad.[/quote]
and that’s where you fail. it’s not exploiting, it’s creative playing.
keep complaining, i’m selfish
i suggest to punish leavers, lower-leveled players, norn, asuras, humans and everyone who breathes aswell. in my experience, afking was the only way after 11 try to get two achievements. deal with it.
You could also try:
1) Being better
2) Not getting the achievement you didn’t earnYou don’t deserve the achievement. That’s why it’s an achievement.
Oh, so it’s my fault if everytime i try to fight an invisible laser beam hits me? I don’t think so. Anyway, now i have the achievement and i deserved it, save your rethoric for someone who cares. Anyway, i suggest to punish also who doesn’t ress after being k.o., it’s more annoying than 5-6 ppl afking at the final event.

“No more tricks, Scarlet” seems to be broken. Friends and I succeeded in completing the event and we were never hit by the hologram’s laser nor did we go near the marks but we never got the achievement.
“In Tune” seems to be working though. It took me 5 or 6 tries to understand how it really works. First of all, you need to know that the prime hologram counts. It means that you must not shoot him unless you have the white light boon. If you touch him once without the right boon, you’ll fail.
Also, you must never touch any of the small holograms without having the corresponding boon. If you want to kill one of the red holograms, make sure you have the red boon active. If you don’t and shoot him anyway, you’ll fail.
That’s my experience and I got the achievement once I took every hologram into account (including the big one) and once I managed to avoid shooting any hologram without having the right boon (understand that if you don’t have any boon, you must not shoot).
at my last attempt i’ve been really careful to hit the prime hologram with the prime light, and the 3 mini with the respective coloured light. to be sure i don’t hit the wrong target after the split, i avoided to hit any mob. but still didn’t get the achievement.
i did 9 try and i’ve been very careful to not attack without the right attunement. besides the “warm” welcome scarlet deserves when i teleport inside the breachthing, this achievement is really broken.
it’s possible to do it, a party member did it 30 mins ago. instead, there are some invisible beams that hits and void the chance to get the achievement.
Supposedly some of the beams don’t show up graphically to some players. It could also be that it’s not just the beams that you need to avoid. The AoE attacks may count as well which makes it very annoying.
the achievemnt tooltip says only beam and it’s scorches, but i’ve been hit by some invisible ones or range of beams are bigger than expected.
A friend of mine tired to afk and got the no more tricks achi. I tried to do it non-afk, but the range of the beam/scorth is far bigger than the mere animation. i’ve been quite careful , but i’ve been hit even if i was quite far from the beam. i think i don’t understand how “in tune” works. does it works for the bigger hologram too, or only for the lesser 3?
This asura is wearing something like t2 cultural, but much better….any chance to find it in game?
I’m curious to know if you, the people that asked for vertical progression/gear grind/carrot on a stick, are happy with Ascended gear being added to the game. Is this what you were after? Are you now satisfied? Or are you disappointed? Are you now craving the next level of grind/progression/carrot chasing? Or have you already returned to whatever game it is you came from?
I’d really like to know if this was really worth damaging the game for me and many others.
Those that say Vertical Progression is necessary for a games longevity, then how do you explain successful games such as LoL, DOTA 2, GW1, DAY Z and TF2 (currently 10 x more popular than Planteside 2, even after over 6 years.) all thriving with little to no vertical progression?
I am happy with ascended gear, yes. I like vertical progression and hope they add more to GW2 in the future. I don’t care if you and many others don’t like it, all that matters to me is what I like so yes it’s absolutely worth it. The only game you listed that I like is GW1 and I’ve tried them all except for TF2. Vertical progression is something that keeps me interested in a game, so for me, yes it’s necessary.
i totally agree with your way to think, but what about people that thinks the opposite? i started playing gw2 because i don’t like tradmills, they introduced it, and it’s still fine with me as long as i don’t need that kind of achievement to play. It’s totally fine for me to introduce treadmill as long as people can just decide to do it or not. It’s not the case of ascended items, i think all the contents are still enjoyable, as long as you don’t need it for a mere DPS and EP discussion. As long as they introduce new things and i can decide to do it or not, i’m happy with it. What i hate most is the attention that anet is giving to people asking for treadmills, forgetting that this game phylosophy was far more different at the very beginning, and i mean before the game was even developed. I feel like at every patch they try to move my tolerance threshold, including new VP content, testing my reaction and moving forward the next patch, like if doing this i will get used to VP without even understanding what’s happening.
i’ve found more interesting to craft 2 legendaries in 2 months than crafting my 3 pieces of ascended armor in the same amount of time. i can easily set a goal by myself, i don’t need someone that tells me what to do and when. that’s what happened with ascended armor, someone set a threshold for me, something i had to do against my will, at least to enjoy fractals from level 46. Those who claims that was hard to get cap armor and runes in gw1 didn’t really played it imo. Grinding eotn and nightfall titles was a mere challenge for “cap fans”, i never maxed out anything and i enjoyed all the contents of the game, included speedclears. The philosophy of gw1 was a lot different that gw2, claiming that gw1 titles and gw2 ascended are the same thing, is a bit reductive and shallow. So, no, i don’t like ascended armor and it wasn’t needed to enjoy the game, there are so manych things to do that it’s impossible to get bored. It’s normal to get bored if you don’t have a goal in your life, waiting for someone else to decide what is your goal too. On the other hand, i understand that ppl loves to follow a carrot on the stick or let someone decide what is needed to have fun. When i’ll have the feeling that gw is going to become a p2w/grindfeast/gear treadmill, i will simply move to another game, because in the end, who decides it’s me

If you want to know my opinion about ascended – I have left the game a month after release. I was able to get lvl 80 and full exotic armor in less than one month, then I did almost all of the dungeons and for another week I had no motication to do anything in the game. Now I came back partially with introduction of ascended weapon crafting and now I’m playing GW2 as my main MMORPG since they added asdended armor craft. Ascended brought me back to the game. I fully enjoy progression, it gives me a reason to play, to get my equipment maxed.
You have mentioned about games without vertical progression, like LOL, DOTA, TF2 – none of them is a MMORPG. It’s a completly different game, so comparing them to GW2 is not good.
On the other hand, GW1 was more like a singleplayer game for me. I have finished campaigns and left the game for few months, then I turned it on again, created a new character, finished campaigns and left it again, for good. There was no reason for me to do anything else in the game than story. It was a solid game, but I would compare it to games like Heretic 2, Drakan or Tomb Raider, just complete missions and game over.
saddest story ever.
lol, is it cultural armor a major issue, really?
Were… were you… like… comatose for the entire Flamekissed debacle or something?
no, i just couldn’t care less. i’m a fan of human t3, it was a dream to see it on my asura. but if ppl just complain about that, it’s fine for me, i agree with qqers crying because their armor wasn’t race locked anymore, and i agreed when anet removed it. the purpouse of such threads is the same as the flamekissed ones, if we cry about something we have a chance to see it ingame.
Just a curious question here. If you have a character that you have invested time, gear and perhaps a legendary or two in, what would suddenly make you want to change your race?
1)legendaries. on asura (at least my case) are just non-existant. i want ppl to see that, that’s why i did it. you can call it however u like, that’s the reason i craft legy.
2)armor. same issue, on asuras are just too small to see details.
i spent a lot of money for my appearance, but i realized it’s worthless because i can be covered by a female norn long skirt or a tree. so i’m not wasting my money anymore on the store until they give me the chance to change race.
Explain why it doesn’t make sense.
It’s very easy, If ANet add race change, all personal story won’t make sense. In my opinion every guy who want race change isn’t real fan.
this really makes sense -.-
Changing your race would change any race-related skills that you have. Also, it would change and affect any cultural armor you have. You would have armor bound to a character and that character isn’t even the appropriate race.
Not to mention the personal story is an integral part of the game. GW2 is an MMORPG. How many RPG’s don’t have a campaign (which is what the personal story is).
I agree with the other posters who say if you want a “generic” personal story, you aren’t a fan of the game. You can make a new character and level them with crafting.
Don’t be lazy. If you want another character if another race make one. If your character slots are full, buy another. Anet still gets your money that way.
lol, is it cultural armor a major issue, really? u talk about lazyness, some ppl doesn’t have the whole day to spend on alts like someone else do, so pls, stop saying bs. i played 1514hrs overall and 1456 only on one char, i hate alts and i don’t even remotely think to exp one to level 80, so why should i make another char of the same class just for the appearance? that’s really stupid.
moreover, no one is asking players to solve this issue, if someone post something about race change on the forum, is to have a constructive dialogue with the devs, don’t feel compelled to answer if you are not interested.

Idk why ppl act so scared about race change. What does it changes in your life is someone else decide to change race? Looks like someone is robbing your home. Honestly, i couldn’t care less about my personal story, if it’s a price to pay for changing my race. I love asuras appearance and cuteness, but i realized there’s nothing more than it. Armors and legendaries are tiny and have poor details, a frostfang or a meteorlogicus on an asura looks like a toothpick, while on other races are showy. I never thought i would ask for a race change, but after crafting my legendaries i could pay even 50€ to change my appearance. After all, anet gave up on many aspects of the manifesto, i’m NOT complaining about it, because i’m still playing, but i feel a race change should be available. Moreover, they didn’t event talk about race change on the manifesto, one more reason it could be available. Look it from the customer perspective: if i don’t like my appearance, it’s useless for me to spend my money buying new cash armor or weapons. If i can’t enjoy changing my equipment, there’s no reason i will buy trasmutation stones or total makeover kits (i spent real money to change my appaearance at least 4 times this year). Legendaries are a goal, appearance is not totally involved when someone decide to craft it, but it’s essential after you do it. It’s superficial to answer someone asking for a race change “just reroll another char and do it all over again”, there’s ppl like me who invested all it’s time on a particoular character, who has a full ascended armor, some legendaries, more than 3 full jewerly ascended sets, various ascended weapons, and countless exotic armor sets with runes on, not mentioning 100% map and a ton of old content soulbound items that are not coming back anymore. Therefore, calculating that once purchased, skins can’t be reused at will on all accounts (if not with an enormous amount of money) I find it fair to those who have decided to change, the ability to change race without being penalized more than they are now. If the goal of anet is to force ppl to buy trasmutation splitters/trasmutation stone to swap items from a toon to another, then it won’t take much for ppl to get bored and play less, maybe leave the game.
In the end, anet is a business, race change is a business, am i free to spend my money as i like?
I’m stuck with my little asura ele. She’s really cute, but my fashion ego isn’t satisfied of the appearance of asuras. Weapons are really small compared to other races, same for armor and back, i can barely see some details, and i selected the tallest asura possible. I crafted a legendary and some ascended armor pieces, but i would like to swap to another char, an human ele. Do you know if there’s a possible way to do so? I hoped anet would introduce race change, but i think that’s impossible right now, and i’m tired of that tiny little walking spot on my screen. Don’t blame me, i love asuras, but i love more to change clothes , weapons and actually being able to see every signle detail on it!
I’m in love with every single weapon, i’m just disappointed because i need a black lion claim ticket for it. Oh well, i guess that’s the price to play a game with a store. That means i will grind gold to buy it on the TP.
If i switch my signets, and there’s a skill in cooldown, the switched signet gets the same cooldown as the other skill. Let’s say i just used arcane wave, the fight is over and i want to switch fire signet for air signet. If i do it, the signet go in cd aswell, even if i didn’t used it.
harpy feathers nerfed…. rip chances to do dredge with only 1 thief ç_ç
thleaving add one-time stat selection for ascended zerker gears only, that can be the solution. it’s good that zerker only meta is being removed from the game. speedruns and skips(mostly glitches) mustn’t exist for a challenging, harder gameplay.
Fractal is the answer, if you want a more hardcore challenge. Speedruns are the answer to trading post farmers, at least we play the game instead of baby sitting the LA tp. Speedrunners will always find the way to complete contents faster, no matter which changes anet is going to do. And after that, ppl complaining about zerker will complain about something else. It’s like a child complaining his mother and being satisfied in everything he wants. After all he will just get bored and will start complaining again. Anet should stop satisfying the complaining childs in gw2, because who complains either don’t have any clue about what’s complaining about or it’s just bored and sooner will leave the game, leaving those who really enjoy the game with something they never asked for.
i don’t need any armor to farm the tp. start doing so, it’s much profitable than dungeons.
i’m getting depressed, just started with speedruns and anet says “we’re going to fix this”. My life sucks….maybe i should start grinding, prolly anet will say “we’re going to remove grind from gw2”!
Youtube explains everything.
Yo folks, i just started using full berz for dungeons with lh, and i really enjoyed it, but i would like to know which is the meta for high level fractal (30+), if there is one. i used to go with this build before 10/12 http://gw2skills.net/editor/?fEQQFAWhEmObzR5gjAA-jECBYjAJfFRjtqpIas6aYKXAaXwqXJVFDSKgHWGB-w even though now some traits are changed, and i felt like this build was lacking of some verve.
i hate my life, going to reroll war
does fields have a limit on applicable blasts? sometimes happens that my blast doesn’t have any effects on fields where a lot of ppl did blast, like lightning fields.
why is impossible to salvage weapons trasmuted with zenith skin? i have a 6g sigil on an exo and i can’t salvage it and upgrade my ascended weapon. is it a bug or not? i have a lot of weapons with expensive sigils on it, if that’s not a bug then i won’t trasmute my weapons anymore :/
did my first song with flute, enjoy
i would like to know if it exist a sheet music of the hymn of faith of FFX. here’s the melody :
Have any pics of asura posing?
I do have an option, but i didn’t farm any of materials i used to raise all profession to 400, and it took me 2 months to raise all of them without grinding or buying it, so doing it all over again it’s not an option for me. It makes no sense to limit the use of recipes to only level 80 chars. I mean, celestial items will still be usable only by chars at level 80, why limiting the crafting process too? Players that didn’t learn any profession at all are free to do it with only 1 char, but what about ppl like me that have alts with maxed professions on low level chars? I invested time and efforts to do it without buying or grind materials, i’m not going to do it again for a nonsense. Even though you can buy materials again takes less than a minute, farming gold it’s time consuming anyway, so time IS a limiting factor too. I would like to know that devs think about it, and if they’re going to fix this or they will implement this kind of limitations in future.
You’re assuming the price of quartz crystals doesn’t shoot through the roof once the Bazaar is gone?
I’m assuming that, just by doing your normal questing and dungeons while the event is still on, you’re gonna have enough quartz for a full set of armor – we’re not talking about investing time to farm the thing, it’s literaly being given to you in bulk for doing nothing out of the ordinary.
Since you can’t sell the armor, you only need to craft it once and be done with it. What happens with the price of quartz after that is irrelevant (unless you have to re-craft ascended Celestial armor from scratch, that is).So you’re saying everyone and their mother will have 6000 crystals in their bank to cover all 8 characters they have? Granted they will get more from the home node, but in most cases the supply will be smaller than demand.
You need 8 months anyways to make enough charged chrystals to deck out 8 characters.
most likely you’ll be playing another game for that date
i already learned all professions with my alts, why should i do it with my main once again? i want to be free to craft with my alts even if they’re not level 80, that’s all. this way i’m forced to level all of them to level 80, it’s not fair, even because i don’t spend all my life in gw like someone elses do.
I was very happy the introduction of new celestial items, but now i’m not . I found that to use the new recipes you need to be level 80. I’m not the kind of person who is happy to exp more than one char, why should I be forced to exp one to level 80 to craft the new armor/weapon? My main char already has 2 professions capped, and i have other char with others professions capped, i don’t want to exp all of them to level 80 to craft new contents. I hope this is a bug, because i’ll be very kitten ed if with the introduction of new ascended armor/weapons i’ll be forced to be level 80 to craft it.
Hi everybody, i noticed a huge fps breakdown while playing wv3, i wonder if there’s something i can do about it. I tried playing at the lowest graphic settings, but 1st i don’t really like it, 2nd fps gain is quite low compared to higher grapic options. The worst situation is when more than 100 players are in the same area, like keeps, i start losing fps even if i’m far from the battle (aside from skill lag). My internet broadband is not that good, but i don’t think that’s the reason of my low fps. It’s a bit disappointing, i assembled my pc 10 months ago with an intel i7 3770, a sapphire 7870 ghz edition and a crucial m4 ssd, and i usually run at 25-40 fps in LA and 10-30 fps in wv3, it’s not possible! can someone explain me if there’s a bottleneck in my hardware or it depends from my graphics settings?
thank you anet for this change, best fix ever!
really… condition damage, healing power? apothecary? wat?
so this is why I have an extremely easy time beating most nub elementalists in wvw…
i agree with razor. anyway, staff gameplay is mostly designed for teamplay while in wv3. for solo roaming i suggest s/d or the overrated d/d bunker. i usually avoid both cond damage/healing power while using staff or s/d, benefits from these stats are quite low for eles. all you have to do is ask to yourself: “how am i going to play with my ele? am i going with a large number of ppl (more than 15)? or am i going to solo or with a small party?”. for the armor, i suggest to start with knight or soldier and slowly balance with your jewelry until you reach your personal balance. it is preferable to change equipment / weapons / traits depending on the situation you’re going to face, there is no fixed formula. as an example, i usually do wv3 with my guild at prime time, and since we’re at least 15, i usually run with staff and soldier armor mixed with knight/cavalier/berz jewels. this gives me a lot of survivability, support and a decent amount of dps. sometimes you may notice a lack of dps while running with your warband, if you do, you can switch to knight armor and berz/valk/soldier jewels, to maximise your dps without affecting your survivability too much.
wtf – you guys don’t have the slightest idea how to play an elementalist do you?
s/d without heal? the ele dont benefit from healpower? bro it’s the whole idea behind s/d ele to get the survivability through healpower… It’s called balance ele – in tpvp you play it with a valkyrie’s amulet and rune of the scholar in combination with water VI and air VI to generate your dmg with a decent amount of survivability.Next point, the staff benefits in a big way from an all stat gear – why you ask?
easy, you can use every single stat on these items, even +cond and +heal. Thats why it’s so kittening strong for a staff ele.
If you don’t believe me, just watch this stream http://en.twitch.tv/chemsorly/old
I think you all know Red Guard – maybe you guys get it this way…The only build were you dont benefit that strong from +cond and +heal is a d/d build, but thats not what we discuss here.
unfortunately for you, there isn’t only one way to play an ele, and this post is about wv3 and not spvp. if you ever played wv3 you should know that. while in spvp there are only few successfully builds for ele, in wv3 things drastically change. it’s stupid to tell ppl how to play, fortunately gw2 gives us the chance to play the way we like, far from meta builds or crap like that. i’m not saying that your gameplay is wrong, but it’s not even the best way to play. same for me. it’s just matter of personal style. chemsorly have an aggressive approach to the battlefield, with valk/berz/sold equip, i have a solid approach with soldier/knight/cavalier. it’s half true that staff eles benefit from all stats. you are the jack of all trades regardless from your equipment, imo it’s better to focus on a single role instead of being an hybrid. but that fits to my gameplay, not yours or everyone else. what real elementalists should do is to expose the various alternatives and let the undecided players test their skills using the various assets, not forcing ppl to use build that doesn’t fit their personal gameplay.
