The Berserker Torch skill #4, Blaze Breaker, will not activate if your back is facing the targeted enemy. For comparison, Warrior Sword skill #2, Savage Leap, will automatically turn your character to face the targeted enemy and perform the skill correctly. It definitely seems like these two skills should operate the same way. From a condi perspective I think it makes more sense to be able to throw down Blaze Breaker to start getting fire ticks before jumping in with Savage Leap to start melee to get bleeding ticks going, this bug complicates that rotation. Further, if you dodge through the enemy to evade an attack then your back is likely now facing the enemy so Blaze Breaker will not activate.
Also while I’m here, the small red ‘no line of sight’ warning can be quite difficult to notice depending on the environment. This is a problem because you can just be hammering on the skill for a while thinking you are lagging before you notice the warning. I don’t really have a suggestion for how to make that more intuitive/noticeable but it is frustrating. I know there is also a red message that shows up on the combat channel of the chat box but I can’t imagine many people actually keep that enabled on their main tab since it tends to be quite spammy.
Just chiming in as well. It’s pretty annoying to put all the effort into getting this just to have it not work properly.
Also, really…23 days and no response AT ALL? Come on.
If you release a skin that makes bats fly around you but don’t make it reasonably obtainable during the Halloween event then what is the point? If you release a skin that makes it snow around you but make it more likely to be obtained months after the Wintersday event then what is the point?
When I started the collection I thought it was super awesome! I had almost everything I needed already and the remaining requirements (3 jormags, 3 jumping puzzles, ect.) all seemed reasonable and I thought for sure I could grind it out on day one and have the skin to go with my awesome Wintersday attire for the rest of the event. Man was I wrong. Even grinding for 2 or 3 days or maybe even a week would have been ok because I would still be able to show off the skin for a majority of the Wintersday event. Now…I don’t know when I’ll get it, it may literally be summer when I’m actually able to drink enough to get the skin. I mean honestly are these skins meant to be for next year?
I just don’t get it.
Also, the fact that it’s probably just as fast to farm Silverwastes and buy the drinks from the trading post should be viewed as a major design flaw. You created something meant to attract people to the Wintersday activities that is actually just pushing people away from them.
Also also, the fact that you guys ignore anything controversial these days is very concerning. Every time you let something like this go you are sending the message that nothing is wrong. That you think 10,000 drinks is reasonable. That you expected this type of reaction. That you just don’t care enough to actually address these concerns. And more than anything it shows you are completely out of touch with your players.
It is pretty annoying to have the ‘continue’ box pop up in the middle of the screen. I think it would be better below the party/above chat like the pvp dialog does.

Yes, right after beating VG we cleared the woods.
Just went all the way through the Spirit Woods without going down/dying/dropping the spectral torch but when I got to the brazier there is no way to light it.
I attached a screenshot, everyone in the squad left after clearing the woods but there was a full 10-man squad for the clear.
It seems kind of silly to let people speculate and get their hopes up about the fractal changes dropping today when you guys knew it was never part of the plan. A simple “It won’t be the coming with the December 1st patch” would have done.
To be clear, speculation isn’t something we can control, nor will we bounce into every thread that contains a speculative comment to try address it. We did not announce, and never planned for, a drop on December 1st. If you are disappointed, I really am sorry to hear that. I’m familiar with speculation — we had a lot of it as we prepared to release Guild Wars, Guild Wars 2, Guil… well, you follow my drift.
It’s part of the nature of our sharing info about upcoming games, features, or improvements, that someone will speculate a date and that the date — even while never stated by us — may come to be seen as “obvious” or even “official.”
In this case, we wanted to share the news that good things are coming, but as in other cases, a date was not tied to that info.
I just checked with Production, and everything is on track to see the introduction of fractal changes later this month.

Why willingly let people get excited about something when there are no plans for it? That only leads to frustration and disappointment. One short message in any thread (especially this very thread) and all the speculation would have gone away.
The fact that you think “speculation isn’t something we can control” is actually the most ridiculous thing I think you have ever said. It is absolutely controllable. Say something once in one place and the community will echo it. That goes for anything, ever!
You had 18 days to step into this thread and just say “this isn’t coming on December 1st” but you just didn’t. And instead of just admitting that you made a mistake you decide to come here and basically say ‘yeah we know you were expecting this but just didn’t say anything because you guys speculate about everything and we can’t be bothered.’
This isn’t new though, communication is getting worse by the day. Not sure why, when, or how this trend started but it is depressing. Look anywhere on the forums, something is wrong with communication.
This is a huge problem for the underwater fractal (which i know people avoid like the plague) since the jelly fish beast has a move where he eats you and applies agony.
It is not just a bug with the UI since the agony applied in the 42 scale instantly kills you (not just down) if you get eaten.
This applies specifically to the Dolphin path. My agony resistance went from 106 to 0 when I transformed into a dolphin and then when I came out of dolphin form at the boss, my agony resistance was still 0.

A screenshot would help, i don’t have any black lines so i have no idea what you’re talking about without seeing it.
There is a weird bug where if 2 nodes are close to each other and you get an extra strike, your extra strike will go away if you harvest a different node close by.
Steps:
1) Find 2 nodes next to each other (best demonstrated at a vegetable node farm such as the flax farm in Verdant Brink)
2) Harvest all of the nodes except 2 that are close to each other.
3) Harvest 1 of the 2 nodes that are left. (At this point you will need to get a second strike on this same node in order to see the bug, running a few boosters helps ensure this)
4) Go to the second node that is left and harvest it.
5) Notice both nodes disappear when the second is harvested.
The expected behavior would be for the node harvested once in step 3 to maintain is second strike when the node is harvested in step 4.
We can miss out on potentially a few strikes of gathering from this bug so I’d say it is pretty serious since that adds up over time.

Sometimes after I play for a while I notice some textures start to go missing and shortly after that I crash. I’ve attached a screenshot of the missing textures on other players also.
This crash and the OOM crash everyone else is getting are the only things I ever seen in the crash report box.
I would have reported this and sent the screenshot through the in-game tool but that is actually what crashed me. When I clicked the ‘support’ button, the game crashed.
Also, the crash report says I’m using Windows 6.2 whatever that means. It’s actually Windows 10 64-bit.

I was trying to do the octovine event with my guild in Auric Basin yesterday and they said they were on ip x.×.×.165 so I typed in /ip and it told me I was on ip x.×.×.165 but I couldn’t see them anywhere so it turned out they were on some sort of separate shard from me. The complete ip matched, *the full set of numbers*, so it wasn’t just a coincidence that our maps ended in the same numbers.
So I thought that was weird.
Well today, we were organizing for Tangled Depths. Same thing happened. Some of our guild ended up on some seperate shard of the map with the exact same ip.
Now here is where things get crazy.
One of our leaders suggested that people get off of the other shard onto any other ip they could. The theory here being that our map shard was sharing a map cap with the other shard. People started getting into our shard like crazy. So it definitely seems like the cap is being shared among all of these shards. Are there even supposed to be more than one map instance on an ip? I’ve never seen this before.
If this is a bug it would actually make a lot of sense because some maps are quite empty but not being closed so perhaps some other shard is keeping that instance open as well since it seems they would be sharing a cap.
Our influence got fully reimbursed with the recent letters of influence. Thanks!
Same as previous posts. Accepted the items from the mail, they were used instantly and error messages came up saying “Influence conversion failed. Please try again.”
Might be because our aetherium is currently maxed out or something. I was hoping they would just go into my inventory and i could use them later when we aren’t full.

Also switched characters, same result.
I also tried walking into the portal from Auric Basin and I still get kicked with the same message. I just want to put these last 2 shovels in our treasury so I can finish the mine upgrade!

I join my guild hall from the guild panel and load into an empty(no NPCs) fully upgraded guild hall. Shortly after that all the NPCs show up and the building disappear and a message pops up saying “The instance owner has left, you will be returned to Lion’s Arch.”
I’ve tried logging out and back in, and several all other guild members are experiencing this as well.

Also, in regards to #2 listed above, some hero points don’t indicate what mastery they need even when you are right at them.
For example, the hero point in Verdant Brink below Wyvern Cliffs has a Nuhoch Wallows transport to get down to it even though you can glide into the side of the cliff but just leveling up the ability to use the Nuhoch Wallows to reach the point legitimately does not let you claim the hero point. So now I am left wondering what level of mastery I actually do need to be able to claim it since there are no indications. The extra tooltip info regarding the required mastery would clear up this confusion.
Hey! I didn’t see a place to put suggestions so I’m just going to put it here. These are just some quality of life improvements I think would be awesome.
1) Add the current map reward to the main UI. It would be way easier to know what the current reward is at a glance instead of having to open up the full map and hover over the zone name to see it. Alternatively it could be added to the top left of the map screen below the zone completion details.
2) Show what mastery is required to reach/obtain a hero point or mastery point. It can get pretty frustrating to work towards reaching a hero point location only to be denied obtaining it because you don’t have the right mastery. I imagine this could be added to the hover-over tooltip for the hero and mastery point icons on the map. For example, the Hero Point in Auric Basin between the Tarnished Treetop and the Westwatch Patch requires you to have the Itzel Poison Lore mastery so when I hover over it I would appreciate if the tooltip said:
Hero Point
-Earn 10 hero points.
-Requires Itzel Poison Lore Mastery

According to the patch notes, “Adventures are repeatable, single-player challenges with leaderboards. Compete against your friends and guildmates for bragging rights.”
But they are locked behind some other seemingly random event being completed. How can something that is supposed to be a single-player challenge depend on completing an event that will take several players?
Maybe I’m just not getting what is actually supposed to be happening here but the map I’m on has had this Tendril Torchers adventure locked for over an hour. I don’t even know what I’m supposed to be doing in the north to unlock it because it doesn’t actually tell me where to go.
It just seems like if these are supposed to be small repeatable challenges then they should always be available.
What is the upfront cost for actually mounting the expedition to claim a guild hall? I’ve been trying to stay away from all the announcements/videos about the expansion because I want everything to be fresh and amazing when I see it in game for the first time but my guild is relatively small and we plan 1 event a week for missions and such so I just want to sort of gauge how long it will be before we are ready to actually mount the expedition.
Everyone that has done fractals for a while knows that if you die during Mai Trin you can relog and Ellen Kiel will res you and you can walk to a certain spot to get back into the fight. It’s a bug that has been a part of this fractal since I can remember and it NEEDS TO BE FIXED.
I got kicked from a party just now for NOT RELOGGING FAST ENOUGH. One or two people went down and I died so I relogged to get back in and when I got back into the fractal a vote kick was called and I was kicked from the party. When I messaged one of the people in the party he said I was “a useless kitten who didn’t know how to relog.” So now this bug has gone from something that people use to make the fight easier to something that people think is required to beat the encounter and are actually kicking people who don’t relog or even just those who don’t relog fast enough.
Just PLEASE fix it. It sucks so much to get to the final fight in a full set of fractals and get kicked before getting the final loot.
Really still no official word? I’ve pretty much stopped playing since it seems like 1) they really don’t care and 2) my items aren’t safe. I mean why even play this game if you aren’t sure if your inventory will be the same from day to day. Sorry but I just really don’t want to feel like I’m playing the lottery every time I log in.
This could have all been avoided by simply communicating this change in advance. And it could all be fixed by simply adding the karma booster back to the selectable boosters on the enchantment powder.
At this point that doesn’t seem likely though so all that I really want now is an explanation/apology. Seriously though, complete silence on this issue and future controversial issues is NOT the way to go. Please learn how to communicate effectively and stop making the people who support your game feel like they don’t matter enough to respond.
Really still no official word? It is incredibly frustrating not to at least get a ‘yeah we meant to do this’ or a ‘no this is a bug’ from someone.
If you guys are aware of this and meant to do this AT LEAST just tell us so we can get on with our lives.
Also why is it like pulling teeth to get official word on this? At least let us know that you are reading this and doing SOMETHING. I mean we can all see that this post has been viewed almost 4k times already. Just say something.

This HAS to be a bug or an oversight. I mean the icon for the ‘Enchanted Reward Boosts’ still has the purple color on it and everything.
Would be nice to know if this is actually a bug or not. Really hoping it is since people who didn’t convert their boosts get to keep their karma boosts. It is completely unfair and if this was intended then we should have been warned and given a way to change our boosts back.
Same story here, I had over 50, not sure the exact amount. Converted them all probably 2 months ago, actually converted all my boosts since it seemed like a good idea.
“Previously purchased boosters will still work.” Obviously not.

Happened twice, got 1 burn on cobalt, popped second burn and everyone on on the map disconnected.
I was leveling a new character and came across this amazing place. The amount of detail in this game is absolutely stunning! You can even light a candle!

7. I was walking towards the heart and the heart NPC disappeared and then moments later I died by taking 326492 damage.
The random death bug is not just in LA, I’ve experienced it in Caledon Forest, Bloodtide Coast, and Lornar’s Path also so it is definitely widespread. Here are screenshots of this happening to me just now.
The first picture shows the map, I was just doing map completion with a friend and I randomly died (again). The waypoint right above me disappeared so I relogged to see if it would show up so I could waypoint. When I relogged I was in a completely different spot of the map, a part I hadn’t even uncovered yet.
The second picture is what it looked like in-game, I didn’t even respawn in an area that is reachable normally.
As I said this has happened to me A LOT since the patch, at least once an hour or so. Sometimes it happens several times in a very short time period and everything gets very laggy, no skills fire, players running in a straight line, all NPCs disappear.

Yes. I was able to go in earlier when I was just looking around. Now I can’t get back in, she just keeps saying she is busy and ‘go away’.
I got banned about 2 years ago during an official live stream about revamped legendary weapon effects. I asked if there were going to be any changes to the Predator and suddenly I got permanently banned. I’m not sure if it was an accident or what but I would really like to be able to talk in the chat again.

These messages popped up during our attempt so we abandoned our run. The problem is, the map never actually closed, it just suddenly said the maintenance was complete. Apparently the same thing happened yesterday during our NA time slot attempt. Very inconvenient considering the amount of time and effort we put into doing this raid.
At this point I wouldn’t even care if there was no rewards. Just playing it was tons of fun. I JUST WANT TO PLAY SAB AGAIN!!!
I would LOVE for this to come back but I’m also worried it might be the only thing I do for several months. And by only thing I mean I would probably have to be forced to stop and eat.
