Too funny. Guess I’ll go back to playing Starcraft 2. More than half of Anvil Rock decided, f-it. We had more than 30 people sweeping the last time, and we still couldn’t find the Mesmer.

Most of us have given the old shrug, and are moving on to other, funner things.

You got what you wanted. I think Kalkz bragging about PvDoor is better than bragging about PvGuards.

After what I did playing a Bright Wizard in Warhammer, and what I did playing a Warlock in Everquest II to hoards of players, my answer is NO! If you had no limite on AoEs, no one would play anything but an AE class, and this is coming from someone who has a Glamour Mesmer who practically doesn’t have an AE limit, and someone who also plays a Wells/Mark necro, collecting an ungodly amount of bags every big fight.

No caps on AoEs is the lazy mans way of saying; “I don’t want to fight”.

I agree that players shouldn’t be able to damage the gate as well as they do, but it is what it is.

No, Hills is fine, the issue are all other keeps, and towers. Hills is the only true defendable keep, when all should be easily defended.

A good group of people will bring Thieves, and Elementalist to protect ally siege, and then you can easily take Hills, so long as the PUGs protect your siege from pushes.

Mishmash Hybrid of Cleric/PTV final “stats” end up 3K Armor 2K toughness 20K hits 1K Healing (3 passive regens) and 2K Power/3K attack, steady white damage…burst comes from pet and I have NO Crit/rate or Damage

Spec is 0-0-30-10-30 with focus on Protection/Barkskin/Regen/Vigor

Sigils of Energy or Hydromancy and Dwayna Runes

Hes posted quite a few double bow vids, with and without healing, An old daoc friend who got me into GW2 and making a ranger.

With confusion becoming the go to thing lately, I wonder how this build would work with Melandru Runes in place of Dwayna Runes, and Lemongrass food in place of Mango Pie so that conditions just roll off of you, reducing a lot of incoming damage since the counter to high toughness, is condition damage.

This screenshot is definitely too far for it to be Mesmer clones. Like I said, there’s about 6 people on that front wall looking at you (not including ranger/necro pets).

That’s funny, because from our end, we have the outmanned buff, and see far more of you, than you do. What gives? Did they put culling back in? Counting blue dots (Group), and green dots (allies) there are more than 21 in that video.

Do not soil such a good match up with nonsense like this.

This screenshot is well after we started fighting and is well within 1200 range. There are clones in that picture.

But none of this matters. I’m not trying to argue over something so silly. All I’m saying is give credit where credit is due and don’t complain because somebody posted a video breaking up the monotony of whining and complaining on these forums.

Good old internet. If you don’t automatically agree with someone, you are complaining.

You’ve been given props, go read the rest of the thread. However, do you think poeple should overlook such a glaring exaggeration? You wouldn’t, and it’s dishonest to make me out to be something I’m not because I’m asking for a little bit of honesty from you.

This thread is full of people patting you guys on the back from AR, at least use some common courtesy instead of exaggerating. When a bunch of people are in close proximity, they always appear larger than they are. It’s always a reality when I’m picking up my loot bags after thinking, hey we just fought fourty people, only to discover I’m picking up no more than twenty one bags after tagging everyone with AEs.

I suppose getting you to admit there was at least thirteen is an improvement. I’ll accept it for what it is. I was following this group because there was a commander I’ve never seen before, so wanted to see the tactics they used. I never expected this level of exaggeration.

The outmanned buff counts for the ENTIRE map, not just your specific fight.

Regardless it wasn’t seven, and it wasn’t thirteen. My screenshot right before the wall comes down shows more than thirteen people on the wall, not counting those on siege. The only thing I cared about was the dishonesty calling it seven, against fourty.

No one is complaining, but look at the screenshot before the wall went down, and count. There is definately more than seven, and even your thirteen. We’ve killed just as many people when they come through a choke point and a Warrior plus Arrow Carts lock people down.

I’m just saying be a little honest about the entire situation. Saying seven took on fourty is obviously dishonest, so don’t try to reverse it on me, because you are exaggerating. And I didn’t die either, as per this screenshot, so I could care less that I stumbled on the zerg, and decided to stick my head in, and see what was going on.

@Ladylad if you really want to take into account EVERY access to movement impairing conditions (IE can’t have them all in one build) against the ranger YOU WILL LOSE, because you know, not like we don’t have access to immobs through pet, or KDs, or KBs, or fear…

PS: since when do d/d eles -kite- people? That’s like saying a dagger necro has an immob for kiting…

Not every elementalist is a D/D elementalist. I’m sure not. A good Elementalist will never have an issue with any condition, or stun. Just saying.

And your pet applying anything to a player just means that player has learn to play issues.

You just made an argument about eles being “amazing kiters” due to their CC list and a large amount of those skills are from daggers, another large amount are from conjures…

And I -know- eles can stay at range nicely and can kite I play a staff ele… But they’re kitten if paired with a ranger.

D/D Elementalist will have a hard time fighting any ranged build, but the smarter ones do not run D/D, and will tear up Rangers, or any ranged build for that matter. Keep an eye out for the HGH Engineer builds, you’ll be surprised at how well they play, and how well they kite anyone who chooses not to carry a ranged weapon. The Engineer will quickly become the next Elementalist that people complain about.

HGH has been around forever, it’s no stronger than it originally was either so idk how it’d suddenly become the next D/D ele…

Not to step in on your little argument, but you don’t know much about the game. This is what happens when you theorycraft, rather than play.

Borliss Pass, this is what it looks like when Anvil Rock faces Ebay a lot. Notice the open wall, the outmanned buff, the siege hitting us, and we’re still fighting fights you guys seem to avoid.

What you do not notice is the fun we are having fighting. Honestly put your chins up, fight, and have fun. We are having a lot of fun. All this forum complaining for months on end has become old.

I was at the top of those stairs and it looks even more epic from your point of view. Really good fights going on BP bl right now.

Someone waved me up, and even my cat said; “You so qwazy.” Eventually when the tanks fell, I dodged out of the tower, and took a swim, making it safely downstream.

It’s been a lot of fun, and quite frankly I enjoy Ebay. I don’t get to play as often as I would like, but since this match up, I always find a variety of fights against Ebay, be it 1v1, small group fights, or medium zerg fights. Every time I have encountered BP, they’ve had 40+ people, and rarely less.

Thanks for giving me great fights, and hope we face Ebay for a long time.

If you think thief is OP. PLEASE! PLEASE iam begging you make one and go one of yours WTFIMBAGLASSCANNON build and tell me how it went….

As a Thief in WvW, I think they’re OP in some areas, while they need help in others. You do not need to run glass canon to kill people, you do not have to have stealth to stay alive, though it helps. No other class in the game can evade, or teleport as often as a Thief built correctly.

In over 15k kills, I’ve lost to two Necromancers in a one on one situation. The loses were my fault.

The Necromancer however shines in group vs group, or zerg vs zerg play. I don’t think any other class can match the amount of bags you can get with a Necromancer, and no other class in the game synergizes as well as the Necromancer does with other classes condition builds.

I might try your build, but if I do, I’ll probably go Runes of Melandru and the food that reduces Condition Duration. I understand your rune and food choice, but I don’t like putting all my eggs in one basket, and condition removal lately has been awesome since there are so many Condition Damage Builds lately, and fewer burst builds.

Great work on the buid by the way.

Just a heads up, this build has condition removals built in. Four conditions removed every ten seconds (and the removal timing is independent of when conditions are stacked). Also if it gets real bad, you can pop the signet for instant removal.

Still, to each their own. I would strongly suggest using fern hound if you do use Melandru though because you will be missing out on a lot of regeneration, and that’s a HUGE part of the build.

I havn’t played my Ranger in a very, very long time. Why Troll Ungent over healing spring, and if you’re wanting to max out regens, why not Runes of the Dolyak?

I think the biggest reason i dont play my thief is the haste nerf.

I dont find d/d interesting at all, i play s/d. Its much funner.

s/d relies heavily on proccing haste, which that gone, there is little reason to play s/d other than trolling.

And also…
Nerf pistol whip because its too OP with haste
Nerf haste
Leave pistol whip nerfed…

Ok how does that work? It should be buffed back to normal.

They should just allow us Thieves to move, while using pistol whip.

No good Thief left because of the culling fix, or the increase on reveal. Those made nearly zero changes to how any of the builds could be played.

The biggest change, not only to the Thief people have quit over, are the changes to Haste, and this change didn’t just get rid of a lot of Thieves, but many other players too, from the ranks of Warriors, Mesmers, and Rangers.

Trait: Barkskin the effect triggers individually for pet and ranger an stacks ADDITIVELY with both protection and frost armor which can net up to a 73% damage reduction.

By individually I mean if pet has 25% or less health it gets Barkskin, if ranger has 25% or less he gets Barkskin, the other will not gain the effect until they reach the appropriate health %

This is not true. If Barkskin is up, you only get the damage reduction of Barkskin, and not get anything from Protection. This was tested, and confirmed.

There is a hard cap to damage reduction, like there is a hard cap to run speed. <winks>

This isn’t even impressive, doesn’t even look like your fighting a real zerg, at most 15 people..lol

First fight was a three way fight that they entered into, after the other two groups started fighting. Stopped watching after that. Too funny.

This is the guild that left their server, and joined HoD so they didn’t have to fight the HoD guilds. That’s why they always try to recruit other roaming guilds to join thier server because they fear that one day they will get another spanking that AD gave them.

They’re just another troll guild, as you see in thier video admitting to. Pay them no mind.

The 20man can be organized or not. As long as the small guild has the skill to fight them. Im looking for the one skilled guild above all.

You might also look into ADD NOQQ and BTSY not sure what servers they are on now though… Of the ones I mentioned I’d say XOXO/SPCA aren’t really focused on synergy and supporting each other rather just skilled players who run together.

lol we fought them before when we were the lesser guild then we are now-ENVY , and “they would shred us” did not happen, sorry to burst your bubble. We also btw at one point had a good time fighting a long side them when they briefly joined our server(noQQ- and a guild they used to run with LARP).

Part of the problem with solo’ing lupi is how much effort it is jk. Seriously, you basically need a party to help you get there and that’s asking a lot. The last way to solo your way there that I knew of was nerfed away after the portal gun nerf. After that, expect to spend 12 hours practicing or longer. Strife025 mentions practicing for 11 hours before feeling like he was good at it. 11 hours of practice doesn’t mean warrior is sooo good I don’t think, rather, it means Strife or (insert soloist’s name here) isn’t just playing the ultimate of professions or whatever you might believe—they’re well practiced.

You’re the PvE Ranger, so if you thought you could do it, you would. If nothing more than to be able to say; “in your face”. The fact you havn’t tried it speaks volumes. Rangers in my guild who have tried, and said it isn’t possible, and our Necromancer got pretty darn close. You can’t keep using that excuse.

My guildmates are waiting for the why, to their answer.

Did they practice for a dozen hours like strife025 claimed it took him? Not tk take anything away from strife, he’s a heck of a player. Have warriors in your guild put in the time to practice that and then do it?

The necromancer has put in roughly 12 hours, the Rangers gave up after 10. The Warriors see no need to do it since it has been proven a Warrior can do it. Our Mesmers have put in roughly 8 hours, but they’re not sure it is possible with the Mesmer either, and are losing interest. Our Guardians when asked, say; No, just no. Our guild leader has offered 1000g to the first class besides a Warrior who can do it.

if you spend time analysing the attack pattern of lupicus you will be able to do it. Just a matter if you have the patience to spend so much time and effort on it. And who knows if he will even give you 1000g for real.

Actually, I’m not bluffing. I’ve paid 400g to people I’ve lost duels to, while gaining 700g from people I’ve won duels against.

It really sucks they pushed the WvW patch back to March. Been enjoying my Warrior though, so if they don’t help the Ranger out, no skin off my back. This is the quality of a good Warrior, and you wouldn’t see a Ranger doing this, in a small group, against all odds.

Guardians kit vs Warriors'

My bunker Warrior is far, far more durable than my bunker Guardian. The thing I love most about my bunker Warrior is triggering my three second shield block, running into a zerg, watching the Might stack to 20ish, and absolutely demolishing my target of choice.

Even better, my shout heals, heal my entire GROUP, not just myself, unlike the Guardian, who heals himself.

To add icing to the cake, the Guardian has downtime on his boons, while I also provide a permanent Swiftness, Regen, Fury, and 3 stacks of Might to my group, unless we’ve been in a prolonged fight.

After playing an 80 Thief, 80 Guardian, 80 Ranger, and 80 Warrior all in exotic gear, no other class in the game has felt as complete as the Warrior has for me.

I’ve been in fights running with a Guardian buddy, and they’ve killed him for example today a 3v2, they had (Elementalist, Thief, and Mesmer), and I held them the entire time it took my buddy to run across the borderlands to get back to us, so we could finish them off.

The BIG difference is the Guardian has much better condition removal, and I’ve found myself running Sigil of Purity a lot on my Warrior.

See the thing is that a healing power bunker Guardian can heal the group just as easily. (see the healway build posted earlier) With our 15 point dodge = AoE heal we can heal just as much as your shouts, add that in with sigil of energy, and the food that gives might on dodge and endurance regen it adds up to ALOT of group healing.

Also we can do the same exact same thing with block on might with shelter, our aegis use, and focus #5. The big difference I have really seen is the types of boons we give compared to warrior, mostly the difference in protection and fury. We have a little fury (only on ourselves) but alot of protection. You guys have alot of fury but little protection. As far as bunker’s go between the classes the only real difference is the buffs we give. And honestly I would say that Guardians pull ahead just because of our massive retaliation uptime, and how much damage that can do to people.

You’re missing a major difference in regards to defense. With Mace I can keep Weakness on multiple targets for a very long time. Which means unless they’re heavily crit spec’d, they’re doing a lot less damage to me, and my group. You would be suprised how effect this is, when you couple it with Rata Sum Runes. To me forcing condition removals, and also reducing damage is far superior than you providing Protection, considering most classes have thier own Protection buffs.

What is the radius to the dodge heal? I rarely get hit with it in WvW running with Guardians, because we’re moving around a lot. The radius to my shout heals seems to be pretty large in comparison.

Paid Transfers - A massive mess up

A lot of server hoppers in here afraid of not being able to transfer to a winning server, once their server starts losing.

These free transfers have destroyed a lot of servers, and ruined the fun of those loyal enough to stay on a server, win or lose.

This is why Armor is useless.

Protection/dodge roll?

I’ve hit people who have had Protection up for 9k, your point? Dodge rolls are so limited, while great, they are no where near the counterbalance to the damage I can get, in a single blow.

And if you can’t remove a root, or stun because your class happens to have a long cooldown timers on your stun breaks (or your stun break doesn’t always work because it is buggy), you are not going to be able to dodge.

It would be different if you got a full two seconds worth of evades off a dodge roll.

The last bunker Guardian I killed who told me he had 3200 Armor, with his Protection up, looked like this.

I don’t think he knew where I was the entire fight because I was working on showing someone that you can stay perma stealth attacking a wall, so I come at him in stealth. He dodged twice, healed maybe twice, and he died.

It’s one of the reasons I havn’t played my Guardian for a long time.

My bunker Warrior is far, far more durable than my bunker Guardian. The thing I love most about my bunker Warrior is triggering my three second shield block, running into a zerg, watching the Might stack to 20ish, and absolutely demolishing my target of choice.

Even better, my shout heals, heal my entire GROUP, not just myself, unlike the Guardian, who heals himself.

To add icing to the cake, the Guardian has downtime on his boons, while I also provide a permanent Swiftness, Regen, Fury, and 3 stacks of Might to my group, unless we’ve been in a prolonged fight.

After playing an 80 Thief, 80 Guardian, 80 Ranger, and 80 Warrior all in exotic gear, no other class in the game has felt as complete as the Warrior has for me.

I’ve been in fights running with a Guardian buddy, and they’ve killed him for example today a 3v2, they had (Elementalist, Thief, and Mesmer), and I held them the entire time it took my buddy to run across the borderlands to get back to us, so we could finish them off.

The BIG difference is the Guardian has much better condition removal, and I’ve found myself running Sigil of Purity a lot on my Warrior.

Armor is practically useless because the diminishing returns on toughness are to the extreme, which is only compounded by the fact there are zero defensive counters to the following;

- 25 stacks of Might > Good groups can attain this pretty easy.
- 25 stacks of Bloodlust
- 25 stacks of Vulnerability > Not everyone can clear this, and cooldowns on condition removal abilities on some classes are very high.
- No cap on bonus to crit damage, which is further compounded by Ascended Gear.

To give an example of how easy it is to get some of this, one Ranger, and one Warrior can get you to 25 stacks of Vulnerability in 2 seconds.

This is why Armor is useless.

Armor – IE: BASE Heavy Armor – Needs a boost tbh.

Now, what that pic isn’t telling is if you had 25 Stacks of Vulnerability on you and they had 25 Stacks of Bloodlust + 25 Stacks of Might, along w/ thier 150% Crit Dmg Utility…. if that’s the case… well then, you deserve to die because that just doesnt’ happen as often as not.

lol…. You don’t need all of that to get that kind of damage.

Anvil Rock loves its Rangers. You’ll see mine, “Renno” solo running a lot, fortifying keeps, towers, and camps. Always up for a 1v1 so if you see me, engage me please. I need more Mesmer experience though. It’s the only class I can’t kill reliably.

Anvil Rock has never had more than one map queue’d, EVER. When it is queue’d, it is only for maybe a minute at most.

We had 3 maps queued at this very reset. Our own BL had over 30 minute queue several times in the past few weeks. Let’s not exaggerate to make some fake point now.

Problem is we have very very few night players and get night capped nearly every day.

So you couldn’t get on three maps? I bounced around at reset, and only one map was queued for me, and got in after a minute. I was spreading siege every where.

Some how this doesn’t seem accurate to me, but if you say it happened, it happened. I’ll be on the lookout for it though.

“we’re just better than you.” Glad to see the tier 5 spanking hasn’t changed some of BP’s players poor attitudes. By the way, was the rematch against Yak’s Bend as epic as you guys thought? Oh lord, your players produce comedy gold!

Poor attitudes? You’re the ones accusing us of zerging when we barely had 2 maps queued on reset night. How many maps queued did you have again?

Also, we’ve had a tough last couple weeks. We lost a lot of major guilds (over 300-500 WvW players).

At least we’ve made it to tier 5, it’s good to see you guys made some progress.

Grats, you STILL have a larger population if you’ve got two maps queue’d at reset. God, I hope you win this match-up, truly I do. Watching you go into tier 5 and getting stomped will only make your trash talking more comical, and sweeter.
