Good morning. Right now GW2 is going through it’s shifting process that all MMOs go through at some point At least, that is my opinion on the situation. My guild is about a month old. Our core group of veteran players in online almost every night. We have become like a family with little inside jokes, general conversation in TS3 and the willingness to just go help each other. Hey! I’m not sure what server you are on. Escape From L A [EfLA] is my guild on Maguuma. We currently are researching Art of War V, and plan to start guild missions on March 15th or 16th. We are a fairly new guild with veteran players. Maguuma side is ready currently earning influence for Guild Trek unlocks. Yak’s Bend is now also running Guild Bounties. We are running weekly Guild Missions. Due to us being a split influence guild we will run guild missions on both Yak’s Bend and Maguuma (guesting dose get you guild comms). Merits are being earned on both servers with no issues.
We do not have a rep policy, we feel people need a reason to rep rather than it be a requirement. You will notice some players are active in other guilds at times, but when they run with us they rep us. I want this to be a fun and enjoyable experience for everyone.

Times people play are a wide range; few of us are on during the day (EST: GMT -4) Most of our players are online later in the evening/after work/dinner. I would say 6pm-3am EST.

Its not my job, nor the communities job to level your characters. If they do so, I would be very thankful and appreciate the generosity. A nicer way to do things is, play a level 80 for the dungeon, switch to a alt character at final boss who is lower level. That way the party is happy, your happy and its a win/win.

You ask people not be pushy or elitist, and then demand they be in full exotics? You’re the elitist here. A TON of people trying to do Arah are doing it to finish their story quest, and a ton of people doing dungeons are doing them TO get exotics.

Besides, Arah has been nerfed so hard that I just finished a run with 3 fresh 80s, 2 of which were full passive sigil warriors with no ranged weapon.

Your post is a little confusing. What it seems like you are saying is a few fresh 80s just completed story mode? Which yes, story mode has been time reduced on cinema and maybe bosses were nerfed. I’m pretty sure explorable has not really been nerfed at all.

Now, Obal is far from an “elitest”. Is he a leet player? Yes. Does he come across as an kitten or disrespect people? No. By the time people are 80 and getting to a point where they can run Arah, you should have some exotics form other dungeons.. or craft them.. or got them as drops. It’s not a terrible thing to ask people to have the highest tier of gear for final dungeon in the game.

The very first time I ran with Obal, I had only had bad experiences in there. I was quiet frankly scared to go pug it again. DungeonDaughter up there told me to talk to Obal about going to have a smooth run and get Arah done for my Dungeon Master title. I applaud Obal for how calm and patient he has been with every group I have been in with him. MMOs lack people willing to teach and have patience in general. For someone to post on his thread insulting him I think is rude and uncalled for. He doesn’t have to do this, and without people like him a lot of us would have to endure several long hours of pugs / rage quits / repair cost and general state of discontent.

Your members of different server can join through your guild missions through guest. Guild upgrades and influence are saved on the server you are. Example: If you maxed everything on jade sea server, and then transfer to piken square server, your guild in piken square server you will not have the same upgrades and influence than your guild in jade sea server.

I understand we can guest to other servers. We do it often. However, this speculation for Guild Bounties to be a part of WvW or not based on pre-requisite being Art of War V gives me concern. As well as does our current guild need to have all upgrades done on the two main servers we are on in order for everyone to access these guild missions?

Now, to my understanding thus far there is several guild missions available that will require different upgrades for each guild event to be ‘unlocked’. With that in mind, we are a newly formed guild and will not have everything done to V when this is released. However, I feel like I don’t want to waste time. So, I’m queing what I think is useful either way. I believe more notice could have been given about this. A lot of guilds have died out over the past month and/or reformed. Not everyone wants to be in a 400+ guild, nor do they want to transfer servers to be in a true ‘smaller guild’.
For us, we pve because there is really no point to WvW. (I’ll just hold that speech for another thread) We have found players that like to run dungeons, that like to teach eachother or help people get their dungeon master done. We do not run AC and CoF for gold..

At this point, it feels like more and more the game is being pushed for zerg guilds for WvW and HUGE guilds for PvE. What happened to 10-20 people playing together? Everyone knows each other and has a good time. From the forum post I have read, it does feel like the actual smaller guilds (20-50 members / 5-20 people online) will be bleed out and forced to join massive guilds to participate. Honestly, if that is the case I’m done. Hope this all turns out for the best and there is more than just Art of War V.. or all upgrades to V in order for people to participate.

I’m a ranger. I would really like to do path 4. I’ve spent over 15 hours in that path to no avail. A lot of times people don’t like to play with a ranger either so that’s another hurdle. There’s a bias that “it must be the ranger’s fault” when a group is failing that makes it really hard for me to have any respect for that path. It’s bugged and unfair and broken.

So far I have had several players contact me about this path. I appreciate everyone that has posted here. I wish everyone luck on working towards your Dungeon Master titles! If anyone has a question or comment feel free to message me in game or post here!

On the way to the boss, there is lava during some of the jumps. Maybe if you went down to res someone there or fell in.. that could be a reason. I have seen a lot of players miss that last jump on the bridge before the final boss flame shaman as well.

Also, I finished this achievement a long time ago. It maybe buggy now for some players?

In all honesty, an official response for kicking people in a group you guys are too sensitive. I understand this game is for teens and up. At some point during your gaming life, you will need to learn:
1. Not everyone is nice and wants to help you or be your friend.
2. You will not like everyone you meet. (Just like real life)
3. Learn from your experiences and move on, because you cannot change anyone but yourself.

Regardless of what the staff at Arena Net decides. Please start understanding that most companies would not even reply to threads like this. This is a great game, try to have fun and don’t take things people say or do on the internet so seriously.

What I did; told several people in my friends list about the thread, for them to let others know about it. Perhaps you can try letting others on the EU servers know. That might help you find more players that need this path as well.

Evening all! This afternoon I sent everyone that replied here an in-game mail that has NOT completed this path. I greatly appreciate people that have commented with being able to help and good tips! At this point, I would like to get a general idea of players that are willing to go on Feb 1st or 2nd and what time would be suitable for them. Thank you all you so much for offering your aid! Hopefully sometime this weekend I will have a better idea of players that need the path and can agree on a time. At that point I will see if anyone is willing to help based (if needed/short) on the agreed time the group decides on.

Path 4 has the most boring bosses in arah. Length is similiar and only simin is hard for new players, good teams should kill her in 10-15 minutes max (that’s including preparations of tears). Overall, path 4 is faceroll until you encounter simin which is still easy with people that use whatever they have between their ears.

DPS race boss is cake for guild groups or people that play together often, with any game. I am sure to some people that read this, you had zero issue with it and do not understand why this thread is here. Frankly, my guild has a weak pulse lol. I’m sure plenty of others are in the same boat. Those people that did not get this done and want to have a place to discuss it. People that have completed either 1. do not ever want to run it again. OR 2. They want to charge you for it.

I’ll find some people that want to pug it up the good old fashion way. If I get anywhere near 15g in repairs bills, I will still appreciate the fact that I did it.

Obal is the man. One of the most patient players you will ever meet in the game. I highly recommend for anyone that would like to see Arah without a horrible experience give him a shout.
