OK.. you guys really need to do something with the griefers… There are 3 guys standing on top of the cauldron spamming the banquet and you can’t get up there at all. If you get anywhere close they all just target you with their skill 1… get closer you get feared off the edge. This is ridiculous. I have no idea how to report them in game because none of the options apply! And we can’t name names here… Come on ANet.

So we’re all aware of the invisibility issues in WvW, but it would appear it also happens anywhere there are large numbers of people. Normally in a city I really don’t mind as you don’t interact much with other players, but it does affect the costume brawl.
While not game breaking, at least for me, it is truly a nuisance to constantly get beat on by stuff that isn’t even on my screen when I’m trying to get the achievements for custom brawling.
ANet, when are you going to fix this issue?
and after only 3 hits, u dont get the option to Mine it anymore, and the Rich node changes its appearance to destroyed/fully mines ?!
Sorry to ask the obvious, but with Rich nodes, u have to Mine it a few times.
I only farmed Copper sofar, so i can only refer to those nodes.
My experience is, when u choose Mine, u get 3 hit animations, and 3 salvages.
The Rich node can give 10 salvages, so u have to choose Mine 3 more times.
The 4th time is funny, cos after the first hit animation the Rich node gets (and should look) depleted but u still see 2 more hit animations.
Yes, I’m aware rich nodes require multiple interactions. The nodes in question destroy after the first attempt (3 mines).
So I’m wandering around in Bloodtide Coast and happened upon the Quaggan merchant in Sanguine Bay named Muirikroomk. Upon interacting with him to see his wares, I get a nice little message saying this content is temporarily disabled.
I found another post citing this merchant has been bugged and it was posted over 13 days ago (similar thread topic but not specific to this merchant).
Why on earth would a simple merchant be disabled (for 2 weeks now at least)? Is this a bug?
This is a 2 part suggestion. I apologize if it’s already been addressed. I did a search but I truly hate how results are returned from search so I’m not sifting through pages of replies.
1) Add a way to tell which maps you’ve completed when looking at the world map
2) Do not consider a map 100% complete unless all POIs, Vistas, Hearts AND ALL fog of war is lifted.
As it stands right now, you can receive a chest reward for completing a map, even if there is fog of war still covering areas of the map, yet the achievement for area completion requires the fog of war to be lifted. I spent 90 minutes one time trying to find an area of the map that was not opened. It wasn’t until I found a forum post with someone having this same issue regarding the same area of the map that had no POIs, Vistas, etc. It was merely covered by fog of war.
Outside of that it would be helpful to see map completion status without having to zone back into the area and pay waypoint costs. It can get very expensive zoning everywhere to simply try and find which maps aren’t complete.
I’ve seen some posts about rich veins not being rich in that they only get 3 mines before becoming unusable.
I noticed this yesterday with a rich platinum vein. I only got 3 hits off it. Something is wrong here!
Of course… if you have the coin to just purchase them, but T6 mats are ridiculously priced. At least more than I’ll fork over. At any rate, as I said it took me a couple of days, simply farming my T6s, so it looks like we’re no different here.
Ultimately it’s not 2 hours, as someone had mentioned above. Pshh.
Yeah you can’t even get enough T6 mats in 2 hours. What are you going on about?! The ectos are quite easy to get (for some coin or after farming a bit of mats while just playing the game). Craft a bunch of yellow 80 equipment/gear, salvage for ectos.
I just crafted a full set of exotic armor and 2 weapons and it took me 2-3 days (3-4 hours a day) of farming just the armored scales that I needed for the set I wanted (Knight’s).
2 days…? I want to know your secret.
How exactly do you test this?
The Hero panel should reflect all stats, otherwise it’s pointless. Oddly enough, my crit is about 54% without boons and sometimes it feels I have near 100% crit. (Wish I had that kind of luck with MF.. I’m sitting at 180-200 and rarely get anything of significance).
It’s supposed to increase your overall crit chance (regardless of weapon).
To be honest I find this sigil bugged. I carry two as well, however I notice that if I unequip all weapons and measure the increase of crit chance I get when adding each, I don’t get anywhere near what I’m supposed to.
for example, my dual axes give +64 precision and supposedly +5% crit chance with the sigil. When I equip one axe, I only get 3% crit chance added. When I add the second axe I only get another 3% total. I am watching my Hero tab to monitor the percentage change.
I should be getting +10% from the sigils and a small increase in the 128 precision that I gain, yet I only get a total of +6%. Bugged I tell ya.
So…does anybody knows a good place with lots of critters around >.<?
There was a personal story quest for my Norn (Vigil Order) whereby I had to wander through a sewer system. There was a never ending train of rats coming towards me. I sat there for a good 30 minutes racking up the achievement for critter kills.
Sorry I don’t know the name of it.
From what I understand, even areas in Orr are plagued by lack of people. They’re all farming karma with the zerg in Straits of Devastation. I was running around Malachor (sp?) and Cursed shore yesterday and rarely saw anyone. Couldn’t do any events because of it.
I’m running around trying to get map completion and I rarely see anyone in any of the lower zones as well. They’re usually all in zones that have dragons.
This definitely needs fixed. Everywhere I go feels like an instance that I am soloing anymore.
I agree this should be shown, however I wouldn’t take that as a guarantee that it’s working. I have found countless issues with other stats not even adding up correctly. Just saying.
Add option for always-on object labels; e.g., resource nodes

So it has always bugged me that I have to constantly hold down CTRL to show gathering resource nodes or items relevant to quests, yet the game provides a means to always show friendlies and enemies.
I employ the use of a program called AutoHotKey to essentially always hold a key down for me (it hurts my pinky to do so) so I have been getting by on that.
Before anyone chimes in regarding AHK.. no.. I do not use this application for anything else, though I’m well aware some botters may
Edit: I guess I had a temporary issue as AHK worked for me today.
At any rate, if ANet chooses to ignore this application in order to curb botters in the future, I’m completely fine with that. I just hope they add this very much needed option or provide reasoning as to why it may have been left out to begin with.them blocking this app to curb the botting, however it killed a functional purpose that should have been considered from the outset of game development.
So I emplore ANet… Please provide a means to always enable the labels on resource nodes and objects laying on the map. PLEASE!!

Provide a means on the world map to denote maps completed.

Unless I am missing something, it’s impossible to tell if you’ve completed any given map unless you actually travel there first.
It would be nice to provide some sort of identifier when viewing the world map to show which maps you’ve actually completed. A simple coloring of the zone name or something!
I use sigils to stack varying buffs (max 25), but I noticed that if I travel to a waypoint, I lose all of the accrued points. This is so not cool!
FYI, if you dual wield and have the same stacking sigil on each weapon, your stacks will just accrue at 2 times the pace (both sigils apply). I use this to my advantage with dual axes.
Yeah this is somewhat silly. They give you the option to dual wield and those weapons have upgrade slots. They should let each of those weapons sigils take effect. They do when they are the same sigil, though with slightly different behavior.
Two weapons with the same trait stacking sigil causes the stacks to occur faster (one for each sigil).
If they keep it this way, they should add a disclaimer to the tool tip.
Wow. That’s absolute garbage. It was my understanding this was a public forum and we are be able to discuss what we want, as long as we remain civil replies are kept on topic. So now we’re not allowed to create topics we WANT to discuss? That’s going too far.
So I made my way into a level 50-60 zone last night, and my experience was the complete opposite of my original post. I seemingly just steamroll through most if not all opponents.
This cements my theory that some mobs are simply not scaled appropriately. It makes zero sense that I can take on 8-10 level 80 mobs and not lose near half my health, but get decimated/killed by two level 75 fire grubs (all the while using very strategic fighting, not just standing still).
I believe a major contributing factor to the poor economy is the fact that most people are selling items at an unrealized loss.
I suggest making both the sales fee and the sale tax visible during the listing process, including the total combined in a quick readable number.
People would make smarter trades if they knew exactly how much money they were losing on an item.
i am very disapointed with Arenanet and crafting in Guild Wars 2
in Crafting
Posted by: Fatal OEfx.5910
Crafting is actually fairly easy. I leveled both weapon and armor smithing to 400 before I was 70 and I spent no more than 10 hours doing so in total. There’s a simple way to level these. It’s all about discovering the highest level items you can at the time.
From a leveling perspective, you do not want to actually “craft” a bunch of items, unless it is all you can do. The merchants next to the smithing station sells karma recipes. By one recipe for a particular type (Carrion as bones are cheapest I believe), and then discover each component in that tier (axe, hammer, sword, etc) or (helmet, chest, gloves, etc). Note, I crafted my armor to 400 without doing a single orichalcum item and done in less than 5 hours.
To effectively level there will be financial cost involved but at a minimal loss, at least there wasn’t at the time I did it. Unfortunately relying strictly on farming mats will take you forever. I spent no more than 4g at a time during my crafting sessions but recouped most of my cost by selling the items on the trader.
Of course as stated this was earlier (2-3 weeks into the game) when I did it. Mats have gone up a bit in cost, but the same principle should apply. If you can’t sell the items, you always have the option of salvaging for ectos (if they are 68+ rare items).
I find this occurs for me quite frequently. I usually notice it when I’m fighting enemies that cloak (skelks), or breeze riders. I’m a warrior swinging axes, and sometimes it’s as if I’m hitting air.
Yeah I dunno. I don’t go in with ego, and I watch my health like a hawk. I just think the downleveling has a buggy algorithm or something.
One point to consider… I’ve fought some of the mobs on my way to 80 and I recall them being easier when I was a lower level!
Not sure why that would be directed to me. I in no way said anything about programmers. Forum mods and in-game GMs shares a similar skill set and could quite easily be handled by the same people.
Thanks for your snide comment anyway.
Perhaps I’m wrong here, but it truly seems there is far more emphasis on forum moderation than there is in actual game. I rarely ever see a GM in game, yet if you post something off topic in a particular forum topic, it’ll be deleted in less than 15 minutes. Crazy.
ANet, I’m sure the game benefit with a little shifting of attention away from the forums and into the game. Just sayin!
I think that the enemies in those low level zones are just harder than the ones in the 80 zones. This doesn’t apply to all low level zones. After playing in the Norn starting areas I found that Human players have it really easy.
I play a Norn, and I 100% agree. I’m totally okay with a challenge, but man! I went to the second area of each race and the Norn one was far more difficult. Those mobs sure know how to beat your butt, no matter your stats, weapon, armor, etc. I have gotten pretty close to dying before, but I’m only at level 30 so I don’t have the best armor or weapons yet.
EXACTLY! I’m a Norn as well. Maybe that’s a common link?
For the above regarding multiple veteran mobs… I can do this too. I even take on champions myself as well, but only certain types. I even solo champion spiders/trolls with rarely losing half my life (circle strafe FTW), though it may take me 30-45 minutes.
But in other cases it’s ridiculous. Just last night I ran into a couple level 60-70 fire grubs and they decimated me in mere seconds. I don’t even know what happened. I tried to hit them with 100 swords and literally less than 5% of their life was affected. It was like they were vet/champion level mobs, though they were not labeled as such.
In Orr, I can take a lvl 80 Breeze Rider as well as all 5-7 lower Breeze Riders on at a single time. I intentionally aggro them all around me to whirlwind axe/GS 100 sword them to death with nary a scratch on me. That should not be possible.
For what it’s worth I’ve seen many cases where the extended buffs I get from my high end armor/weapons are simply ignored due to the downleveling. I once took my lvl 65 gear off and replaced with lvl 80 and consciously watched the stats as I swapped them in a downleveled area. I swear in some cases I only got like a +20 increase in my traits/stats, whereas I should have gotten hundreds. It truly feels as if we’re all wasting our money buying high end gear just to end up in a low level area as simply using low level armor to match the mobs would be better (and cheaper!).
Story I understand. These are just rare drops, that could effectively generate nice revenue on the trader, yet I’m relinquished to just selling it to merchant. Not cool ANet!
Hmm, I think not… the interrupt CD is so players don’t spam/cancel their skills, which some have obvious animations and would cause… some terrible spamming.
You gotta choose between casting your heal, or dodging. If you used your heal at the wrong time, it’s your fault.
Also, all spells I tested that aren’t instant are cancelled when you dodge. The signets you mention must not have a cast time, or have a really fast cast time and by the time your character starts dodging, the spell is already off.But really, casting WHILE dodging would be really weird…
Given how hectic this game is at times, it’s really difficult to do something at “the wrong time”. Of course there’s a level of inopportunity, but say for instance you’re kiting and/or running away and cast your heal, then out of nowhere some stationary fireball turret felt the need to fire in your direction, yet I see the projectile before it hits me, I should be able to then dodge. That is a smart dodge. It’s not my fault the heal took too long.
And I’ll have to test it, but I’m sure my elite signet has a small cast time yet the cast animation occurs during the entire dodge sequence.
While the questions are well deserved, as I did not make it clear in my original post, let me just say, I’m not an idiot.
All of my gear has been maintained at top level. I have level 80 rare gear and level 80 exotic weapons. I’m somewhat of a stat-kitten (HAH I beat you auto-censor.. I kittened myself!)
As I’ve stated before, sometimes the issue only occurs for certain enemy types. In some cases it feels easier than normal, but I never see it as “too easy” unless I’m 1 on 1 with a certain mob. But even in that case, it’s never a 2 shot scenario. At the very least I’ve gotten kills on level 60 mobs with 5 or more hits. That being with GS skill 1 (to the 3rd chain), and then skill 2 (100 blades to completion). Note: I even have 70% crit with fairly high power.
I dunno.. things are odd. Perhaps it’s a class discrepancy? What are others running to see the complete opposite to my findings?
To be fair… even with high end gear, I my build leans towards glass cannon, but even with that, I should not be seeing what I’m seeing in low level areas.

I’ve gotten two rare accessories (<70 level) today and both of them were automatically soulbound. Is this a bug?
I agree, this needs fixed! Some parts of the game UI scales appropriately but some do not, as indicated by the picture regarding the TB. It is so frustrating that I cannot use the small interface.
Moreover, why don’t we have ability to customize our interface like we did in GW1??!?!
I’m a warrior and I find it extremely frustrating that dodging cancels out my heal skill, specifically Mending.
I don’t understand why it would do this. I do not have this problem with other skills, e.g. applying signets. I can dodge through those animations without issue. I don’t know how many times I’ve died just trying to apply my heal but for it to completely cancel out as I dodged away from the enemy.
Take for instance the double post of "ANet.. please fix this. " in my above post. I only have that typed once. No matter how much I edit it, it won’t go away. Unless I remove the one instance of that phrase, both remain.
Thank god I’m not the only one that has had issues subscribing. Everytime I hit subscribe, it just takes me down to the post reply box.
ANet.. please fix this.
ANet.. please fix this.Overall I truly do not like this forum system compared to many other game providers. They are simply not very friendly. There aren’t even time stamps for last replies on threads. This should be like forum-101.
“who” + “space” + “resurrect” = kittensurrect.
I guess it does not like the combination of “who” “re”. LOL
So, I’m well aware of and support the idea behind automatic down leveling. You definitely do not want to be able to take a top level character into low level zones and totally dominate.
For me, though, I find that whenever I go to lower level areas, it is far more difficult for me than the level 80 areas. This seems ridiculous.
I can hold my own in the level 80 areas with very little difficulty, even taking on multiple mobs. Like 3-5 at a time.
When I go to lower level areas, I find at times I am easily killed by 2 mobs, if not one. In other lower level areas, it’s not so bad.
This seems very out of balance for me as well as inconsistent. It seems like the downlevling is not really taking into account all of the buffs/stats I have on my weapons/armor or something or certain enemies just hit me as if I don’t have armor at all. Something isn’t right.
Am I the only one that notices this?
Are we sure about the recipe’s in the OP? I saw on the wiki that the recipe is 2 mystery tonics, and 2 other items (e.g. butter), all in a 1-1-1-1 format for MF to get the tonic of choice. This recipe was even validated by my roommate.
That’s odd. If I were you I’d fill out a support request. Won’t get much of an answer here on the forums.
I’ve seen mention (gw2db.com) that destroyer lodestones drop from Destroyers in Mount Maelstrom, though I’ve never seen any myself.
OH, I forgot… regarding contribution levels… are you guys even sure this works as you think it does? I think there may be a simple misconception for how the medals are awarded for given events.
I believe there are multiple factors involved for contribution level and one of them is simply duration of being at the event site. Otherwise I can’t explain the gold I get in some events I did not even know were going on!
Wow I had no idea this post got so much attention… I cannot get the “subscribe” functionality to work so I never know when replies come in. Anyway…
Regarding the ability to farm for rez… Is it truly a concern? No one farms it for the XP that you currently get. The same should/could apply to whatever reward given. I like the idea of a small karma boost, as this is karma related. Perhaps a MF buff.. something. A title is pointless, as once the title is obtained, it’s no longer worth continuing to rez.
Speaking of abuse… So this can be abused by committing suicide-by-mob yet the act of rezzing itself is considered suicide-by-mob? LOL Contradiction much?
At any rate, it’s very simple to not die during an attempted rez. I do it all the time. Only a fool would continue to rez while being attacked unless they are sure they can handle the beating. If necessary, simply break from rez, fight off the enemy or run off until aggro is lost, then return. The life you provided on previous attempts remain and does not restart from 0. And seriously.. I’m not asking someone to challenge a Champion for the simple sake of reviving someone. That’s ridiculous. Only rez when you feel it’s safe. I’ve walked away from a rez myself if the situation became dire… at least I tried.

Personally, I find myself going completely out of my way to resurrect the fallen. Both NPCs and other players.
Far too often am I left to die a miserable death while people just walk over me. It’s not fair.
I feel there should be a system in place that rewards those who help others. I had someone literally tell me “time is money” when they ran by and I asked to be rez’d. You do not know how mad I was.
Outside of the QQ factor… many PvE fights are lost simply because no one focuses resurrection. More people hitting a target = they die faster, yet for some reason during group events, there are countless dead bodies on the ground. It’s ridiculous.
I always find it near impossible to destroy stationary destructible objects with my warrior. It’s absolutely irritating. Most of the time I have to wait for someone else to come by to destroy it.
I have found that constantly staying on the move while attacking makes my hits actually hit more often but it’s still hit or miss.
It makes my skills that have multiple strikes (whirlwind axe for example) completely useless against these objects. Also, the fact that these objects do not register critical damage is even more so infuriating.
I leveled to 80 without any MF gear. I finally decided to get a full MF set, including armor, weapons, accessories, and food. I have like 140% MF and I’ve been running/farming around Orr with it for a few days.
I must say, I’m highly discouraged by the results. I really haven’t seen any difference in the rarity of items I get. I went in expecting a lot more yellow drops. I think I’ve seen 2 in the last 2 days. Not a single exotic.
I personally feel MF is bugged or something.
2+ gold to go from bronze to midway iron in weaponsmithing?! It is clear you have not identified how to properly maximize your leveling experience.
I went from 300 weapon and 100 armor to 400 in both with less than 4 gold investment (though with a couple thousand karma).
The key to leveling your craft is not actually CRAFTING anything. It’s all about discovery.
For each tier you are in, buy ONE recipe from that level from the smith merchant (this is where karma comes into play). You only need one recipe so make it worth it (either you get use from the stats or you can sell it). You always want to work with the MAX level recipe you can work with.
Then make the highest level inscription you can using this recipe and DISCOVER each weapon/armor type using said inscription. Your crafting will level at ridiculous rates.
The only time you should ever craft anything in weapon/armorsmithing is the ingots, plated dowels, and bolts of whatever mats you’re dealing with, and doing so is generally without XP gain intentions. That is, do not craft these mats to gain XP unless it is the ONLY option available to you until you can get the next level.
That wiki article changed within the last 18 hours as last night around 2AM EST, I was researching that and the wiki said 70+ (not 68). I wouldn’t take the Wiki as a definitive authority as it is editable by anyone.
I realize people are actually getting ectos from 68 level items. My point is simply to not rely solely on what the wiki says at any given moment.
I like! I would also like to see use-timers on the stationary turrets, cannons, etc that people farming these areas never seem to leave. I never get a chance to partake in most of these types of things in game because I refuse to sit in an area for hours to get a good place before the event starts.
It doesn’t really get any better. Especially with the mega cool events, like the dragons. This is one reason I don’t like dynamic events. There is no skill involved with these events. It’s like you said.. simple button mashing and hope that you’re contributing.
Most of the time I have no idea what I’m even attacking. The enemy is just hidden. I just fire at the mob.
