- If so, how many people do you think were nearby?
- What professions were they? (if you know)
- Were you all idling in town, or in combat (or were you using specific skills).
- When you crashed, did you see a crash report window or a small dialog box with a Code=(NUMBERS), or did you hard lock and not get any messages at all (and were sent straight to desktop)?
- Were you playing in full screen or windowed?
- What operating system are you using?
- Are you using the 64 or 32 bit client? (We know some folks override to the old sometimes)
Thanks!
1. Probably not, I was in WvW (EB), we are still waiting for ascended…
2. following a comm with 40 on tag, maybe a couple of enemies nearby but lets say 45 max
3. Mostly GREN. A couple of mesmers for veils/portals too.
4. just out of combat, running to a tower
5. got a crash report box.
6. borderless.

I forgot how delicious gankdara tears are. Thank you
Okay,
Call it what you want “Night capping” is a real thing and is an issue. I will now explain why the argument “all time zones should be treated equally” is wrong.
THERE ARE 3 SERVERS IN A MATCHUP.
That is the #1 reason why nightcapping is a real issue.
Let’s take a highly exaggerated matchup for clarity on the issue.
Server 1, 2 are equally populated with 500 players each, they are equally skilled and get matched up against server 3.
Server 3 has only 20 players, who are completly brain dead but know how to break down a gate. They play in a completely different time zone.
S1 & 2 have 100% of their population online for 12 hours of the day.
S3 has their 20 people online for the other 12 hours of the day.
(again, highly exaggerated)
For the first 12 hours, S1/2 are neck and neck with 50% of the score each.
S3 have 0 points.
Then S1/2 shake hands, go to bed and get some well deserved sleep after all the bloodshed and ppt done.
They wake up the next day ready for more action and find that S3, with their 20 brain dead players have capped the entire maps and sit with twice as many points than either S1 or S2.
This again is a highly exaggerated example of what the current system allows for, but this is sort of what goes on currently. A server who is out matched and out classed in every way by 2 other servers can still have a runaway score by just recruiting a few people to cap everything whilst the other servers sleep.
In the example I gave, you have 1000 people who’s contribution to the matchup score was completely decimated by 20 skill less PvE players. In reality it would be more than 20 and they would be pretty good at what they do, but they STILL can undo the work of many many more people by simply “playing out of hours”
Their contribution should not be ignored OBVIOUSLY, but they should not be able to swing a matchup so severely.
And I’m saying this as a T1 player who relies on our night crew to keep us afloat whilst we ignore PPT at prime so I can fight!
Name plates are already too big…. This could be the right time to fix that as well.
I’d suggest remove server name and have colour instead. Blue/Red/green rank
Below have a toggleable white server plate.
Below that have toggleable light grey title plate.
Job done
The new squad icons have a major bug which could potentially kill a server…
When the tags are put on an enemy player/commander they are visible on the map even when they swap map, stealth or die. This allows you to tactically track their movement and either use the information to avoid them and capture everything, or track down and kill them without any problems.
This could kill a server who does not know about this exploit as they cannot compete.
This needs a hotfix now, or just disable squad icons in WvW
I only WvW so I can only comment on the changes effect on that game mode.
Enhanced Squad UI
Very good changes for the most part. There is the issue with the icons not getting cleared on stealth or death, but that’s already been identified by yourselves.
Gliding in Central Tyria
Don’t care… would be nice to be able to glide in WvW but I don’t care that much.
Lunar New Year
Can’t use fireworks in WvW?! that sucks…
Eldvin Monastery Brew of the Month Club
Cool I guess but pretty much an exact copy of the World of Warcraft thing.

World Polish
Doesn’t effect me.

Profession Skills
General
Reviving and stomping not being effected by Quickness and Slow is great!
Quickness and Slow not effecting defensive abilities is bad… Already the emphasis is too heavily on damage and not mitigation. This needs to stop. Fights don’t need to be over in 5s.
Elementalist
Diamond Skin: I don’t use the earth line, but this is a very weak skill now. in WvW you won’t be able to remove anywere near enough condis to warrant taking this skill.
Churning Earth: Big buff, the damage was great when combined with lightning flash, now the cast is short enough that we don’t need the LF to ensure a hit.
Auras: needed nerf and as someone who dislikes auras I’m fine with it.
Fresh Air: Good change but still not enough to warrant taking over Lightning rod or bolt to the heart.
Guardian
Smite condition: good change but not enough. too many condis in the game.
Sanctuary: Great change, but not enough to replace stand your ground, purging flames, wall of reflection or Test of Faith.
Dragonhunter
Wings of Resolve: Amazing change to have it no longer effected by movement effects. means we can use it as an escape as well as an engage much easier.
Traps: needed nerf and not too far either. gg.
Mesmer/Chrono
Far too big a change in one go.
You gutted the class and didn’t account for the overall effect.
The feedback change is good though.
Necro
Are you INSANE?!?!?!
Corrupt boon on 10s CD (with traits)
Basically in WvW we cannot cleanse the condis and reapply boons fast enough. Necro just needs to spam on the zerg and deal insane condi damage. The poison is not a major issue as 1,200 range means they can stand with the eles and revs for healing.
The other boon -> condi changes are uber powerful in sPvP but not as big a deal in WvW zerg play.
In general Necro got a stupid large buff when they were already pretty solid.
Revenant
CoR: needed nerf but not big enough. It still hits like a freight train.
The .5s thing is nonsense though. I’d understand if just affected one rev, but affecting other revs means that a bad build rev will hit first for piddly damage and stop the zerker rev CoR from hitting… that’s bad design (even if I’m glad it nerfs stacking revs)
Facet of Light: Good change. it was too much of an oh kitten skill. now it requires more skill.
Structured Player vs. Player

Automatic Upgrade Update
Amazing, but the numbers are wrong. It takes far too long to upgrade towers, keeps and camps. SM is about right though.
Should be scaled based on objective value and number of Doly routes imho.
PPK
Amazing, but 1 point is not quite enough. 2-3 would be better imho. If the population in WvW was at it’s peak (before the stab changes last year) then 1 point would be enough. But the new borderlands and population drop means fights are rarer and smaller. 1 point is not enough.
Reduced Rally Cap
Really enjoying this change. fights seem to last longer and one team doesn’t just steam roller now. Plus people are ressing far more than just focussing on killing downed enemies. Feels much much better.
Combat revive
Good change, though it would be nice if banner (and the like) worked on dead dead. The CDs are long enough that it wouldn’t affect the outcome of a fight much, but would help with the long cast times and the speed people go from downed to dead.
General
Cata costs reduction is good, but I still think Guild Cata should be cheaper still.
Not needing badges for superior siege is great!
animated capture effect.. I though already existed but maybe it was only in EoTM before?
Announcement on captures… I wish i could just turn them off completely…
Fixing of bugs with wall is obviously good.
Desert BL
Honestly, whilst the changes are good.. the BL is still horrible. I would love the old BLs to return.
The Oasis event changes are fine, but there still seems to be lag (but not as much)
EB
floating raptor gone?! NOOOO
Guild Claiming
Banner changes are good. not seen as much of them since the patch (though the fact that upgrading a capture to T2-3 takes forever might effect that…)
Airship Defence: Still too short a CD for something which makes SM unapealling to attack for 3 minutes… It should be 3m and a 30m CD imho.
Banners
All the nerfs are good. maybe not enough but we will see when they start apearing on the battlefield again (see above for reason).
Guilds
I don’t care about the decoration stuff….
World Boses
Meh…
(edited by Fizzee.1762)
Yup, but won’t happen. Devs don’t care what its forum goers think.
If you want to get rid of BLs you have to convince everyone to stay off them regardless of EB queue.
That won’t happen and so their metrics still show people play on them. The metrics don’t indicate if people playing on the bls are having more or less fun.
If they announce a return of the old BLs, big nerf of banners, return of Friday reset and stab change reversal I’ll celebrate so hard my liver will never recover.
Don’t worry guys, this is basically the same excuse we were given 3 years ago when we asked for raid frames.
Fortunately, when PvE or sPvP needs something we get it too.. All you need to do it find a reason that this should be implemented and post it on the raid or sPvP forum and you’ll get it implemented in weeks.
This is not a bug… It’s a stupid design decision.
They decided that, like on EB, only the home keeps should be accessible by WP.
The WPs were in the spawn towers which was also a stupid design decision…
Honestly, I don’t know who is in charge of WvW decisions, or what direction they are attempting to force us into going, but no one likes them but QQ all you like, Anet doesn’t give a flying Kitten about it’s players as long as the Gems keep getting sold.
People DID give feedback. Unfortunately Ante doesn’t listen to any feedback which goes against their vision for the game…. Ever!
I played back in Alpha, a year before the game launched and feedback was given about pretty much everything which has been since launch.
This includes rallying and combat rezzing we are just about to see addressed… THIS WAS 4 YEARS AGO!!
You want to know the 1 change I recommended which made it into launch?
That little auto play tick box on the launcher…
One tickbox… Out of EVERY kitten SUGGESTION AND FEEDBACK.
I have guildees who refused to buy the game at launch because of Anet’s refusal to listen to feedback.
My guild died 8 months after launch because they made changes we all said were bad.
This trend has continued for 4 years. This upcoming sneak peak patch is the first time in 4 years I’ve seen Anet implement changes WE suggested.
Really sad state of affairs. Unfortunately there is no other wvw style game which has interested me.
Here’s 3 years of WvW improvements in one screenshot..
Keep lord stuck outside the outer (south)… Yay free loot for them without having to get in.
It was worse for us. We couldn’t cap the keep as the lord was outside.
We either had to leave to kill lord and have him get rezzed when we tried to get in, or have to break the gate/wall from inside to kite the lord back in…
Completely kittened.
I doubt it’s min maxed as well as someone will do it, but it’s working very well for me so far.
Essentially, you want to be constantly thinking “am I on the offensive of the defensive”
you can be taking a lot of damage but still winning the fight, and you can be taking no damage but you group is loosing the fight.
If you are winning, you will be in Hammer and glint. You want to keep Elements and Strength Facets up at all times prior to a fight. This provides best Might stacks and swiftness for keeping up with comm.
On engage, you want to turn on Darkness and drop Elements on the melee leap.
This gives best crit chance as well as good AoE condi.
During normal fight, you will be rotating your hammer skills aiming to hit through as many people as possible. Remember Hammer#4 is a dark field, so stand in front of your ranged mates to give them lifesteal (works for hammer #1 too)!
If your ranged starts taking a little bit of damage, pop your heal facet (don’t double click yet) and it will provide a small amount of healing, but your energy will deplete as you have no regen. you might want to drop your other two facets briefly to regen some enegry.
If you get spiked by the enemy focus party you want to hit your heal button twice FAST as this will give you 3s of invuln and major healing. you also want to pop your Gaze of Darkness (the activate after facet). this pulls the mesmers and theifs out of stealth for 5s so your own focus party can kill them.
If the fight starts going badly, but still winnable you want to push your nature, then your elite, then your nature again. this gives a HUGE toughness, swiftness and regen boost, if you need to run, pop elite again for a knockback and gain superspeed.
When you need to tank a bit of damage, througha choke for example, pop Jalis. You can lay down stab, elite for 50% reduced damage from all sources and a heal with retal!
You can dodge for 2 stacks of stab and 5-6s of retal too!
honestly, I rarely use my staff. when I do, it’s for the extra dodge (the sigil of energy ), the heal from #4 and the knockback of #5.
There is a lot to think about as a backline DPS herald, but it’s very strong with great utility. I can easily see it being used in meta, 1 per every ranged party.
Since launch of core, I experienced maybe 1-2 hackers in WvW over 3 years. Both of them were obvious fly hackers with the orb.
Since launch of HoT I have experienced invisible theif and D/D eles (I assume) at least 5 times in WvW.
Today there is one running havoc on EB near Jade Sea corner and in SM.
The hacker cannot be seen, targeted and does not show in the combat logs.
There is no way to report this player at all.
If it helps to find them, I first noticed them near Klovan at 11:32, and the followed us (and me) to SW gate of SM where they followed inside and continued to kill people.
Please at least please find a way to ensure it end up in combat log and that we can report from it. Otherwise it’s impossible to report.
I’m currently having good success as a back line DPS.
Full zerker with PVT trinkets, hammer for dps and staff for heal and escape (staff 5 for a short dart away)
Use glint and jalis. Glint for mobility, amazing oh kitten heal, and buffs, jalis for stab and defense.
Think of yourself as a heavy dps who protects and buff a the eles and necros.
I’ll try put together a decent build and guide tomorrow.
It’s an end game map. There are four of them. If everyone could just run through them and get anything, in a week people would be saying they had nothing to do.
.
They are not End Game maps, they are levelling maps…
If they were end game maps you would have completed your characters skill tree before entering…
Can you imagine if WoW left its Max level skills as unlocks for clearing the endgame raids?!
If we had our especs before entering maguuma I’d agree they are endgame and I’d not be so frustrated.
Nice strawman…
People expected to be able to play the expac in the way they are used to playing GW2.
For some people that is advancing through the story quests.
For others it’s doing events.
Others it’s dungeons.
For me it’s WvW.
I don’t see anyone asking for instant masteries, in fact most people like them (although possibly a little too much xp required)
I certainly have not seen anyone wanting instant end cut scene… that’s kittened.
What people DO complain about is:
- Story is artificially slowed down behind mastery meaning people who just want story are unable to continue without doing stuff they don’t enjoy.
- Elite specs are heavily gated by masteries and group content, which means people who want to play their new classes can’t for possibly months (depending on method to aquire, number of characters and time to play each day).
- XP rate is possibly a little low, people are having to repeat events over and over to be able to progress. You shouldn’t have to “grind”.
For me, the only complaint is the Elite spec one.
As a WvW player, Builds including elite specs are kinda important. WvW is after all a competative gametype. Not being able to run druid for example is pretty major in a group composition. This is why PvP doesn’t get affected by levelling etc.
The situation I am found in is that I am probably going to be unable to kick back and have fun with my server and guild in a GvG and WvW environment for a very long time. Unless I go PvE like mad… which I have been doing and it’s pushed me almost to the verge of quitting the game, getting refund and buying FO4 instead… that can’t be an ideal opinion for ANet’s bank balance….
100% agree with the OP.
Even if they reduced the cost to 60HP so it’s on par with the rest of the trait lines it would be okay.
My issue is that I play WvW, pretty much exclusively these days, though I occasionally dabble in JPs and that sort of thing.
I feel like I’m being forced to go into these new maps, which are a maze with no clear indication of where to go for the next quest, to get masteries (I have 1 level after 5 hours in the jungle! and most of that was spent getting lost and falling to my death)
I have to get masteries, because otherwise I cannot play my new Revanant in WvW effectively… I cannot just do it in WvW, because the levelling rate is so slow (4HP per wvw rank PER CHARACTER), it took me 4 months to get 500 levels across all my characters…
If we had elite specs in MUCH less time, without a requirement for PvE if you don’t like that sort of thing, people’s complaints would massively drop.
The people complaining about the grind in PvE are doing so because they feel forced to be in a gametype they don’t particularly like.
Elite Specializations & Hero Point Feedback [Merged]
in Guild Wars 2: Heart of Thorns
Posted by: Fizzee.1762
I’m going to weigh in, though pretty much everything has been said in one regard or another.
1st, I’m a WvW player with 3 80’s of which 1 is a tome levelled Rev
2nd, only my oldest character has map completion.
Here’s how I feel this expac has impacted me.
I now feel like I have to try and unlock my elite on my Ele first (as tempest is going to be meta… you watch ) I cannot play my guardian, as HP are character specific and I can’t play Revanant as it will take far too long to unlock the elite.
to give people some idea of why having specs locked behind such a time gate, is that WvW is a competative environment. If you want to be able to compete, you really need to be conforming to the emerging meta, which in many cases requires elite specs.
In WvW you get 2-4 HP per wvw rank, each rank takes about 15-30 mins if you are farming EoTM or EB (forget the new maps… the levelling takes too long)
What this means is that at ABSOLUTE best case, I could not enjoy WvW the correct way, on the new maps for about 24 hours of play time for a new character. in reality, it would be closer to 50.
this is PER CHARACTER!!
As my wife is currently 38 weeks pregnant, my play time is about to vanish, maybe an hour a day… whilst this sounds like an isolated issue, Many people in my guild only log on for 7-8 hours a week, due to real life, work etc.
What this essentially means is that I cannot expect to play WvW with my guild and friends in the way it’s supposed to be played for at least a month… and even then it’s with only 1 character, not the 3 I had hoped.
Why would you make basically a class unplayable from the offset?! it’s baffling.
I suggest making the cost 60HP not 400, and make tomes grant HP too!!
Here’s what the Heart of Thorns release will look like for WvW:
3. WvW’s reset time will be changed to be 24 hours later in NA and EU. It will now occur on Saturdays instead of Fridays.
…. WUT???
I despair.
Just when I thought they might be starting to learn that the EU exists… they somehow forget again…
Splitting the match into time periods is one of the suggestions floating about. I don’t think I’ve ever seen a period as short as 3 hours though.
A few questions for proponents of time period matches:
1. What is the proper length of a time period?
- We’ve seen periods of 8 hours down to now periods of 3 hours. Why did you pick 3 hours op?
2. How to score the victories?
- 3-2-1? 2-1-0? 3-0-0? Why did you pick 2-1-0 op?
Regarding the 1 minute tick intervals – why is this advantageous over 15 min intervals? Didn’t it used to be shorter (like 5 min.) but Anet changed it to give less advantage to the strongest server?
I’ve never seen the score broken out to results like in your imgur pic. But you say you just made up the numbers right? I wonder how it would be in reality? Because the numbers you came up with don’t really seem like it makes the match any better. Its still a huge mismatch. I mean Vabbi is getting blanked. I wonder how that would affect server morale?
I find your 1U 1D or 2U 2D very interesting. I don’t think I’ve heard that before. I wonder if it would work better than simple 1U1D? Or just provide more variety. I’m on NA and I’m not sure if 2U2D would work at all. BG/YB/SoS comes to mind
Thanks for the feedback and questions.
1. 3 hours was chosen primarily because it is the split on http://coveragewars2.com/ to be honest, but it does make sense as its long enough that it’s not intrusive, but short enough that you can experience at least the end of one period with a victory/failure state in a normal play period.
4 hours could work fine too, but the fewer periods in a day, the more a “nightcap” can impact a score.
2. The score 2-1-0 is just the lowest scoring to allow 1st,2nd,3rd all get different points and also not allow servers to run away with the score.
3. The tick change is primarily to counter the whole “for the tick” attitude which is a problem at the moment. capping an objective should ALWAYS reward points equally. currently capping an objective between 15 and 5mins untill end of tick is worth potentially 0 points as the enemy can cap back before the tick… but sub 4mins is a guaranteed score due to righteous indignation.
4. Vabbi IS getting rolled in reality, by 109k points… the difference is that this is not recoverable unless Vabbi somehow gets a huge PPT lead and holds it. The points system means the Vabbi would only have to win or come second for a majority of the next days score periods, but they don’t have to get 600PPT… only more than the others, that could be as little as 201ppt if the other servers get 200ppt and 199ppt. This is far more manageable than the current system.
5. The matchmaking idea is mainly to provide the benefit of 1U/1D (whereby winning servers get to face harder opponents and loosing servers face easier ones.)
but also adds an element of random which makes the server in position 2 uncomfortable enough that they should want to fight to the end instead of just secure second place. And 3rd place fights till the last to come second as they MIGHT go up.
I don’t think there are perfect solutions to the issues in WvW scoring/Matchmaking, but I hope that these ideas are possibly the best ones when taking into consideration different timezones, complexity to change, server morale, server populations and most importantly, FUN.
Hi,
I’ve been spending quite a few hours over the last couple of days coming up with a scoring and matchmaking system which I believe will revolutionize and massively improve the WvW experience for all!
I have designed these solutions with the following criteria:
- It must reduce the impact of population imbalance at different timezones
- It must still count “nightcapping” as an equal scoring opportunity to “Primetime”
- It must reduce the “For the Tick” mentality and make capping any time equal.
- It must NOT include mechanics which would confuse people
- It must avoid possible exploitation
- It must dissuade double teaming but not eliminate it as a tactic.
- IT MUST BE SIMPLE TO IMPLEMENT (bolded for devs!)
Scoring system changes
- Split the day into 8 timezones of 3 hours.
- After 2 hours an 50 minutes scores are counted and reset during a 10 minute breathing period. (Ideal for bathroom breaks!)
- Winner of that time period gets 2 points, Second place gets 1 point, last gets zip!
- “ticks” are reduced to 1 minute intervals, which means that a cap at anytime guarantees at least 5 “ticks” of points for that objective. (no more capping an objective for 0 points as enemy recapped 30 seconds before tick…)
- At end of the week, if 2 servers are equal points, the last 3 hour period gets added on again. makes that last period before reset extra special for 2 head to head servers!
But calculating a tick every minute isn’t possible is it?
Whilst this sounds tricky, all that needs to happen in reality is that the number in the current tick box gets added to a running total for the 3 hour period.
The current tick box is already real time, and adding 2 numbers together is trivial.
At the end of the 3 hours (2:50) a bit more needs to happen with changing scores to points, adding points on to total, clearing scores etc, so I have allowed a 10 minute grace period. during these 10 minutes ticks do not happen, but you can still flip objectives, fight etc but points don’t start accumulating until the 10 minutes are up.
You could display a victory text on the screen if you wanted some fanfare!
An idea of how 24 hours of points could look are here:
http://imgur.com/onA3JAY
What is most obvious with this change is that servers, whilst able to get a decent lead, can never completely destroy a days worth of activity with just 3 hours of 600-0-0 ppt.
The most obvious example of this is in the Drakkar Lake, Miller’s Sound, Ring of fire MU.
In the real world after 3 days they are ~60k points ahead. This would require the other two servers to not only get a better PPT than DL, but also by a huge margin.
In the suggested improved version, 1 day of slightly better that DL ppt can close the gap or even overtake DL.
By allowing PPT score to be less relevant than simply being more than the enemy allows for more fights, less runaway scores and thus more morale and more fun!!!
Matchmaking Changes
1or2 up 1or2 down…
At the end of a matchup, the matchmaking server randomly decides if T1 is going to drop 1 or 2 servers. The rest of the servers follow suit!
This basically means that
- The winning server will ALWAYS climb up to the next tier (except in T1)
- The loosing server will ALWAYS drop down a tier (Except T9).
- Second place could go up OR go down!
This removes the temptation to double team, as the second place wants to beat first to guarantee to go up. Last place will not help second place, as they will want to get a 50/50 chance to climb the ladder!
It also has the benefit of matchups changing 100% every week.
Here is an example of how this weeks EU matchups could change if the following results come in (completely not accurate btw!!)
http://imgur.com/7tXZFeU
As you can see, from the start, the 2 possible outcomes are very different. This adds variety which is always a good thing!
And that about covers the suggestions
Again, none of these changes are HUGE to implement (though not a 10 minute fix)
None of these changes involve fancy buffs or calculations behind the scenes
All of these changes will improve the matchups and the enjoyment of all involved.
Please give feedback or faults you see!
Complete joke… Who would be stupid enough to push a patch on a Friday and then go home for the weekend?!?!
Guess we have to endure a weekend of crashes and login issues. Pathetic.
I main an Elemantalist and usually run in groups of 20-25 or in zergs and the Ele has a clearly defined role. I am backline, provide AoE DPS, Heals and CC and if caught by focus party, I use escapes to get safe.
The Revenant in its current iteration lacks this clearly defined role.
I’ve tried all the Legendaries and weapons and found that the following feels “best” but still lacking.
Janis (for the stability and heal)
Shiro (for the speed and “blink”)
Hammer (for the good AoE deeps and a bit of range)
Staff (for the heal, defence and 5 skill)
It feels like I should be a hit and run style character, blink in, use staff 5 for lots of damage, riposting shadow out and ranged deeps until CDs ready for round 2…
But here’s the thing:
Survivability is bad. It seems on par with engi, which means going into the blob is death.
Ranged DPS is bad. Its too low to stay out in backline and DPS
Support is bad. The stability road is not quick enough or last long enough to be a game changer. The condition theft from Mallyx = death, The ventari tablet is clunky and cannot be moved often enough for the fast moving WvW environment. The rift smash pull is TINY, so completely useless. The displacement field of Mallyx is bested by every other line and cc due to the condis you get and the fact you leap to it.
So I ask,
what does the Revenant bring to the table that cannot be achieved by exisiting meta classes, and where does it fit in the WvW environment?
You can access it from a link, but it wont appear on the subreddit list
For some reason since this last reset, Golems no longer require siege to build, and also move super fast and do crazy damage.
This is being abused HEAVILY and WvW is basically ruined.
On the plus side, I’ve yet to see a queue on EB or the BLs which is VERY unusual.
Please fix asap as this breaks a game mode many people play exclusively.
Love and kisses
Fizz
Should change the instructions from “please try again” to something else. :/
Agreed, I have been triple charged… now the fun of claiming it back…
First proper night back with my guild rolling with full steam (10 people) firstly starting off in AGBL but quickly moving out after having our tails cut off by the big guys (not 10 people). Riverside’s border was much more enjoyable in that respect, found ourselves a group that had less than 30 people and kept having good fights with them… sadly it usually came down to us not being able to finish those downed people in time while they were so spread out. All in all amazing night, looking forward to meeting BOON again… that fight was going to be awesome, if it weren’t for MM
Just so you know Clades will now be roaming most of the nights so look out and cya on the field!
p.s.: if any ECL or DTK reads this sorry for not being able to GvG as I proposed, but we couldn’t get our numbers together and it ain’t fun 20v10 not for you and for us either. Anyways I’ll be meeting you in the upcoming week(s) with hopefully more people!
Was good fights we had with you guys.
BOON were running much lighter than usual with between 8 & 12, as I was leading a small scale fun raid whilst outmanned protected us from repair bills. The fact Gandara were running in small scale and large tonight I have great respect for and keeps WvW interesting.
Hopefully next time we meet it will be more 20 v 20 and get some really brutal clashes
All in all, I’m enjoying this match-up a lot, as there seems to be an engagement size for all, from 1v1 up to 50 v 50.

Bare in mind, after the Reshuffle Whiteside ridge will be in the same situation as Piken,
What we are going to end up with is bandwagoners jumping to Whiteside/Piken, bumping queue times until the big guilds jump to a “dead” server to be able to play, dead server moves up but stays medium pop… bandwagoners jump to it again… cycle.
It’s not healthy for the game.
They need to reset scores, change to 24hour matches and change cost to move to match WvW queue times (which we know they have access to)
And to the people who keep saying “PvE will be affected” no it wont! the whole point is that guesting is now in place so that you can play on whichever server you want as long as there is a friend there… us WvWers don’t have that luxury and atm we can’t play with friends as we have almost a 2 hour queue each night, but with transfers still being the cheapest around.
I actually only finished my story to get rid of the stupid green star…. now I’ve got a purple star and an orange one?
Not impressed.
I don’t think you really need to… with xmute kits you simply need to create a lvl 1 toon, grab money from your bank, buy the armor, xmute the skin onto a white item, place item in bank, log onto the character you actually want the skin on, xmute the white item’s skin (which is the cultural skin) onto whatever gear you want.
As soon as I learned about this trick, I was wondering if it could be applied to Racial armors. Have you actually tried doing this to confirm that it’s possible?
I have tested this and can confirm that this does NOT work.
Even when transmuted with a white item, it still retains the “required race: xyz” condition.
It does however work with the cultural weapons, and the Asuran weapons look awesome on the larger races as they all carry a pink particle effect trail which is far more visable on larger races.
