I vote for yes. Definitely a good improvement for the scepter.

I don’t understand why forum people are already complaining about an update not implemented yet. We haven’t seen how the changes will affect the actual gameplay. We may all do theory crafting but everyone knows that not all computed in paper are the same in the actual game.

I’d totally suggest Dagger/Focus over a Scepter build for general dungeoneering. In a PUG, trying to play a LH Ele is pretty frustrating, and Dagger Ele still provides very good DPS while greatly increasing your own personal survivability (and the projectile block on Focus is really great in certain encounters).

GW2 camera and targeting is still kitten.

Hopefully by GW3 they can drop this archaic targeting/camera system for full action combat. I’m not asking for a TPS, but manual aiming of skills, soft lock targeting of skills (such as mass effect did with powers) and so on. I’m aware ESO has this, but I’ll wait for that to go f2p/b2p before trying it.

I agree with this. I wish I didn’t have to ‘mod’ it to play more like this. Neverwinter has spoiled me in this regard, it controls and plays real well for an ’action MMO".

NeverWinter is also another example of being rooted while attacking.

Are you saying it’s a bad thing? Because it’s a big part of why I found it’s combat so satisfying. Making the right call between attacking or moving can be very rewarding.

Another good example of being ‘rooted’ while attacking are the Souls games, Dark Souls and Demon’s Souls. A great example is the Monster Hunter series, going so far as to not rely on a target lock, leading to an interesting skill ceiling as seen in these few vids here. (may contain foul language, though).

I’ve been in real fights in my life and not moving while doing stuff is how you get hurt. Just saying.

But that’s just my opinion of course.

To bring it back to videogames, I’d say it depends on how it’s handled, such as shooters having a difference between ‘running and gunning’ and standing still to take careful shots. Dark Souls 2 broke some ‘new’ ground for itself in being able to shoot while moving, but it’s balanced out by having an increase in draw speed while doing so.

Sadly, aesthetics are a pretty big point for me when it comes to MMOs, and the overall look of it is not the most appealing. But I have seen some people play through it, admittedly does look kinda fun.

Speaking of Nexon games, is Hurk released for Vindictus yet? I wanna look into that now…

Pretty much why it doesn’t appeal to some. Perhaps due to the chibi graphics. It’s main selling point is the combat.

Thank you very much for the replies. I have noticed that my problem is just L2P issue cause I am a newbie elementalist. Now I am starting to get the hang of it and surviving more. I am trying to use 6/4/0/4/0 which gives me a condi cleanse and heal upon attuning to water. I find it much better than 6/6/2/0/0.

Is it possible to build such. I find it difficult to do pug runs using a build without sustain and condi clears which the pugs don’t bring. I am quite used to playing mesmer and thief that can sustain themselves in some way but i find it difficult with a full glass Ele. Can someone help? Thanks!

Question now that legendaries are account-bound rather than soul-bound, and you can do almost everything on any alt and give it to the alt that wants it: what about bloodstone shards? Are they still soulbound? What if you have everything else you need but the alt you want to use it on has no skill points? Another alt can make it and give it to the alt that needs it, right? Or am I missing something.

According to the wiki bloodstone shards are still soulbound.

You can do the step that needs the skitten any character, as the result is account bound even if the shard is not.

I see people (strangers in map chat) begging for money/stuff for legendaries every so often, didn’t know people actually gave them anything. O.o

I didn’t exactly beg. I linked my progress in LA (linking mats) then donations come pouring. I didn’t know that some people are so kind and supportive. I also asked some of my guildies to sell mats at a cheaper rate it helped but nothing is more helpful than those free mats from LA peeps.

I received 12 seasoned wood logs from someone, and 2 armored scales and 1 gold from a generous pug in AC. Everything else I financed myself, and it was tough but a great feeling… but on to the next legendary project soon.

Finally completed. Thanks for all those who have helped me. Someone sent me some gold for the icy rune stones needed.

After a month I’m finally there just a few days more to farm the Gold needed for the icy rune stones. Got lucky someone donated 167 pcs of pile of crystalline dust from random peeps from LA.

I know this is kind of subjective but I wanted to hear opinions regarding which race would have the best armor sets (skins) for a male Ele.

Mystic Clovers definitely should be one of the first things you get, since many of your “failures” yield things you need elsewhere in the Legendary.

I’m done with the clovers for now and looking to get more T6 mats. Which are very expensive and quite rare.

Orr events like plix, temple of mel pres, and the various defense events (not the champ farm) are the best way to get t6. Pop an omnom bar and undead potion before party up (just with anyone at the event it helps you both get more loot) and use a class/weapon set that’s easy to tag with like shortbow thief, flamethrower engi, and staff guard. you’ll get alot t5-6 fine mats form drops and also heavy moldy bags (open them if you fell lucky or sell them if you don’t it comes out about the same in the long run). magic find is important for these events so if you have extra boosters this is the time to use them you’ll also get a ton of blues/greens i recommend salvaging them for luck ( use basic kits) if your MF inst over 100, after that increasing it more or selling you blues/greens is a personal decision. Also for most T6 fine mats the t5 to t6 MF recipe is usually a way to save money if you have spare SPs as long as they’re for personal use not selling on the TP.

Edit: Sigil of fire is also great for tagging mobs.

Is Crippling Dissipation really worth it? I have a build in mind which is based on Osicat’s Napalm Cat.

0/6/6/2/0. The build will use confusion on clone death then harmonious mantra to give more charges to heal mantra and cleansing matra. This will provide a very good condition cleanse and a good thing about mantras is that they can be cast while in stealth.

My Asura uses TA with firey colors. They look great with deep purples, blues, and blacks as well. I would honestly recommend it with colors like midnight ice, starry night, and maybe a midnight purple for dark blue and purples, but with lighter accents on other minor dye slots. You want to be sure that light colors don’t go over the darks on TA as it makes it look funky and washed out.

Anyway, here’s mine. You should also experiment with Arah and other pieces from sets like masquerade, phoenix, CM, etc.

As a person who mains ele and mesmer, I’d say you need both Meteorlogicus and the Minstrel though I’m partial to the latter because of its usefulness (and sigil of Energy).

I’ve seen the screenshot of your toons and I’m quite amazed. Probably I’ll need some help. Can you help me find an armor set for asura female that will fit meteorlogicus or minstrel?

Thank you very much for the spreadsheet. I have decided to make Meteorlogicus first as I can use it for my PU mesmer in WvW. The Minstrel can wait for later. Also, I’’ll be levelling my elementalist. Scepter will be the main weapon for it so I guess Meteorlogicus will be very useful.

I threw dungeon token weapons a while ago into the forge and suddenly got the storm (pre-cursor for meteorlogicus). I didn’t expect anything really.

I was about to give up with incinerator cause I can’t play my thief properly so I bought the bard (pre cursor for minstrel) for my mesmer 2 days ago. Now I am confused what to craft lol.

But the real problem is the T6 mats. They are so expensive right now. I’ve got some from making the clovers but the amount I acquired is much less than the needed mats.

How do you get T6 mats easily? Is transmuting the materials worth it for making T6 mats? Thanks!

Better hold off your T6 mat, shard, lodestone. DON’T try to make any of the gift before you get yourself a precursor. This is very important before once you made a gift you are no turning back.

Try world completion first, you may have luck getting a precursor but save up gold as a backup plan. In case you done your map completion and still no precursor, buy one from TP, if you dont have enough gold, see if the mat in your bank is worth enough to pay the precursor cost. If yes, sold them and buy yourself a precursor. This is why i said not to make any gift, as the mat cost could be the key to your precursor. NOTHING is more important than a precursor. Even if you dont want to make a legendary later, you can still sell it for much more gold later.

Once you have a precursor, only a matter of time to your succeed. Dont gamble dont rush because you will never be the first legendary user nor the last.

Thank you very much for the replies. I am currently sitting at 130g not very much I guess and It’ll take a long time before I get that Spark. Currently doing dungeons and completing the explorable areas. Have made my chef and weaponsmith to 400 just yesterday and started to make clovers as well.

I wonder how longer it’ll take me but I hope that I can get there soon

Yes. It was really unexpected. I thought that he’ll be bash me cause he added me in a party after i lost in our duel. Surprisingly he’s a really good guy and wanted to help me improve. Good thing I accepted that party invite.

Hi guys. I just got to 80 recently and I’m trying to find some good builds for doing dungeons. Is a phantasm build good for doing dungeons? Or would a shatter build be viable too? If there are other builds I’d like to here about those.

Can you also make sure you are running your game as an administrator?

• Close your game completely.
• Right-click your GW2 game shortcut and click on “Properties”.
• On the “Compatibility” tab, check/enable the box at the bottom for your game to “Run As Administrator”.
• Hit OK after making sure this setting is enabled.
• Re-launch your game and see if the issue persists.

I just tried this. Did not work. I wonder what happened.. I was still able to play 11 hrs ago -_-

Edit: I just tried again. It is working now. I just waited a long time. The error is gone too.

I also got this issue currently. My net is fine. But still I’m stuck at the launcher. It won’t update. I have tried restarting my PC. and the launcher too. But still no luck still won’t get past the launcher
