Shared Inventory Slot pricing

then again, dye pack doesn’t list the default discount either, only 25 for 4000
why anyone would spend that many gems on a dye pack is beyond me. But I guess that’s what spawns the youtube channels and funnels their income back to Anet ;-)

5*700=3500, the default price for 5 slots is 2800 and notes the discount.

@DeShadowWolf.6854 I did state minor improvements ;-)
The gear icon is annoying, because you are most likely to want to deposit & compact afterwards.

Since runes and sigils do go into the craftsman bags, they end up floating all over the place. Perhaps a bag just for upgrade items then? I don’t know.

I would rather have a bag that costs a bit more but can be set up with whatever filters I deem necessary. Or being able to allow non-compacting bags to compact.
I know it’s nitpicking, but it’s quality of life enhancing.

The original list would be the least invasive / easiest to implement.

Oh Yes, don’t forget to reduce the clickfest Mystic Forge. Oh God … my index finger is in pain …

yeah just add crafting recipes to it already ;-)
on second thought, just don’t empty out the slots after a forge and move the result to a listbox on the right side (like the buyback window, just show mystic forge history, until you switch maps)

Consistent Yes/No dialog box. At the moment some work with esc and enter and some work only with mouse click.

oh god yes, like the reward chests, those should just get an auto-open unless there is a meaningful choice to be made.

I’ve been mentally keeping track of those annoyances we have to deal with when using the UI.

Here is a small list of minor improvements that would simplify life for a lot of us:
i1. Transparant inventory, please add an option to make it opaque…
i2. Compact and deposit as buttons, add key-binds while you are at it and maybe even a toggle to automate it?
i3. Salvage slots, you assign ‘salvage skills’ from the items you have, one for each type of rarity. Want to salvage masterwork and lower? press the green button that has a link to the copper-fed-salvage-o-matic, need to scrap your rares? press the salvage rare buttons. There would be more then enough room for buttons if the header and footer are merged to the top or bottom of the inventory screen.
i4. Salvage all dialog on things like blood rubies not actually salvaging all, either just skip the dialog (no need to OK, just spam click), or actually salvage the stack please.
i5. Option to mirror some bags, this would be a client only mirror mode, allowing craft material bags to fill up from the right instead of left. simply hide the mirror mode option if ‘show bags’ is off, if ‘show bags’ is on, there is more then enough space.
i6. identical bag priority, if two identical bags are slotted, you might want to fill the bottom one first, instead of the top one.

Crafting:
c1. Option to reorganize the crafting categories, so that it is easier to just process the raw materials that are coming in.
somthing like: Refinement, Ascended Refinement (ecto and obsidian), Legendary, Insignia/Inscription, Upgrade, Bags, weapons/armor. Armor could go: heads, shoulders, coat, gloves, leggings, boots.

Call it smart sorting, instead of alphabetical.

c2. Things like Dowels and Patches should be in a separate group, they currently clutter up material processing.
They should go right before insignia/inscription, they could be combined with crafting component.
c3. Remember the foldouts, might not be needed once some of the other points are handled.

Did I miss anything, what do others think?
I’m sure a lot of these have been mentioned before.

if Anet can tell me exactly what items are in the bank and which are in inventory, well hats off to you then ;-)

but for me, I would really appreciate being able to toggle inventory transparency off, and while you are at it, add a compact and deposit buttons / keybind.

Demo character slot

My demo char is using some of my ascended weapons/jewelry and such, will it be deleted if I forget to unequip it and put it back in my bank? If I need to put it back, what time does this demo end so I know to put back before it gets perma gone. :O

put something into the bank, then take a look on your non-demo characters.
you will notice that the bank was duplicated to a test server, so nothing between account and demo is shared.

It does seem rather weird that name and appearance would be lost and items put into the character as well.

I can understand losing progression and training being reset to 0.

Perhaps they could put the character into a kind of stasis, with an option to transfer the character into an empty character slot.

and a deposit button in inventory (or a keybind or even auto deposit)

Outnumbered and afk, how it could be better

in WvW

Posted by: Freezy.4952

Freezy.4952

My humble opinion as a pve scrub is that WvW is very easy to farm.

Current mindset of people:

I just run around the map contributing just enough to get a few camps, shrines or whatever I need to get to participation 6. Then it’s a solid half hour of semi-afk before it starts to wear off enough to care about. (need to keep participation at 3 or above).

After an intensive zerg, you can just ride it out all afk like, who cares if there is a queue right? I want my pips.

Outnumbered gives us 5 pips, so always be on the lookout for a good map swap.
Or play during the hours when nobody is in WvW, easy pips with little to do.
Sure you would like to get participation 6, but that requires more work then just the 3 you need.

My recommendation to prevent this mindset:
- Participation 3 – required for any pips (this is fine)
- Outnumbered gives 1 pip
- Participation 4, 5 and 6 give 1 additional pip
- an extra pip in the low WvW ranks (50+ would suit me just fine)

1 outnumbered, + 3 participation + 1 for not a total pleb level = 5

Also add a cash out option, that grants instant pips and WvW reward track so you dont have to afk to let the timer run down. Add an account debuff for X hours to prevent reuse. It could be a node you farm. It would prevent gaining participation for an hour, so it really is only for when you need to go to work, or such.

Just my opinion, hopefully something will be done against the outnumbered / afk thing.

Getting rewarded should be based on participation, not afk time ;-)

The Engineer Injustice

I would love to see teleporter pads as a skill, mesmers can do it, asura can build it.

I enjoyed pistol shield for a long time, but now it’s dual pistol all the way. With grenades, flamethrower and either Elixir U or Bomb Kit, depending on whether I am farming of killing respectively.
Thief does dual pistol better in terms of animations, as the engineer only uses the right pistol for 1,2 and 3 with the left pistol being used for 4 and 5.
Dual wielding should be more pew pew visually, especially if we fire off a skill that launches multiple projectiles.

It also sucks that we have no way to customize the kits visually, which makes us all sad engi’s. But then again the engineers mindset is basically: go with what works. But currently it is missing the “and tinker to improve it”.

I think the class is fine power wise, but a lot of skills are lackluster. I would like it if there were a few more viable build decisions to be made over the meta build.

As Naturesoul suggested, a Technomancer spec would be awesome.
Perhaps they could add a magic focused spec into the engineer, adding scepter-shield, scepter-pistol or scepter-focus as a build options. This could also explain Taimi, who in mindset is an engineer through and through but in fluff does a lot with different energies and feels like more of a Technomancer. That being said, a golem is a fusion of these two so a golem kit would be nice to have as well, or golem pets which would give the repair kit something to do. And of course all the engi stuff works with Tyria’s magic as a power source but the class still feels heavily focused on the mechanical side, so a Technomancer spec would fit in nicely.

Perhaps add crossbow as new weapon type, we have a rifle, but then there are also bows doing the same damage so clearly reality is not what they are going for anyways. It would require some new skills or perhaps it could be made as rifle skins.

Mace could be added as a smaller hammer to the scrapper spec, allowing mace-shield or mace-pistol and still be able to use scrapper spec. I would probably swap out tools spec for scrapper, as firearms and explosions are just too good to pass up.

The stealth function gyro is great for extended stealth running. I have enjoyed it’s use on occasion in fractals and dungeons.

How to expand home instances

in Guild Wars 2 Discussion

Posted by: Freezy.4952

being able to set a preferred home instance and then adding a home instance door in the GH as well, would be awesome way to link these two.

Make it feel like an actual home, instead of that map you visit to farm each day.

Freezy.4952

An icon change when you maxed the craft, or perhaps even indicating the tiers.
Would help this issue as well and would require no new logic or data changes.

On the login you would just see the craft with a tier indication (or perhaps a loading bar like overlay) and you would instantly know where that particular character is at.

I just use GW2 efficiency on a separate screen, that also lists the rank of the crafting for each character, which Anet could do as well.

I also like the active vs inactive crafts, with inactive crafts being darker or just hidden.

They could just add it to the info display when you inspect a character on the select screen. Or attach the rank to the mouse over info.
This last solution would take like 2 minutes to code in.

Changing Stats on Ascended Rings, and ect...

in Guild Wars 2 Discussion

Posted by: Freezy.4952

Freezy.4952

Still the point of stat change is valid, there are similar items in the new maps that allow us to change them. A cheap mystic forge recipe would be enough to make the random drops viable gear again.

I just farm the new maps for all the ascended accessories now. Making fractals, laurels and raiding less interesting from a rewards perspective.

Crystal savant outfit, as worn by an asura male

The floating shoulder shards, phase through my ears all the time. During vigorous activities they even go through my head (during mining it is one of the most frightening of appearances).

This leaves onlookers dismayed and myself perplexed as to how this garment was found suitable for big headed floppy ear asura.

My recommendation would be to lower the spikes or to change their angle, leaving the overall look the same, but diminishing the disturbing features of the garment significantly.

I love how this outfit is nearly not a skirt, the glowy lines made the purchase un-regrettable. It would be nice if once upon a time skirted shirts could be trimmed with a toggle (like shoulderpads and helmets can be), medium armor classes would thank you for this.

150 – Mystic Coin, way too expensive

50 Superior Sigil of Mischief
and
50 Superior Rune of Snowfall

I started playing a couple of months ago, removing these items from the loot table (you could have just added them as a rare drop) made the price skyrocket.

The mystic coins cost required in the rune/sigil recipes is just way too high to craft them.
Then there is a flat 150 mystic coins just for a seasonal skin.
To craft up all the required runes/sigils would take 1,450 mystic coins.

I collected everything I can, because I do want it (already gotten everything up to the rune/sigil/Magnanimous Obsidian Crystal)
But please make the cost of the item a bit more reasonable.

How about using the Wintersday drinks as substitutes for mystic coins?

Identities of Linked Worlds

in WvW

Posted by: Freezy.4952

Freezy.4952

My proposal:

- Guilds join a faction (one of the world names)
- Representing the Guild will align yourself with the guild faction

I do not WvW, because there are so few people I know on the same world.
I don’t spend time looking for a WvW guild, because I like my current guilds.
I would like to play with friends, instead of pugs.
A guild team in WvW would therefor be my personal preference.

To prevent potential abuse, you might want to limit WvW faction to a single swap per day (so you go with the first world faction you enter with for that day).
This should then still work for WvW guilds, allow more players to participate along with their friends.

I did enjoy a mesmer portal train and went along with a zerg run.
But it’s pretty boring in there without friends.

Crafting:
- daily limited as search option
- better sorting / overview

When I want to refine items, there is no easy way to besides collapse the mostly junk recipe categories and scroll down to refinement.
Alternatively, using Have materials, does not show items you could craft without having the directly needed materials.

using the word Ascended, helps a bit.

I would like to see aslight alternative instead of the alphabetical group sorting:

  • Ectoplasm Refinement
  • Obsidian Refinement
  • Wood, Leather and Ore refinement (split into seperate groups?)
  • Insignia
  • Upgrade Component
  • Bag
  • Dowel crafting
  • item crafting groups at the bottom

Please make the level 78 craft able backpacks a bit more useful by adding a level 80 exotic and ascended recipes. Also please remove the double recipe, it’s useless now since the Infusion change (though the resulting item still has a seperate item/ID).

I also get you want to push HoT content, but please add the HoT stats as options to more of the stat-switchable items. Just require HoT to actually select / switch to them.

Also transmutation charges are quite pointless (most players have more then they know what to do with).
As a new player the system just seems annoying, to the point where they negatively influence the changing of skins on lower level gear (lowering my interest in finishing other characters). I am not planning on ever buying transmutation charges, I would think this is the least favorite item in the entire store.

There are a lot of things in this game that makes you want to buy them.
With the initial purchase of HoT (free to play was very appreciated), I quickly followed by LS2 (kind of needed to get the mastery points anytime soon), gathering tools (instead of using high level tools on low level nodes or ruined X when you forget to switch), Inventory Bag slot, Bank slots, Character slot.
As a new player I was not expecting to spend this much this soon, you might want to work out a fair deal for new players.
Like a HoT, LS 2/3 bundle, with a single set of infinite gathering tools of choice, instead of the current deluxe/collectors offering of which only the character slot had immediate apparent value to me.
Having a lot of quick succession sales is very nice.

I am also looking forward to the next celebratory event, I’m sure there will be lots of stuff to do and collect.
Really enjoying the game thus far, being in a nice guild helps a lot as well.

As a new player (playing for 75 days), I found some issues I thought should be addressed.
Please feel free to chime in if any of these ideas are good/bad.

I mentioned most of these to some of my guild members and a lot seems to be on the player wishlist for quite some time.

Instead of whining about it in the Guild Chat, I thought I would post them online and hopefully some will make it into a future update. My personal preference is to have a lot of options, with the current way being the default so that nothing changes for anyone.

Guild (not a guild leader so some might already exist):

  • rotate / scale, nudge decorations
  • decoration prefab (join multiple into a blueprint/stamp, for copy pasting)
  • joined / member since date
  • last rank change date
  • crafting stations, waypoint to gather nodes / crafting area

Skins:

  • weapon / shield / backpiece dye channels
  • standardize the base colors of armor skins
  • option to mirror left or right armor pieces
  • less skirts for male armor (even the option to remove the skirt portion would be nice in some cases)
  • more symmetrical chest armor pieces
  • display amulet, rings, trinkets (perhaps set a list of mount points to choose from)
  • ability to adjust offset / scaling for armor pieces
  • guild cape (like in GW1) probably as a backpiece skin because those would conflict a lot
  • miniature dye channel

Examples of skin issues:

  • mixing and matching pieces sometimes requires different dyes in order to match visually
  • Protean Epaulets floating (fixable with an offset change)
  • Bladed armor pokes into tall male asura’s face (fixable with mirror option)
  • Rogue Pauldrons, slight clipping on asuran male back (fixable with offset or scale)
  • Radiant Vambraces has no dye channels :-(

UI:

  • Option to remove or dim the transparency of the windows
(just open the inventory partially over the crafting window and try to find out which is in which)
  • Option to move the toolbar so that the chat window can be made wider
  • Mouse cursor visibility during raids/squads/world-event is horrendous, please add a customization option
(custom mouse.cur, gif, jpg or png in GW2 root)
  • multi monitor support or an API that supports mobile devices on a local network
(so that we can move stuff like map and inventory to a second display or mobile/tablet)
even just reading inventory, bank, mat storage and map position and direction in real time would be nice (currently using gw2efficiency)
  • Skills / Traits, build saving
  • Open all to random bags + autostore mats option

Inventory:

  • Useless Hall of Monuments stone, per character, a legacy thing as I understand it…
  • Compact button and key bind
  • Deposit button and key bind
  • Sorting options or a way to specify single slot filters (like the toolbelt in factorio)
  • A Sort button and keymap
  • Seperate scale from the rest of the UI (or move to different display)
  • Transparency issue on right side of the window (see UI)
  • A Keychain (like the coin purse)
    Or
  • A few inventory slots for specific item categories like renown items, keys, non-junk trophies (like blood rubies)

Misc:
Mark all account bound Item Collection pieces as junk (so that they sell properly to the vendor), or at least make the flavor text display ‘this item only has value as part of a collection’ consistently across all such items.
Remove mentions of the stats like precision, ferocity, concentration and expertise from the UI, just display the % they grant instead. Make the math consistently linear, who cares about sub-level 80 math anyways.

Chat:

  • When blocking a person, their chat messages should be removed from the chat window as well.

Especially with gold-sellers, they are just the most annoying thing ever. You might be able to shut them down by sending cease and desist letters to all their affiliated website hosting/payment providers. They are taking actions against the EULA and most likely are also involved in account hacking, making it illegal if proven.
Also detecting their type of behavior should not be very difficult, mark them as miserable users (giving no indication that they have been silenced).
A silenced user would only be able to send successful whispers to their own IP-range, severely limiting the amount of players they can annoy, while not being able to easily detect the silenced state.
Whispers would simply not show up for the recipient, allowing them to spam and us to ignore without either being notified of it.
