Endgame fail? My suggestion for redesigning some things.

Wow, this was just painful to read, and that comes from someone who’s been wanting Guild Wars 2 to take more lessons from other MMO’s before it. There is a limit to what they should learn and what they should shun away from. WoW’s battlegrounds are utter crap. I hated them, there was nothing good in design about them. I have yet to play sPvP but I’ve seen footage of it and from what I can see the levels look a lot better than WoW’s battlegrounds ever did.
People came to WoW for the PvE mostly, the only reason they did so for the PvP was not for the battlegrounds, it was because of the excellent feeling of control you had over your character.
I don’t think I’ve ever managed to use the second ability, it doesn’t matter that I keep spamming the button, it just won’t go off at all.
These banners, man. Here I am, trying to loot my treasures when suddenly, BANNER.
Sometimes you might just want to do a quick game of PvP, so this chain nonsense should go.
Can someone explain to me what the purpose of NOT representing a guild is? I genuinely don’t know and I’m very curious as to why it’s even a feature. Is it because you can be in more than one guild at a time? (Something I still don’t see why you would want, I’d rather be able to have different guilds on alts or be guildless etc.)
Representing a guild gives that guild, guild influence. It allows you to chat in guild chat. Guild bank viewing and other basic guild features.
Yeah, I knew that part, hence why I put “the purpose of NOT representing a guild”. :P

I don’t see why not.
Can’t they set a timer that determines how long you have to wait before reporting the same account for the same reason again?
I don’t want to have to pay to get to a waypoint every time I die. What’s the point of repair costs, then? That’s supposed to be the gold sink for dying, now there’s another one.
Every time I see someone talking about the Good Ol’ Days in WoW Vanilla I gag.
Subjective. I loved vanilla WoW. Albeit not for that reason.
Both sides have already made it clear what the reasons are for wanting/not wanting this tool, so stop arguing about it. Just give your opinion about it, no one’s gonna change their mind from this.
Personally, as long as you can flag yourself as “LFG”, I’m fine with it.
The hostility towards Cazio is just stupid, haha. It’s easy to just stop reading this threads if you think it “clutters the forums”.
Personally I hate the overflow system, but I completely agree with that feature.
Wish they’d make it so reporting someone for spamming also blocks them, it’s just a needless extra step to take.
If they did add a LFD tool, I would vote it be like SWTOR’s where it is not multi-server, so you keep the sense of community on the server. It also makes people more responsible for their behavior and/or actions. Personally, I wouldn’t really want one, but if they chose to add one, I think that would be the better option.
It’s too bad that overflow already makes you jump around to every server in the game. :/
They have also made it that if you happen to be in an overflow map, you can still party with people, remove the rejoin queue for your normal server and that the overflow group still can run dungeons together. I’ve barely played in overflow maps recently, being level 58, so I didn’t really think of them. My comment was more or less aimed at people on their normal server, looking for a dungeon party.
I just meant that since you hop on over to another server entirely it kind of ruins the community feel for me.
70c is cheap for waypoints, I was standing not 30 feet away from one and it was 1s16c! I’m going to say keep it as it is, simply because the jumping across the map like we had on GW1 did feel a little immersion breaking.
Pro-tip: If you want to get back to LA for free, queue Borderlands and kill time until you get there and then bust through their asura gate.
Go to the Mists? :P
I wish this was the case for heritage armor.
With heritage gear you can at least STACK the heritage-skinning item (up to 250 I believe). For a while I kept a set of heritage stacks around on my guardian until I got gear I liked more.
I’m poor. :P

Guardian transformation to Sailor Moon.
Dueling will be in the game, one way or another. :P
I don’t mind the dynamic events and heart quests but for some reason the leveling is too slow for me, I always end up having to stick around after completing a zone 100%. I know you’re “meant” to go to other equally leveled zones but that just feels wrong to me, I want the story to move forward, not go from the human zones to the Asura and jump in in the middle of that, it doesn’t feel right to me on a role playing level. I also understand that doing a lot of crafting helps, but that’s not something I want to HAVE to do in order to keep up, I’d rather it didn’t give you experience so it was more of a choice.
I wish they would add in a couple of “normal” quests in every zone so that you had the option of what you wanted to do.
Keep in mind that this is completely subjective and it’s not like I’m gonna go and give up just because my play-style makes it harder for me to level up, just wanted to share my opinion.
Edit: I do play every story mission and so far they’ve been the best part for me in this game.

While I don’t necessarily disagree with you, I’ve heard many people talk about how you’d have to go through a dungeon a bit too many times to get these tokens to buy gear with. Correct me if this is wrong, though.
Either way, if that’s the case then shouldn’t there be a way to quickly find a group since it takes some major farming to accomplish getting this gear?
I thought they swung and missed on the rifle. They should have called it a shotgun. A rifle is a deadly weapon at range. Most of the skills for the GW2 rifle are close range (overcharged shot, net shot, etc…). If the GW2 rifle was a severely ranged weapon, I’d agree the Ranger should have it.
When I first started reading in this thread I thought: Of course rangers should have rifles! However, you sir, are completely right. The “rifles” in this game aren’t actually rifles (at least that’s the way I’ve come to understand what a rifle is, and this is more of a shotgun to me, as well) so it makes sense that the Warriors should have it and the Rangers shouldn’t.
I wish this was the case for heritage armor.
Either way, if this was done for more than glasses I would probably have a look around and see if there’s anything to my liking.
They have more important things to take care of right now, though, and I appreciate that, but wouldn’t mind this sometime in the future.
Because this:
https://forum-en.gw2archive.eu/forum/game/gw2/Language-for-International-Servers/first#post72866
On Worlds that do not have a designated language tag (i.e. DE, FR, or ES), people may speak whatever language they wish to speak. If anyone is verbally abusing people for speaking a different language from them, please report them.
@Gamakatana: not everyone speaks English. This is an international game. Players should be able to speak whatever language they wish to and play in peace.
In every game but this one the language tag has a meaning. Also, Gray, you’re still an idiot. It’s the overflow that makes it so that there’s more English or whatever language than there otherwise would be. Please, stop commenting if you’re just going to try to talk your way out of that.
Gray: What a great pro tip right there! Do you want to know why that is? It’s because when you get into the overflow you get pushed to ANY server that has free space, that includes the other language servers. Stop saying “protip” when you clearly have no idea what you are talking about.
Ok, so you basically deleted my comment for 3 of the words in it. Let me re-post that, but without the first line of text that apparently was too violent for this forum.
What is the point of the servers with language tags if you can speak any language on any server? What’s with the special treatment? Is it because they have the option to change all text in-game to their language etc? Because there is clearly an option for English too. I want English servers.

Then how about making English servers? What’s the point of even having the DE/FR/ES servers if you can speak whatever language you want in any server? I’d rather have everyone speak English on the server I play on, thank you.
Aside of maybe some European servers, that’s completely unnecessary. English speakers are the extreme majority in most servers and you really don’t get to hear anything else on map chat.
I am playing on the European servers.

Oh, I didn’t mean anything negative with it. Sorry that it came out like that.
You’re definitely not alone. Overflow, as it is now, is atrocious and needs to be reworked. The fact that every single zone is instanced is stupid because it means ‘loading screen – the game". While, this thread is about overflow and not the zones, it’s kind of connected in the sense that when you enter a new zone you’re brought to the overflow again. Why even make me pick a server if I’m tossed around everywhere? They might as well just make you pick what team you want to be on for WvW and then that’s it.
I take it you watched Jesse’s Q&A?
It should be optional.
Is there any way to remove this filter? It’s getting quite annoying.
It says “bad language” on the box, please give me an option to remove the filter.
There is no reason not to have mounts in this game. There already exist ‘speed boons’ that work the same way.
As far as I’ve been able to deduce, the most common arguments as to why mounts shouldn’t exist are either:
1. You wouldn’t stop to help another player.
2. It would make you use waypoints less, thus screwing up the gold sink.
3. You wouldn’t be as ‘involved’ in the world when you just speed by it.
To that I say:
1. That’s very dependent on the person in question. I, personally, would stop to help if I was in the near vicinity. For me it’s no different from what we already have (speed boons), the only difference is that a mount would make it less annoying to keep the movement speed up. I can still have it up 100% of the time, it just forces me to click a button when it’s about to run out.
2. I don’t think it would, but if it was the case and ArenaNet noticed a significant change they could simply have us sink gold elsewhere.
3. As I said in point #1, we already have speed boons that accomplish the same thing.
Flying mounts – no, never.
Ground mounts – yes, please.
