I’d gone back to WoW and it’s not as bad as everyone says, in some ways it’s lovely because it’s polished but the dailies are like a big black kitten to the face! The grind is teribad. I do love being a pokemon master though.

I’m just waiting for GW2 to pull itself together. Someone (Mathias.9657) said the state of PvP in MMOs is at an all time low and I sadly find myself nodding with big watery eyes.

If anyone fancies RAF and booking a weekend off to lvl something more bearable in the game that probably shouldn’t be named then let me know… I wouldn’t mind starting fresh. I will check in with you guys again in a few months and hope to receive as fine and humorous response as I have here.

I just wondered whether it’s worth coming back to GW2 yet? I left because there was no content/decent ranking/any love! I figure it’ll be a great game when they finally stop playing with their kittens.

Could someone give me a brief run down of where sPvP and tPvP is at? Is it worth coming back yet or better to leave six months?

I believe you’re playing 30/30/0/0/10 in WvWvW and 0/10/30/15/15 in sPvP bro… why you worried about this when you’re broadcasting your build in the forums anyway?

False. Engineers can add more boons than can be removed/converted. The fact that you posted that discredits you.

Remove a stack of might from a HGH Engineer midfight and then it’ll either fight you without might or take a lot of time out of attacking you in order to regain 9x~ might. Either way it’s a fight changing move and a weakness of the HGH Engineer.

Yes the leaderboards are useless. Is that a reason to quit GW2? No. If you are quitting GW2 because of the leaderboards, you weren’t pvp’ing for the right reasons.

Anyway, yea playing at nightime will definitely get you top stats. I solo queue a lot but I also play with a few friends at nightime and sometimes we go on quite a win streak even against some good team comps. In fact, I had quite a good match against a few Curse guys on EU with a solo queue pug late at night. It was funny because I expected to be wiped on the floor but totally the opposite.

Yeh my rank is like 90% and I want to play and win so don’t pug anymore but haven’t found a good team.

10 points into Firearms to give you 20% regen on Rifle.

30 points into Alchemy to give you 30% boon duration + you 20% on Elixirs, Condition Removal, HGH (stack might).

30 points into Tools gives 30% crit damage + perma swiftness + 20% on tool kit regen and Throw Wrench gives a slow + 50% endurance regen.

You have so much CC here, a pull with tool kit, a shield with tool kit, toss Elixir U gets
a wall to protect you from ranged. Net Shot holds people down, Overcharged shot knocks back and jump shot is powerful followup to net shot.

Using HGH and sigils of Battle stacks much might while you slip in and out of toolkit and the runes increase the stacks. I believe getting all might doesnt work (there is a cap when I tested it) so took 2 × 10% boons. You can hit up to about 20 stacks.

And I checked my rank and I’m 90% kitten looking for tPvP team!

I think the obvious issue is…stop thinking of GW2 as a “team game”. It’s not. And that’s not a bad thing. You should be able to reach the top levels of play only depending on your own skill.

This is total kitten. Ofc GW2 is a team game, tPvP is five man and sPvP is zerg which by definition involves lots of people playing together.

Conquest is a team game, and 5 people on 3rp party voip is by far superior.

Solo or Premade, it’s 5 people running to 3 nodes, outnumbering and destroying each other in unfairly balanced skirmishes. The entire game is about ganging up on people. Trying to do that solo, (having no communication with your team) is just mindless, happenstance bs.

1 or 2 viable builds per class = cheese vs futility

The leaderboard is mainly a list of elitists who consistently run cheese builds with 4 others in voip. The amount of people who play like this is a very small fraction of the entire player base (most of whom chose to quit rather than feed this moloch)

This is the best description I’ve ever read of GW2 in it’s current state and since b3ta! I wish I could award you a cookie.

I took a look at the leaderboards and have stopped playing GW2. Totally useless. Why don’t we have a rank? Why don’t we have more than one game mode? Everything to do with PvP since launch has been low effort and I’m moving on. Arenanet failed @ PvP.

I’ve been playing since beta and hoping and waiting for them to give some love to PvP. After all the talk of breaking the holy trinity I am fed up of tanks and point domination.

As soon as anything remotely playable (mmorpg) comes along I will jump ship. I also refuse to spend ANY money with them in their shop for the fact that they’ve failed to deliver.

In WoW I had bought all pets/spent loads and was happy to! (tbc/wtlk). I would be happy to pay if Anet would stop short changing me.

I would suggest that combat stops before the board is shown. Some time to look at the board without giving the satisfaction of being stomped or killed to the enemy who you’ve been fighting just because you want to stop and read the board.

Agreed you should be kicked out from the mists for a certain amount of time like back in WoW imo.

At the end of a sPvP match the score board is slapped across the screen even if I’m in combat! SERIOUSLY… having to click the board away in the middle of combat is infuriating. I know no-one is getting points once the match is over but I’m still in combat and I don’t like dying and especially not because someone at arenanet hasn’t though it through!

You could take all runes of the undead if you want more DPS (but change the sigil of smouldering for minor corruption).

Hello All.

After a lot of playing and refinement I have come up with this build which I’m willing to share. It’s by far my favourite for sPvP and I do tournie when I get a chance with it (still looking for a proper tournie team).

High survivability and good dps. Some other great stuff here, perma swiftness (from Speedy Kits & 20% boon duration) + a shield type mechanic from tool kit. Pulling people in like a Death Knight (soz for the wow ref) and good dps with dbl pistols.

Burst with Elixir U.

Burn 3 second tic with sigil + runes.

Invisibility – can be gained from Elixir S (AOE) as well as Elixir U (wall) if it procs.

Controlling the fight – Use the supply crate to stun and Elixir U vs Ranged. Use the knee shot & throw wrench vs Melee (5 sec cripple).

Tool Kit = gives you a shield with “Gear Shield” and a great combo of “Magnet” pulling the target to you followed by unleashing Blowtorch with your pistols into them while they’re down. Hit them with the traited “Throw Wrench” to cripple them and put distance between you.

OP says this is a might stacking build but he doesn’t stack might properly (see the runes he uses) you can go 60% might from runes (2 x Hoelbrak 20% Might / 2 x Strength 20% Might / 2 x Fire 20% Might). Would give you far more.

GW2 is not a 1v1 game and any kind of demonstration where it’s just 1v1 is invalid because the “balance” people look for is not based in 1v1.

Lastly the build is very obvious as it’ll be 30 / 30 / 10. Personally I like Knee Shot for the extra 5 second cripple.
