personally i like my ranger as commander, i can stay back out of the fight and view things when i have to, i can switch to melee and charge in like a soldier, and i can roll support when its lacking. i find i provide good damage even when more worried about survival, and can still passivly contribute to the fight while looking at the map on occasion. and having a long range AoE in the grp at all times never hurts. plus when using range its easy for my team to figure out what targets im attacking just by following the arrows.

after switching out my glass cannon spec for a survival/condition build, i found i rarely ever die and even better i can still take opponents down when im on my own. but like those above me have said, its all personal preference.

Very Very impressed with the coordination used in denying a force 3-4 times your size up the ramp. that being said, the people you were fighting appear to be tactically unsound….as they EASILY had the force to overrun and just blow past you guys XD

just goes to show what a little teamwork can do against the iconic “zerg” with no mind or stratagy

ive found that most suppression comes with rapid messages in a short amount of time. what ive started doing in command, is have someone in my TS repeat orders after i type them once. not only does this keep from suppression, but when randoms see several diff people typing the same thing, it tends to get the point across clearer.

the suppression is a pain, and does need to be fixed, but until then this method has served me well

Yea Hills was sieged up and was a blast to defend all day. My favorite moment was wiping 6 golems in 5 seconds on the north hills gate.

unfortunatly id like to point out that there was 8 golems in the first rush :/
you guyd do deserve a little accurate bragging rights for that btw! the cout party you left at north hills was the most annoying counter to a golem rush i could have ever forseen.

that being said, FAllenzippy (icons golem obsessed nude radish) donated most of those golems to the cause out of his own pocket. and from what i understand he still considers it a sucessful rush, cuz it was a helluva lotta fun!!!!!!

I for one have deeply enjoyed fighting with our new SBI opponents, and TC as well. I would not be dissapointed by fighting you for weeks to come, and enjoying the intense fights and exciting, hair pulling strategic twists!

I presume you are SBI… SoR even have a guild that for what i’ve seen is only for jump puzzle camping (yeah i’m talking about you [CAMP]). But you can break their lines if you get a few people help and if TC doesn’t interfere…

Now personally i think camping a JP is stupid, and yea there are guilds on every server that do it, sadly including SoR. That being said, i have also personally walked into the EB JP on several occasions to find HSSS with no less than 3 AC’s, 2 balistas, and sometimes a cata and even a treb once. So while it is a huge waste of manpower and rediculously ignorant to camp in a JP while people are waiting in Que to get into EB to help, as a member of HSSS you have ZERO right to talk down to ANYONE about camping a JP.

after 14 hours since reset, its finally time for me to log out and get a few hours of sleep. SoR BL has been nothing but fun and exciting, and i have nothing but respect for the SBI and TC players that have been giving me hell all night long -_-

i must say, last night was one of the most intense reset nights ive ever experienced on SoR BL. nonstop action for 12 hours before i finally passed out.

i know alot of people complain and moan about scores, tiers, etc etc, but for me last night was where it was at. i tip my hat to both BG and TC for providing the most entertainment i have had in GW2, and have nothing but respect for the players who fought their hearts out. keep up the fun guys, and remember this is a GAME first, enjoy it!

there arent really self repairing walls/doors in WvW. they must be manually repaired. the 10% thing, well essentially when a wall/door breaches, u can close it by repairing it. in order for the wall/door to close off again, the health of the structure must be 10%

try Sanctum of Rall. with some of your best guilds being outnumbered in NA offhours, we have learned to use stratagy over sheer manpower. as a T2 server we are well experienced with a great community, and are always looking for people willing to try to coordinate tactics. with a server wide TS3 as well, it makes the quick ability to pull of manuevers in the field very possible. look us up in some of the WvW forums, or guild recruiting forums to see who you would fit in with best.

[icon] is looking to expand our roster with active and social members. we are a pretty laid back group of arond 75 members who like to joke around, laugh, and have fun. we do somewhat enforce repping [icon] for the simple reason that we like to keep our members active together. Helping each other is essential to [icon] as it builds a stronger community, as well as benifits the guild as a whole thru influence gain, unit moral, and if nothing else helps when finding groups for dungeons or WvW.

[icon] has members interested in every aspect of the game, including PvE dungeons, Fractals, WvW, SPvP, and exploration. Most of these activities are rather laid back and meant for joking around and getting to know your teamates and learning to work together.

For a WvW standpoint, this is where [icon] gets a little more serious and buckles down for the more, hardcore, side of things. We do have our goofy joking moments in WvW, but because this aspect impacts the entire server, not just us, we tend to get a little more serious with WvW, focusing on small unit stratagy, map coordination with other commanders/guilds, and offensive/defensive unit tactics. Because of the slightly more serious nature of WvW, [icon] does require Teamspeak 3 for all members.

TS3 is an essential part of WvW and guild community. [icon] has our own TS3 server for general PvE or guild events, as well as just messin around and hanging out with each other. For WvW we utilize the SoR Server Wide TS3 provided by a guild on SoR to help with coordination inside WvW.

with that being said, SoR STILL remained on the map, and pushed BG back, even being outnumbered 2-1 at every turn. but sadly the numbers will win against us at the end.

in all seriousness tho, there isnt a “treaty” or server alliance, 9/10 players see red and it dont matter if its TC or BG, they are just as targettable and attackable. stand in the way, and you get an arrow in the face. when it comes down to being severly outmanned, some people do chose to go mess around in tc borderlands, because its a more even fight, than 5v20 when attacking bg. if it seems unbalanced, that is the ONLY reason why. people want to have fun, and its not fun when you stand zero chance in a small friends grp

Get over it. There aren’t any current alliances, or 2v1’s going on.
Many play for the fight. Which if playing for that, they all seem to be playing correctly, because each day there are very epic fights.

As for BG, their Oceanic/EU crews are very strong while TC/SoR’s are very weak or non existent. BG manages to easily hold 3 maps at all green (or 99% BG owned) while pushing and owning over 60% of a 4th WvW map.

Now it lasts apx 4-6hours like that. BG can field enough during the time zone SOR/TC lack coverage and can’t even get above 20-30 people into 1 map. Whereas BG can field apx 60-80(or more?) in 3 maps at the same time along with pushing a 4th map. (Now the player numbers are guesses. Not 100% correct.)

When I left for work an hour and a half ago, we still had Bay, Hills, Woods, Dawns, and Garrison…all upgraded and sieged. I grow weary of the nightly BG roflstomp of our skeleton crew.

How ’bout we pick a time, say 6am west coast NA, and we play “pretend PvDoor” for a couple of hours. Zippy will even donate a golem to the cause.

TC will have a couple of bad apples here and there. We usually have one TCer who usually makes fun of us because “we keep on fighting” even though we’re losing. Surprise he hasnt showed up yet. Anyways, lets not feed em and try to keep this thread positive until this year ends.

Are you guys 100% sure that these are exploits? I just ninja’d a tower twice in a row with 2 others because the enemy did not do a good enough job with their sweeps. Maybe they just hid in the tower until people left? That’s how we did it.

And if you were wondering, it was us thieves that ninja’d anzi 2 times, only to have TC wipe the floor with us when they found out =D

100% positive to the dawns issue, i stationed personally there for a min of 3 hours, after sweeps and fortifications. no breaches along any walls, there was no legitimate way to get inside

Typically i do not post, i just watch, but something i think all three servers should come together on here…
SoR, BG, and TC are all outstanding servers and usually have excellent sportmanship when playing together, its saddening to see things like exploits used to ruin hard work of dedicated players. all i am asking is that if you catch players on your server, or if someone mentions incidents, do what you can to handle these individuals with your own servers, as to not ruin the fun of WvWvW for others.
