Yeah I have to agree the zone is pretty bad.
I remember back in the days of DAoC and WoW thanksgiving weekend things where nuts. We always had a ton of fun. I think GW2 is have thing “now what” senerio going on right now. Hopefully they come out of it.
I am not a big complainer and ushually just look at the forums and shake my head and close my browser. But seriously, we need progression in WvW. We can’t just sit here and not progress our characters. Sure some people will play WvW for nothing but the majority want to feel like they are working towards something. (Myself included) This new PvE gear shouldn’t be available for engaging in WvW but there should be a comparable set that looks different for your time in WvW. How can A-Net not see this? It’s baffling… Why they want to upset their customer base really makes me wonder who makes decisions like this?

I see people complain they don’t want gear for progression in WvW. It makes it like WoW blah blah. But I know that if they don’t do anything that we can progress towards this game will be deader than dead in a few months. Hell it is already headed in that direction as we speak according to 90% of the people on theses forums. They have to give us progression that makes our toons better. No “Titles” will not cut it. Granz “The Super Awesome” above my head won’t work. I personally think Mythic nailed the PvP progression system in DAoC. Abilities and stat buffs was awesome. But never the less we need something. We need a reason to play this game. Right now there isn’t one.
I can’t say too much just yet, but we’re doing some work related to rewards and character progression in WvW even now. It will be a little while before we’re ready to talk about more details though. Rewards, progression, and incentives for play are hot topics around the office. We all care about this stuff and once we have some more details hammered out we’ll let you all know what we’re up to.
I have to agree with my other comrades here on the forums. DAoC had a super system and obviously you guys at ANet feel the same way. We need to be able to advance our toons by PvPing in WvW. The idea of “everyone” is equal is great on paper but we need a reason to log in. Mythic’s realm rank system still works to this day and keeps people engaged.
This is part of the game. It’s called a block. This has existed in many games as a tactic. DAoC we did this all the time and block the gates for reinforcements. It was awesome and the opposite team would often find ways to break through the “mile gates”. It made for a great Saturday night of war!
I agree they need to add some more depth to WvW for us to log in and play. They have put in this huge effort on this system and tried to “Make it fair” without PvP rewards. Frankly they need to come up with something. I really enjoy the game but this is an issue. I am fighting towards nothing… Gaining nothing is not the way of the gaming world now. Even FPS’s are trying to keep you engaged now a days. I am not sure what A-Net was thinking on this.

Yeah I have to agree it is pretty buggy. I do dislike that sometime you get swarmed by mobs and barely can hold down the spawn to get things done. It needs some tweaking for sure. I don’t think it is total junk but needs work.
Nice to see a good post from someone that understands MMO’s. Anet produced with GW1 with some really cool patches and expansions I expect the same with this. I am not a fanbois but honestly I don’t have the time like I used to and this game fits me well.
Mouse rotation speed is the wrong term in hindsight….more like camera turn speed. Felt like keyboard turning, even with the pertaining setting slider in the options menu, all the way to the right.
Anyways, ya..it’s gone.
Yes it worked awesome for me too! It ran pretty well for me. But this did make it better for sure.
They did great… I can’t wait to see what they have in store for us.
Yep… I finished Gears of war 1,2 and 3 in 8 hours and never complained. This game is well worth it.
Mario never forces you to PvP and you can save the princess! You should try that. No one will kill you there.
You toss your balls into his mouth? Seriously that’s the best endgame yet! Played that before and it never gets old!
I am not sure what your doing wrong OP. Maybe your not exploring enough? Each zone I totally explore and I am over leveled. Slow down and play the game. Don’t race and you find your leveled fine.
