or they could make it so you could sell it back… it’s not like it matters to the ‘economy’ at all….
meh, I am mad, mostly at myself, but partly at the Store…. but I chalk it up to a loss of $$/gems…
I have seven extra bank slots,
I saw in the Store that I could buy another bank slot,
I thought, due to the verbage of the item’s description, that I could make it 8 extra slots…
…now I have an account bound item I can’t use and am out the gems.
You’d think it would be like it was months ago, where they wouldn’t show up in the Store when you can’t use them…. AND they’d change the wording so as to be clear you can ONLY have 7 extra slots, no matter what…. It’s the only reason I bought it, thought it was something new… (haven’t played since Dec)
When you run you change back to your OLD size… it looks funny to shrink or grow while running, then ‘spring back’ to the ‘new normal’ when you stop! hee hee
Mine also were from the same institution, the old one expired, I got the new one, it didn’t let me buy gems. It was that simple in my case. That was my only point.
However, due to your arrogance, I pre-emptively laugh at you if it turns out to be the case, and pre-emptively apologize if it turns out not to be the case. It’s just a stupid phone call.

so, your answer is ‘no, I have not called’… ok….
I am not saying it is THE solution, I am saying it is something that can be easily and quickly corrected by YOU if it is the problem…
You got a new card, have you called to make sure there is not a block? I ask because my new credit union card did have a block on it vs. any MMO be default…
I know how and where to get keys…. lol… It was just an example more than anything else… though the idea of un-binding items is appealing, I understand the anti-gold-farming reasons not to do that.
Our family has five accounts, I have MAX bank slots, 15 character slots, bought three accounts for friends to play, so the money side/supporting Anet is not an issue…
(we even started a guild just for more bank slot space, lol)
I was just putting it out there as a way for people to get more enjoyment out of the ‘BLT’ lottery….

How about having The Black Lion Trading Post buy back ‘Account Bound BLTP Items’ they sell??
Buy them back for less than the gem ‘value’ they are sold for? (one quarter? one tenth? some fraction?)
I know I have tons of stuff I don’t want that is sold for gems, and would love to get some of the ‘value’, that is currently a ‘loss’ for me, back.
Fine Transmutation Stones come to mind, then I could finally get some BLTP Keys… since the drop rate was horribly nerfed…..
It’s a thought….

You know, I found your post very interesting Fiontar.4695; Enough so that I checked with my law professor.
Ohio does indeed have gambling laws dealing with virtual products and the exchange of real world money. From what was explained to me, living here, if I buy these chests, I could be charged with illegal gambling. On the other hand, They would not be unless it violates some federal inter-state commerce clause. Very enlightening.
[edit] Ok, he was only partially correct. I actually cannot be charged, because whatever the outcome, I do not OWN said ‘winnings’. Therefore, I have not ‘gained’ anything, which is a requirement of gambling ‘winnings’. [/edit]

Because I could find no way to do that listed here or in the Support section. He wants to play, could not afford it, so I was nice and bought it for him off Amazon Digital, but he’d like to keep his current account….

I wouldn’t expect a level cap change on expansion(s)… at least not the first one a few years from now… (based upon past design and stated goals as to why 80 is the cap now)
Check out Youtube, look for ‘guild wars 2 complete beginner crafting guide’ by Enigmius, it will help you immensely!
well, I had not even done any of the discoveries for leatherworking and none of the blues were showing up… the next day it was fine, last night some weren’t there again…. I DO have more than two crafts learned… crossed data?
Leatherworking as well.
On Tarnished Coast Server:
The hologram is missing to start the Skill Point challenge in the Inquisition Outer Complex on the main map. (Since it is the map I log into and am not told I am on overflow I making that assumption.) I was told if you can find someone on overflow and join their map you can complete the challenge, but you know, it really should be the same on every map, right?
Yes, it is how they prevent market control by one player or even a small group of them… it’s hard, if not impossible to control the 84000 listed wood, for instance….
Basically you are all posting decent enough debates on the merits, but you obviously failed your ‘listen check’.
It is NOT going to happen, AN has no plans, isn’t even interested in looking at it. They have been adamant on some subjects, this is one of them.
?Try again in six months to a year?
Ok, I had about 1300 chests…. 1250 of them cost me under 2 gold on the AH. I think I got another 50-54 chests from drops while playing, so that total is a guesstimate.
I bought 5 keys with gems, I got 3 keys as drops, and 1 as a reward. I decided to buy 1 more, with gems I got from gold, to make it an even 10 keys.
I now have 1164(?around that?) chests left. You get a lot of 1 key drops from the chests themselves. Sometimes you get multiple key drops, I didn’t see any myself, but my son got two on one drop and four on another.
The best ‘open a chest and get a key as a reward’ run I had was 27 in a row. The ‘average’ run is more like 4-7 in a row. I think the price on these is just fine for what I have as rewards.

HAVING a floor ‘in practice’ doesn’t do anything other than protect the inept and unlucky, that’s why governments use that tool from the macro economics box in the first place. It really doesn’t work any better in real life than it does in the game…
As I said, I would prefer not to see a floor at all, but if they insist on having one, at least make it one where you could make a copper selling the junk from your bags…. otherwise WHY even have a Trading Post? Why not just make it a ‘shared vendor’ everyone can sell to and buy from? The whole motivator on a ‘market’ is profit.
(edited by Grimm Liberty.4206)
no it’s not… just keep buying all the stuff that people put up at a loss, a year from now (or sooner) there will be demand and you will make a killing with your 250k+ ‘whatever’ commodity…
Meanwhile YOU can force the market down to the artificial floor and rake stuff in to sell later. Worst case scenario? You are out money now, but in the end you break even.
IF they have a floor…. I personally think there shouldn’t be one…
I am just saying the ‘Net Floor’ should be ABOVE what the VENDOR PRICE is…
and that is the NEEDED formula for that to happen.
IF they are going to have an artificial floor price, THEN they need to put the floor at ((vendor price) PLUS (15% vendor price) PLUS (1c))
instead of just (vendor price).
I can but dream….
yuppers…. I agree colortwang.
IF they are going to have an artificial floor price, then they REALLY need to put the floor at ((vendor price) PLUS (15% vendor prive)+1c) instead of just (vendor price). This would make everyone have a reason to AH things and no stupid ‘below vendor sales’ like this…
Um, no,
IF they bought them, they know HOW MANY they are getting,
AND they know WHAT THEY CAN BUY…..
THEY spent the $,
so they DO know what they are getting, or not. Stupid is as stupid does?
WANT the gem prices to come down? Stop spending $ for them, aNet will catch on quick and lower the price or give more gems…
yay, context. :-)
IF you just played the game for a few months you would have more than enough gold to exchange for gems to get all the stuff you cited for free…. L2P
I should be able to turn a profit on it because that is THE reason the Trading Post is there… it is that simple….
IF not for profit we would all just vendor it all or give it to friends. There would be NO REASON to have the TP in the first place.
But since the TP IS there, we sell it to make money. Not a hard concept.
OK, here is a scoup for you people….
The more you farm a creature or an area, the less likely you will get a good drop of anything!
We’ve tested this. Go to an different area and kill something else for a while. When you come back you will find the drop rate increased.
Better yet, find mobs that have been in the world a long time and give bonus xp!
You will find them dropping greens and yellows and tons of blues….
See, actually, it must be you…. because, as I have said, I know a few who faceroll people all the time…..
Muhahaha….. so stunningly silly.
My son plays a Necro that can SOLO bosses. It sounds like you might want to try another build.
As for PvP, I confess the only people I know who have good builds and faceroll people are Elementalists, though in other places people say THEY are weak… lol
learn to play them better… I know MANY who rule in PvP and PvE….
I would have NO problem with this EXCEPT they are warned about selling below vendor pricing… so they sell it @ vendor pricing, which means NO ONE can make a profit… how do you compete against 345345234 of something losing money?
They need to price fix it, (vendor price + 1cp + %fee) minimal price
OR they need to remove the bottom warning so others can buy it up and vendor it for a profit.
Why is the TP there in the first place? The ability to build something beyond a single player game? Shared resources and profit to build ‘community’?
Right now I just vendor it all, because I will make more money. It’s that simple. How is that any different than a single player game?

Look aNet, the solution is simple.
Bottom cap the prices. Make it so you CANNOT SELL anything for under (Vendor Price+1cp +10%fee), then EVERYONE on the trading post will make profit, even the stupid people.
Right now just put that filter into place then ‘bump’ everyone below that up to that level and be done with it.
