i cant relog in yet, but it does get to character creation and kick me from there quicker :P

edit: ok finally can get back in, only slight rollback for me. I guess it depends on if you were in an instance when the dc happened

My American friends are still playing just fine. I and another friend, both in Toronto, have been DC’d and can’t get back in.

Maybe something in the Northeast then? I live in upstate NY and cannot connect either.

well id give him 4 days, as that low of a ticket number had to happen in the morning if you count day 1 as a day

trust me you will not cause confusion, post the old ticket number here cherry. Gaile will actually ask for the old ticket number not the new one. They always want the oldest ticket number. And trust me it will save you plenty of time.

they claim most tickets get solved in 48 hours…. however us with this issue have not even had our tickets looked at. He said SOME issues take longer due to the issue, however in no way is activating our accounts back from there crappy security coding that fails at keeping hackers out but manages to block out the actual account owner a long issue to fix. Its simple click reactivate. Its amazing to me that there are people posting about being fixed within 48 hours. There ticket submission system is as buggy as there account security.

If you want to get him up quicker, find the ticket number of the original ticket. even though the account is locked out or not working. They only look at tickets 5 days or older immediately on t he forums. It will save you a lot of time if you can locate the original ticket number.

From being in this account forum for awhile now, its come to my attention that most people who hit the 5-day window or longers tickets where never looked at in the first place, and them posting that is the first time they ever even get looked at. Now if some people are getting there accounts fixed within 48 hours then there must be something faulty with the way your tickets reach your support staff that is burying a lot of our tickets. Especially as i said in cases like mine that i know many many others on this forum also have who are waiting as well, when there is no need for investigation into who hacked the account or anything as all it was, was a poor account security measure on the developer side. or a bug in it more likely.

I can not see how that is the truth Gaile, as many of us are just waiting for our accounts to be reactivated when they were suspended from us logging back in to quickly after a dc. An issue like that does not take a long process or require more time, that is just a faulty protection, or perhaps an overprotective system. As i know my ticket and many others with my issue have definatly not even been looked at within your 48 hours window, if that was true than none of us with the login issue should reach the 5-day window

they currently do not have a way to rollback characters or return your items, a rollback system is i the works but is not out yet

Oh please. Letting someone play your game to try it out is not account sharing. How about we just stop letting people borrow other games of ours because it might as well be the same as illegally copying the game?

im actually confused now, they contradict themself in the same paragraph in 9.B.

(b) Each Account may only be used by one person. If a minor has been allowed access to an Account by his/her parents or legal guardians, only that minor may use the Account thereafter. You may not make any assignment or transfer of rights, obligations or liabilities related to this agreement and any attempt by You to do so is null and void. However, You may allow access to an Account to any family member who is living in Your household.

hey cherry, if you husband sent in an email to anet support they prolly sent him a ticket number, post the ticket number here so GaileGray can get the ticket on the list. If he submited it on aug31st your definatly past the 5day window and should be on the list.

Same thing happened to me, I let my nephew play a character on my account so that he could see how awesome the game was, next time I logged on I was banned, no way to find out what really happened. Just says for botting or third party.

I would at least say, delete the character that the violation happened on, or at most a lengthy suspension so that customers get the point and won’t violate (or in my case, give out their account information).

I am hoping that if enough people comment on this issue, they will offer us an appeal like they did for the 3000 people banned for buying cheap karma items.

chances are your account was not even attacked. Seems a part of GW2s detection is set off if you get dced and try to login to quickly. This has happened to many of us that are waiting to get our accounts back.

chances are her email and gw2 account have the same password and the Chinese kiddie have her info, she should change both of her passwords and make her emails password different than her gw2s password. When someone trys to login to your account from a different region anet picks it up and sends an email to you to accept the connection. Chances are they had her email as well and accepted the message.

whenever a login to your account happens from a different area they block it and send you that email, if it is you trying to get in from there then accept it, if not, change your password immediately. also your emails password if it is the same.

We all wish the same but truth is anet support team was just was not prepared it seems. Lol i just want to play don’t care much for daily’s, i only played for about 2 hours before this happened to me. And i leave to deploy at the end of October, so i am hoping to get some time in game before i leave and would be super happy if i find we have a great internet in our morale tent once i get over there. It all a waiting game guys, anet is getting quicker by the day so sooner or later they will get to us.

well actually in a case like that, you would wait for the police to show up, and then everyone would have to wait slowly as they were cleared by police and the investigation cleared them.

So i bought my copy of the game on Sunday night, and this morning when i logged in i received this error. Now i understand what this error is telling me however i am confused on how someone could hack my account and login with me only having the account a little over 24 hours …. considering all the AAA mmos i own and play that is insane to me. Even the free mmo’s i have played i was never hacked before, so my question is .. how does area net detect this?

This post is not about getting it resolved i already submitted a ticket (120911-006649) and after reading this forums i am not expecting to get back in anytime soon. I am just curious what kind of system they are using to detect this, and maybe they should use a different method to restore access instead of there support team as they are already over tasked.
