List your SUPER EASY Fixes/Changes!

Some bugs should be super easy to fix, but have gone unaddressed for a long time. Certain tiny quality-of-life changes have been long suggested, but never implemented.

Admittedly, we aren’t all programmers, so we don’t really know if something would be super easy to do or not. But if it seems like it should be something that they should be able to make happen without much effort, then list it here!

Let’s make a compilation for the programmers all in one place of the little stuff we’ve been dying to see taken care of.

  • Remember the CHAT CHANNEL we were last using when we log out and log back in again.
  • Remember our DYE SORTING PREFERENCES (by Hue/Material/Set) when we log out and log back in again.
  • Fix the loud FIREWORKS in Harathi Hinterlands, Dredgehaunt Cliffs, etc. associated with Guild activities, that blows non-participants clear out of their seats from the other side of the zone.
  • Increase Minipet Speed so that they keep up with their owner.
  • Don’t make minipets disappear underwater. If for some reason they must, then make them reappear when you emerge.
  • Put ALL FOUR COMPASS POINTS (N,S, E, W) on the rotating version of the mini map, and designate them “always on top” so they don’t get hidden by other map edge icons.
  • If a “miscellaneous NPC” is standing near a Banker, or a Merchant, or some other “useful NPC”, then make sure he can NOT be interacted with. (How many times have I clicked to open my Storage, and the NPC next to me says “How do you do?”?)
  • Let us be able to DISMISS a “Called Target”. Sometimes they get called by mistake, and the only way to get rid of it is to reselect a white-text creature and kill it.
  • Make Hero Window navigation easier: display the “Equipment / Wardrobe / Dyes” selections as TABS, so you can go there in a single click instead of navigating backwards. (Okay, this one’s a little more involved, perhaps).
  • Re-institute key-binding for instant swap between armor and Outfits.

What other things can you think of that should be SUPER EASY to fix/change?

Post April 15: How to get me Spending Again

in Guild Wars 2 Discussion

Pre April 15th, I spent a lot of real money in the Gem Store. A lot. I mean, several of their employees can probably thank me for their plane trip to China. I liked the occasional toys (the Sonic Tunneling Tool, and the Boxing gloves, etc., may they rest in peace), but mostly it was Town Clothing. I bought lots of individual pieces, and full outfits from which I used individual pieces.

Post April 15th, I’ve been spending next to nothing. I have a huge pile of Gems from my Town Clothing refunds that sits untouched. Mix ‘n’ Match is gone, and Outfits are here. (Supposedly easier and faster to make, but the very first one they released clips with itself on my character. The skirt shows through the sash on her booty). I am not impressed with one-size-fits-all fashion. And I am especially unimpressed when their first offering had issues that have had no sign of being addressed.

If ANet insists on continuing ahead with the “outfit” system, then there is a simple way for them to recover some RP love and start freeing up my wallet again. Give us outfits made up of the old TOWN CLOTHES individual pieces and parts.

The artwork is already there. You play “Mix ‘n’ Match” for us, ANet! You can easily take all of those old already-existing individual pieces, and put them together into hundreds of different combinations for sale cheap. It could easily be a whole new section in the Gem Store. (Like Pokemon, or rabid minipet collectors, there will be people who want to “collect ’em all”!)

And PLEASE go back to giving every character a free “basic” Town Clothes outfit upon character creation. OUTFIT, not tonic! I still pray for the day when all of those clothing tonics you saddled us with become Outfits.

Well poop! I know this wasn’t one of the “big” chests, but I felt better about the Champ bag I got just a little while later. They need to stop REMOVING stuff from this game.

Share your Mix 'n' Match TOWN CLOTHES!

We are apparently about to lose our ability to mix and match town clothes. Let’s show ANet how much we will miss this by showing what creative ideas we’ve come up with and enjoyed for our “down-time” clothing.

It is possible that some of these WILL be able to be replicated under the new system. Most will probably be gone forever. Even if our pleas against this change fall upon deaf ears, then this thread may serve as a fond scrapbook memory of the good old days gone by.

Allow me to begin with poor Bubbles Powderpuff. She will likely be forced to quit her waitressing job at Two-Ters restaurant if she can no longer adhere to the dress code.

Shirt: Dragon Emblem T-Shirt (Becoming a tonic? Noooooo!)
Pants: Khaki Cargo Shorts
Boots: Starter Town Clothing

Nobody Listened!

in Guild Wars 2 Discussion

Don’t blame me!

I tried to bring everybody’s attention to this area months ago with a Warning Buoy. But nobody listened! Everyone just wanted to play “catch the Mermaid”.

Now one of Scarlet’s probes is situated right underneath the rocks that started everything. This could herald the end of one of the prettiest underwater locales in the game on Tuesday the 18th as the Scarlet story approaches it’s climax. Not to mention the possible loss of the reminiscent remnants of old LA. Not to mention horrible changes to NEW Lion’s Arch as we know it.

Next time, don’t be fooled by the blond hair. Bubbles is wise!

Now let’s all pray that we don’t have to listen to that beggar again for several months, looking for funds to rebuild Lion’s Arch.

The Makings of a Lawsuit?

I was taking the guided tour of Tixx’s Infinirarium with a few friends. Like most Asura establishments, there were many mysterious machines there, the purpose of which I could not fathom. But my friend noticed one by chance, that angered me when he pointed it out. I think it gives me a pretty good case for a lawsuit against Tixx. What do you think?

There once was a plant named Scarlet,
Who wanted to be a Guild Wars starlet.
So she abducted the Living Story,
To embellish her glory,
But she only ruined it for all ( that Harlot! )

I am a Toy

in Community Creations

Posted by: Hamfast.8719

Hamfast.8719

My name is Clawfford. I am a Toy.

More precisely, I am a soldier of the Toy Legion. I report to my Tribune, Toymaker Tixx.

During the last Wintersday festival, Tribune Tixx took his flagship on a massive campaign covering the regions of Tyria outside our sphere of influence. Toys infiltrated the capital cities of the Humans, Charr, Asura, Sylvari, and Norn. The instructions were to integrate our kind deeply into their societies, and find people to love and care for us. The goal: become Tyria’s most influential power.

Tixx’s operation succeeded. Many Toys found loving homes, and the rest returned on the flagship to try again next year. Now the people of Tyria cry out for Tixx’s return. But when the campaign was analyzed, it was discovered that not all of the Toys left behind had found a proper home. Were they taken against their will? Did they desert the Legion? Did they simply not make it back to the flagship in time?

This is where I come in. The Tribune created me to round up the missing before Wintersday. The manner of my construction allows me to only operate at night, in order to avoid detection as much as possible. I become an inanimate Toy in full daylight, so I will need to garner assistance from any natives I encounter who seem trustworthy.

This is going to be tricky. Toys are known to wind up in the strangest places, so that is where I will have to look. But if I succeed, the Tribune has promised that he’ll alter me so that I can function in the daytime as well. Armed with a bag full of doll-tectors, I head out for my first destination: the Humans of Divinity’s Reach.

Warning Buoy!

in Guild Wars 2 Discussion

Hamfast.8719

There is a spot in the middle of the Lion’s Arch harbor where a rock lies submerged just below the surface. This is a hazard to navigation, and there is no warning buoy. I am doing my job as a concerned citizen, standing out there waving off ships until the city engineers can either remove the rock or put up a warning.

In the meanwhile, it is getting dark. Could someone please bring out a light, and perhaps a sandwich as well?

Norn Animal-Spirit Town Clothes

in Suggestions

Posted by: Hamfast.8719

Hamfast.8719

Coming into the game from GW1, I expected the Norn to be shape-shifters. Instead, their spirit form lasts what… 30 seconds, with 4 minutes of cooldown? The result of that terrible ratio is that I almost never see any player character Norns use those skills.

How about some Norn-character-only TOWN CLOTHES that let them appear as their spirit animal whenever they wish? (One-piece, like the Pirate uniform. The models are already in place, and we want to make it easy on the artists so that this idea has a chance of being implemented. No Aviators on that werewolf, please!) I suggest mailing each Norn a free set of Animal Spirit Town Clothes based on their personal spirit they chose at character creation.

…Maybe even a Costume Brawl skill set?
