Outfit trend is worrying.

New armor added to the game today – but don’t be happy just yet – it’s an outfit.

This means you either use all of it or none of it.

I dislike the new outfit overall – wouldn’t even wear it – however the helm looks really great and I would love to mix it with some of my other armor options.

But guess what – I can’t.

So what gives? Why are we getting “outfits” instead of armor sets now?
It has the first decent piece of heavy headgear that they gave us since release but there’s no way to get it.

Is this ever going to be changed? I want more armor in the gem store – not outfits.
Is there any way to maybe make it if you unlock the outfit you can use parts of it?

What do you guys think?
Personally I’m sick of the whole “outfit” thing. It kills diversity and just seems like a step in the wrong direction.

Public announcement: Gear stats and roles.

I’ve seen this pop up a huge number of times on the forums I feel that a thread should be made explaining it.

-This is true at least for PVE-

Roles in GW2 are not defined by the gear that you are wearing. You can support and CC just as well wearing any gear because these two “roles” derive from skills and not the gear worn by players.

Gear in this game dictates the pace of gameplay for the individual wearing it:

The more towards damage you spec the less resilient you’ll be.
The tankier you are the less damage you’re going to do.

In the first situation you’re not going to afford to take many hits.
In the second you can unbind your dodge button because you won’t need it.

In a sense players strive to get most bang for their buck so if you can mitigate damage actively( through use of dodging and support) you can forego defensive stats and go full offense. This in a sense is rewarding the player for getting good at the game.

That’s the theory – because more and more players instead of learning and adapting are just filling the forums with requests that something they can’t achieve be nerfed.

Just wanted to put this out there so people will see it and maybe understand.

TL:DR – Zerker has nothing to do with support and control, please leave it alone.

Cheers for anti-zerg philosophy

So glad they took one of the best events of last year and changed it in a way I feel no real desire to participate or do it again.

What a great improvement.

Because people wanted it badly enough to push one of the most unlikable and poorly developed characters to 48% just so they could have that.

A-net – take a minute and think about this. An unlikable, elitist charr that promotes RNG got SO many votes because of the player base wanted the lore behind the Abbadon fractal.
Kiel got all her votes mainly because she was the likable one. She’s a human, a lionguard, and has had a LOT of development during the Living Story chapters. Hell – players have been STUCK with her for two living story chapters. Unlike Evon who is introduced for the first time in a shady posture.

I think this speaks volumes. There are a lot of people who are upset over this – anyone who doesn’t believe it can go check LA chat.

I hope that I’m not alone in saying that the we the players would really love the Abbadon fractal. Hoping others will support this as well.
