Wow, the Norn female styles look like a complete cop-out. It’s pretty much the same style with slightly different bangs and band decorations. The base style is nice, but we didn’t need three of it.
Maybe not reset our hearts , but it would be nice if we could still interact and take part in the heart activities upon revisiting them. For example, if we could pick up a bucket of water to throw at a norn to wake them up during our heart, I think it would be nice if we could still do this after.
When helping other players it’s always nice if you can interact and take part as well.
I agree with this one. Seems silly to cut off your ability to interact with things like that, even if they become pointless to do after you finish the heart.
Agreed, that would be nice. Sometimes I finish hearts with only one facet of the activity (generally combat if a random even spawns with that enemy). It’d be nice to still be able to do the random other bits of the activity afterwards.
Thanks for the video! It answered a lot of the questions I had about how the event worked.
A note that you do get a free new character slot with HoT if you started before January, though. (Unless that has been changed?)
Started before January 23 AND also only if you pre-purchase(not the same as pre-order AFAIK) before HoT release. The extra slot is also not applied immediately, that gets processed on Fridays.
Thanks for the additional info!
There’s hot springs tucked in a corner of the Wayfarer Foothills that I love. I think the springs are beautiful, I love all the trees and snow in the norn areas, there’s wolves nearby if I get bored plus a boisterous norn gent you can start fights with.
It gets a fair amount of traffic since it’s the location for a vista, waypoint and a hero point, so it’s great for people-watching as well.

/Oh my gosh you mean you can actually play keg brawl?!/
I ran across the npcs talking about when I was exploring Hoelbrak and was disappointed I couldn’t do anything. Afterwards I figured it was just flavor-text and never checked back in about it!
Underwater combat isn’t the greatest (though I do like unleashing a swarm of piranha with my spear gun), but some of the underwater areas ARE actually pretty fun to explore / have some neat stuff in them. I like finding underwater tunnels connecting bodies of water. L:
Do I really have to point out rather obvious two facts that are undeniable and real?
1. Charr and Asura already wear Dresses! There are plenty of both that grew up in Lion’s Arch, lore-wise, who do not conform to their traditional society. This can be seen in…
2. Charr and Asura already have gender-dimorphic outfits! Just throw on the Countess Anise outfit—it changes depending if an asura/charr who wears it is male or female.
All I want is gender-dimorphic armor sets. It’s really just a simple extension of what is already present within the game, and a few cultural sets are already dimorphic, so it’s definitely possible within the engine. No one is forcing you to wear anything you don’t want to wear.
The issue is that that if they make Charr and Asura female armor different than the male armor, they’re not going to make a specific “female” set for them, they’re just going to reuse the design they made for the other races. Which means that instead of having a plethora of awesome, useful looking heavy armor for my female Charr I’d be stuck with the small amount of sets which don’t include some ridiculous boob-plate.
I decided to just not wear my chest armor in general and only put it when battling harder foes or doing pvp.
I prefer this look over the trenchcoats completely XD
I’m thinking about doing the same with my male Norn. While the Norn do have a few more options for skimpier male gear, it’s still limited. I gave him these awesome chest tattoos and want to show them off, kitten it!
“As we mentioned yesterday, we will be taking care of those of you who did not get your rewards, so look for those in your in-game mail in the coming days.”
Curious to see if this is actually going to happen, because I’ve had about a 50% rate of actually being able to finish events. And, so wonderfully frustrating, I’m usually kicked out in the last 5-10 minutes, after I’ve invested a fair amount of effort but too late to be able to rejoin and scrounge something last-minute. Really wanted to enjoy this, but kittening hell.
As a newer player, I’ve found it very enjoyable and reasonably usable (a couple things could be explained a little better in-game, but it’s nothing insurmountable).
I don’t know what weird games you’re playing that give you all the abilities and access to all areas right from the start.
Personally, if GW2 had a trinity system I never would have bought it. I really like the freedom the GW2 system provides.
