I’ve had this bug since HoT, maybe longer, but since there are so few cinematics in the game, it’s not something I come across that often.
I have my Windows PC’s default audio output through speakers. I have specified in GW2, however, for my audio device to be my headset. In normal gameplay this works fine with game sound coming through the headset as expected. During cinematics, however, the following occurs:
The speech in the cinematic will continue to play through my headset as expected. The music, however, will play out of my speakers.
If I set the Windows default audio output to headset, and the in-game Audio Device to speakers, then speech will go to the speakers, and music to the headset
If the in-game audio device is set to Default Device, both music and speech will go to the designated Windows audio output path as expected.
I’ve tested this behaviour with the introduction to Fractals cinematic (since it’s easy to replay) but have seen it happen with others, such as the opening and final cinematics of HoT, and the recent Living World 3 airship cinematic

For the last couple of days I have been unable to access characters in Lions Arch. I get the 7:11:191:101 error when accessing any character already in LA, or when bringing any character from elsewhere to LA.
I get the LA load screen, and the background sound effects
the map completion progress text doesn’t come up, though, and after about a minute I disconnect
I’ve had no problems with characters outside of LA
In addition to the problems noted about monthly achievements in this thread: (https://forum-en.gw2archive.eu/forum/support/bugs/Monthly-s-reset) there is an oversite in the Daily Achievements as well
I’m going to have difficulty getting Krytan Dignitary with the pavilion closed and the balloons departed, and, unless the SAB has taken a sinister slant, I doubt I’ll be finding many of Scarlet’s portals for Daily Portal Closer
I think someone needs to take a look at the achievements rotations
Is this something only visible to you or to other players as well? It should just be a display issue; if you relog, it should display correctly.
On another note, if you know how to consistently cause this issue to occur, we’d be very interested in hearing about it. Thanks, and I hope this helps!
This was like being on completely different maps, save for a couple of points
- Points per tick were different
- The ownership of keeps, towers and camps were different, and their state were not affected by the actions of players on mirrored versions
- Map, and Team chat were isolated to the particular map verison
- In one version of the map the sentry flags were grey, as was their capping circles, and I was able to claim a couple of sentry locations from this state
Party member blue dot indicators did show on map, so I could see where the members of my party were, and they see my indicator, but we could not see each other’s characters in game even when the map indicated we were right next to each other. They could map to waypoints in keeps that showed as owned by our server to them, but were a different colour for me. The party character portraits were blacked out
Leaving WvWvW and coming back could result in you coming back into a different version of the map. Whilst my party stayed in the one map i left to LA, as well as closing the client completely, and failed to be placed in the veriosn of the SOS borderland they were in. I saw at least 2 different versions of that map in my tries, in addition to the one my party mates were in.
When those party members ported to the PVP Mists area, and back to WvW they came into the version of the borderland i was in.
Different people get different things out of WvW. For me there’s some immediate goals, successes and losses.
I enjoy playing in a Havoc group; 4 or 5 of us sneaking behind enemy lines to flip camps, and draw their forces.
I enjoy defending keeps or camps, manning the walls and the siege, and seeing the satisfaction of holding out against the attack
I enjoy running with a good commander in a large group, whether it’s besieging a tower or fighting a similar force in the open field, trying to keep with your server, whilst breaking up the opposition zerg
There’s the tactical play as well; feints and bluffs, yak attacks to starve a tower of supply; dummy catapults to draw out defenders, trying to sneak golums across the map without being spotted
WvW is, however a long game. You will win camps and towers, and lose them, and win and lose over and over. There is an ebb and flow in the maps, and the final consequence is the PPT. Come Friday who held their captured sites that bit longer? Who reclaimed their lost locations that bit faster?
Sure there are good times and bad. Running on a map where commanders are at crossed wires and the opposition are wiping the floor with you is disconcerting. Loosing a camp, or tower, or even garrison when you’d just upgraded is painfully disheartening. I’ve had evenings where I’ve ragequit the map at the frustration of our failures, yet we log in the next day and we go full on honeybadger and claim it all back.
What’s the point of WvW? Well it’s different things for different people. for me it’s lots of different ways to have fun with friends

Jade Quarry welcomes Tribe [TRB] to our server from SBI.
We look forward to seeing you, as well all our recent arrivals in the coming weeks
I’d be interested to know how much you were expecting for a free, monthly update.
Monthly update….? It’s been 3 months since launch and this is the first update. And just cos I didn’t pay upfront for it doesn’t mean it came free. Their salaries are still paid by the box sets and gems we continue to buy.
If you consider what you get for your money. $60 or what ever it was in your own currency. Compare that to other game genres on the market. Any AAA title RPG, or FPS etc. You get 20-30 hours of gameplay if you’re lucky and then nickle and dimed on DLCs and map packs.
Of course they’re making money, the question is, are you getting your money’s worth?
100+ hours of gameplay even before this latest release, and then a new map, new puzzles, new dungeon with multiple paths, new skins , new story with no necessity to pay any more than I have done already. I feel I’ve got my money’s worth, and anything they add from here on out is a bonus
We’re paying customers? Well yes, we bought the game, but I’ve already got my money’s worth before this content update, and I’m not paying a subscription.
As for the suggestion above of staggering the final event, wouldn’t work through staggering by server, since there are only 2 server locations. Sure the oceanic players have adopted certain servers, but since their are no official designation you’d still get upset players who had to miss out.
GW1 had 3 hourly repeats for events, though that works better when the event only lasts 30 minutes at a time. Not so straight forward when the event takes 2 hours + to complete
I don’t think there is a straight forward solution and Anet are going to upset some people no matter what option they choose. They chose a time where the most number of players are on at any one time.
I am using a Logitech G510 keyboard, with the GW2 applet installed, and running Logitech Gaming Software 8.30.
I didn’t have this problem in the BWE events. However since live, whenever the game loses focus, either from alt-tab, clicking outside the window in windowed mode, or even if the computer switches to screensaver, my keyboard loses most its functionality, but only for Guild Wars 2
I lose any response from the keys for movement, menus, skills etc. I can type in the text box of chat, if it is opened with the mouse, but enter isn’t recognized. I can link items from inventory into chat, however. Mouse functionality is unaffected.
Keyboard function can only be restored by by restarting the game client, as far as I’ve been able to to tell. I have tested with the Logitech software switched off, and get the same behaviour
Any thoughts/suggestions
