Would be great
Hello everyone!
Seeing that the cosmetic part of the game is a dominant one, I couldn’t resist thinking of an achievement related to dyes. Basically all the dyes in-game with the exception of future dyes like/and and Flame & Frost.
According to wiki: So far, 404 different dyes have been discovered, though only 403 can be learned at this time (abyss red dye is no longer in game) including the starter dyes.
So what we could have is a cap on 404 dyes, rewarding one with the title Colourful.
I hope there are more out there that would enjoy seeing this in-game ^~^
There really is enough space for everything, u have to get very very far to get ’’You’re leaving the instance area’’ message. You can make a circle around your enemy, or even die, since u continue the quest almost where u left off…
and it warns you that you’re leaving the instance u dont get kicked right when the message appearsBtw im playing necro and your argument is invalid.
Not my experience during the Romke’s Final Voyage personal story… you didn’t have more than a second before getting kicked out, in all honesty why the hello kitten would I come here to make a post if I had several seconds and so forth?
And saying something that my argument is invalid is just socially off put….. fyi.
Ok so straight on to the point, what is wrong with the system with map boundaries?
I understand the idea, but the punishment and the TIME from when you get the message “you are leaving an instance area” is just stupid without any more to say. As a necromancer you tend to use your dart poison skill a lot, and it tight water areas I gotta say it’s gone past annoying already. You have a second or so before you get kicked from the whole kittening story for doing a minor movement mistake. What is the point? Why is this so simplified to the point where you would wonder if this was some fresh startup free to play MMO with kittens all over. Advance the system with map boundaries during personal story and for Grenths sake let it be more than a second or two.
So as the title goes..
My specs are as following:
- Gigabyte G1.Sniper 3, Socket-1155
- Gainward GeForce GTX 670 2GB PhysX CUDA
- Corsair HX 1050W PSU
- Corsair H100 Hydro Series CPU cooler
- Intel® Core i7-3770K Processor
- Corsair Dominator DHX DDR3 1600MHz 12GB
- OCZ SSD Agility 4 Series 2.5" 128GB (the location of the game)
I’am yet experiencing stuttering elsewhere as well, just not to the same degree. To expain my situation with minimum use of words: LA is literally a movie for me with a lot of breaks, featuring a slideshow of pictures that are rapid.
My internet is stable at 70 Mbps so..
Thanks in advance
i feel your pain holy shadow i do cause maybe i should have said but ive also had this before alot!!
which is why i was so pissed it was back again, and not to mention everytime it happens its not good for your machine.
Ah sorry to hear that it was that serious :/
The worst thing I personally feel now is that Anet seems to push this beneath a carpet or something. A LOT (ofc not the majority) are having the issues, but they are not responding in any form at all, it’s like their wish for a fluent game is more important than what reality is giving us. I just can’t play, it’s simple as that. And is there any sign of help out there? No ofc not, we gotta troubleshoot everything there is and come up with OUR POSSIBLE MISTAKES, like “get a new CPU” etc. just bullkitten, everything.
Its your CPU.
2 reasons
1) You cpu is slow clock speed wise for a AMD and only has 2 cores.
2) Your cpu is AMD, and GW2 has issue with ‘most’ AMD cpu’sYou have 3 choices
1)OC
2)Buy a new intel cpu & OC
3)Wait and hope for a super-optimisation patch (unlikely)
1 – Captain dork move, lowering the CPU’s lifespan.
2 – No lots of intel high-end CPU’s are having problems so stop giving out wrong advices.
3 – Indeed most unlikely, but again – this or leave this game for a time imho. That’s what I’am doing
I love the tips here, all are targetting the user instead of the contributor lol…
This is disgusting i have been playing with these crashes since last patch and for anet to say its a personnel problem makes me just lol THIS IS NOT A CLIENT PROBLEM fix it or lose people enough said game is unplayable when you have to reboot whole machine in SAFE MODE!!! Infact your damaging peoples machines.
Am i the only one who is disgusted its been over 2 weeks???
I’m disgusted that you rage this hard over a thing that has been here for two weeks. I’ve had a pile of technical issues, including this since the very first BWE.. so please get a hold of yourself I can’t log in to GW2 without my gfx crashing on me, and it’s only happening here so again it’s a problem on their end. Hilarious-

Things are just getting worse by each day. Though it varies, everything tend to crash faster. I can log-in and play 5 minutes, then suddenly my screen turns black and I have to force-restart my pc. I CAN’T DO THIS TOO MANY TIMES, IT’S HONESTLY A HORRIBLE THING TO DO, CONSIDERING YOUR MESSING YOUR HARDWARE. So to put it short, I’ll have to GIVE UP GW2 as of now, as I don’t want to kitten up my computer because of these horrible technical issues which are obviously on Anet’s dirty hands now. We are not responsible for this, get a grip and give out some feedback guys, really. I heard that it was being investigated for about a month ago, that’s pretty weak considering its serious impact it strikes the ones that are affected.
Sorry for putting it like this but I’am glad I’m not the only one! I built my first rig which I personally dedicated to GW2, and purchased with that the Geforce 670 Phantom card, and guess what – I got the very same problems! The sound increases ONLY when playing GW2 lol, I can play Crysis 2 etc. and other MMOs on max without that sound rising.. :/
OK this needs a bump, I’m getting tired of this endless technical trainwrecks of issues.
It doesn’t matter anymore, if I lower the settings or not. IT WILL IN THE VERY END CRASH AND LIKE “PROBLEM 3” FOLLOW ITS FINE LINE. What’s different is that the time before the crash turns out to be longer, so I can actually play looking at terrible quality, for a longer period of time before everything goes down the drain.
Join the club of endless technical issues

I guess I’ll just have to live with this. It’s bs tho. I get 57-78 fps in bf3 on ultra in 64player matches and even more fps in other games. oh well. At least AMD has one game where their cards work better.
It is indeed bad. Geforce 670 Phantom here, invested a lot of money into my first rig which was dedicated for GW2. And the game fails at optimalization for Nvidia.. I just can’t believe it
No harm meant but with the current way this game is handling end-game rigs.. not at all.
This might sound horrible, but I’m glad I’am not alone on this. I’am having the exact same issues you’re having now, and to be honest, IF you want to keep playing without hurting your hardware, turn everything down to the lowest. It looks like trash but you should be able to play.
What I had before this total-crash sillyness, was the FPS-drops that occured several times a day, which really put everything out of the fun perspective. I’ve also had ontop of that, the unstable twitches the game makes when you turn, but that’s a minor problem compared to the rest.
My pc is 2 months old, and my first rig ever built and invested in.. the amount of money I spent in it is unspeakable, it’s all Anet’s fault after all, I can tell you that. No other game is really bringing this up so.
I’ll most likely be leaving the game for a while. Being a GW fan since day 1 isn’t really helping that but, what else can we do? Things are messed up as of now. And they’ve been so for me since the very first BWE. I’am just tired :/
Oh you too? Join the club, the club of which noone knows why they’re a member of…
It’s just a pity, I’m thinking of leaving everything as it is, and come back next year really :c
You’re lucky matey, if I only had those issues. Do you know what I’ve been lucky to get into NOW?
(I had the same issues you have I believe, since the very first BWE. My FPS would burst-drop and I had to alt-tab and surf the web for it to go over. WE’re talking about high-end pc’s, a lot of them, that got to deal with such pity foolishness, and THIS IS NOT HAPPENING on any other game for Grenths sake. Crysis 2 is silky smooth!)
At max settings, this is what happens:
- My screen turns black.
- A weird sound, a really worrying one, appears out of nowhere.
- My screen tries to locate the right input I believe (HDMI, Analog, Digital etc.) and constantly looping doing so.
- Everything keeps running, but well, there is no solution so.
- My keyboard won’t respond, if problems weren’t already embracing me…
The only solution to this is to crash-restart my whole computer, and just play GW2 at very very low. Despite investing nearly €3,000 in my very first rig, for GW2, and internet ofc.
Thanks a bunch

if my driver crashes, it recovers automatically and it resets to it’s normal voltage/clock speed after a screenfreeze followed by a short blackscreen
happened to me a few times while testing different OC settings – in-game and at the desktop screenso blackscreen issues might be a driver crash, but not the FPS drops…other users must have noticed and also reported the short freeze/blackscreen before a FPS drop
Keep in mind though, your gpu is fermi, TC’s is Kepler and it’s different architecture with gpu boost clocks, dynamic voltage etc. So it might very well be fps drop due to driver crash if card remains in low power state afterwards or it could also be safty measure. These cards needs to be kept below 72c as thats the first thermal threshold for determining power state.
Glad to see more people that are trying to help out here
My card doesn’t go above 40 degrees, the cooling is very fluent here and my card has an in-built cooler as well so. It can go to 50 but we’re talking about massive LA situations..
I don’t think OC is the solution. It’s a knee jerk reaction by many in this forum. Your problem is an intermittent drop right? So look for intermittent causes if possible.
In my experience, when it comes with gaming, we are the first line of defense, so to speak. If google does not offer up advice, than the next step is self diagnosis. Customer support is limited in my experience.
One thought is to try disabling everything you can think of on startup, and try running like that. If that does not solve the problem, keep everything disabled you can, and start looking for uneeded processes. Using google and taskmgr, and trial and error, you can often determine if a process is really needed, and if not kill it. This is assuming the problem is caused by a running process interfering with the game. If it’s not that, then hardware is the next potential cause I can think of.
This is quite a widespread problem and issue that a pretty large portion of GW2’s players are currently struggling with, and a lot have been doing so for a long long time.
I would eliminate hardware tbh, as it should have shown up in other games too, am I right or? There is not a single other active task running on my computer when playing GW2, which can run if you know what I mean =)
But yeh, I’ll go ahead and investigate this with the whole editing and everything that follows. Thank you for your time…
Two.. people working at such an important aspect, of a game of this size. Two.
Ok so really, OC my CPU is the solution? That’s beyond acceptable, it lowers your CPU’s lifespan for Grenths sake. I doubt it is my cooling system, 8 fans and everything, everything on max. As I’ve stated earlier, this is GW2, not some super-high-end game running Dx11 etc. It’s not showing up elsewhere.
I guess I’ll have to manually sort this out, if they can’t even approach us with some positive movement, we’ll have to do it ourselves…
Had them since BWE1, and they’ve just increased in amount.
Ok so this should really be on their to-do list more than anything, technical issues above content in my opinion.
I normally run GW2 with about 50-60 FPS, I know most will think that’s good numbers but I don’t fully think so. This computer was specifically built for GW2, my first one, and is compound by the following parts:
- Gigabyte G1.Sniper 3, Socket-1155
- Gainward GeForce GTX 670 2GB PhysX CUDA
- Corsair HX 1050W PSU
- Corsair H100 Hydro Series CPU cooler
- Intel® Core i7-3770K Processor
- Corsair Dominator DHX DDR3 1600MHz 12GB
- OCZ SSD Agility 4 Series 2.5" 128GB (the location of the game)
I do experience some slight adjustment problems, which happens every hour. This has to do with simply moving my direction in a quick way, which tends to “lag” the movement for a short period of time. Not quite sure if this is some optimalization problems or so, but well that’s not too big of a deal for the time being,
My main problem is that the game drops about every 2nd hour, from 40-50+ FPS, to about 10, and very often below 10, my screen turns black right before this FPS-drop engages, and then back on. This puts me in an unplayable situation, as I simply cannot do anything, everything moves just too slow. The only solution to this which I’ve found is to minimize the game and start browsing the net or something, then come back some minutes later.
A 2nd “main” problem which occurs slightly on more rare occasions, has to do with a CPU increasement which tends to go from about 10%-25% working capacity to about 80%. Nothing will respond when that situation is up and going, and I have to ctrl+alt+delete the whole operation and just restart.
ALL of these parts are 2 months old, and this NEVER happens with anything else I do. Crysis 2 etc. – perfectly smooth not a drop in the ocean that can be realated to technical issues. No other game, no MMO, just Guild Wars 2. So it cannot be hardware related, imho.
I’am using the Nvidia 310.54 drivers atm, all are up-to-date.
As the topic states, this has been an ongoing problem which has followed me from the very first BWE, so I’m starting to get a bit worried. I know for a fact that I’am not alone, and it is kinda a bit more disturbing considering that I stand greatly above the computer requirements :-/
I hope my post haven’t been too negative, I’m a truly dedicated GW fan and this is after all the only MMO I considering myself active within so. I just wish it could run smoother, as that’s what I personally notice the most when I play =)
EDIT:
Ok so here is something new which I’ve discovered…
The game on maximum settings is what actually makes this whole crash appear, and tbh now I’m really worried becasue it has limited itself to my 2nd problem:
- Screen turns black
- A weird sound appears out of nowhere, really worrying sound tbh..
- The PC never shuts down, keeps running
- My screen then goes tries then to locate my input settings, like digital, HDMI, analog etc. and looping while doing that.
- I cannot use my keyboard, as in caps/num, nothing will respond.
- The only way to resolve this is sadly to crash-restart the whole thing.
I also want to inform that the whole CPU increase cannot really be verified as of now, the crash appears out of nowhere and it is really impossible to state if that has to do with the CPU. So one can say that this is a 3rd form of technical problem…
What is interesting though is that this appear on maximum settings (keep in mind my specs…). I checked it out earlier tonight, while exploring the new content, and I seriously had 100 FPS with a lot of people around me, and then ofc, it all shut itself black.
EDIT:
It now appears that no matter what setting it’s turned onto, it will crash in the very end. The difference is that I can play with low settings for a longer period of time before everything goes black and as stated above happens.
However, when lowering them to the minimum requirement, this never occurs, at all. So yeh, I’m lost really. My first rig dedicated to this game, and a whole new internet, all for GW2. Please, don’t tell me that I have technical and hardware related issues, please :c
Sincerely,
Fume.

Guys, try turning down you sound quality in the game settings and see if that fixes it.
Won’t change a thing, even with my master volume at minimum this goes on, just what exactly is it o_o
I keep getting this constantly! I have no clue on what this might be, I’m using both Corsair headphones and speakers.
I somewhat agree with the whole OP but seriously, why DO people keep saying “free to play”?! This is not Nexon and Maple Story, this is Guild Wars (2) and ArenaNet for the love of Tyria… You buy the game and play it for free, you don’t play it for free from the very start. It’s a clear difference :@
