what are ascended/infused gear, whats fotm? favorite of the month?

Hello, I started playing when the game first came out, it got bored so a bunch a friends, including me, just quit.

When we were playing, we were just farming event in orr / do daily instances,
is there anything new to do now? New way to farm karma?

just anything new really…

I suppose this is the 3rd iteration of people whining about the Godskull exploits. The iteration that apparently can’t even remember the proper name of the item anymore because it was so far back in time.

Not really caring about whether its god skull or gold skull but more about how people exploited it and now bashing poeple who find it too difficult to get the precursors with legitimate ways

Too bad I’ve already publicly posted how I made my money, selling tens of thousands of Carrion Krait Slayers to people too lazy to level Weaponsmithing + crafting world’s first Triforge Pendant and investing in the mats before releasing the pictures on official forums.

Among investing and crafting in many other items.

But yeah, keep lumping everyone who is successful at making money in the game as an exploiter: I’m sure it’ll somehow improve your own abilities.

Yep dude, i also happened to have a guildie who made a precursor on 2nd try dude. Everyone can make stories, how did you come up with the gold to make the triforce in the first place :o, obviously not godskull. No point you being here to discourage people from trying to get their precursors in their own way. Your posts in regard to this situation is not constructive.

What’s the deal?

1.Help the community realize how hard it can be to obtain precursore if you didn’t exploit the god skull?

2.Feel more self-entitled to have legendary badge?

3.Feel there’s no need to kitten around on forum but to help the people?

Maybe people dont want to farm up days and days of gold just to give someone who exploited the MF in the beginning of the game. Maybe they want to feel more accomplished?

I think I am just gonna leave this game after I spend all my gold on precursor. Instead of doing something to this absurd MF system, you are ignoring it.

ArenaNet’s main flaw was probably expecting people to understand how probability works. It’s perfectly reasonable to see you won’t always get the same drop rate from the Mystic Forge – “random”, remember? Having a 50% chance for something doesn’t mean it will happen on the second try.

I bet you dont dare to challenge authorities, for example try to prove your professor wrong.

When you have been doing the same thing for the past few weeks, and been getting steadily same results. You know when something is wrong. Hard to understand?

The chance for a precursor drop is too small right now, and anet HAS acknowledged this, and has stated that something will be changed, not willing to find a source for that atm. Since that is the current state of things, anyone who willingly gambles 1500 level 80 rare greatswords, knowing that the droprate is too small as stated by Anet, is simply too stupid to deserve to keep those 1500 greatswords. In an unrelated note, thank you for financing this game for us.

Any official response i could find thats related to this issue is

“We’ve seen players discussing the topic of crafting legendary precursor weapons and claiming that we’ve made changes to make this more difficult. We’d like to be clear that we did not make any across the board changes to reduce the drop rate, nor was it our intention to significantly increase the difficulty in acquiring these precursor weapons.
We did fix a few bugged recipes that were rewarding Legendary precursors more often than they should have been. These recipes were mostly using Rares in the level 70-75 range and mostly affected the precursors for the greatswords and the dagger. This has had some effect on the drop rate when using lower level rares to attempt to get a precursor but it was never intended for that to be the best way of acquiring these weapons. The recipes for throwing in level 80 exotics have not changed at all.
We have been watching the prices climbing on Legendary precursors and share your concerns about some of them becoming too expensive. We will continue to monitor the situation and will make any adjustments we feel are necessary.”

yes i crafted my own 80 carrion / traveler shields,
i merged at least 7 times today, each time i merged 18~23 shields, because that’s how many inventory spaces I have. I guess i overestimated by a bit, but doesnt change the fact that % has definitely been changed, Because every18~23 I merged days ago, i get 1~2 exotics almost certainly.

They were never supposed to be an option for most players in the first place. Maybe if people spent less time complaining on the forums, they could put forth some effort into actually making a legendary. Crazy idea, I know.

yeah threw in another 23 shields, got kittening 0 exotics,

I don’t know about anyone else, but afaik, in guild or real life, people are quitting this game.

I have been trying to get The Chosen since 2 weeks ago. I have thrown in at least 500 rares. I was fine with getting no precursor because I could actually make some profit off the exotics I got. (about 1 every 4 merges)
It had always been like that until today.

AGAIN, ALWAYS, I didn’t take any ss or anything, but I can show you that all the money I had was ~12gold, and I could sell off exotics I got and until today I had ~20 gold.

I spent ~8 gold into materials, that’s like ~200 shields. I got absolutely no exotics.
This has never happened before.

I think I am just gonna leave this game after I spend all my gold on precursor. Instead of doing something to this absurd MF system, you are ignoring it.

Theres a glitch in cof magg run? You can jump across the door while magg planting bomb? what about the chest after door xploded? can you explain this glitch so everyone knows so we can report people who exploits it?
