we can kill in seconds and we get kill in 2shots too.. we give defence for offence.. u can do it too.. a warrior can do it too but the warrior will still have better defence than a thief.. so shall we nerf all classes so they dont spec glass cannon ? and make sure everyone use a fair spec so no 1 get 2 – 3 shotted to death.

There has been a lot of controversy surrounding the mesmer portal, and more recently, thieves using stealth to block capping camps. While there has been a great outcry to limit or remove these abilities from wvw, I am going to argue that they should stay, and more importantly, more of these such abilities should be added.
Before portals started getting used en-masse, wvw largely consisted of running two giant zergs into eachother, and whichever had the greater numbers or more siege would win. While numbers still are the main deciding factor for who wins wvw, smaller groups are able to win against larger forces using superior tactics, many of which revolve around the portal. Portals allow a group to move around at extreme speeds and give superior flanking ability to said group. The advantage of portal bombing/flanking is having the element of surprise and that’s it. Before you start complaining about invisible armies, I remind you that if you can’t see them, they most likely cannot see you. Also, if you are organised, you CAN shut down portal bombs 9 times out of 10 with equal or greater numbers (if you are really organised you can do it while outnumbered, but success is more situational). People who complain about always getting destroyed are usually a part of an unorganised zerg, and in that case, you should be losing to a organised attack every time. The point I’m trying to make here is that portals add a lot to the metagame, and they are balanced because they are counterable.
I have the same argument for the thief’s ability to use stealth to block camps from being capped. It is an awesome tactic that counters unorganised zergs, but can easily be stopped by a little bit of organization. Again, it adds to the metagame.
The only real issues with portals/stealth is the rendering issues in wvw, but we should not get rid of such awesome abilities because of it, as ArenaNet will fix rendering in the future (hopefully).
So the real problem in wvw is mesmers and thieves are a must if you want to do well in wvw. This is completely true. The solution to this; however, is not to get rid of or limit these abilities but to add gamechanging abilities to all the classes so they can all be just as important and have a role in wvw. Right now, mesmers (portal, temporal curtain, feedback, timewarp), thieves (stealth, the spinning move with stupid amounts of AoE DPS), and guardians (sanctuary, wall of reflection, staff line, endless amounts of retaliation and stability) are all super important classes. To a lesser extent you could say necros with their mass condition abilities, elementalists as the walking siege cannons, and perhaps engies with grenades and mortars (is engie mortar as powerful as the ones built in keeps?) are also super important, but not quite on the same scale. This leaves out ranger and warrior, although I am sure they have skills they bring to the table as well. So if these other classes were given important skills, roles would become more prominent and the metagame of wvw would improve.
tl;dr – Portals and stealth stopping capping add a lot to the metagame. Instead of trying to get these abilities removed, we need ArenaNet to add more gamechanging abilities to the other classes to bring them up to par.

the dolyaks are fine.. dolyak are important npc to the whole supply chain for keeps, tower and stonemist. its how players fight for it to prevent or to make sure the dolyak reaches its objective thus making it very vulnerable. The problem is not with the dolyak, its the rendering issue with thief stealth. so if the dev fixed the issue.. u wouldnt have this problem again. And Npc guards is never enough to just escort dolyaks especially when one server have just capped stonemist you shouldnt expect easy delivery of supplies. you have to fight for it to reach its destination. that is what make’s wvwvw fun when we capture Stonemist, The challenge to maintain SM

To whom it may concern,
HOD will likely win this match for the same reason it has always won previous matches: higher off hour population.
Individual player skill and guild coordination will only get you so far in Guild Wars 2. Given the choice between highly skilled guilds and off hours population, off hours population wins every time. The departure of TA from Henge will merely highlight this issue. Numbers during the early morning, particularly during the weekdays have always been Henge’s main strength. In the last two match ups ET has beaten Henge during the weekends (when we have some night presence to field) and generally will lose ground during the week.
Even absent some of TA’s guilds HOD’s night capping will generally win out on points.
Beyond that JQ/ET must focus what player resources they can on Henge if they have any hope of gaining a significant enough point buffer to make any difference.
That said the server match up system provides no tangible rewards beyond bragging rights and has the effect of at least providing for a more competitive pvp environment which at the very least is far more entertaining than spawn camping ghost town servers.
These issues are ultimately up to Arenanet to address. Many WvW/RvR games have developed counters to these issues: Off hours buffs to under-populated servers and “reinforced modes” to prevent or limit night capping. In Warhammer Online it was literally impossible to capture empty zones, as player kills in the zone were the major source of points towards zone flipping.

fyi, 10/16 ex TA guilds are still in HOD .. do not call victory so fast.. its still the 2nd day of the match.

ta isn’t the whole or even a huge part of HoD. HoD is a huge bandwagon server that gained popularity from the TA videos that they put out… it was a great PR move… make an epic looking video to attract as many people as possible. bring your mostly european/oceanic/asian pacific guilds over to an NA server and advertise that you are some sort of great set of players.
and then the rest falls into place when the bandwagon hits like a rock.
sorry to say TA, but you guys said it yourselfs, you aren’t a huge force, and you didn’t carry GoM anywhere, because as soon as TA left the server, so did all your bandwagoners lol. you are simply a commander icon on a map, attracting massive pugs.

HoD was one of the 3 lowest populated servers at launch, it’s now #1.. Your point?
actually, I’ll give you couple points
1. HoD population was low only during 3 day early launch. When I finally got 80 and moved at end of week 1 (or was it beginning of week 2), it was already high/locked
2. You made a good call to mesmer portal golems at the right time on tue to retake SM. You deserve every bit of credit for that, but that has absolutely nothing to do with your guild or alliance, or all that nightcapping "strategy"you talked about.
Or let me rephrase that. You would of gotten the same support with or without SYN and PRX in EB that night. Everyone understood to get SM back by all means was the only way to come back on score, and we were (had been) trying everything. We fought in the lord room for 2 hours on that 1 siege kitten how much of that effort was made by your alliance?3. since last match, you had declared you’d be in boarderland, and you had done just that. How have we been doing in EB this match so far, without you? and without your alliance? We been crushing them, in case you didn’t know, while boaderlands are only getting equal in early morning.
This morning, when we had 9 towers 2 keep and ALL supplies in EB, potential score was only 310 (and 295 at one point). Now answer me why was that? Where was your alliance and YOU in boarderlands?

LoL this is a joke right? HoD got smacked around so hard for 3 days straight when the server rematched happened in the weekend. TA is crap… I see guilds like PRX, RMA , Armata, TRG… getting steam rolled by puggers smaller than what they run out in the field. You might be organized as a whole alliance etc or server… but to kid yourself that all the Asian/Oceanic or whoever is doing your nightcapping is saving your sorry kitten from falling of your high horses. So until TA can prove they can win without all them nightcappers over the weekdays yeah you guys are nothing but a big joke with just a lot of people.
Lets face the facts that your prime-time is mediocre at best. I find it kinda funny a lot of the HoD prime-time people take all the credit away from the very people that are making you guys the number one server…which is the absurd amount of asian/oceanic players you have in WvW when majority of the players are asleep. Infact the guilds that aren’t even in TA are probably the most organized out of all HoD.

Yes, cause holding slightly less than 1/3 of the points over 3 days on a weekend while getting constantly hammered on two fronts is the definition of “getting smacked around.”

No bloody server can take up 2 server facing against them.. It’s not easy.. Look at Jq.. After getting focus by sbi n hod in last week match… They went straight down.. Look at all other server did get pound 2v1 … No server can even try to attack at that point of time.. N if u look at hod getting pound kitten couple of days n still fighting back sitting at 160pts – 180pts.. It’s already not very bad.. It is they did not complain abt it but they keep fighting.. On Monday.. American time.. Hod got Sm frm sbi.. And when sbi n et attacking Sm from both side.. Fail to get it back.. They start to log off.. Think… When et vs SOS n IOj.. They have superb strong oceanic presence.. So where is the presence now? Don’t get blinded by rage n shoot ppl down for no reason.. Unless u are a troll.. Than u shall continue

I knw they have oceanic crew too.. Et population is medium but they have high concentrated wvwvw players.. Ruin alone can fill up 2-3 maps.. With AA oceanic guild.. It’s 4 maps now.. So u should ask them y did they not log in to def ???

TA prepared for the war.. when the game launch.. those who night cap others were happy abt it till they get their retribution when facing HOD.. so now here it goes.. they said its unfair .. they said HOD has imbalance population.. they said HOD everything bad abt HOD..
I remb most of the poster said.. “24hrs match are worthless. lets wait for 1-2weeks matches and we will knw who the true victor is” now none of them is victorious.. so here comes another saying from the poster “1 week match are worthless to play.. the only the 48hrs match are worth to count victories” g

I find JQ a challenging server but not tier 1, they were behind a lot at potential points all weekend.
They definitely had a zerg last night during oceanic though, I thought CD had a good oceanic pop but we don’t hold a candle to JQ.

the difference here is the passion to win and play to win :P Henge has a grp of organize team that are playing to win .. and of cause, “Passion to log in” u have to set this up in ur community too.. so dont drag anet into this :P

Try looking in the bottom left and seeing the under water gate is broken and they went in that way.

I don’t think he’s from hod.. We had a low lvl ruin gaming char in eb Yesterday, we took a screen shot of him and stalk him till he port out of eb.. He is there doing gathering n standing Along the path frm Klovan to golanta.
Prec/ condition DMg/toughness.. And a mix of carrion set… And rampager if u want
Get 4 piece from ruins of Orr.. Mixed it with carrion and rampager pieces.. That shld do the trick
