I was doing champ farming and can honestly say that farming lol 80 risen on my lonesome is faster and more lucrative.
You think it’s a beginner guide because they never play the class and that’s all they know about it?
This isn’t a suggestion, this is a statement of fact based upon the terms and conditions of the forum.
The suggestion form. Your making suggestions on how to change the warrior, hence the suggestion forum.
ANET recently revised their warnings of trolling so why exactly are they allowing people to post in a class forum that the class should be nerfed? Surely be definition, these posts are designed to cause conflict and upset people.
As such, ANET should be closing these threads and issuing those people with warnings. There is a suggestions forum, that kind of chat should be reserved for that area only – but allowing numerous people to post countless “nerf warrior” posts in the class forum read by warriors, is only encouraging trolls in the first place.
What would stop me making numerous posts in other forums calling for a nerf? Nothing. As such, something needs to be done to bring order to these forums.
Suggestions for nerfs should be in the suggestions area only. Everything else is just trolling.
Your argument is flawed and its clear you are too narrow minded to make any constructive suggestions. If your argument is that warrior is the only viable class, then clearly the problem is that the other classes are not viable and need to be buffed accordingly.
If you nerf the only viable class, then you have no viable classes – this is the flaw in your argument.
It’s not that warrior needs a nerf, it’s a brilliant class.
The problem is more that most of the other classes need a buff and more viable build options. Warrior has a lot of viable builds, most other classes have barely any
There will be nothing we won’t be awesome at. ANet clearly play warrior and I’m just waiting for them to add a skill that grants perma stealth.
Your text is so hilarious. Not so long ago it was “ANet clearly doesn’t play warrior”.
I play warrior and honestly I never had an issue in the past when we were pretty sucky in PvP – because I don’t play PvP.
As such the recent buffs and variety of useful and effective builds is all good by me, and the commentary from ANET themselves only goes to show this.
Sadly I also think there will be that day that always happens, ANET will get bored of warrior, try another class, realise how crap it is and buff it silly while needing the warriors that keep owning them.
Then in 9 month time, they will have returned to warrior and started to buff it again. So long as they don’t touch my rifle, I’m happy (there’s also the level 80 for all other class types to fall back on lol)
Pick a weapon (it doesn’t matter which) pick some skills (it doesn’t matter which) and put some traits wherever you want (doesn’t matter where). Job done
Enjoy the ANET love, succeed and know that even on your bad days, you’re still a winner.
I think we’re missing the reason for this. Consider the following:
When new people join the game this late, they are not the die-hard GW1 people or even the people tempted over from WoW, they are the newer, casual gamers.
What do these gamers play? Why they play the likes of Ranger, Warrior and Elementalist as stylised on TV and films.
Ranger gets a buff to the one thing these casual gamers will need in the first few levels, a really tanky pet. Game seems easy, appealing and as such, they stay. Warrior is already renown for easy-mode and Elementalist – well most new people to the game will go straight for that staff which also got a buff.
They didn’t balance any class for fairness, they balanced ranger as ANET consider it a newbies class. This is why they buffed the pets in PvE only and also why nobody there plays as a ranger or represents the class effectively – newbies don’t watch that kind of stuff and the rest are just the silent majority
I don’t play pvp and I stick with the Zerg in WvW so keep that in mind.
I’ve used rifle since I started a year ago and still do with sword and shield as backup. Although its not quite as awesome as it once was, it’s still quite capable of melting an HP pool in a very short amount of time from a good distance, and the cripple (immobilise if traited) linked with F1 have a real surprise for some who have no idea who is shooting them (Zerg remember).
There will be nothing we won’t be awesome at. ANet clearly play warrior and I’m just waiting for them to add a skill that grants perma stealth.
Minigun would be awesome. I’d return to engineer just to use is
Oops, I had the ranger forum open, move please admin
Rangers ftw!
I have hit 80 on a guardian, warrior, ranger and engineer while being 75 on my ele.
At no point have I been driven to push for my legendary however as sadly I think the lot of them are a little lacklustre, and ironically enough, common due to a lack of variety.
My ranger is quickly turning into my favourite for example and I’m a human male (literally). The idea of leaving a path of flowers, firing to birdsong or in my short bows case, firing unicorns and leaving rainbow footprints is all just a little “musical theatre” for my tastes.
If I was a 12 year old girl then yeah, rainbows and unicorns are great but otherwise it’s a very niche market.
Greatsword is an option as my guard and warrior use them, but again, common. I see more twilights than I actually see of the ghastly greatsword I use (and like).
So to the main point – make more. Make them diverse and in preparation of the person who says as legendaries there’s not meant to be a lot of them – I refer back to how insanely common they are.
Personally I would like a legendary to complete customisable, both in the way it looks, the effects on the weapon and the trail it leaves. That would allow people to be truly unique
In hindsight it is pretty complex lol
Numbers and top row of letters or the f keys would also work
Why not set the notes to match the key itself, with octaves and flats requiring a key combo
Eg. “A” plays the note “a” in the lower octave. “A + shift” plays the same note in the upper octave and “A + alt” plays the flat version of the note (thereby a + shift + alt would be an "a flat in the upper octave.
This would of course need to be a toggle, one mode as it is now for those not musically minded, and one mode for those who are
Agree. I have a visual impairment myself and would really appreciate a way to make my curser more visible and prominent, not just due to high -effect situations but also day to day stuff.
As the title says. With the changes to WvW there are new people joining and the simple fact is – people Zerg.
As such the keep and tower lords may as well not be there, as they just melt like butter.
Could you not scale their difficulty in line with the numbers of enemy in the area? That way small groups and large groups come up against an appropriate difficulty, and everyone who took part gets some loot by allowing The Lord to be alive long enough for everyone to contribute.
Before I start, I refer to new players as new to the game. Not a level 80 trying to start a new character.
With the implementation of magic find from salvaging drops, the price of said drops and the availability has taken a hit. This you may think is no major thing, but a new player doesn’t have the extra gold to buy equipment as they level and as such, you have made the journey for a new player considerably harder.
The likeliness of a new player keeping their gear up to level from drops is unreadable (from experience) due to the numerous variances in type, stats and level. As such, the purchase of said items from the TP at a cheap amount due to high supply was the best solution.
With this gone, there is no real alternative.
Crafting is also not feasible due to the variety of materials required, and potentially if you are relying on this, you have seriously bumped up the skill-curve to get into the game – especially for casual players.
MMOs live because new people replace the old. By making this process much less appealing, you are starting GW2 down to road to an early death unless you make it easier for new players to the game to gear up as they level. If not then a lot of people won’t bother after the free trial as there are easier and more accessible options.
I have had a warrior since I started and initially I loved it right up to 80, where a series of patches and gaps in gameplay meant I found myself playing guardian a lot more.
As such I’m looking for advice on what to do at 80. I’m not in a guild, I don’t really know where all the level 80s go or what I should be aiming for.
I’m not too bothered about legendaries as I change my play style so often, I wouldn’t always be using it.
So I suppose the question is, what do I do at 80 (before anyone suggests it, my ranger, engineer, guardian and elementalist are already 80 as well)
This isn’t a question of finance, this is a balance of weapons being used
Mounts are not to replace waypoints! They are for looking awesome. I would live to see horses introduced.
My suggestion is very simple. 2 handers should be allowed 2 sigils to be attached.
A sword sword, pistol pistol, sword shield etc etc all allow for 2 sigils and comparative stats to the 2 handed weapons however they have a major advantage by allowing an additional sigil to be applied.
As such, I think for balance purposes, 2 handlers deserve a second sigil slot.
Given the higher exchange rate for gold, the use of real world money is more of a requirement for more casual gamers (plan was successful I see) however the value for money is horrendous. Consider the cost of the game but for this example I’m going to use black lion chests.
In short, I can buy a scratch card for less money with a higher chance to win something. 8 quid for a new character slot or full skin and 6 for a few more spaces on the bank is now appealing for casual purchases. They instead represent considered purchases excluding younger players by making it just out of reach.
In short, you want to do more business? Lower the price of gems
6 months ago by Warrior hit 80, full berserker gear = 18g
4 months ago by Guardian hit 80, full berkerser gear = 21g
Last week my Engineer hit 80, full berserker armour = 20g
This week I got my Ranger to 80 and the same armour is now 30g
With the ascended gear and the crazy farming events the price of the materials has skyrocketed with the price of gems.
The economy is far from stable – however I suspect ANet have done this by design. Rampant inflation on essential items sucks more gold out of the game, requires the casual gamers to spend actual money for items rather than transfer gold.
It’s a ploy in preparation of expected upturn in users with the free trial who are not accustomed with transferring gold to gems – so they buy more.
I play casually and I’m not a gold farmer, neither am I a TP kitten for buying on mass and selling on mass. I play a little every now and then and as such, I don’t have crazy gold.
You seen intent to add some really good looking components via an extremely extortionate route however through black lion trading scraps – and this is not just a general shell game (find the pea under the shell) but it’s also a ridiculous idea and a horrendous business model.
In short I must purchase with either gold (which is highly impractical at the conversion rate and my playtime) or with real money (lets say 12 per £10) the equivalent of 12 lottery tickets on the slight chance I may get what I am after.
In all likeliness, I believe even after £50 I would not see the level of luck needed to achieve one of the skins I seek.
Personally, I’m not going to spend £50 on a skin, and I’m sure as hell not going to spend £50 on the chance of a skin, I wouldn’t even spend £5 of that kind of gamble, especially without even knowing the odds (and as such no guarantee that you are telling the truth)
Get rid of this lottery crap and set the ability to purchase these skins at a definite, single and outright price. Definitely drop the bullkitten regarding a random chance to receive something you want – only for you to withhold the actual percentage of chance you will receive said items.
From a trading standard point of view, how do we even know this is not a con? Even slot machines have a legal limit to what can or cannot payout with a legal obligation to state what the odds are – perhaps you could take this into consideration before offering false hope to the willing masses and publish the odds of receiving said items.
Is that a Rooster or a kitten your blowing?
As the title says, we have a number of environments and I think you have really missed a trick by not having an underwater area within the Pavillion.
Some 3D combat would make a nice change and a good challenge.
Based upon your initial list, you want to either stay as engineer lobbing grenades or go Warrior with a rifle.
I know many prefer the longbow however the simple fact is if you want long ranged aoe, stay engineer and spec the grenades. If you want ranged dps then even post-nerf, the Rifle warrior in full berserkers with a sword and warhorn for escapes will give you all you ask for. It’s also immensely fun to melt someone’s HP so quickly.
Also for edit sakes – the warrior is by far the easiest if not the easiest class to level assuming you’re not crafting it up to 80
Also a slider rather than this next page business that we currently have is just one of the many modernisations that would be possible
I’ve given up trying to avoid my Guardian for PvE and I’m just going to give in to the amazing survivability and keep using my Guardian.
Anyways the question is: What drew you to Guardian?
For me it was the early days in WvW with a low level ranger witnessing a Whirling Blade guardian mow through a courtyard full of squishies.
I just need to try and balance my Guardian away from my soldiers armour, runes AH build to something that hits a little harder without sacrificing the crazy survivability so I can replicate
Hello all,
I rolled an 80 Warrior as my first character a long time ago but upon hitting 80 – I’m just not finding it as effective as I would like.
In WvW I use a Zerker Rifle – Sword/Warhorn setup which really suits my playstyle for WvW, however I’m lacking any real PvE benefits from any setup I try (from ranged zerker, GS zerker & Knight to the good old Shout healer setup.
I blame Guardian – because I can churn out a reasonable amount of damage offset by magnificent survivability and condition removal.
My question is – what exactly am I missing from PvE on my Warrior at level 80? Or does anyone think I should just run 2 characters and keep my warrior for WvW only?
Hello all,
I’ve been playing now for a few month after release on and off, and this is the first post I have made due to how frustrating this trading post is. In short – it’s far too basic and clumsy.
I think if we’re in the mood to sort out the wallet, we could at least be able to sort out the TP so we could search for armour by type in addition to slot and rarity. Let me filter heavy armour, or let me select to see only items that my class can use.
Let me search specifically for items which go into the back slot rather than try and find the name of some.
Let me search for skins I could apply without having to look through all the consumables because skins cannot be filtered
…and at an absolute push – and I’m not too bothered on this – let me search for items that have a specific type of stat (eg Precision).
Once upon a time there was a game called Dark Age Of Camelot. That was out years ago and you probably played it yourselves. Even that had a better system. The current one – well if it was my work – I’d be ashamed to have left it so basic for so long.
The fact you can only find certain items if you know the name of them goes to prove that point.
I love the extra content, but don’t forget that stuff you made to the standard of “It’ll do” could always do with some refinement.
