I dunno, I thought Anet did a great job with how many different ways you can obtain what there is. But I guess people will still cry no matter what.

I spent 30 on gems.

Bought a weapon skin and a bunch of boxes. Ended up getting some dye, and 3 of the infiniarium mini. So I put 3 of them and 50 magical stuffing in the forge and got me a Foostivoo the Merry. All and all, I’m very impressed and think they did a great job!

I LOVE this event so far! And it’s only just begun!

The jumping puzzle was awesome! Took a few tries but I got it! Snowball fight while waiting is brilliant!

The pvp is fun and fresh, the musical notes one is challenging and tests hand eye! The gifts, skins, etc

It’s fantastic!

And this really shows Anet listens to us because you can buy skins with gems if you don’t want to “play the lottery” with the chests, they gave us entertainment while waiting in the JP, they are making the event last a long time with the events playable even past the time it happens, etc.

I’m really happy! This update has put me in the festive mood! Can’t wait to see what else is in store for us!!!

It depends largely on the server. I am on Isle of Janthir and see people everywhere. In the last 2 weeks I started a guardian alt and a thief alt and the low level areas for both Human and Norn respectfully were well populated.

Obviously it’s not AS populated as it was at launch, and never will be again (save for some special events) but on my server at least it is far from empty.

I have an 80 ranger, 80 engineer, 80 ele, a 49 thief, and i’ve tried every class multiple times…including 3 previous tries at necro and i just couldn’t get into it, because i was trying to make it like my curses GW1 necro.

but i have to say, This current necro (Staff, Axe/Focus, wells of suffering, darkness and power) is quite a lot of fun. on 24 now and it’s been a breeze because AOE is the way to go in PvE! also fun getting used to DS- i love how quick you can go in, pop doom for an instant interrupt then go back out, or stay for the area life drain.

I miss my curses Necro but i guess this will have to do!

Yeah dude, I agree. I run a well/well/BiP power build and when I hit BiP, drop both wells, turn to DS and let the life force mega drain rip, not too much survives.

I have a lvl 80 necro, and every time I play one of my alts, I get bored because it’s not as fun as my necro.

Lol Skyrim bored me to tears after 60 hours and I’ve played GW for 230 hours and not bored yet. Just sayin’. Skyrim has way more glitches too. (but that’s why I love elderscrolls games)

i really don’t hate grinding, its just the absurdness of grinding the legendary…It seems like less effort (speaking in past tense) to get into a guild and down illidan pre-patch when it was hard than to get the legendary.

Here’s an idea for you chief, if you don’t like GW, don’t play it.

Go outside, go play another game, go grind for some tail instead of legendary gear.

Go do something with your life other than cry over things you cannot change.

Some of us didn’t dump 600 hours in 3 months into this game fyi, some of us don’t even have 100% world completion yet, and are months and months away from “Standing in LA with full exotics not knowing what to do with myself.”

Sometimes my necro gets “stuck” on the axe ‘2’ skill, and walks around twirling her hand in a constipated stance lol. Always makes me laugh.

Never experienced any of the swapping holds though.

You forgot the part where you pray the targets don’t block or dodge because your “massive AoE” isn’t going to be recharging for a great deal of time.

But hey. that’s why they gave us locust swarm, right?

1 stack of bleeding for 1s on a 66% chance on critical. I can’t live without that trait.
Only Ranger have a similiar trash, but it isn’t Minor, so they can chose to not bring that trait.

Look dude I never said the trait was god like or that you needed to have it. The argument was that the OP said it would never proc because we don’t have enough multiple target abilities which is absurd. I agree 100% our traits need work but if you’re going to complain complain legitimately. And minor traits are just that, Minor. They are secondary traits which are meant to be a little tiny “bonus” if you will. Not something that is supposed to dramatically impact your character.

Frankly, I’d be more upset that a ranger’s major trait slot is wasted by that than I would be the fact it’s a minor for a necro.

Yeah. Depends on the build I guess. I’m a wellmancer, and the ground targeting trait, wells recharge 20% faster, 50% more dmg while downed (I know several classes have this), marks do 10% more dmg, etc

they are all invaluable to me. It’s not GAME CHANGING for sure, but I do a hell of a lot better with them than I did without that’s for sure.

And the 20% more dmg to targets with less than 50% health, for an AoE beast like the necro, is far from useless.

Here are few of the things I would like to see.

a) Allow players to change the order of weapon abilites in action bar. (simple)
b) Add more abilites per weapon – but you can only use 5
c) Give ppl real choises on how they want to play – If they want to be more tanky or healing – then allow them. Current system does not.
d) Add mounts into the game !! Make ppl pay for them … I dont care … just get them in.
e)Improve the dungeon experience. I know of alot of ppl that like to play trinity way and would be playing GW2 if it had good dungeons that offered more tratidional gameplay.
f) Add 10 man raids into the game.

A) No. Why would you need to swap the predetermined skills in the bar? You can keybind ‘2’ to the first slot etc if you HAVE to. Utilities are custom already. This request makes no sense.
B) I’m sure they will add more weapons/skills as the game matures. They aren’t gonna do it now.
C) Umm, you can do that. That’s what the +healing +toughness etc trait lines are.
D) I wouldn’t care either way. I’m fine with the current system, but yes it would be cool to ride something.
E) This isn’t wow.

Hey fellow Necros! I know in a sense this is a rhetorical question because the best build for a character is the one that is most fun and appealing to YOU, the player, but I was hoping I could get a little bit of advice/thoughts/ideas from some of the veteran necros.

My necro is my main and I just hit lvl 80 the other day. I haven’t gotten into the dungeons much yet, and only have 2 exotics on me, so I have lots to go after still. I’m also trying to wrap world completion as well.

My build is currently a power/cond hybrid with blood magic for the life leech.

30/20/0/20/0 is how it’s set up.

basically, in the power trait line the perks I’ve chosen are

1) 50% more dmg while downed
2) Marks do 10% more dmg
3) Do 20% more dmg when opponent’s health is < 50%

In curses,

1) 20% longer bleed duration
2) Wells use ground targetting

And blood magic,

1) Siphoning health is 50% more effective
2) Wells recharge 20% faster

Obviously I am a full on wellmancer, and I typically enter a battle by dropping my 2-5 staff marks, using my utility Blood is Power (10 stacks of might!), dropping my well of corruption and well of suffering, switch to dagger/focus (currently), the dagger has the hydromancy sigil so it does an AoE freeze, F1 to DS, hit 4 for the “megadrain” as I call it :P, and normally everything close to me is dead at this point (1,2,4, 8, it doesn’t matter) and if they aren’t I use a round of my dagger abilities and switch back to staff (giving me 2 stack of might from sigil)

I am not having ANY issues killing things at all. I don’t do too much pvp (I’m rank 9 or 10 in spvp) and rarely do wvwvw (although when I have I have been able to kill things very well because I just run to a big group drop wells, DS, 4, etc) so for now my main focus is PvE. I will be doing dungeons etc in the future and when I DO do pvp, typically I switch BiP for epidemic (so OP in pvp).

So what do you guys think? I’m a GW noob (never played the first one) so any advice or comments would be appreciated! Thanks!

Yeah, but for me it’s not the emote animation, it’s the sound effects that go with it. Human female and sylvari female are worlds apart in that aspect.

I have a lvl 31 human female and a lvl 10 norn female as well and they fail in comparison to the Sylvari sound effect wise IMO.

The best is when you have two sylvari females fighting each other and it sounds like some sort of porno.

no MMO ever especially within 3 months of it’s release has given you more than 650 hours without repetitiveness. I felt WoW was repetitive after 100 hours never mind 650. Plus, they charge you monthly and Anet does not.

Bugs and glitches aside, they are doing a great job with new content for a f2p game so soon from release.

My experience? I got drunk friday, got drunk saturday, and missed every event due to being hung over.

Read everyone’s woes and joys, some got wicked drops and some got DC’d and pissed.

Was I mad when I found out I missed out on a precursor possibility and a guaranteed 20 slot bag? A little.

Do I wish I wouldn’t of gotten drunk and played the event instead? Nope.

Did the game somehow get worse because I didn’t make the event? Nope.

Couldn’t care less either way. It’s a game. A game I play when I want and how I want. If I want to spend every waking hour trying to get the best loot, I could.
If I want to get drunk and get female attention instead, I will.

It’s a game. That’s it. And yes, it’s a game with bugs and glitches and issues, but girls/guys/RL situations I live have the same issues.

Nothing is perfect. A game is a game.

I’m just happy I can jump on when I can, play how I want, and make friends like you wonderful, wonderful people.

But at the same time, they never came to my house and added on new exciting content to my ball and cup for free either. Despite if it lagged and became unplayable, I would admire the thought behind it and give them a chance to redeem themselves. Just sayin’.

P.S: Puppy and Kitten are how the cool kids are swearing these days
