I don’t think you can count an affinity for Party Rock Anthem as a defense of someone’s taste in music.
DAoC had something like this. They had realm-captureable relics that were kept in attackable forts. There were 3 and when one realm owned all of them, it made their own relic vulnerable somehow (I’m sorry, I don’t recall how).
Yes, WvW is for casuals. I cannot expound on this thought because it makes the moderators very sad.
Arguing that it is balanced for Guardians to lack a real ranged weapon option because Engineers don’t have a real melee weapon option is like saying it’s ok if you can only bring a knife to a gun fight because the other guy only has guns.
YES! THIS RIGHT HERE.
You can play with your friends via tournaments. We will continue as well to improve the ability to play with friends in pickup games, but it will always be somewhat limited because we do not want large groups of guilds pub stomping the pick up games.
I think the OP was specifically referring to playing world pvp with friends from other servers. I would like to see this as well, so long as it doesn’t allow people from current enemy servers to WvW against their own side. I recognize that there are other, bigger issues currently facing world pvp for the moment though, specifically server balance and queues.
People leaving really can be an issue though, it’s especially annoying in (hot join) tournaments.
I agree that it can be annoying. It can absolutely lead to someone contributing to their own loss. When this happens to me, I try to keep in mind that the only significant down-side to losing a sPVP match is a bruised ego and I’m not leaving empty handed. A bruised ego doesn’t bother me when I remember that.
Would really appreciate the ability to rebind all key commands.

You might try replacing WASD with ESDF, which opens up a column of keys to the left of your hand. Put the dodge on the A key and you still have room to add heal/util/elite hotkeys on the adjacent Q, W, R, T, G, Z, X, C, and V. I never ever have to reach for those right-side skills.
They know how this works. This can be seen in the fact that you have to buy the gathering tools, for example. It’s just a way to you to buy the things you gather before you actually gather them. Also, notice how you need more and more expensive tools as you gather more valuable commodities.
I agree very much. If you ask me, GW1 was also a moba, even before the term came into widespread use. I played GW1 for the PVP almost exclusively—If the MMO aspect of GW1 were removed, you would be left with a game that I would still have played. In fact, the experience would have been the same for me since PVE was something I did out of boredom. Not because it was bad, it’s just not for me.
GW1 had an easy way to spectate a variety of near-live games, but I don’t think they ever made it so a person could replay a match in the way you can with LoL today. I would be very surprised if GW2 didn’t have a spectator option considering their aspirations for e-sport status. No activity can ever be any kind of sport unless it can be appreciated by spectators.
You wont find any of these determining the outcome of a 5v5. Heartseeker – wtf – you wont even find a heartseeker thief in good tournament groups…
That is a good point, however tPVPis not the only PVP and sPVP is no less a valid mode or class of PVP, it’s just different. Don’t forget about the metagame—if you’re very likely to encounter a certain flavor-of-the-month, then players will start bringing direct counters, which is not something that can be helped by changing the game. Only the players can do this.
Your point gains are more influenced by your contribution to the match rather than whether or not you win. You don’t lose your point earnings when the match gets autobalanced. People leaving is not an issue because they’re usually replaced pretty quickly and you still fall back on autobalancing if they are not replaced. Conversely, if you earned a large number of points suddenly as the result of a few minutes of imbalance in your favor, then it is not remotely unfair for you to have to face an even team after autobalancing win or lose. There’s just nothing to fix here.
Oh by the way all I care about is 1v1 PvP….or solo PvP
Go play Quake or whatever the kids are doing these days.
/facepalm
All points on a triangle are between the other two.
sigh
The fact of the matter is that there is only so much capacity provided by the computer systems that support these areas. If they allowed this capacity to be exceeded, then performance would suffer.
