the way i see it, transmuting your armor should work for the entirety of your armor: meaning, if you transmute one piece of armor to a different type, then you have to transmute all of it to that type.

Can a turret engineer be useful in PvE?

The only turret worth slotting 100% of the time is the healing turret. All the other turrets are useless filler skills to make the engineer look cool from a marketing perspective, but serve no viable function. They’ve been gradually nerfed over the last 4 years and will only handicap you for each one you equip. The only time I use offensive turrets is during some world boss events to tag mobs for loot while I chill-out and wait for the boss to spawn. Other than that, they’re relics of an old game that no longer exists.

Why are you using so many kits? I am using two.

I ask because the button scheme seems it might be able to use a controller over a mouse and keyboard. I’m curious to know if Anet ever gave us this option.

i switched my #1 skill button with ‘R,’ skills #2-5 are now #1-4, skills #6-9 are ‘shift+#1-4, elite mortar is ’Shift+R’

Idea, give dart volley to a gyro. Skill 3 is replaced with ‘tracer shot:’ fire a homing beacon at target; fire homing missile from belt, deals explosive damage and knocks down enemies.

main hand: 1) thrust: stab your foe causing bleeding
2) gut shock: use the butt of your knife to shock your foe, stunning them (can interrupt attacks)
3) poison injection: poison your foe and cause weakness
off hand: 4) vibroblade: your knife vibrates at a high frequency, causes vulnerability
5) magnetic blade: all missile attacks are attracted to your knife for (x) seconds, block any projectiles

with the scrapper elite skill, we now have one melee weapon that is not a kit, i think we need more

um… replace turrets and gyros with drones? they could work on a timer, but I think mobility is a problem for engineers. I understand gyros were met to fix this, but it’s only for max level engineers. seems unfair that low level players are forced into this ‘defend one area’ style of play for trying to aid others.

I think it would be easier for the asura racial skill radiation field to be an engineer skill, and we could take out one of the gadgets to replace it with something else.

i think this is a good idea, but i think they keep it separate to help with keeping the classes defined. it seems unnecessary since transmutation stones are already a thing.

It seems that targeting in three dimensions underwater has some interesting effects as opposed to targeting when walking around Tyria. Enemies on a ‘flat’ surface have a reticle at their feet, but in water, targets often have to be selected for some skills. is it harder to have the game programed so that everything works in a three dimensional space?

OP, I agree with you but don’t hold your breath. Many people have suggested this and many other ways to fix gyro pathing/AI since the scrapper release and see how many changes they got.

A change could happen, but we the players need to keep pushing it until it happens.
Anet will listen if more people are on board. When it becomes a big enough issue that can no longer be ignored, it will force their hands to take action and make a change.

Best strategy we can do anyone & everyone you know that uses engi/scrapper, needs to post in this suggestion thread and or create another. Offer up suggestions and support of the idea, until it happens.
Do what the complainers do, about certain builds and nerfing of them lol
We all know tactics like that work. We just have to make a huge deal out of it until it changes.

which means you need to keep posting again, and again, ad infinitum until a change is made.

im just tired of having to pick them up every time i finish a battle. i am unsure why they are not mobile to begin with. necromancers can summon dead things back to life, but an engineer cant make a robot that can stick around for longer than a minute?
