You’ll still be able to get the wings, even with the considerable league changes coming with Season 5.
Hey Josh could you clarify for me, Will the current Year of the Ascension achievements still be available during season 5? So I can finish off part 4 during s5 to complete the gift.
Guardians counter thieves. Thieves aren’t meant for fighting equal or outnumbered fights (WvW is the exception). Your role as a thief is to quickly decap points and +1 fights. +1 means you outnumber the enemy in a fight by 1 player. And when you get to a fight, don’t just sit in the middle of it taking damage. Thief is made to burst, run, burst, run etc. That’s why it’s so unfun to fight. Nobody likes fighting someone who hits you and then runs away, but that’s how thief is made. In a fight, stay at range and use SB skills or interrupt important skills with Pistol 4. When you see someone at low hp (like 25%, maybe 50% even), jump in and burst down that target. There are many skills that teleport you to the target. The most burst will come from Pistol 5 – Dagger 2 for stealth – Steal during the jump – Backstab and burst with AAs, making sure to interrupt any healing attempts. If your target is still alive, get to safety and be ready to jump back in at the right opportunity.
That’s thief. You run around decapping points (or full capping if you don’t need to +1 a fight), and +1ing fights. On maps like Forest, you have an additional role of stealing Beast kills.
This sounds easy, but it’s not. If you have good teammates, +1ing fights will be easier, but if you have bad teammates, there won’t be any opportunities to jump into fights because they’ll never have an enemy at low enough hp.

So the achievements wont be tied to obtaining the legendary wings? There will be a different method not involving the current achievements? So there is no reason to complete part II that I am on currently? I’m wondering because I got the precursor already, so I’m not sure if I should even bother completing the achievements if I know I wont be able to complete part 3 or 4 on time…
I would also like to know this. I only just unlocked part 4 but I have the precursor and all of the achievements except for league elite. I hate the idea of doing all this work, but having to start all over on my gift of the competitor through a different method just because I can’t make it through diamond this season : /
Right now i’m using the metabattle D+P/SB build and I’m finding that I have a lot of struggle surviving. It seems like 1v1ing guardians is absolutely impossible and I can’t 1v2 to defend or distract on a point and survive at all. I just get way too many conditions way too fast. I frequently finding myself escaping only to die conditions soon after and bleed out in the middle of enemy territory. I run shadowstep and withdraw but typically use withdraw in combat and don’t have it to save myself afterwards. Any advice for a noob?
i need all of part III and part IV’s daily league participator, but there’s only 26 days of the season left; am i SOL for the year? is my progress going to reset? is all my effort and anything i do now a waste
You can still earn ur wings in s5 which I suspect will start around Octobrr or November ur good bro no worries
Not correct, they officially stated there’s 4 seasons a year so the new one will start in a new year.

What about the hymn of glory for gift of the competitor?
I already have the wings of ascension, but If I cant get to diamond this season and unlock the Pvp Elite achievement by the end of this month, I won’t be able to get the hymn of glory for my gift of the competitor. I heard that the year of the ascension achievements close after this season as well and there will be an “alternate” way to get the wings. But I already have the wings. I will just be missing the hymn of glory. So how will I be able to complete the ascension if I can’t make this deadline?
Does anyone think this could be possible if they can afford the buy-in? Several legendaries have a 3-8% profit margin if you flip them which can be 100-200g per flip…But do people ever actually sell their legendaries instantly as opposed to listing?
I have mastery 4. He doesn’t have any starters for the new legendaries. However he does have the the books for the new legendaries in every other tier but they are locked because I don’t have the first.

When i go to my legendary collections tab, they are all locked and won’t show me the items I need to collect to craft the precursor. Has this feature just not been released yet or am I missing something basic?
I finally decided it was time to make a full set of ascended gear, only to realize I only have one empyreal star…What is the fastest way to get the fragments?
Do they have the same or greater chance to drop rares and exotics when compared to the exotic coin purses? Tryingg to decide what I should open on my level 55 for mats and what I should open on my lvl 80 for chance at a pre and globs of ectoplasm.
Well its more a matter of I’ll probably never get tequatl’s hoard again (or at least not for a very long while) and I want to get the most out of this drop.
Aesthetically speaking, which do you think looks cooler? I got tequatls hoard yesterday, and although I like the sunless spire the most out of the sunless skins, idk if its worth choosing since I already have the Crossing which is a pretty sick skin itself.

I was hacked last night and they deleted literally everything, leaving me naked with 0 money and my all bank/collectibles all cleared out. I submitted a ticket to Anet asking them to restore my account to a save or snapshot or whatever before the hack and I was wondering how long it usually takes them to respond to and fulfill a request like this. I’m fairly new to the game, so I haven’t played any of these classes, except a warrior that i got to lvl 30 a while ago on a borrowed account that I no longer use. Which of these three classes is the easiest/fastest for map completion, especially solo? (Orr is my main concern)

Ah yes, it is undoubtedly a nice staff. Looks cool and very befitting of a necromancer. Nevertheless as someone mentioned before, it is very widely used. I have been playing regularly for a little under a year now and I have seen a ton of Final Rests, but I have quite literally only seen one or two Crossings (and those on Guardians, not Necros) and maybe 5 or 6 ascended Spires. I feel like if I wanted to stand out a bit, the Crossing would be the way to go, so that’s what I’m leaning towards at this point.

I’m trying to decide which to get for my necromancer. Ignoring the fact that Grizzlemouth’s is ascended and therefore more of a testament to effort and dedication to the game, which do you think simply LOOKS better, particularly on a necromancer?
