I’d like to take a moment to answer some questions that I’ve seen asked frequently.Q: What factors go into determining world links?
A: We take into consideration a lot of factors when making the links, but the primary factor we look at is the WvW activity level for each world, during peak and off-peak hours. The goal being to normalize world populations among unlinked worlds and groups of linked worlds. For EU we also filter potential links by language.
It doesnt really look like any consideration was taken when looking at what you have done to T4. Based on how glicko is going, its going to be like this for at least a month before there is a chance of something changing. I am surprised that Anet is fine with this current setup
I am actually curious as to how this match-up even seemed to look right in Anets eyes. 4 servers VS 3 servers VS 2 servers. Its not even close. Its a K Train for 7 servers to run over the 2 server pairing. If population is so low that you can actually have 4 servers paired up together, then its probably time to combine some and go to a 3 tier system. We have to deal with this for 2 months and you wonder why WvW is loosing people…. At least make it somewhat fair and not something that one side has no chance of competing in…
Yes, please change this back to Friday. The community overwhelmingly did not want the saturday change, so it should be the obvious choice to move it back.
I cant remember a “hot fix” happening at all during friday night since HOT launched anyway
since the update, invisible bags are now always closed when you open your inventory. Its an anoying bug to have to keep opening it when you open you inventory
After weeks of crafting and leveling scribe enough to build the guild decoration “Fire Circle” , I found out that it has no fire in it at all. It takes numerous campfires and fire pits to craft it (all which have a fire) , yet this big circle of seats around a fire pit has no fire in it. It seems like it has to be a bug. Some decorations can be turned on and off. Perhaps this is supposed to happen with this one? Either way, it should be addressed considering the large amount of time and money that goes into crafting this item. I have attached pictures of it below in all its glory….
i just went to this location as well and the veterans do not spawn to allow the wall to open up

i also have this on a few of my characters. After a week of this it has become very annoying to have it keep popping up every time I change maps. I have every trait unlocked, yet the exclamation point is telling me otherwise.
This event has turned WvW into a giant K train…even worse than EOTM. This was not a well thought out event and only magnifies the server balance problem. Couple this with the numerous exploits / bugs involved with this event and it makes for the worst time I have experienced in WvW. The only thing I am happy about is that I will be going on vacation for the rest of the week and do not have to endure this poor attempt to shake things up…

It’s the $50 for absolutely nothing besides access to the expanded content. Previous GW expansions at the very least included an expansion slot for new character classes at the base purchace price. With this, we’re being told just access is $50, another character slot will take an additional $25 to get (with fluff).
One could cynically assume that they are banking on people being cranky about that, and buying gems to get a character slot, instead.
Expansions have NOT had extra slots. EOTN did not have have an extra slot. If you are thinking of Factions or Nightfall, they are not expansions

If guild halls are unlocked in the new map, then only those who purchase the expansion are able to unlock them. With the upgrades shown, guilds can have airships and tanks in WvW now. Does this mean that there is an advantage buy buying this expansion that others will not have that do not purchase this from a WvW perspective?

This has been going on for 2 days. Severe lag on T2 Green BL. All other WvW maps are fine. Multiple DC’s and 3-5 second lag constantly.
This event is still bugged even after the latest patch.
If only this was announced before the season started to avoid this QQ ing…. Oh wait
its game wide…all the unlocked points are now locked again.

Additional recipes for ascended back-item pieces have been added to the Mystic Forge for players who don’t play the fractals.
All of the ascended back-item pieces that required 1 vial of Condensed Mists Essence can now be forged with Bloodstone Dust instead.
A total of eight recipes have been added.
-This does not work for the ascended backpiece “There with Yakkington: A Traveler’s Tale”. The original recipe was 40 crystals, 50 globs of ecto, 250 vicious claws and 1 vial of condensed mist essence. It does not work when trying to replace the mist essence with any amount of bloodstone dust
There will not be another season this calendar year. The matchmaking post-season will be back to the system before, with some possible tweaks, but it will be essentially the same system.
The way this season has basically destroyed some of the smaller servers, I hope there is not another season ever until they get the population problem in check
I’ve also been watching of late the vids put up by CharrCat and Drak regarding the Ehmry Bay Resets and Zerg of Zergs. Man, I like the way those guys WvW. Very good.

IDEA: auto teamups of the two trailing teams
When leading team score > (2nd + 3rd) / modifier then 2nd and 3rd become automatically allied and/or gain bonuses for attacking the leading team.
I really like this idea, however if a team is overpowering the other teams that much, they would also have the ability to keep the score at just the right point so this alliance does not occur.
While this idea would make a big difference, I still believe the main issue is the population imbalance that occurs. With the implementation of the new que system that is coming, there will no longer be a deterrent for people to not join higher tier servers, which will make the problem even worse
