I managed to open the mail by logging back in again after the crashes, but only did so the first two times. Now it crashes immediately when I click on the mail icon, and I’m unable to open the third mail.
Glad it worked. You’re right, 378.92 is available if you select US. I’ll probably wait until the UK ones are available though and stick with 378.78 for now.
I had a similar problem. Login worked okay but when I hit “Play” the Guild Wars 2 Game Client would disappear from Apps in the Task Manager (and appeared under Background processes?).
I updated my nVidia GeForce to 378.78 and this seems to have fixed it.
Similar position here. I have a character that the skin would look great on, but don’t have the gold to buy 10,000 drinks. Farming them is well outside any reasonable definition of gameplay, as is farming the gold to buy them. Did ArenaNet really want this skin to only be available to two “elite” groups of players: The Trading Post Warriors, and the Pavlov Pack. I just find flipping items on the TP, and spending hours doing exactly the same thing over and over, dull. Compare acquiring this skin to acquiring Mini Liadri the Concealing Dark, and tell me which one is better.
Here’s my suggestion for what it’s worth: Keep the drinking achievement and it’s title. Add a different reward maybe? An Endless Barrel of Eggnog? And change the last item of the collection to something else, like 1,000 drinks, or giving 100 wrapped presents to Orphans.
Maybe I’m just biased though. I just want the skin, but I’d be happy with any reasonable method of acquiring the skin.
just remember, you can get a present a day from your home instance.. might take thousands of days but you could eventually pull it off
True, but 35 years seems somewhat onerous, and I’ll probably be playing Guild Wars 7 by then.
I’d like the commander tag to give you a large banner. This would replace your skills with ten commands like: Advance, Hold, Fall Back, On Me!, Disperse, etc.. The banner shown would change appearance based on what command you were giving, and be easily visible in large groups and possibly on the map too.
One of the slowest parts of a HDD is the time the read-head takes to seek data on the hard disk(s). You can minimize this by defragmenting the Guild Wars 2’s Gw2.dat file.
Note that this works for HDDs. Do Not defragment a SSD: It doesn’t help and it will reduce the life of your SSD.
Congratulations, you’ve learned an important lesson and it didn’t cost you real money!
If you can communicate without using taboo words, you can cyber-bully without them too. Verbal abuse can exist without them. Word filters are a blunt tool.
That unfortunately depends on other players reporting the leecher, otherwise it’s you that ends up with the dishonor points (and a temporary ban). It’s better to have a system where standing around doing nothing never rewards the player.
My first mesmer just waved her sword about while mostly blind. That seemed to work fine.
Rapier?
I’ve been waiting for one of those since the first Guild Wars!
A question: If I select Supersample would FXAA then be applied to the super-image or afterwards? Is it applied on top of the antialiased (x1) native-resolution image after supersampling; or is it applied before supersampling on the (x4) super-image?
I also like Sieran, but my favourite NPC has to be the Skritt Burglar (“Stuff stuff stuff!”). She makes me laugh every time she pops out of a chest.
The worst RNG in the game is the one that rewards luck
There’s another sort?
Did you mean to write “Fail Moments”?
These seem to have slipped out of ArenaNet’s Recycle Bin…
A lot of people here would find it advantageous to take a statistics class.
But what’s the likelihood of that?
One of the hurdles for some new players is the cost of the game. I think free weekends are a good idea. It’ll mean they can try Guild Wars 2 first. Hopefully the servers will survive the extra load.

Its time hasn’t changed. It’ll still be at 7pm EST.
You, however, are using EDT.
7pm EST = 8pm EDT.
You could always use this site. Mine is good for 157 billion years.
Giving your Guild Wars 2 password to other sites means your password is no longer secure. You’re welcome.
Gold is good for buying things, but it’s bad for saving. Its value will keep dropping, as more gold is available to everyone. You want items that are going to increase in value compared to the weapon of rage, or, at least, retain their relative value. Items with increasing prices that can be sold when you’re ready.
Mostly you just see them appear and then disappear. Occasionally if there is a nearby node you’ll see them instantly appear at the next one, before disappearing again. They also appear exactly on the node, not next to it. ArenaNet should be adding server-side checks for aberrant movement, if they haven’t already, as relying on player-reports isn’t possible with these cheats.
I’d love a player house on the wall of Divinity’s Reach. Either internal or external. Or maybe one in the Wizard’s Fief. Actually I might need several houses. Master keys for each, so I could make access-keys to give to friends. Wizard’s Tower as a legendary guild hall?
That’s not correct. The dailies will continue to reset at 19:00 EST. You, however, will be using EDT. 19:00 EST and 20:00 EDT are the same time.
I prefer the distinction in visual appearance between the heavy, medium and light classes. I think a lot of people would like to see more variety in armor, but I don’t think being able to use light armor on a warrior, for example, is the way to go.
I wouldn’t take it to heart Wobbles. The people that enjoy the game, are usually playing it. The people that post on the forums, usually have something to complain about.
Good point Mandrax. Although I enjoy playing, so wouldn’t mind it too much. Others might see it as a chore though, when they already have a level 80. Thinking about it, you’d also lose any soulbound equipment you have, which could be a bigger issue.
If you can change a character’s entire appearance and their name, you might as well make a new character. It only costs 800 gems, or a spare slot. As a bonus you can change the profession too, and you can either keep the original character or free up the slot.
Or dynamical adjust the number of visible portraits with screen size.
For the event at Morgan’s Spiral I saw the event bar go down. Saw lots of green names. Had some invisible players. Didn’t see any Karka. Didn’t see any red names for the Karka. The only red name I saw the entire time was a Risen Grub.
Try checking the physical connection to the monitor.
They wouldn’t be as cute if they were a playable race.
I’ve had trouble with this quest. The problem seems to happen if you try to talk to the Pale Tree. You can’t, however Trahearne is usually right behind you, and you will talk to him instead. Trahearne is trying to talk to the Pale Tree, and for some reason talking to him when he’s trying to do that, breaks the scripted dialogue.
To complete the quest: Don’t try to talk to the Pale Tree.
Is the reason you want to join another faction, the armor? If so, perhaps ArenaNet could add the ability to buy the other armors after you reach an appropriate point in the personal story.
I’d prefer it if the travel costs scaled with the area you’re traveling to. So if I’m hopping around a low level area, the costs are relatively low. If I’m going to a high level area, it’s expensive. If I’m returning to a city, it’s free.
I tried transmuting it so I’d have more slots and a colorful bag icon. Doesn’t work though.
Lost connection after the Mad King’s cutscene when I tried to get into the explorable. Now unable to log in…
Would be better if just everyone else was a skeleton. Or a ghost.
These two factors in the jumping puzzle:
1. Seeing where you are.
2. Seeing where you have to jump to.
Are completely broken because of other characters blocking the view. There’s no way around this because of the timing. Everyone is at the same place.
Most of the time I fail because I can’t see where my character is, sometimes because I can’t see what I’m jumping to, occasionally because I’ve stopped so I can see where to jump and the time’s run out, and rarely because I’ve misjudged a jump.
I should be mostly failing this because I’ve either misjudged a jump or I’ve taken too long. But this is not what is happening. The difficulty of the clock tower depends more on the race and ability of your companions than it does on your ability to do a jumping puzzle!
