We’re aware of the issue and are looking into it.
I’ll update here as I get them.
Temp Workaround:
(This will not work for everyone)
As a temporary bypass add -assetsrv 64.25.41.2 to your Gw2 Shortcut in the Target Section (you will want to clear this out at a later date)
64.25.41.3, 64.25.41.4 may also work
This worked for me after 2 hours of trying other methods.
EDIT: it allowed me to update but now I get an error that the game was unable to connect to the login server. Build: 79243 Error Code: 58:11:5:535
EDIT 2: I just changed my dns to Google DNS 8.8.8.8 – 8.8.4.4 and this has allowed me to login. Instructions found here: https://developers.google.com/speed/public-dns/docs/using

I would just like to say thank you to all concerned, this thread has really helped me as a newbie, almost instantly I am having more fun in game.
I am very new and the post indicated that I am bumping an old post but I think others can learn from this post too.
Hey there zsoak, your build sounds great, I wonder if you could give a little bit more info about gear and runes etc.. I am very new but really enjoy WvW. The problem is it’s such a lot of info to take on I feel lost with so many choices. Could you give me a break down of the gear you use, the runes etc..
I haven’t spent anything thing on gear at all so I have quite a few ways to get gear etc.. but I want to hold off until I was more sure of how to spend the currency.
Thank you in advance.
I’m so glad I read this post, I thought I was the only one suffering. I’ve had massive headaches, I find myself leaning in to the screen, the jumping puzzles literally leave me feeling sick.
I’m going to create something imaginary you can play for, you’re not getting it until you are the best, some random matches with some other players will decide this then you can have it, the reward is an elite skill.
Contentment
Using this skill the player will become happy with the profession and the game play of that profession, they will not want a fake rewards made up to keep them interested instead they will be satisfied they had some fun with some bros and ho’s.
Carrots are for donkey’s, now either we are talking with a very clever donkey or your a human and therefore are clever enough to know a carrot is a carrot and it’s not worth having.
Phoenix.3809 Your are asking in another post what profession is the most OP because you like to faceroll people on your main and that you are not a very good player. Now you’re here asking about healers when it is widely known there is no dedicated healers in this game.
I call troll, I hope you continue because being a troll in this game or on these forums garners a perma ban.
When I first saw that Guild Wars 2 was going to come out, people said that it would be the same game-play as the original Guild Wars but with a different story, I was so excited that I pre-ordered the game and could not wait to play. Now I am disappointed with the game-makers. Guild Wars 2 is based mainly on interacting with other players and is required to do so with many quests that I have seen so far, especially the dynamic events, which if you are by yourself will either take a very long time or will be impossible to do. I love the idea of having so many new things to do like crafting, cooking, gathering…but it is very unlike Guild Wars and is really similar to World of Warcraft which I completely dislike.
Would it be possible for the game makers to expand the original Guild Wars again? If not could they at least change the game-play of Guild Wars 2? Either one would be magnificent to have. If it is possible to change Guild Wars 2’s game-play, I would like it to be a little more similar to Guild Wars when you could have (as said in other related topics) henchmen and heroes to add to your party so you would not have to worry about completing quests and events with other players. When this game gets old and is rarely played by those who bought it like Guild Wars is now, I would like to go back and play it again some times but if many things require other players…what is the point?
Your describing a single player game!
Very sad! Phoenix.3809 I’m glad this is a skill based game, because if you’re as bad as you say, it won’t matter which profession is OP, your gonna get nailed everytime you login.
This has to be a troll post for sure! I r leik to fac3r0ll p33ps with auto attack, tell me how?
The truth is this game has another layer of play over other mmo’s your character is going to be something you care about and anything that is OP not will not be OP forever, you’ll see that professions will fall in line with each other and you will be left with the choice you made, ie: pick a character you actually want to play not the one that’s allegedly doing the most dmg.
Edit: I just read someone say “I’d say the Ranger is pretty OP, One ranger managed to kill me and a guardian in no time 2 vs 1”. The ability of one ranger to kill 2 people is suddenly a reason to call a profession OP, I mean it has nothing to do with the fact he was experienced and perhaps your not as good as you think?!

Inabilty to commit and thinking others are having more fun or doing more dmg or looking cooler than you is quite common in mmo’s, good news for you though cause there is an easy cure.
Pick a profession you like, have confidence you made the right decision, play it and don’t worry about what others look like or what they seem to be able to do that you cannot. Learn your character ie: read blog’s, watch videos and ask for advice if needed but get good at playing it.
You’ll start having bags of fun you’ll look cool doing it and you’ll be playing end game before you know it.
I don’t really understand why your worried about other people so much, as far as I can tell achievement points are for you and you only, if you are measuring yourself against someone else you will always be bias even if they are ahead of you in experience and the AP doesn’t show it.
Jay needs to l2p, it cannot be more simply put than this.
I played with an ele in WvW that just blew most ppl that came near him/her away but the class is designed with changing attunements on the fly constantly and if your not doing that and doing it right then you are at fault not the game.
I have never seen so much typed and so little sense made.
1 – You get a unidentified dye, you double click it to discover what colour it is,
2 – you then decide if you want that colour in your collection,
3 – you do so you double click it again, the dye now enters your collection for that character,
4 – so if you had black dye, you now have black dye forever on that character.
Considering black dye in GW1 was used as a currency (as was white dye) and it was a bit over priced if you wanted all your gear dyed, this solution is awesome, I buy a dye or get a nice drop and bang it’s mine, I don’t have to keep paying for it.
How is this confusing in anyway, and I just cannot for the life of me see the negative, if we had consumable dye’s that vanished after one use, you would never have any gold.
I have EotN. I played GW1 pretty extensively. I went through the earlier storylines (Prophecies (before it came to be called Prophecies), Factions, and Nightfall). I played a little EotN but not too much. However, I did go to the Hall of Monuments.
Did you actually put anything in your HOM? could you list one of the names you used in GW1 so we can check that you actually have items earned because it wasn’t as simple as just entering the HOM.
It was clearly stated many times you must log into your gw1 account, it doesn’t take long to download and it’s takes very little time to log in. The solution to your issue is in your hands, I wish the solution to my game issues was this easy to solve.
I just got to this quest “Shell Shock”
I arrived at the bridge just after the Giant Spider and artillery group just stand there with no way to communicate to them to progress the story line, I see via Google it’s supposed to be fixed but it definitely is not fixed at least for me.
EDIT: I managed to get passed the Bridge, I tried a second time and instead of looting and lagging behind after the spider I just ran with them, this seems to have jolted the quest or something as I have progressed and now finished this quest.

Well your asking a question and indicating they know there is a problem with the balancing and also in turn know which professions and skills are causing this, you’re assuming a lot considering. You will have to be more specific. They might actually think pvp is fine and there is no problem with balance and that it’s more a case of l2p or just that certain professions are more favoured which is pretty normal.
I also just lost about 5 gold buying mats and some rare items, I hope this is going to be recoverable.
While I support legitimate complaints for revoking a ban due to it being unnecessary, why is it so hard for people to stop being mean and cruel to each other if you don’t like someone block them or ignore them. Someone asked in General chat how they avoid being banned and I simply said try to be helpful, kind, polite and nice to others, I’m no angel but why do you feel you need to be so nasty.
