I thought it was supposted to start at noon, PST?

No. Anet isn’t teaching anybody. They’re requiring you to do it. Personally, I play alone most of the time. I know it’s an MMO and I play with my guildies, but my primary method of relaxing is to play alone.
Kinda hard to get dailies if the dailies require you to play with others.
I know.. “Don’t do the dailies.” Hey. It’s how I grind. I collect my experience and my little Jug ’o Karma.
The only light at the end is that they’ve blogged that they’ll eventually have a bunch of options for dailies. So, I’m just gonna assume this is a work in progress.

I didn’t think they were up. Supposedly, that’s coming in a new update. You can purchase it with gems (and you get gems via gold or real money).

Yes. You only need to purchase a new book when you level up beyond the old one. Changing traits it fairly cheap.

No.. I don’t think it’s too late. We’ve noticed a resurgence due to new copies sold during Christmas. For the first time in a long time, I’ve been sent to overflows in a few places.

You probably should consider joining a guild that has 3-4 active members on during your normal play time. While there are some things that require many more players, most of the game can be handled solo or with a small party.

They’re in the same boat, after all.

I’m really sorry to hear about that, Neksis. My wishes and prayers go out to his family.

So.. nobody’s gotten anything aside from the satisfaction?

It doesn’t really matter in the end, I suppose, but…
One of the reasons I chose the White Stag storyline was the implied promise of a boon for saving her (or letting her go). So, I’ve done it and there doesn’t seem to be boon, blessing, or anything received. I kinda thought you’d go to the stag, click on him and receive some useful boon.. probably dealing with healing or something.
Am I missing something? Or was it just a quest-line, forgotten once completed?

Thanks for the update. I really appreciate knowing that before it happens.

Right now, I’m in WvW and partied with a guy from DR. All our tags show ‘Jade Quarry.’ I’m on Kain. So, I guess JQ is the physical machine we’re all fighting on.

I don’t think WvW has overflow.. when a zone if full, you queue up. No overflow.

If they can control the entire board and NOT take the last remaining tower, they already have a lot of teamwork.
If I beat you, you might want to consider changing games.
wouldn’t it be easy to circumvent the breakout events by the opposing team(s) in control just by leaving one tower alone in a zone they dominated?
In theory, but at the same time, then you’re giving the opposing team a staging ground and a place to place siege in relative safety. Also gives them a place to go. Easier to push past a group to get into a defensive position then it is to wipe a group out.
I don’t think so. All the opposing team would have to do is control the one remaining tower, just not take it. They could theoretically keep the gates and walls down, just never killing the Lord.

Yeah.. I can’t make it either. Darn GMT offsets.
Yeah.. I can’t make it either. Darn GMT offsets.Someone YouTube it for us, please? Make sure you include Dred, for Shaka’s sake.

Can I dance party with you tomorrow Dred?
Ill bring my guild, you bring yours, and we will have a danceoff.
Only if you let me dance nekked! well, can i hold a dagger?
I need to know if/when this is actually happening so I can plan to be on :0 It’s somehow extremely important to me.
This deserves a reply, yet I am absolutely unable to provide one.
You’re our morale officer; get on that!
Good point.
Alright! Nekkid Dance Party! Front Gates of SM, two hours prior to switchover.
Be there, and bring your guild buffets.

I’d let you be. In fact, if I did attack, you’d probably beat me anyways, even unarmed and naked.
Really.

Happens to me all the time. I always have to be careful where I log out, which is always a pain, because I often PvE for several hours and then finish up with a couple of hours WvWing. So, I quit, go to sleep, and the next day, I’m running for my life.
It would be nice to give you some invulnerability, say… 30 seconds or until you map travel or execute a skill.
Even the ability to go straight to WvW from the login screen would help.

If it evens out we might be stuck with you for multiple weeks, and honestly you are too big for this teir.
Says something.

@Sumwun:
Bleak, indeed. Perhaps, when you do move up, if you move up, there will be incentive to change. If not, you’ll either join us back down here (when Ferg keeps moving up against us and ET) or you’ll be the one being stomped on up a tier until you do get your act together.
If I beat you, you might want to consider changing games.
I don’t think ANet is being not fair.
If you’re really the leading server week after week, then…
1) Move up a tier where you’ll probably be last or middle for a bit, or…
2) Take your server’s fabulous skill and take over those borderland areas.
I’m from Kaineng and have managed to get everything aside from one small corner of EB. I did that without taking advantage of the early morning SoS grabs they used to so. If I can do it on a server that’s traditionally last… I’m sure you can do it with a winning server.

Thanks.
Also, you can get to the Golem merchant simply by swimming and touching the outside window near the waypoint. Happened to me when I was searching… surprised the heck out of me as well.

Is that the underwater lab? I did get the WP, but never figured out how to get into it. How do you?

Is the issue the rendering, or letting the client know the character is there?
If it’s rendering, wouldn’t a decent stopgap measure be to simply render the text? At least you’d see the XXX Invader floating out there and have something to target/select/avoid.

Spies? Who the hell would spy on us?
Certainly not me.
Hah!
Perhaps a better question would be WHY would anyone spy on us?

If you are running short of silver and are level 80, spend a few hours doing temple events on Cursed Shore. You’ll be flush before you know it.
True… even if the final event fails, you can rack up 5-10 silver every 15-20 minutes. And that doesn’t include drops.

I think he meant it as a challenge. Personally, I don’t find the map chat all that bad. Maybe I’m just on at the wrong times.
It feels small and kinda personal. Like a small town. That’s the choice ya gotta make for your server. You want New York City or some small town in the backwoods of Oregon?

Just a note.. I play very poorly. I invariably make money in WvW. Not much, mind you, but more than enough to offset repair costs.
If I beat you, you might want to consider changing games.
Oh, I never remember battles. I’m invariably mapping to our one remaining waypoint because I was just killed again.
I actually see larger friendly zergs in PvE, because we’ve got the Pact NPCs as well.
At least no culling issues for us, eh? I get to see every one of the 50+ bad guys before I get stomped.

Well.. I enjoy the low pop server. It’s hell on PvE, for the lack of DE’s and enough players to accomplish the good stuff, but even a sot player like me can make a difference on a low pop WvW server.

I heard that the new NPC commander will be a human guardian. He will constant spam “retreat!”, and will occasionally run back toward the spawn for no reason muttering something about “Jennah”.
He’d never retreat! A different duty calls. That’s all.

Alt+F4 is no escape
If someone that you’re fighting disconnects during combat (via Alt+F4, killing the client process, etc.) their character will be instantly killed, death penalties will be applied, and XP & loot will be handed out as usual. Why not instead leave the character of the player in the game for 10-20 seconds, vulnerable to attacks? This alternative method seems to be well established in plenty of similar online games, as it would avoid issues like being stuck in combat state without actually being attacked. If no enemy manages to kill this player within the time-frame, then no one should get any loot or death penalty.
I would much rather do this. This also allows a legitimate disconnect to reconnect within 20-30 seconds and just possibly take action to survive.

Do you remember when the game is started and the areas had a lot of player? I want it back!

Dungeons take a bit more time than a DE. Perhaps if you successfully run a complete DE chain, but even those usually only take 15-20 minutes.

Maturity, integrity, honor. I’ve been watching you ‘for the realm’ zergers pat yourselves on the back for about 10 years now, and it never ceases to amuse me.
You are awful players who get destroyed any time you don’t have a massive numerical advantage, unless of course you’re fighting other awful zergers. There’s no honor in what you do. You aren’t some great general fighting to save his lands. You’re just a bad who happens to be a little more into the roleplaying aspect of MMORPGs than most.
If I end up in a situation where your numbers are able to overcome my skill, then I have absolutely no problem using my last recourse to deny you a kill that you most certainly don’t deserve. If that’s a problem, where’s the statement from Anet saying they consider it an exploit and want it to stop? As far as I know, Anet has never said a word about their stance on it.
So you are trying to say that ALT F4 was put in the game so you can deny people kills? LOLL OLOLOLOLOL
Yeah.. check the tool-tip.

I think as long as you’re active in the game… checking inventory, buying/selling from the store (even dead!), I think any timer is reset.

I’m primarily a PvE player, though I do enjoy getting my rear kicked in WvW occasionally.
As a PvE’r, I need map completion, and with Keining’s relatively poor relative performance, it’s not easy to do. Don’t get me wrong.. Keining’s got some great players… just not enough of them.
But, quite often in the early morning, SoS and others have conquered large portions of the map allowing miserable little sots like me to grab some easy Poi’s and such.
So, to SoS and all the others who burn my midnight oil… thanks.

I had to try twice… both times, we probably had about 10-15 players. Maybe 20, but I doubt it. The first time… same problem as you. Hard to explain. Second time, though… maybe luck was with us, and we had 15-30 second segments of green. We clear it with several minutes to go.

I may have half a brain or not… I wasn’t getting a delay, but I can’t say why not. I didn’t even know it existed before.
What’s the ‘workaround?’

I got the second point. You DO NOT have to beat the event to get either skill point.

If you’re talking about the skill point at the High Priestess’ shrine, you can pick it up from right below, without having to go up.
I haven’t found the second skill point, so I don’t know if that requires the event to be completed or not.

Yeah.. you missed the main point, I’m afraid. The OP’s main point is that the zone is generally too deserted on lower population servers. So, there’s almost no chance of getting a decent group of people there to accomplish anything.
Yeah.. you missed the main point, I’m afraid. The OP’s main point is that the zone is generally too deserted on lower population servers. So, there’s almost no chance of getting a decent group of people there to accomplish anything. The OP offered several suggestions and spent a lot of time trying to maintain the level of difficulty that the zone has. I believe he agrees with you that it SHOULD be challenging. It’s just that with so few people in the zone (and I share that opinion on my server) that the zone becomes almost impossible to do anything in.

Yeah.. I’ve seen two different events get stalled. One was defending the gate of Orr against Risen waves… except no more waves came. The other was one of the escort missions where the party just stopped. No clue why.

Yes.. it was nice. I was disturbed that it didn’t mention any of the controversy over the new gear. But, I’m hoping that’s just PR-spin and not necessarily ANET ignoring the issue.
If I beat you, you might want to consider changing games.
Ok.. as long as I don’t need to have those high-end missions succeeding, yes.. I’ve got a good group of guys and we can fight through most of anything (except the zerg events).
No.. I don’t think we’ll be merging… this is the remains (plus a few new folks) of our old GW1 guild. We like it that way.
If I beat you, you might want to consider changing games.
It kinda makes me wonder if I’ll ever finish my personal story. I’ve got a good guild, but a max of 5 or 6 on at a time, and there are several high-end events that simply won’t work with that few.. or so I’ve been told.
But, I’ll just hope this is a temporary lull as everyone burns out on FotM for awhile.
If I beat you, you might want to consider changing games.
None of the above. I am a PvE player and i can put quite a lot of time into the game (though not as much as i once could). I like FotM on general, but i completely understand the complains. I don’t like the Fractal Level and Agony mechanics, i dislike the introdustion of ascended gear, i hate how FotM suddenly made half of the game a ghost town (and obsoleted 99% of the content).
I just read the opening post and the chart and was about to post almost exactly this.
I don’t really care about the armor. But, I do care about being shut out from new content because I don’t want to grind for the new armor.

I did get a back piece from Fractals.

Am I lazy? Probably. Why do I need to move items from the bank into my inventory before I can sell them on the TP?
I like how the crafting automatically uses items in the bank. I’d like to see that for the TP as well.
Thanks.
