Again, agreed. This type of “cater to the baddies and casuals” is what is killing WvW. They must learn to stay alive or run your ass back,get off non WvW classes, get WvW gear, WvW builds, and get gud. Then you have taught them how to fix their own issue.
That confuses me, Jayne. I’m suggesting that by staying alive you get more. That by dying, you have some degree of (potential) loss. So there is a reason to stay live, right? If by dying you get all the goods, why try to stay alive? Are we saying the same thing, but differently?
I agree. Stop dying. Less rally bot = more loot.
You could take away everything and only have red icons fight – I will still be able to identify 95% of drivers in seconds because they are exactly that, drivers.
Few if any of them apply tactics to confuse the enemy. Its push and bomb, push and bomb, maybe a fake push and then back to push and bomb.
Agreed and no argument here. For the sake of this exercise lets pretend that these “commanders” are actually employing some strategy.

At the end of the day, pin snipe is always going to be a thing. Commanders can…. change their outfits, put on a tonic, change their guild name, their achievement title, and even change the way they play. The one thing that they cannot change….. their WvW rank.
Most commanders in general will have the highest rank on the battlefield, thus, no matter what they do, they can still easily be picked out. Do you think you could take 20 minutes out of some programmers day, add a check box and give us the option to toggle on and off our WvW ranks?

We are a focused WvW guild and expect if you are online during scheduled raid times, you are on the field with us or queued for the map. We do not require you to be here for every raid but we are looking for active individuals who play regularly. We have 13 rules that have never changed.
1. Absolutely 0% Drama
· No bad mouthing, disrespecting, raging or trolling of any guild member, allied guild, militia or pugs. Keep it professional.
2. 100% Rep is Required
· Personal guild banks will be the only exception to this rule.
3. Know Your Role in the Guild
· Know what you’re expected to do and stay with the group when raiding at all times unless asked to do otherwise. NO breaking formation – we kill together and die together.
4. Run an Official [JINX] Build
· You are required to run a [JINX] build unless otherwise approved by an officer, driver or the GM.
5. Mandatory Participation
· You are not required to log in on raid nights, however, if you are online participation is mandatory.
6. Commanders Must be Approved
· To run a commander tag on the field under the [JINX] name, you must first be approved by the Guild Leader. This includes pugmanding.
7. Show Your Commanders Some Love
· If a [JINX] commander is tagged up on a raid night, it is mandatory that you support them and participate. If no available [JINX] commander is online or it is an off night, you may do as you wish.
8. Be Prepared to Raid
· When a call is given to form up on a raid night, you are expected to drop what you’re doing and form up. Times are posted in advance do please be prepared.
9. Teamspeak Participation is Required
· The use of Teampeak 3 is essential and mandatory. A microphone is preferred, but not required.
10. No Disrespect in Teamspeak
· Disrespectful disruptions of public channels are not allowed. This includes disagreements or disputes. Parties involved need to drop to a private channel and work out their issues.
11. Guild Dues
· There is no contribution requirement while you’re in [JINX], however, this is your guild and you are expected to help out where you can. Please donate siege, food, monetary donations, etc. There is no minimum nor maximum contribution… just don’t be the member that never contributes.
12. Fun Required, or GKICK
· When you come to a [JINX] raid, you are required to have fun. If you do not, you should probably find another guild or a sense of humor.
13. Be loyal to [JINX] or Bad Luck’s Coming.
Experience Level/Training:
We are looking for individuals who are skilled and experienced WvW’ers, or have the potential, dedication, and attitude to reach that point. If you are less experienced or skilled, we only ask that you work on making forward progress by spending your spare time doing things with us like PvP, roaming, or joining our folks who regularly duel in our arena. We are willing to take the time to train members, but they have to have a good attitude and be willing run the required builds, take criticism, and strive for improvement.
Events:

I assume that the fire keep chasm and single choke point was intentional… yet, you can blink across and open portals…. Needs fixed.
Every time the Oasis event fires, the Borderlands lag so badly it us unplayable anywhere else on the map except the Oasis itself. Is this just another way to FORCE more PvE in my WvW?
Same issue… 3 separate guilds on my server, only commanders can’t get back in if they had a tag up when the patch hit.
GG ANet… So apparent that they do not test WvW. Best game mode ever, and its a stepchild.
Same… we have discovered that anyone with a commander tag up when the patch hit, is now locked out with this error. Everyone else in several guilds is fine except the commanders.

PPK was one of the better things put in WvW. I can list the reasons, but i’m too lazy.

Meh… I’ve already been surprised with the number of returning players just a few of the ally guilds and mine. Full might be the extreme, but the example none the less. With paid xfers it might not become full, but very high = 1800 gems which is almost double what players are already short. Plus, what takes a server from medium to full is not alot of WvW’ers from the looks of it. An influx of 300 WvW players to 1 server I think might tip those scales.

it did be good to allow guild to pay members’ transfer through influence while abiding to the server status.

This is another “T1 is full and I want to play with my friends” thread isn’t… it?
Actually, No… this is not… JINX is currently in T5 and while the price is only 1000 gems to xfer, we have members spread all over T1 and T2 that are returning or stuck due to funds. This is kind of a selfish thread actually. In the end, if our sever goes full during the HoT release, I will have guild members unable to come WvW with thier guild. I’m sure I will not the the only guild stuck in this shape if it happens, or that has trouble with funding when moving around. This was truly the purpose of this thread.
Loophole for full servers to go extra full. While it sounds good to get your friends and guildmmates on the full server, what stops guilds from adding more people and getting them onto the full server?
All that aside, free transfers was one of the problems that messed up the pop in the first place…..
Could be alot of things done to control caps… just thinking out of the box, but allow guild size to be selected based on WvW, PvE guilds and lock it after selection. Only allowing WvW based guilds to move/destack servers. Since PvE doesn’t matter anyway because of megaserver. Honestly, at that point any PvE guilds could be automatically distributed between the server for load balance.
Not saying its perfect off the cuff, but I think that something needs to be looked at to help destack before HoT.
If transferring became free what incentive would people have to balance out the servers rather than bandwagon onto a select few? Free transfers were a big part of the reason the servers became so imbalanced in the first place.
The intent would be to leave the WvW population caps in place, thus not being able to bandwagon beyond existing coverage of full servers. You are correct that it was a big part of the imbalance, but that was when caps were not controlled by only WvW population. These free xfers should be used to incest people/guilds to destack onto server that need population. As stated above, don’t have all the details worked out, just general concept.
Just a quick counter argument: What if someone tried to abuse this by joining 2 different guilds, and swapped between them to change server for free ?

Balli if you’re already in SM, treb, no – you can’t build a counter treb. Nothing is higher than 3d floor SM – you can’t even reach a treb with a counter treb from the tower of power.

I saw a thread a while back where someone from ANet asked if this is what someone was saying. I tried to find it but could not. So I’m starting a new thread.
From experience as a GM of a WvW only guild. Anytime we have transferred servers, it is not very easy. Since WvW is all that a server is now good for, wouldn’t it make sense for a Guild to declare their home server and allow other guild mates to join them there? WvW guilds are useless spread out between servers and recruitment for them is difficult, especially if server are full. If the persons server was dictated by the guild they were in there would less guild hoping and more loyalty. To ease this guilds would have to use current servers as thier home by default. ANet could even charge later for guild transfers instead of single transfers.
Cost is another big issue. Between rounding up the gold or RL cash, lots of guilds do not move due to funds to get all guild members to the new sever. If this was opened for FREE, even if it was just for a little while, it is my believe that you would have more guilds willing to move around tiers/servers because there is no risk of loosing membership due to funds or gold.
I don’t post here much, but with HoT coming, opening free xfers for a few weeks may help balance out the populations before the influx.

I look around at all the living story content and think wow… that was alot of work, and gee, that took alot of time, look at all the of this…..
Now… Why cannot we get a simple thing like colored commander tags? I would go the extra mile and say guild only tags, but with the amount of love WvW gets, I’ll settle for simple at this point.
Charge me for for it… I’ll pay 100g more to pick my color, or better yet… I’ll pay you $9.99 to do it!!! What a novel idea. Hell for guild only tags i’ll pay $19.99

3. Since everyone is talking about how guilds are xfering off… whats your poor excuese this week, we don’t even have Q’d maps now.
4. Our transfers happened before season started, shows what you know. Locking when seasons started would change zero.
5. If the time your server spent with the QQ was used to fix your community, and your coverage gaps, you wouldn’t have gotten 4th place.

So…. I was pretty excited about this week. There was some big 2v1 promised, something about no way BG could take on 2x thier numbers, blah, blah, blah…..
Pretty sure it was asked by more than one person to “Bring it!”.
Is this honestly the best 2v1 you have? My hopes for constant 2v1 to prove we could do it despite the odds, has now been completely crushed.
I’m thankful for the fights trust me, but the 2v1 orginazation of epic and monumental proportion that we were promised is quite the fail.
So… I’ll beg and plead one more time….. for the love of god, BRING IT, please, please, BRING IT…. I know for a fact your NA is/was better than this. Last night in JQBL was a complete and utter 2v1 fail. I agree, you kept the objectives flipped, but your open field, and points lost to spikes, well …….You need to coordinate this 2v1 a bit better, because right now its more 1v2
Edit : Almost forgot… OMG the bags!!! Ment to say thank you for them, i thought my game was going to crash from picking them all up, i was wondering if the servers would handle them… I think i got bag lag at one point.

The only match up that matters is your 1v1 against JQ in week 5.
If you win, you win the league. Even if SoR and JQ double team you in week 7 and force you to finish last, you’d still win the league with 31 points vs 29 points for JQ.
If you lose, you’re going to finish second. After this whole fiasco there is no way that SoR/JQ does not double team you in week 7. You guys are good but you’re not good enough to stop 160 players on every map.
I’m really excited about this double team week 7. Regardless if it matters for BG or not it will be a blast.
I hardly ever post, however I felt the need and had a couple things to say.
First… I agree with the above statement. Bring it, Just Bring it. It will give us a challange of epic proportion to test and hone our skills and coordination upon. I love BG, the spirit of community and teamwork IMO is second to none, and this type of challange is welcome.
Second… When did this become a tabloid magazine thread? This weeks thread is mostly rubbish. I thought that what we did was come out for a good time, find good fights, and be competitive. I see no reason for any server, including BG, to thump chests, be rude, or for any reason be a poor sport.
While all guilds have rivals, or guilds that they are not so fond of, I can tell you its not because those guilds are trash. There is a reason that people are looking to fight IRON, TW, Agg, and many many more(if i didn’t say your name, its not that i don’t acknowledge other guilds)…. It’s because you are good guilds, and bring good fights, anyone who says different is just trolling. BG has those same type of guilds as well. Lets get back to what is fun, and get true competition going again.
Reel this thread back in. Thank you to all the rival server guilds who still bring it every day. To you…. I tip my hat.

The amount of immobilize that is able to be stacked vs. the ability to break/cleanse it is just game breaking. This change is horrible, and is a huge source of frustration when trying to play a this game.
To have the game mechanic is one thing, and understandable, but to not have diminishing returns on such an overpowered and annoying mechanic is just asinine at best.
Even getting a break/cleanse off does not matter as it is just restacked almost immediately, and if you are anywhere near guards, it just compounds the problem.
This is one change that really needs to be reconsidered, being frustrated is one of the man reasons many will just find something else to play or do that isn’t frustrating.

So it seems that a try of mixed berry pies for your zerg, or if everyone in your zerg eats them can take downa buffed claimer faster than using dark fields. A full zerg of 30 ppl can take down a buffed claimer in 20-30 seconds. Pretty OP if you ask me.
